The rocket exploded in the city of Sderot, according to the IDF Spokesman's Office, but caused no injuries or damage.

In response, IAF fighter jets targeted and identified hitting two weapons factories in the northern and central regions of Gaza early Sunday. They also struck one smuggling tunnel located in the area of Rafiah, along Gaza's southern border with Egypt.

The air strikes were carried out despite an announcement Saturday by Hamas "Interior Minister" Fathi Hamad that the terror organizations had cut a deal with allied groups to temporarily halt the rocket attacks. Hamad told reporters at a news conference in Gaza the decision had been made in order to give people time to "rebuild" following the IDF's counterrorist Operation Cast Lead.

"The IDF will not tolerate any attacks by terror organizations against Israel and its citizens," said the IDF in a statement.
Nearly 270 rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel since the end of last winter's counterterrorist operation on January 18. This is in comparison to more than 3,300 rockets and mortars fired in the year before the IDF carried out the operation, the IDF spokesman pointed out.

In the past month, Hamas terrorists have again slowly begun increasing the number of rocket attacks on Israel, with approximately 15 rockets and mortar shells fired to date.
While 15 is not a large number, they do help to create the atmosphere of terror to Sderot. Sderot is the only town in the world in which between 74% and 94% of children aged 4-18 exhibit symptoms of post-traumatic stress, says Natal, the Israel Center for Victims of Terror and War. Those numbers are not present in Gaza where according to the Lame Stream <strike>Media</strike> Anti-Semites, the children of Gaza have experienced the most vicious and inhumane attacks in the history of the world. Where is the PTSD and other psychiatric disorders in these children?

Sderot children want missile fire to stop!

View the video here.

Just imagine this is your home:

Just imagine this is your kitchen on Thanksgiving:

Just imagine this is your bathroom:

Not a pretty picture is it.

There is much you can do. Write your Congressman and Senator, write the President. Tell them that Hamas' constant attacks on civilians (they very seldom target military personal) is unacceptable under The Geneva Conventions of War and other International Agreements.

Contact your local newspaper, especially after they write a story condemning Israel for attacking Gaza in response to the Hamas attacks on Sderot.

Become informed. The people of Sderot have been on the forefront of the War on Terror for the last 8 years. They have put their families at risk, sacrificing good physical and mental health in this war. It is time their stories, their struggle comes out. The Sderot Media Center is a good place to start. Their on-line resource page is full of facts (not propaganda) for you to use, especially if you are a blogger. You can find it here.

I ask all who read this to keep the people of Sderot in their prayers. Pray that G-d will send a miracle to them. That they can live in peace and quiet.

And if you are able to, please send a little donation their way. The funds are used to help the people of Sderot. Each penny you send will bring comfort to citizen of that beleaguered town. Just click here and follow the directions. For those who wish to sponsor one of their projects, just click here. You will discover the projects that the Sderot Media Center is working on.

Just one thing, don't just do nothing.

Political Correctness in Europe-Then and Now

Cross-posted by Gary Fouse
fousesquawk

<img style="display:block; They chose to ignore the signs for whatever reason they had.

Two years ago, a top psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center was so concerned about what he saw as Nidal Hasan's incompetence and reckless behavior that he put those concerns in writing. NPR has obtained a copy of the memo, the first evaluation that has surfaced from Hasan's file.

Officials at Walter Reed sent that memo to Fort Hood this year when Hasan was transferred there.

Nevertheless, commanders still assigned Hasan — accused of killing 13 people in a mass shooting at Fort Hood on Nov. 5 — to work with some of the Army's most troubled and vulnerable soldiers.

I wonder if Hasan was a Christian or Jewish would he have gotten the same easy pass that he did.

Just read the memo and wonder what the US Army considers to be good psychiatric care?

The Memo:

National Capital Consortium
Psychiatry Residency Program
Borden Pavilion, Walter Reed Army Medical Center
Bldg.6, Rm. 2059, 6900 Georgia Ave, NW
Washington DC, 20307-5001
XXXXXXX

Consortium Participating Instructions: Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, National Naval Medical Center, Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center

May 17, 2007

Memorandum for: Credentials Committee

Subject: CPT Nidal Hasan

1. I am the program director for NCC Psychiatry Residency Training Program. I took over as PD in MAR 2007 and was Assistant PD from July 2006. I have been a faculty member of the residency since July 2004.

2. This memo is based on my personal knowledge of and the documented incidences in CPT Hasan’s Resident Training File.

3. The Faculty has serious concerns about CPT Hasan’s professionalism and work ethic. Clinically he is competent to deliver safe patient care. But he demonstrates a pattern of poor judgment and a lack of professionalism. In his PGY-2 year, he was counseled for inappropriately discussing religious topics with his assigned patients. He also required a period of in-program remediation when he was discovered to have not documented appropriately an ER encounter with a homicidal patient who subsequently eloped from the ER. He did successfully remediate this problem. At the end of his PGY-2 year, he was placed on administrative probation by the NCC GMEC for failure to take and pass USMLE Step 3 and to obtain an unrestricted state medical license by the end of his PGY-2 year; as a result he was not promoted to PGY-3 on time. He did eventually complete step 3 and get a license and was promoted to PGY-3. He was counseled for having a poor record of attendance at didactics and lower than expected PRITE scores. One year he failed to show for his PRITE examination at all. During his PGY-3 year, he was counseled for being consistently late to NNMC morning report. During his PGY-4 year, he was discovered to have only seen 30 outpatients in 38 week of outpatient continuity clinic. He was required to make this missed clinic time up using his elective. He failed his HGT/WGT screening and was found to be out of standards with body fat % and was counseled on that.
Lastly, he missed a night of call for MGMC ER and then did not respond to numerous pages by my office the next day.

4. Take together; these issues demonstrate a lack of professionalism and work ethics. He is able to self-correct with supervision. However, at this point he should not need so much supervision. In spite of all of this, I am not able to say he is not competent to graduate nor do I think a period of academic probation now at the end of his training will be beneficial. He would be able to contain his behavior enough to complete any period of probation successfully. My purpose in writing this letter is to give the credentials committee the benefit of full disclosure and the opportunity to modify CPT Hasan’s plan of supervision following initial privileging.

5. I did discuss this memo with CPT Hasan and informed him I would be adding it to his initial credentialing paperwork.

6. POC is the undersigned and may be reached at 202-XXX-XXXX or email at XXX/

Sincerely,

Scott Moran, MAJ, MC
Program Director
NCC Psychiatry Residency Training
A memo like that by a civilian hospital would destroy anyone's career, regardless of race or religion. But not in the military. What the US Army only wants is diversity for the sake of diversity. Not competency. Thus Hasan's passing grade and promotion.

In the old US Army, Hasan not only would have been investigate for his anti-American, treasonous (it is treason to side with the enemy during war-time) views, but would have failed in his quest to become a psychiatrist, been given a discharge (or asked to resign) and forced to pay the taxpayers back for his medical school.

No one would have died at Ft. Hood, and Hasan could have emigrated to one of the 57 Islamic countries that could have used his talents.

Oh for the good old days!

