This move increases the overall coverage area of the station (KEC85). The new coverage pattern is slightly to the northeast compared to the old; however, the Jesup, GA transmitter provides a strong signal to the parts of southeastern Georgia which will now be in the KEC85 fringe area. I just got
word last week that the transmitter and antenna will be installed by the
end of this week. Once they are installed, we will just have to wait on
the telephone lines to get hooked up. I’m hoping that will only take a
couple of weeks.

The station will broadcast on the frequency 162.425 MHz. This is coming
online just in time for the winter season.

I won’t be sure of the coverage area until it is up and running, but I’m
hoping it will range from near Hyannis to near Thedford and then from
Tryon to the North Loup River northwest of Brownlee. Of course, your
reception will be dependent on your location (i.e. in a valley or on a
hill).Joelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06728388982478209450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987265282127385059.post-17990006331783675162007-10-30T00:04:00.000-05:002008-01-28T21:06:44.651-06:00New station in MontanaGlentana, MT
KPS507, 162.525 MHz, 100 W, NWS GlasgowJoelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06728388982478209450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987265282127385059.post-60568455654855687292007-10-11T13:17:00.000-05:002008-01-28T21:06:24.369-06:00New station in CaliforniaSandberg, CA

WZ2505, 162.400 MHz, NWS Oxnard

Effective radiated power appears to be 300 watts.

This is the first weather radio station in the U.S. to have a two-letter + four-digit call sign.
