First of all, we have been getting ready for school. Jihad, my stepson, is now living with us, and he starts 4th grade on Monday. We are all excited at the start of the new year and hope to get a lot from it.

Today we went to Fisk and had an incredible day. I have a new appreciation for the history of the institution and all that it symbolizes. We took the kids there so they start to understand the importance and significance of having an education.

I've been using it for about three days now and I love it.
Unfortunately, I'm not at work and I forgot to grab some screenshots, but I am finding it very helpful in keeping track of who has sent me what files and email. I highly recommend it.

Kalonji is a college graduate! He just received an email from his school, Liberty University, that his degree has been conferred. We are so excited! Actually, the degree is quite unexpected as he was told that he had one more course to take before he could graduate, but he certainly had the requisite number of credits to graduate.

We took Kaleya to go see Kung Fu Panda last night. It was very cute and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would! Kaleya is so funny; she runs around making hand movements like they do in the movie. Kalonji and I have considered putting her in karate for the past year so we are hoping this movie gets her motivated. This weekend was my professional organization's annual conference. This year it was in Chicago. It was a very quick trip, I flew in on Saturday and flew out Sunday evening, but though it was short, I was quite busy the whole time.

He is the cutest cat - Kalonji told me it was the same cat that he'd seen before a few weeks ago. However, this time, the cat did not have his collar on. Here are my results. I pretty much agree - I don't have much of an accent. Although, I had a friend tell me once that the only thing that I say with a southern accent is "North Carolina." When you ask me where I'm from, I pronounce it "Care-lina" -- and seem to skip the second syllable completely. Today we took Kaleya to Kalonji's lodge for an Easter egg hunt and it was fun. There were at least 40 kids there I think and everyone seemed to rake up! Kaleya was looking forward to this for the past several days and she couldn't wait to wear her new dress.