Cynthia McKinney Takes Her Road Show to Binghamton College

Cross-posted by Gary Fouse
fousesquawk

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 372px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/SwX0c6cJNYI/AAAAAAAAC-A/pnRwK9ZHoWs/s400/cynthia_mckinney.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405995705288963458" />
Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)
Israel-basher, race-baiter, anti-Semite and general all around idiot

When Cynthia McKinney comes to town, you never know what kind of bizarre events are in store. Several months ago, when she spoke at UC-Irvine, I asked her point blank if she thought Jews had been responsible for her recent electoral defeat. I prefaced that question with references to her supporters and father, all of whom had made anti-semitic remarks in the election's aftermath. To this day, I'm still not sure if she thought it was a hostile question or not. Why? Because she is not very intelligent, that's why. She gave a wandering answer that included a reference to AIPAC, but did not directly confirm or refute the point. Anyway, on November 10, she took her anti-Israel road show to Binghamton College in upstate New York.

http://jta.org/news/article/2009/11/17/1009246/sponsors-of-mckinney-speech-at-binghamton-school-confiscate-pro-israel-fliers

"A university spokeswoman said Tuesday that school administrators had met with the Hillel director to discuss Jewish student concerns and said the school hoped that students could work out the issue among themselves.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 366px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/SwX0NadRE1I/AAAAAAAAC94/rNUHIhlLqgo/s400/desk.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405995439005700946" />

“While the University defends the right of event organizers to determine the content of their programs, we hope and expect that all attendees at events held on campus will be treated respectfully regardless as to the extent of their agreement with the program's message," the university said in a statement. Part of that work is helping students to develop the necessary tools to resolve disputes effectively amongst themselves."
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 366px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/SwX0NadRE1I/AAAAAAAAC94/rNUHIhlLqgo/s400/desk.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405995439005700946" />

The statement also said that "student organizations are under no requirement to be neutral or balanced in their expressive activity and we have been made aware of concerns that the hosts of this event were not interested in presenting critiques of the guest speaker as part of the program. At Binghamton University, as at most campuses, those who stand in disagreement with a program's message certainly have many alternative avenues available to them to express their own viewpoints including hosting their own events, letter writing campaigns and rallies."
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 366px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/SwX0NadRE1I/AAAAAAAAC94/rNUHIhlLqgo/s400/desk.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405995439005700946" />

-----------------------------------------------------------

Obviously, nobody at Binghamton has a pair.

What I find so fascinating about the far-left (and that includes the pro-Palestinian forces in America because there is a definite alliance), they just don't want opposing voices heard. It is not a question of refuting or debunking their opposition, they have a need to silence them. Why else would McKinney supporters have collected the Hillel pro-Israel fliers inside the auditorium.

I would like to know if anyone in the auditorium refused to hand over their fliers.

But such is the situation on US campuses. The Cynthia McKinneys can come and spout their propaganda in peace. Opposing voices, defenders of Israel or critics of the whole Hamas-led Palestinian state need bodyguards if they manage to even get to a university podium. (Nonie Darwish, Wafa Sultan, David Horowitz, Michelle Malkin, etc.)

Here is the formula: Islamic radicalism + far-left radicals + empty-suit cowards in the administrations= fascism.

This Careful Generation

A note from Radarsite. Considering the fact that our new President has just ordered that all information regarding the Fort Hood jihadist massacre must now be filtered through his own National Security Council (not to be confused with the professional National Security Agency), and considering the fact that our new President does not believe that we are in a War on Terror, and that we should not mention the word "jihadis" or "terrorists" together with the word Muslim, it seemed to me that resurrecting this 2-year old Radarsite article might just be appropriate. rg
----------------------------------------------------------

This, my friends, in case you haven’t noticed, is a very careful generation. In fact, I've lived in this wonderful country of ours for a little over seven decades now, and this is without a doubt the most “careful” generation that I have ever had the misfortune to live amongst. Somehow we have managed to become the most careful people in the world, maybe the most careful people in history. We live in constant fear that we might inadvertently say something truthful that might offend someone, somewhere. We’ve learned to call this pervasive state of denial Political Correctness. But is it really Political Correctness, or is it something else?

I ask myself, is this present pacifistic crop of Chamberlainesque appeasers really being “careful” of other people‘s feelings, or merely being cowardly? Are all of our so-called PCisms truly demonstrations of our consideration for others, or are they rather an expression of our fear of others? Are we avoiding confrontation with those who threaten our lives and our culture out of kindness and tolerance, or are we just desperately trying to avoid that confrontation? Are we perhaps concerned that we might just antagonize our antagonists even more by naming them? Are we hoping to avoid the inevitable nastiness of these confrontations by hiding behind this intricately-wrought screen of euphemisms called Political Correctness?

When you think about it, isn’t this really just a better organized and more widely accepted form of that same old weasely logic that in the 1950s induced us to call a Jew “someone of the Jewish persuasion”? As though they had somehow been persuaded to become a Jew. Isn’t this just the latest manifestation of that same old hypocritical crap? Did we also talk about “someone of the Christian persuasion” in the 1950s? I don’t think so.

In short, this is nothing all that new, it’s that old familiar circuitous obfuscation that wouldn’t allow us to call a Jew a Jew. Why? Would a Jew be offended to be called a Jew? Hardly. Every Jew I’ve ever known was proud to be a Jew. Could it be perhaps that we found that word so offensive that we could hardly bring ourselves to say it? Were these semantic acrobatics really evidence of our consideration for others or evidence of that intransigent American brand of anti-Semitism? Was this an example of some early form of Political Correctness in action? Or are we really talking about something else here. Something a little bit easier to understand, but something too awful to actually put it into words. Something called the truth.

Well, I’m going to get a lot of people pissed off right now -- or at least I‘m going to give it a good try. You see, I’m getting sick and tired of being careful. I don’t know how the hell I ever let them talk me into all this bullsh*t in the first place.

This all started this past Christmas when I read an incredible little article about that Santa school Down Under that instructed their student Santas to no longer say “ho-ho-ho”, because it had a double meaning in the American Black Community, and that some people might find it offensive.

What???

My God, what have we become? We stand by meekly and watch as our rich English language becomes increasingly denigrated and devalued, we allow the primitive animalistic gruntings of our Black Inner City Gangsta Rap, pants-falling-off-the-butt “culture” to infiltrate and diminish almost every aspect of our lives: our music, our movies, our television, our sports, the way our kids act and dress -- and now we’re telling our Santa Clauses not to say “ho-ho-ho” because it too closely resembles that Gangsta Rap word for “whore”?

Wait a minute. Isn’t there something wrong with this picture? Who are the folks here who should be offended?

After that, I read another article that purported to be an investigation into the causes of the enormous increase in the murder rate in one of our largest East Coast cities -- actually, two articles written explicitly to address this single major problem. However, throughout the entire two articles, not one mention was made of what had actually happened to this city. Not one single reference to the fact that this wildly escalating crime rate just happened to correspond to the most catastrophic societal upheaval in that city’s four-hundred year history. Not only did the articles not even mention these irrefutable truths, but somehow the author ingeniously avoided mentioning that any racial changes had taken place there at all. If someone didn’t know the actual facts of the city in question they would be left to surmise that the city had just suddenly started becoming more criminal for no apparent reason. This, my friends, is what currently passes for Political Correctness. But is it?

Here’s what happened: the Inner City turned Black and the crime rate soared.

Sorry, but that’s what happened.
And I really am sorry; because it was my city of origin that was the subject of these counterfeit articles. I was born and brought up there. And this Black murder rate in this Black Inner City is a Black problem, not a White problem. These Inner City Black Gangstas are not selling crack because their great-great-grandmothers were slaves. And that disingenuous author who so adroitly skirted the most obvious by never once mentioning race, by referring to “these people and their drug problems” would have had that same delicate problem back in the 1950s calling a Jew a Jew. The murder of young Black males by other young Black males in the Black Inner Cities is a Black problem and can only be solved by Blacks. Blacks who are willing to be honest with themselves. Blacks who are getting sick and tired of that criminal-worshipping, female-degrading, drive-by shooting, Gangsta Rap drug world of self-destruction. Blacks who are willing to listen to those honest and tough love messages of respected Black celebrities like Bill Cosby, and even from those unapologetic liberals, like Juan Williams. Blacks who are willing to accept responsibility for their own lives and want to quit blaming everything on the Whites, who finally have the courage to disassociate themselves from those so-called Black Leaders, like Al Sharpie Sharpton and that extortionist Jesse Jackson, who are nothing more than enablers, living off the suffering of others. Offering their followers that same old false comfort of self-pity and victimization by perpetuating the myth of White subjugation.

By pretending that this is still a White problem, that only White people are smart enough to fix it, those delusional liberals are only making matters worse. It’s trying to cure the alcoholic’s problem by telling him he has good reason to drink. And it just ain’t gonna work.

So, what are we really talking about here? Blacks? Jews? Racism? Anti-Semitism? No, we’re still talking about Political Correctness -- or perhaps, more precisely, that same old cowardly dis ingenuousness in it’s latest disguise? A problem we’ve been wrestling with throughout that whole tumultuous course of human history. It’s called moral integrity. Some people simply call it honesty.

Now, before all you liberals out there rush to get your ammunition and start bombarding me with those familiar epithets of Racist and Bigot, just answer this one simple question. If we are afraid to even identify a problem, how the hell can we expect to fix it? If no one can even address these issues for fear of being labeled a racist or bigot, then tell me how we are going to discuss the issues? With obsequious code words like “these people and their drug problems“? For God’s sake, what people are we talking about? The Swedes? The Chinese?

If the Chinese people were the major contributing factor to the rise of the crime rates in most of our major cities, then we should most certainly be able to acknowledge this fact and try to do something about it. But it isn’t the Chinese people who are causing these terrible Inner City problems, is it? And it isn’t always the Blacks. Sometimes it’s the Mexicans, and sometimes it’s somebody else. But if we ever hope to do anything about these enormous and growing problems, we had better learn how to talk about them honestly. And have the courage to say who it is we are really talking about.

We have, it seems, traded our language of truth for some weak-kneed second-rate vocabulary of denial; and, most unfortunate of all, some of us are actually pleased with this ignoble transaction. They call it progressive; I call it regressive. They call it Political Correctness; I call it cowardice.
During this past Christmas season [2007], when television commercials were enticing us into thinking about buying a brand new Lincoln for our lover, while adroitly managing to circumvent that contentious word “Christmas”, substituting it with that inept and meaningless word “holiday”, were these car manufacturers sincerely interested in promoting cultural inclusiveness, or just afraid of the ACLU? Was this just one more example of this new-fangled ideology called Political Correctness? Or is it just that same old-fashioned moral cowardice hiding its ugly head?

We are losing our national nerve. We live in constant fear. We are afraid of being sued, afraid of being attacked, afraid of being disliked, and we are afraid of being called names. Fear has infiltrated every area of our lives and corrupted our ability to be effective as a people, as a nation. We are even afraid to admit that we are afraid. We are even becoming afraid to be seen as patriotic Americans.

The school board who lifts the Lord’s Prayer or the Pledge of Allegiance from that unfortunate school’s curriculum isn’t doing this out of some high-minded noble concept of inclusiveness -- they’re afraid of being sued by some loathsome Dr. Newdow (described by one enthusiastic atheist as “…one of the greatest heroes in the war against religious demagogues”).

To attempt to hide this blatant cowardice behind some shining shield of Political Correctness is a lie which we can no longer ignore, and which we can no longer afford to tolerate.

When we choose to refer to our brave Israeli ally’s ongoing attempts to protect their tiny nation from that continuous generational onslaught from their vicious and hate-filled neighbors and their brutal suicide-bombers as an “Arab/Israeli conflict”, rather than calling it what it is -- "The Arab War Against Israel” -- are we not demonstrating to the world our unconscionable lack of moral fiber? Did we refer to that WWII horror show in the Pacific as some morally-neuter “Japanese/American Conflict”? Hell no.

If I get stopped by a cop for driving without a license, will he let me go if I explain that what I’m doing isn’t really illegal, that I’m really just an undocumented driver? We have become so accustomed to navigating through the perils of this world using these subtle subterfuges and lies we no longer even notice them.

On September 11, 2001 we were attacked by nineteen Muslim terrorists. They left final testaments clearly explaining their motivations for committing this horrendous crime against humanity. They wanted to kill the Infidels. And they killed 2,987 innocent people that day -- and we have still not managed to conjure up the political will to profile Muslim men at our airports.
Does anyone still believe that this is truly an expression of Political Correctness, our good-hearted and sincere efforts to avoid offending anyone of a different faith or race? Or is this just one more instance of a government and an industry caving in to fear. The fear of being sued by CAIR or their faithful ally, the ACLU.

While Islamic leaders worldwide exhort their eager followers to kill the Infidel, and describe this monumental struggle with unabashed clarity as a War of Islam against the West, of Muslims against Infidels, our own president [GWB] very carefully describes this same militant religion as a "religion of Peace". We console ourselves with the comforting illusion that what we are really up against in this so-called War on Terror is just a small fanatical minority who have hijacked a "peaceful religion". We ignore all information to the contrary, no matter what its source, no matter how valid. Islam has declared War on the West but, none the less, we must be very careful not to offend any Muslims. They might think we're racists. CAIR might sue us. Jimmy Carter might get upset.

Somehow, my friends, before it really is too late, we have to come out from behind our warm and fuzzy euphemisms and have the courage to confront this world that‘s really there, not the one we wished was there. We can no longer blame our dishonorable inaction on Political Correctness. For, when all is said and done, our so-called PC culture is nothing but another form of cowardice. And this cowardice is not only never going to allow us to solve any of our problems, it’s going to get us killed.

Originally published by Wake Up America - December 15, 2007
http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree.blogspot.com/2007/12/this-careful-generation.html

Roger W. They have been waiting a long time for this opportunity . . .they are going to drive to push through everything they can . . .

Bolton says that Obama wants to avoid a 2nd amendment fight by using his executive agreement powers.
What about Civilian ownership?

A very slippery slope especially with this administration. . .

Technorati Tags: Hillary Clinton,President,Obama,Gun control,global arms treaty,NRA,U.N.,United Nations,globalism,individual freedoms

Oppose Obama's Policies? You Are Prejudiced

Cross-posted by Gary Fouse
fousesquawk

Today's Orange County Register features a story about a study conducted by a professor at the University of California at Irvine that shows that most people who oppose President Obama's policies are driven by racial prejudice against blacks.

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/obama-51165-ocprint-health-racism.html

According to Professor Eric Knowles of UC-Irvine, who worked with two Stanford University social psychologists (whatever that is) came to this conclusion from interviewing 285 whites, Hispanics and Asians to determine their bias against blacks.

Two hundred and eighty-five people out of a nation of 300 million. Pretty conclusive, don't you think?
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 346px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/SwNtAidmWhI/AAAAAAAAC7A/Cu8Gm4CEgfo/s400/drunks.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405283833793108498" />
"Yeah. Us and 283 other guys!"

Conclusion? Obama won the election in spite of racial prejudice against blacks. The subsequent resistance to his policies is driven by racial prejudice against blacks.

Noteworthy in the article is that the professors apparently didn't bother to interview African-Americans as to why they voted or didn't vote for Obama or why they support or oppose his policies.

In the interest of full disclosure, I teach part time at UC-Irvine, but I don't know Professor Knowles.

So what is the message here? Is it that we Obama critics should shut our mouths lest we not be accused of being racists? Well, I abandoned that idea quite a while back. Besides, I have no desire to abandon black conservatives who have exhibited courage in going against Obama, his gang, and his philosophy.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://radarsite.blogspot.com/2009/11/oppose-obamas-policies-you-are.html' title='Oppose Obama's Policies? As I see it, once the lawyers and the judges get involved, look for these defendants to walk.

As a DEA agent, I spent my career working with the federal courts in prosecuting drug traffickers. Though I am not a lawyer, I do know the rules of procedure pretty darn well. Unless there are some provisions of the Patriot Act that I don't know about, this is what I see coming.

Once these defendants are brought to the US, here come the defense lawyers. Here come the motions for discovery of evidence against their clients-including probably, evidence that is sensitive to our intelligence-gathering process including the identities of foreign sources (and informants) who wish to remain secret. What foreign intelligence service is going to want to work with us on terror matters now knowing that they are likely to be divulged in a US Federal Court?

Do you doubt for a moment that the defense lawyers are going to claim their clients' rights to a speedy trial have been violated since they have been sitting in Gitmo for some 5 years. (Defendants in federal courts have a right to a speedy trial.) How about throwing out the confessions of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed based on the fact that he was water-boarded? Do you really think his confessions are going to hold up? How about evidence gathered from wiretaps not approved and sign off on by some federal judge? How about a challenge for change of venue since New York was the scene of the World Trade Center attack. Obviously, these poor defendants cannot get a fair trial there.

Get ready for a big circus trial in which the defense throws out all the dirt about Bush, Cheney, the Patriot Act, Gitmo, the NSA intercepts, waterboarding and everything else they can think of.

I can really see whoever the judge is assigned to these trials throwing the cases out of court altogether. Even if not, and the defendants are convicted, the appellate courts and the Supreme Court will eventually get involved.

These prisoners in my view are not entitled to anything other a military tribunal. They don't qualify for the Geneva Convention, and there is no need to hand them over to the federal courts. Is this what we are going to do with every terrorist we capture overseas? Watch our courts get clogged up in a hurry.

The example that should have been followed is the case involving the German saboteurs who landed on our shores in World War II, were captured and tried by military tribunals. (Most were hanged.) That is exactly what should have happened here. Instead, our government now chooses to hand them into the federal court system that may eventually have to kick them free on some legal technicality.

But you know what? I suspect Obama, Holder et al already know this.

Feds Seize Iranian Mosques, schools and Piaget Building

by Maggie at Maggie's Notebook

The Iranian-owned skyscraper, The Piaget Building in midtown Manhattan, along with mosques, schools and Islamic centers, had a Federal civil “complaint” filed today, leading to their seizure by the U.S.

The Piaget Building is managed by the Alavi Foundation and owned by the Iranian government. An amended complaint “seeking the Foundation’s “majority stake” in the building located at 650 Park Avenue, New York, New York was also added today.

[Alavi] working with a front company known as Assa Corp., illegally funneled millions in rental income to Iran’s state-owned Bank Melli. Bank Melli has been accused by a U.S. Treasury official of providing support for Iran’s nuclear program, and it is illegal in the United States to do business with the bank

Bank Melli Iran is reported to have $48 billion in Shariah-compliant assets, with Iran holding more Islamic assets than all other countries. Iranian banks account for 6 of the top 10 Islamic Institutions worldwide.

In their amended complaint, U.S. prosecutors alleged Alavi has been providing numerous services to Iran’s government, including managingthe building, running a charitable organization for the Iranian government and transferring funds from the building’s management company to Bank Melli.

While all of the properties under forfeiture may remain open as proceedings go forward, and no Iranian spokesman or mosque leader would speak of the action, neither would they open their doors:

At the Islamic Institute of New York, a mosque and school in Queens, two U.S. marshals came to the door and rang the bell repeatedly. The marshals taped a forfeiture notice to the window and left a large document sitting on the ground. After they left a group of men came out ofthe building and took the document.

Mosques are located in Queens, NY, and schools in Huston and Rockville, Maryland and an Islamic center in Carmichael, California. In Virginia, a 100-acre property.

This minute on FOX, Alavi is denying any part of their operation is owned by the Iranian government. While one earlier report said no action was taken today at the properties, FOX News’ Eric Shawn just reported that boxes were removed from the Piaget Building today.
Assets are believed to total more than $500 million, with mosques, schools and Islamic centers in Maryland, California, Houston and New York, including a 36-story office building in New York, and more than 100 acres in Virginia.

The receipts from the Piaget Building funds mosques, Islamic Centers and schools.

Confiscating the properties would be a sharp blow against Iran, which has been accused by the U.S. government of bankrolling terrorism and trying to build a nuclear bomb.

The sleek, modern building, last valued at $570 million to $650 million in 2007, has served as an important source of income for the foundation over the past 36 years. The most recent tax records show the foundation earned $4.5 million from rents in 2007.

Rents collected from the building help fund the centers and other ventures, such as sending educational literature to imprisoned Muslims in the U.S. The foundation has also invested in dozens of mosques around the country and supported Iranian academics at prominent universities.

If federal prosecutors seize the skyscraper, the Alavi Foundation would have almost no way to continue supporting the Islamic centers, which house schools and mosques. That could leave a major void in Shiite communities, and hard feelings toward the FBI.

It’s about time radical Islam has a problem with the FBI. The article says Alavi Foundation has been suspected of terrorist ties for THREE DECADES. This is not good news for the three young Americans held hostage in Iran for crossing the border from Iraq. Sarah Shourd, Shane Bauer and Joshua Fattal were charged this week with espionage and will be tried in Iran. We’ll see if Iranian mosques and schools become bargaining chips for the release of Shourd, Bauer and Fattal.

Maggie M. It is appropriate to consider his words today - on Veterans Day. Nothing has changed in two years, except the progress in Iraq, which Roger mentions, and which was already happening at that time. This quote from the article sums up the terrible events at Fort Hood last week - where another day of reckoning came to America:

We have distorted the facts and ignored the evidence in our pathetic efforts to deny the very existence of this greater war, and to hopefully postpone that unavoidable day of reckoning.

A Veterans Day honorarium is here.

That Other War

Originally published by Political Grind - October 23, 2007

------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Our enemies are not all we need to fear, we must fear those that refuse to name them".
-- Susan Duclos (Spree)
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Western civilization is in the midst of a war for its very existence and we are losing this war.

No, I’m not talking about the ongoing wars in Afghanistan or Iraq. I'm not referring to those recent ominous clashes between the Turks and the PKK in Northern Iraq, nor even that increasingly dangerous, but seemingly inevitable confrontation with the terrorist state of Iran.

I’m talking about that other war, that larger, more deadly global conflict that nobody wants to talk about. I’m talking about that increasingly obvious and undeniable Clash of Civilizations, in which these bloody battles in the Middle East merely represent the most visible manifestations.

We have distorted the facts and ignored the evidence in our pathetic efforts to deny the very existence of this greater war, and to hopefully postpone that unavoidable day of reckoning.

While in Iraq itself some promising signs are emerging. In his creative counterinsurgency strategy (COIN), General Petraeus has found it expedient to reach out to those “moderate” Muslims in an effort to form working alliances against the insurgents and radicals, and thus far has achieved sosme remarkable success.
But can these successful tactics in the battle of Iraq be translated to that larger and more subtle battleground in that other war, that growing and already formidable Islamic onslaught against the West?
Unfortunately, no. In fact, almost the exact opposite is true.

It is estimated that within twenty years the population of Marseilles will be majority Muslim. Almost all of the liberal Western democracies are being overwhelmed by hordes of Muslim immigrants, mostly from North Africa, immigrants who bring their savage and backward culture (and their alarming birth rate) with them. The liberal Western societies have been attempting to deal with this growing menace with the pitiful weapons of tolerance and understanding. For the sake of embracing some feel-good, why-can’t-we-all-just-get-along-together concepts of multiculturalism and diversity they are in the process of losing their historical and traditional European cultures.

The industrial cities of northern England have become majority Muslim. London is fast becoming Londonistan. The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain — one by one, these European countries are awakening to the deadly peril which they have allowed into their midst. Little Switzerland, in its most recent elections, seems to be determined to fight back against this loss of its cultural identity. But is it too little too late? For some countries, the damage may have already been done.

It is a gross misrepresentation of the facts to refer to this monumental crisis that the West now faces as a War on Terror. For all of the terror that can be generated by some murderous and well-publicized attack, the most deadly threat to our existence comes, not from the terrorists, but from these ubiquitous cultural invasions, which we in the West — precisely because of our liberal and tolerant values — are woefully unprepared to counter.

The Islamic culture which is attempting, and in some cases succeeding in infiltrating and subsuming its welcoming democratic host countries is one of the most brutal cultures in history. It stands in direct opposition to everything our liberal Western culture holds valuable. It is a pitiless totalitarian theocracy which denigrates individuality and scientific progress. It is completely and utterly intolerant of any other point of view. It brutalizes and seeks to subjugate its women to the will of the superior male. It responds to criticism or dissent with a combination of intimidation and violence. Those few heroic journalists, authors and politicians who have dared to question or criticize Islam have either been forced into hiding or been murdered.

These barbaric invasions are being aided and abetted by our own liberal 'multiculturalists'. Under the dictates of multiculturalism and diversity we have been forbidden to even acknowledge the existence of these threats — let alone deal with them. We have even ceded the moral high ground to these medieval brutes, meekly acquiescing to the delusions of cultural moral equivalency — as though somehow the beheading of a Daniel Pearl equates with the embarrassment of a Britney Spears. If we even attempt to redress these issues we are immediately branded as xenophobic racists.

Consider for a moment the utter absurdity of this statement:
We are six years into this so-called War on Terror and we are still unwilling or unable to honestly identify our enemies and confront them for fear of being impolite.

Here is the hard truth and it’s time we faced it. Whether we went into Iraq or not, the war that we have had thrust upon us will continue. For it is not just about Iraq or Afghanistan; it is not just about Al-Qaeda. This war is not about what we have done or not done in the Middle East. This war that we are in is a war against a culture, the hate-driven 15th century, pride/revenge male warrior culture of the Arab/Islamic world (in which I include Iran). Whether we choose to see it this way or not, the facts remain that we are, indeed, in the midst of a Clash of Civilizations. There is nothing more dangerous in a time of war than underestimating your enemy.

For those amongst us who still wonder “why can’t we all just get along together?” I suggest that you remember once again that awful day in September. I suggest that you take out those pictures of the nineteen hijackers again and look closely at those faces. This is the enemy. They are implacable in their hatred towards us. They are willing to die to kill us. The civilized West is once again being besieged by savage barbarian hordes, driven by their brutal and uncompromising religion. And we don’t know how to fight back. All that we have learned that makes us civilized now works against us and to our enemy’s advantage.

If anyone seriously believes that we are going to defeat this ruthless, divinely-inspired enemy through gentlemanly dialogue and understanding, I suggest they remember the fate of Theo van Gogh. We will not overcome this fanatical fascist threat by attempting to find some common theological ground in the Old Testament, or by promoting some delusional multicultural vision of diversity. Our European neighbors have already tried this and failed, and their imperiled societies are suffering the consequences of their bad judgment.

Now this dreaded plague has arrived on our own shores. We can no longer afford the luxury of comforting ourselves with pleasant delusions and well-intentioned obfuscations. We will never defeat them with kindly Christian platitudes or high-minded liberal idealism.

Finally, we must dare to be impolite, we must sacrifice some of our precious civility and have the courage to recognize our enemy for what he is and deal with him accordingly or we will most certainly lose this battle of wills, this unmistakable Clash of Civilizations.

Maggie M. Then a cloud grows darker and I see those certain few less clearly."

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; was signed. The first colonists leading the way to America, as we know it today, signed a governing document for Plymouth Colony. The colonists crossed the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Mayflower. At least half of those were Christians, seeking the freedom to practice Christianity, without the tyrannical direction of the the King James. The Compact clearly established that the Colony would be free of English law. "It was devised to set up a government from within themselves and was written by those to be governed." The compact began "In the name of God, Amen."

When creating the Mayflower Compact, the signers believed that covenants were not only to be honored between God and man, but also between each other. They had always honored covenants as part of their righteous integrity and agreed to be bound by this same principle with the Compact. John Adams and many historians have referred to the Mayflower Compact as the foundation of the U.S. Constitution written more than 150 later.

America was indeed begun by men who honored God and set their founding principles by the words of the Bible. They lived their lives with honesty, reliability, and fairness toward establishing this country “for the sake of its survival.” A great many of America’s Founding Fathers have been quoted in regard to living by Biblical values.

On this day of honoring, remembering, and memorializing our veterans, it is good to remember that our military consists of many religious and non-religious beliefs - but always, our wars have been about liberation, never about occupation, never about confiscation. On this day, I remember my father, who served in WWII and two brothers who served in the U.S. Air Force and I am praying God's blessing on all who have served and are serving. One can only ask; why was this man allowed to remain in the military?

Now we know that Hasan worshipped at a northern Virginia mosque at the same time two of the 9-11 hijackers worshipped there. That could have been purely coincidental except that the Mosque's imam is a radical now living in Yemen who has now called Hasan a hero.

Now we know that Hasan had made numerous inflammatory statements about our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now we know that he made a power point presentation to his fellow Army doctors that should have alerted everyone to his views.

Now we hear that his e-mails had been intercepted by intelligence agencies; e-mails that indicated he was trying to contact Al-Qaida.

Now we learn that the DOD did a background on Hasan months ago and decided he was ok.

The Army knew that this man was highly suspicious. Not only did they leave him in the Army, they promoted him to Major.

Why?

Apparently, Army Chief of Staff George Casey has given us the answer. Diversity.

Even now in the wake of this tragedy, a tragedy that should have been prevented, General Casey is wringing his hands and worrying about the Army "losing its diversity".

The Army had diversity when I served in the 1960s. The Army will always have diversity. No, what this Army has too much of is political correctness. Only political correctness could have allowed this Hasan character to remain in his position in the face of all these red flags. Now we see the result. Thirteen dead.

When will this political correctness madness end? To compound the Army's error, we now see the media engaging in political correctness. Chris Matthews is even saying that the Army should have granted conscientious objector status to Hasan! Think that's outrageous? Try this on for size (also from Matthews).

"That's not a crime to call up Al Qaida"

The Army should have bounced this guy right out on his ear, that's what they should have done. Now it is too late. Thirteen dead on the altar of political correctness.

Pete Hoekstra Accuses President Obama of Withholding Info: Dems Defend CIA

by Maggie at Maggie's Notebook

Our world is upside-down. Democratic leaders say they do not share the concerns of the Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee that Nidal Hasan's red flags were, perhaps, ignored.

Pete Hoekstra

Just a few short months ago, Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the CIA liars, offered no proof and then refused to talk about it again - leaving the stain on the agency's credibility in full view for the world to see.

Yesterday, Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) accused Obama of withholding "critical" information. The House Intelligence Committee, chaired by a Democrat, dismissed Hoestra's concerns.

Rep. Hoekstra went even farther and effectively said the President was not truthful when he claimed that Hoekstra and other intelligence committees had been "briefed:"

Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) is blasting President Obama for withholding from the Congressional intelligence committees information on the Fort Hood killings suspect, while at the same time acknowledging the leaders of those panels -- including Hoekstra himself -- have indeed been briefed on Nidal Malik Hasan.

In his statement, Hoekstra repeated Obama's plea that we not "jump to conclusions" about the alleged Fort Hood killer:

...but the administration is in possession of critical information related to the attack that they are refusing to release to Congress or the American people," Hoekstra said

Hoekstra said he was concerned that more information had been provided, piecemeal, to the news media by anonymous sources than had yet been provided to the Committee. He criticized the Obama administration for not being more immediately forthcoming with details and specifically requested information, and for restricting the limited information provided so far to the so-called "Gang of Eight."

So perhaps the Gang of Eight is the problem? No. Hoekstra is a member of the Gang of Eight. Members are Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, Silvestre Reyes, Pete Hoekstra, Diane Feinstein and Kit Bond. So what is going on? Was Hoekstra appropriately briefed as Obama claims, or was he not? And how about Pelosi and Reid? What do they know?

This is the height of hypocrisy and the culmination of evil. The administration and Democrats are salivating over Eric Holder's investigation into CIA so-called torture of Guantanamo prisoners - after promising the Bush administration that they would drop that atrocious idea.

But today, with the Fort Hood memorial tribute still on the calendar, they have no concern that intelligence and the U.S. Army may have put troops side-by-side with a radical jihadist - with red flags flaring.

Democrats know Americans are fed up with their politically correct posture. We know Americans are dying in this country, in Afghanistan and still yet in Iraq because military fears the wrath of Congress, and the administration, loathes any attempt to profile or point a knowing finger at an extremist. In the video below, Hoekstra speaks about preventing terrorism and keeping soldiers safe...February 2008. Listen as he talks about homegrown terrorism. Democrats told him the "threat is not real."

Pete Hoekstra "threats not real"

Maggie M. We have set up high-tech listening posts all around the world in the hope of retrieving a single signal from them. Any small message at all, even the most fragmentary sign that would prove their existence. There is, we have been told, good reason to believe that they're out there, but unfortunately so far we've been unable to substantiate this belief.

However, these disheartening results have in no way diminished our enthusiasm for this worthy project, or caused us to lose confidence in the probability of its eventual success. We just keep listening and hoping.

These Moderate Muslims, we have been advised, are the Golden Key to winning this War on Terror -- or more precisely, this Islamic War against the West. It is to them we must turn to solve these intractable problems. Because, our experts have assured us, the problems inherent in Islam can only be resolved from within Islam, by those ephemeral and semi-mythical MMs. Only they have the moral authority to redefine the tenets of Islam and set it on its new course. But unfortunately so far we have been unable to substantiate this belief.

However, these disheartening results have in no way diminished our enthusiasm for this worthy project, or caused us to lose confidence in the probability of its eventual success. We just keep on listening and hoping.

Meanwhile, our brave American warriors are at this very moment confronting this ruthless Islamic menace all over the world, most particularly in Afghanistan and Iraq. And, through their professionalism and their courage and their daily sacrifices, they have achieved some remarkable successes.

But here on the home front we are still in turmoil. Here, we are in the real quagmire, still bogged down in that never-ending, and seemingly-hopeless battle of legalistic semantics. We are still stuck in those preliminary stages of attempting to define the enemy. While our heroic soldiers are fighting and dying on the battlefield, we at home are still in the process of trying to precisely determine who it is we are fighting.

We are NOT, we have been repeatedly admonished by our highest authorities, at war with Islam. Islam is a religion of peace. We are certainly not at war with all of those good peaceful Muslims all over the world. And we are most definitely not at war with those Moderate Muslims. They, in fact, are our stalwart allies in this war, which is really just a war against extremism, against just another form of religious fanaticism, kind of like a Middle Eastern version of the KKK.

We have gone to great lengths to get this message out there to the world, we want the world to understand: We are NOT at war with Islam. We take great care to make clear-cut distinctions between those good Muslims and those bad Muslims. And we want those good Muslims around the world and in our midst to clearly understand our position. You have nothing to fear from us, we promise you. We honor your religion and your right to practice it.

In short, if you're a Moderate Muslim you have nothing to fear from us.

But, now, what about those Moderate Infidels?

Surely there must be some Moderate Infidels out there. I wonder, are those eminent religious leaders, those wise and all-powerful imams and mullahs busily engaged in that laborious process of making those important distinctions between those Moderate Infidels and those Fanatical Infidels, whom they are fighting daily on their battlefields? Are they carefully separating out all those good Infidels from those bad Infidels? Are they perhaps bogged down in some moral quagmire of their own?

When they attacked us on 9/11, did they make certain that those killed in the attacks would only be those bad Infidels?

To expect to be saved by these mysterious Moderate Muslims, by their somehow rejecting the fundamental tenets of Islam, rejecting those perfect divine pronouncements of the Prophet, is as foolhardy and hopeless as expecting a Christian to reform Christianity by denying the teachings of Christ, or expecting a Jew to reform Judaism by denying the Torah.

It just ain't gonna happen.

I'm sorry folks, but the time for gentlemanly debate has long passed, it's time to wake up, before it's too late. Our enemy has clearly and repeatedly defined this battle for us, even though our political leaders have yet to find the courage to do so. For our enemy the issues are clear-cut and straight-forward: it is simply a battle of Islam against the Infidels.

We must finally accept them at their word and fight the fight that's there, not the fight we'd rather fight. WE are our only salvation. No one else. Not the British. Not the Australians. Not the Europeans. Not even those brave Israelis.

And certainly not those semi-legendary Moderate Muslims.

Originally posted on Nov. 28, 2008 by Roger W. As I said, I don't want to say anything that would aggravate an already delicate situation in the wake of this latest massacre. I have posted the initial statements by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which were appropriate. Yet, there is much more that must be said-in as responsible a manner as is possible- but must be said.

First of all, the mainstream media cannot continue to describe Nidal Malik Hasan simply as a man who snapped in the face of the on-going wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. To describe this as a case of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome -or even Pre-traumatic Stress Syndrome (if that is possible) is absurd on its face. This was a case of an angry Muslim who was carrying out a pre-meditated act of terror under the banner of Islam (at least in his mind). It was an act of Jihad, albeit by a lone individual (apparently). To deny that Major Hasan's religion was a major factor-the major factor- is to deny reality itself.

As for the statements of CAIR and ISNA, while condemning the action of the shooter is commendable, they simply don't go far enough. Nihad Awad, the head of CAIR, has now stated that Islam had nothing to do with the incident, Islam is a religion of "peace, harmony and co-existence", and that CAIR will not tolerate any backlash against Muslims in America. This is just the prelude to CAIR shifting from its initial condemnation of terrorism into a defensive mode-and offensive mode- against anyone who dares question Islam itself.

How many more terrorist attacks must we endure before we say to Mr Awad that it is high time for he and his colleagues to demonstrate that Islam is, indeed, a religion of "peace, harmony and co-existence"?. Just in recent months in the US, we have witnessed not just Ft Hood, but plots broken up in New York and Chicago, as well as so called "honor-killings in Arizona and Buffalo, NY. We have had the shootout in Dearborn with a black separatist Muslim leader. In addition to Ft Hood, we also know that Ft Dix, NJ was also recently a target of a Jihadist attack. Can any serious person now doubt that future attacks are on the way?

I am afraid that it is unavoidable for all Americans to start asking the hard questions about Islam itself. Most of us have tried to separate the Jihadists and fanatics from innocent, law-abiding Muslims. Some, like the media, have gone to embarrassing lengths to avoid the hard questions, as evidenced by their performance in this latest incident.

We in America have a pretty good record-with a few exceptions- of religious tolerance. We have welcomed Muslim Americans to this country in the past decades, allowed them to build their mosques and schools and worship freely. It has blown up in our faces. Many of these mosques and schools have been shown to be places of hatred of America and downright sedition.

Yet, we have tried to be accommodating. After all, what is not to admire about people who pray five times a day? What is not to admire about people who make God the central focus of their lives? What is not to admire about women who dress modestly and lead moral lives? What is not to admire about a religion that places so much emphasis on charity? What is not to admire about a people who eschew alcohol? What is not to admire about Arabs whose very language is infused with references to God and peace?

On the other hand, after 9-11, after witnessing the never-ending violence around the world, the beheadings, the stonings, the riots, the hateful declarations, the persecutions of non-Muslims in Muslim countries, the calls for revolution in countries like the UK and calls for the imposition of Shariah law in the UK by fanatics like Anjem Choudary, should we not be asking ourselves questions-openly and honestly? The truth is there is a dark strain in Islam that is anything but "peace, harmony and co-existence". It is rather about hate and violence. It must be purged, and it must be purged by Muslims themselves.

Mr Awad talks about peace. Is he talking about peace with Israel? Is he talking about peace between Sunnis and Shi'a? Mr Awad talks about harmony and co-existence. What about the constant references in the Koran about non-believers burning in Hell? (That is also a tenet of Christianity, but you don't see in page after page in the Bible.) What about the infamous Hadith that talks of rocks and bushes calling out to Muslims to "kill the Jew hiding behind me"? What kind of co-existence is that? Mr Awed would have us believe that "Jihad" refers only to the inner struggle of Muslims to be better Muslims and live good lives. He won't admit (to us) the part of about the violent aspect of Jihad.

Mr Awad now tells us that Islam had nothing to do with Hasan's actions this week in Texas. Then why did Hasan yell, "Allahu Akbar" as he began shooting? Why is it that so many terrorists yell the same thing as they begin their actions? Assuming Hasan survives, I have a feeling he will tell the world openly why he acted. What will Mr Awad say then?

Mr Awad and his organization can sue the whole world if they want, but CAIR cannot force people to ignore these events and not draw their conclusions. If Mr Awad and CAIR truly want to act in the interests of Muslims and Islam, then they must truly rise up and assist the authorities in rooting out the last Jihadist on our soil. And make no mistake, they are among us. Instead CAIR makes its obligatory statements of condemnation, then circles the wagons looking for somebody that needs to be silenced or sued. Instead, they act as a buffer between the police/FBI and those citizens or residents the FBI and other agencies seek to interview. They tell people that they don't have to talk to the authorities. They complain about surveillance of mosques-even though some of these mosques are preaching hate and sedition against the US.

Of course, those of us who care to know the facts, know that CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the recent Holy Land Foundation (charities) trial in Dallas, and that some of these Islamic charities are fronts for funneling money to terrorist organizations overseas-like Hamas. In addition, why has CAIR contributed to the legal defense fund of cop-killer Jamil al Amin (H Rap Brown)? What is CAIR's position and relationship to radical black separatist Muslims like Luqman Ameen Abdullah, who just died in a shootout with FBI agents in Dearborn?

Mr Awad, his colleagues at CAIR, ISNA, US imams and all Muslims also need to understand that this country will never submit to Islamic shariah law-which is indeed the goal of many of these leaders. There are millions of Americans-like me-who will fight that to the death. We will never accept Islam as a political ideology that would govern our lives and take away our freedoms. It is antithetical to our ideas of a free and open society. To any Muslim who thinks Shariah rules should apply in America instead of American values and the Constitution, I say you should return to your land of origin.

So-called "honor killings" will never be tolerated in America and must be punished to the full extent of the law. The penalty for one renouncing Islam and leaving the religion is not death-not in our country. That is a religious freedom we guarantee. Why is it that courageous people like ex-Muslims Wafa Sultan and Nonie Darwish have to be accompanied by bodyguards in our country because they live under the threat of death? In addition, we must not allow a resurgence of anti-Semitism in this country directed toward our Jewish citizens. Why all the hatred toward Jews, Mr Awad?

Mr Awad says he is concerned about a backlash against innocent Muslims. So am I. Yet, in my opinion, even after 9-11, we have shown ourselves to be remarkably tolerant with few exceptions. It must be understood by all, however, that the 9-11s, Ft Hoods, the foiled terrorist plots, the intolerant messages of hate spouting from the mouths of many Muslim religious leaders will one day reach the boiling point, which I think is fast approaching. It has become all too clear that we are now simply waiting for the next Ft Hood, the next Mumbai, the next 9-11. The anger among Americans is once again growing.

As one who is actively fighting anti-Semitism, the last thing I want to do is propagate hate against another minority population in this country. I still want to believe in my heart of hearts that the vast majority of Muslims in America are simply trying to live good, peaceful lives. I wish them no harm whatsoever. I have never agreed with those who have stated that Islam and the Koran should be banned from the US. But CAIR has to understand that Americans have every right to be drawing some pretty ugly conclusions. Video

by Maggie at Maggie's Notebook

In a developing story, the Federal Reserve called the heads of New York's largest banks to its lower Manhattan office earlier this week. According to some one speaking from the banks, the feds told the bankers to lower CEO compensation or....

The "precise" "or," is not known, but Judge Andrew Napolitano, sitting in for ailing Glenn Beck believe the banks have been told you WILL lower CEO compensation or the FDIC will begin an audit.

Following are quotes from Judge Napolitano (there may be an occasional word that is not exact, but it is very close). See the video below.

The CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York called the heads of New York's largest banks into the offices of his lower Manhattan offices.

We don't know precisely what was said but we do know that the head of the Fed told the assembled bankers that they must start cutting executive compensation, or the government will do it for them.

The government admits that it has no lawful authority to regulate compensation at banks that never received TARP funds or paid the funds back already.

So what was the extortion? Undoubtedly, it was a threat to have the FDIC audit the banks if they fail to tow the pay Czar's line. An FDIC audit will cost the banks tens of millions in employee loss of time and shareholder loss of value.

What is extortion? Extortion is a threat to perform a lawful act to influence the free will of someone else. Well, can the FDIC audit these banks? Yes. But may it do so to force executives to do what they have a lawful authority not to do? No.

Napolitano has a great panel that now discusses what has happened. Napolitano asks? Can the federal government, constitutionally interfer with use of private funds and private freely negotiated contracts? Listen to this conversation about extortion and demonization.

Remember that Obama's Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, was the head of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York when Obama tapped the tax-cheater to tend to our money.

Thanks much to David Lemon the master sculptor at Clay to Bronze.

Judge Napolitano - Government Extorts Banks? No comment from CAIR spokesman Nihad Awad that the murders may have been committed in the name of Allah. Awad didn't mention that there is a name for murders committed in the name of Allah - and that name is jihad. CAIR, by the way, is an un-indicted co-conspirator in the war on terror.

This article, written by Cynthia Tucker, supports CAIR's position. The CAIR press release is here.

While most Americans will no longer buy this, our courts will. While most Americans know that Islam is an ideology with a Koranic mission to eliminate infidels entirely, the government will not even begin to explore that truth. It is a fact that many Muslims who live their lives peacefully, know that others inside the "faith" are committing jihad, and they do nothing to stop it. It is also a fact, that to abolish jihad from the "faith" is to abandon Islam.

Cynthia Tucker says is probably not a "teachable moment from this horror," and she cautions that the Army must focus more on stress-plagued soldiers.

There were about 7 hours of teachable moments yesterday - for some, those hours will never end - those hours will be the defining moments in their lives. The Army was already investigating Hasan. Tell me what they could have done with him, without cries of discrimination? There is nothing they could do except:

(1) let him out of the Army after paying thousands for his education, and send the message that if you don't want to go to a war zone, just let us know and we'll fix it for you, or

(2) deny all promotions and try to keep him quiet in an environment where men and women know they will on a battlefield fighting the same ideology that Major Hasan believed so intensely in.

How many centuries has this been going on and we still reject that Islam is anything but peaceful?

There has never been a time, anywhere in the world, that Islam was not the aggressor. No, not every Muslim is radical, but can anyone show me one instance, even within the Military, where Muslims personally want to put an end to Islam's threat to infidels?

We do not know the details of each and every Muslim serving alongside our Military. That's the problem. What are we asking Muslims to do when deployed to a war zone fighting the war on terror. We are asking Muslims to kill Muslims, knowing that their "faith" teachs that only Muslims can, and should, survive. I know many Muslims are serving this country, but, really, I ask again, will they tell you they want to put an end to Islam's threat to infidels? Will they?

My predictions:

(1) If Hasan lives, he will go to prison. I'm hearing this afternoon that he is paralyzed, so if he lives he will not go to prison - and no, being paralyzed is not punishment enough.

(2) The soldiers at Ft. Hood will be blamed for harassing Hasan for his religious beliefs. "Stress" will be used to excuse Major Hasan's actions.

(3) No one can answer how a solider is supposed to react to a man among them, saying that America is the aggressor in Iraq. There is no answer, because every right answer is discrimination.

(4) Most Americas will no longer support the Muslim cries of "discrimination," but our leaders will. Our troops will continue to serve side-by-side with Muslim soldiers who do not believe in the war on terror and are not fully committed to eradicating jihad.

(5) Fort Hood will happen again, somewhere, in some way.

Maggie M. Maybe I need to calm down a little too. I must say that I am concerned about senseless acts of retribution that may be carried out against innocent people in this country, and I pray that does not happen. Last night, I watched all three cable news networks to see how they were treating this incident. As usual, MSNBC dragged up the rear.

CNN and Fox did what they had to do; report the news as it came in. Of course, everybody was for hours under the erroneous impression that the shooter, Nidal Malik Hasan had been killed. That was not corrected until the news conference held at Ft Hood. It was also unavoidable to report that Hasan, a Muslim psychiatrist under orders to go to Iraq, was angry about his orders and had made statements to his fellow soldiers about Muslims rising up against the "aggressor" (US Military). It quickly became clear from eye-witness accounts that Hasan was angry about our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. CNN also obtained copies of Hasan's writings from a website referring to suicide bombings. Now it is reported that Hasan was yelling, "Allahu Akbar" as he went on his rampage.

Yet, MSNBC, at least Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, refused to report what appears to be the all-important motive; that Hasan's religious feelings had a role to play in his action. Both refused to even mention the fact that Hasan was a Muslim. Olbermann wanted to know how an Army psychiatrist, trained to help soldiers in combat, could fall victim to the same problem. Incredibly, Maddow interviewed two writers from Salon and Rolling Stone (or was it Village Voice?), who discussed the issue of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. The latter writer described the recent spate of murders in and around Ft Carson, Colorado by veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Maddow wanted to know if there were any parallels between Ft Hood and Ft Carson!!

Actually, Rachel, the answer is no. Hasan was clearly not suffering from PTSS since he had not been to either theater-unless you want to call it "Pre-Traumatic Stress Syndrome").

If we give MSNBC the benefit of the doubt and take the position that they were trying to head off angry reactions toward American Muslims, that has merit. However, as a news organization, how long do they think they can keep the lid on that issue of motive?

Like it or not, America has suffered a major tragedy, and wherever the truth leads, the motive for this act cannot be covered up.

Jihadis Attack Fort Hood!

By Findalis of Monkey in the Middle

For some years now there has been a lax attitude in background checks for members of the military. This is especially true of Muslim members of the military. This attitude is the result of CAIR forcing the military to adopt such position towards Muslims.

Today this has hit the US Army right in the stomach with the rampage at Fort Hood by Major Malik Nadal Hasan:

Eleven people plus a gunman were dead and 31 wounded after the gunman opened fire Thursday on a soldier-processing center at Fort Hood, Texas, officials said.

The gunman was a soldier, and two other soldiers have been detained as suspects, Army Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said.

The slain gunman was identified as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, according to a law enforcement source. The source believes he is 39 or 40 years old.

Ten of the other dead also were soldiers, while the remaining one was a civilian police officer who was working as a contractor on the base, Cone said.

Two of the injured were in "very serious" condition, Fort Hood spokesman Christopher Hogue said.

The primary shooter had two weapons, both handguns, he said.

"The local police response forces were there relatively quickly and killed the confirmed shooter," Cone said.

President Obama called the shootings "tragic" and "a horrific outburst of violence." He expressed his condolences for the shooting victims.

"These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk, and at times give, their lives to protect the rest of us on a daily basis," Obama said. "It's difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil."

Officials at Fort Hood, which is the Army's largest U.S. post, were asking people there to stay away from windows, CNN affiliate KXXV said. The incident took place at the sports dome, now known as the soldier readiness area, the station reported.

A congressional aide said he was on the post to attend a graduation service when he saw a soldier with blood on his uniform near the building where the service was being held, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

My prayers go out to the families of the dead and wounded. I ask each of my readers to include the dead and wounded in their prayers.

It is time that full background checks are done for each person in the military. Especially those of the Muslim faith. When the facts come to light, we shall find that Major Hasan was a member of CAIR (the US political arm of Hamas in the United States), the Muslim American Society (MAS), or even Hizbollah or al Qaeda.

In April Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned that returning veterans would become involved in terrorism and anti-government activities. These veterans she inferred would be angry white men.

Secretary Napolitano should stop looking at white, male veterans and start looking at the Muslim community pronto!

I ask our leaders to stop appeasing those who wish to destroy us. I ask that we go very hard against those who wish to destroy us.

These attacks will only continue and get worse until we either destroy the enemy or cave into all of their demands. Given the attitude of our President, he will surrender as soon as he can!

Kosovo-Who Knew?

Cross-posted by Gary Fouse
fousesquawk

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/Su8fGWAixbI/AAAAAAAACxw/N-ifDMlllRU/s400/Pristina_City_2004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399568672088049074" />
Pristina, Kosovo

Hey folks! Fousesquawk here to introduce Europe's newest tourist destination-Pristina, Kosovo. That's right. Now that they have unveiled the sparkling new gold-sprayed Bill Clinton Monument, you'll need to book your reservations early to avoid the upcoming summer rush.

But since you have obviously never been to Pristina-unless you are a military vet, you'll need directions to find your way to the Clinton Monument. Here you go. Write this down.

After arriving at the Paula Jones Airport, you exit right onto the Hillary Highway into town. (or you can take the Low Road. It's all the same.) Make a right hand turn on Ken Starr Street and proceed a couple of miles passing the Monica Mall on your left. At this point, you'll find yourself right smack dab in the Government quarter. On your left, you will see the former Palace of Justice-now the Palace of Perjury. It sits right across from the former Ministry of Justice-now re-named the Ministry of Obstruction of Justice-in Clinton's honor of course
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 294px; height: 344px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/Su8fLfyutiI/AAAAAAAACx4/q3o5lQrCWgc/s400/BillClinton_185641t.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399568760613811746" />
"I don't think that's funny."

There are also other interesting government buildings in the area, like the Bureau of Bribery and Federal Pardon Office under the Finance Ministry. As you exit the government quarter, there are some great Chinese restaurants you might want to visit while in town, like Charlie Trie's or Johnny Chung's. Keep going straight until you see Podesta Plaza.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 294px; height: 344px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/Su8fLfyutiI/AAAAAAAACx4/q3o5lQrCWgc/s400/BillClinton_185641t.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399568760613811746" />
"I don't think that's funny."

Go around the plaza 8 or 9 times then bear left on K Street (for Kosovo). If you get lost, just stop and ask one of the K Street whores for directions. (That's what Alan Grayson does when he's in town.) Actually, you will see it by then, towering above the rooftops and skyline. Don't worry about parking. There are plenty of interns to park your car.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 324px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/Su8ffhJQv6I/AAAAAAAACyA/ZeEBd_WLuII/s400/bill-clinton-photograph-c10102849.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399569104574136226" />
"Now that's funny."

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_oOJMYL8TW6E/Su8fxsvNhNI/AAAAAAAACyI/N_KuMLhaKes/s400/clinton.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399569416923743442" />
Behold!
