In the UK, the recession is deepening and more and more families are beginning to struggle. In the US, especially in certain states, the economy is struggling to recover. All of this means that it is time to take advantage of companies that will buy things from you and give you cash for your next big rainy day.

Gold jewelry is in demand at the moment because gold is not losing its value. As such, you can sell your jewelry for ready cash or even buy gold jewelry in order to keep your cash safe. Either way, you can be sure that you get your money's worth.

Mobile phones are always great for earning extra cash if you have the odd one laying about. Check out the list of useful sites on the right hand sidebar. If I've heard that once I've heard it a thousand times but most people have more than the environment on their minds right now. Making ends meet for one! However, maybe, just maybe, now is the time to go green because choosing to make your home more energy efficient need not be expensive and yet can save you a lot of cash.

Take the number of ebooks on how to build your own solar panels and wind turbines as a prime example. You can build them or less than $200 and yet save thousands. This is possible but it does take time and can be rather complex. There are smaller ways to get moving on going green and saving money, such as switching your lightbulbs to energy efficient ones, such as those offered by Progress lighting. You could turn down your refrigerator a little. As it is summer, making sure your heating system is completely off will also help.

My advice - start small because you never know how much money you could save.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-81854235031924539522009-06-15T01:51:00.002+01:002009-06-15T01:55:33.480+01:00Where Is My Memory? Note About Technology! In the post I completed about thirty minutes ago I forgot to say one thing - never pay extra for built in upgrades because they are never as good value as they seem to be. Take a computer memory upgrade for example. If you have it built into the machine then a) you will have to pay through te nose for the "superior model" b) you do not get to keep it when you replace your laptop. The only way around this it to buy the memory separate and you will find that the value for money is much greater and enduring!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-14897892570612210412009-06-15T01:37:00.003+01:002009-06-15T01:49:03.084+01:00Technology Tips: Save Money But Buy The Right LaptopAs a writer, my laptop is like my rigt arm. If I lost it then I'd be absolutely devestated but I will have to spend a little money in the coming weeks because mine is on its way out. Apparently, the lifespan of a laptop is around 3 to 4 years. This is nowhere near long enough for me and I am surprised that mine is still going considering the use it gets, but I am going to put it to good use now and pass on a few tips about saving money but getting the right laptop for you!

I want a Sony Vaio. Simple as that... but I didn't think that I was going to be able to get one because I'd always found them quite expensive, but then I guess you pay for quality. Anyway, the Sony Vaio is reputable and supposed to be one of the best possible options for professionals that make good use of their technology. In other words, it will stand the test of time and provide you with great value for money. This is the first tip as a result - always work out how long the laptop will last in relation to how much use it will get and then that will give you an idea of the value for money it will offer over the years.

Another tips is that you should never settle for the first option. Sony currently offers a range of models, all of which are of high quality but come in at varying prices. Hint - CS Laptops or NS Series machines are apparently for the "price savvy shopper". A such, you will get a good price for a great machine and fantastic value or money. Of course, this applies to all ranges and brands but be sure to check into the full inventory.

Finally, check out the list of features. If you have to pay extra for something like Microsoft Office and need it then add the cost of the software package onto the cost of the laptop. Does it still offer god value for money or is theresomething else out there? This is a valid question and one that needs answering... as make sure that you ask!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-70787535379013449312009-06-11T22:35:00.001+01:002009-06-15T01:16:39.686+01:00Save Money On Your Father's Day PresentsFather's Day is fast approaching and one of the few days of the year that you cannot ignore. On June 21st, we celebrate all fathers that have been there for us and done their jobs raising us as best they can. However, showing your appreciation this year may not be as easy as it has been in years gone by. People are losing money left, right and centre. Unemployment is rising. The cost of living is rising. As such, very few of us have any form of disposable income. As such, it is time to get creative to show dad just how much we apreciate him!

Personal presents are the way to go this year and maybe even sharing the price of a more expensive gift with siblings. Take the digital frame at buy.com. There are plenty to choose from of varying prices but can be personalised and provide your father with an excellent gift without breaking the bank. This is an excellent present if you do want to spend something. If you could do with saving the cash completely for bills and food then you still have options!

Although people do not do it anymore, why not make a mix CD or an MP3 mix on his computer. Why not just cook for him and clean his car? There are so many ideas that are cheap, creative and yet mean a lot. Write a poem, do his chores for a week... just do something nice! There are plenty of ways to show how much you can without spending a fortune so just take a quick look around the Internet and I am sure that you will find the inspiration that you are looking for for Father's Day!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-88223539102633900822009-06-08T09:43:00.000+01:002009-06-15T10:01:25.779+01:00Essential Insurance Tip: Read The Small Print!Trying to get a hold of value for money on your financial products is essential in this recession if you want to survive financially with your bank balance as intact as possible. This means examining all the insurance policies you have in great detail and reading every single word of the small print to make sure that there are no clauses that could leave you out of pocket.

All insurance policies, from car insurance to home insurance to health insurance, have clauses that could potentially prevent you from claiming. Some are fair and just but others are absolutely ridiculous. For example, if you find yourself in hospital after a mortorbike accident then many policies will not pay for your health casts because they deem that other insurances should be liable for that so you may have to claim compensation through a Pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney to pay your bills, which is obviously more stressful. This also applies to other policies. You may be able to claim for your mobile hone if you lose it outside of the home but if you have travel insurance then they may tell you to claim on that. The travel insurance company may then refuse to pay the costs because your home insurance should... Get the picture? You will be going round and round in circles!

As such, the first thing you should do this week is check all of your policies and call to clarify any issues you have. Afterwards, if you are still not clear, then look for a policy that is transparent and offers you the best peace of mind as well as value for money!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-69474303454090771402009-06-05T00:10:00.002+01:002009-06-09T00:12:46.753+01:00Question Of The Day: Do You Really Need That?If one of your financial goals is frugality then you should have one major rule to live by. It's actually a question and it should really be your mantra:

"Do I Relly Need That?"

Although it is fair to say that some people are currently facing financial difficulties through no fault of their own, others have over spent, maxed out their credit and are now desperately trying to get back on track. Either way, the time for judgemnt is over and the time for action is upon us so now everyone needs to start asking whether they need items or simply want them. The two are very different things and asking whether or not you need something can really help you to achieve frugality and fulfil your financial goals.

There are certain rules that apply to his mantra. Most modern technologies should only be purchased when you have saved enough to be able to afford them rather than purchased because they are wanted. Of course, there are modern conveniences that some people consider to be essential. Take ipods for example. Many cannot live without them because they replace a stereo and work on the go. As such, it really is a judgement call, but they can be found for very reaosnable prices these days. Just make sure that you are a savvy consumer and do what is right for you to help you achieve frugality!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-73630830493205637082009-06-02T09:06:00.002+01:002009-06-05T00:16:20.796+01:00Two More Survey Panels For Extra CashI haven't added any new survey panels for a while but I recently found two that I really think will interest anyone ooking to make extra cash or earn vouchers to help ease household spending.

Lightspeed UK is the first.

I joined Lightspeed and I have to say that I am really impressed with the site. It offers very regular surveys so your points accumulate quickly and easily. All of the surveys are easy to complete and, even better, they pay really well. As such, you will find that you can request a cash out in no time. This is now one of my favourites and well worth joining.

The second is Toluna

This is their spiel - "Join Toluna an interactive and international online community which enables you to make your voice heard. Be rewarded for your participation with vouchers for Amazon, Sainsburys and Halfords. Test the latest products for free in the comfort of your own home. Plus there is a monthly prize draw of £5000 with 20 guaranteed winners and a 1st prize of £2000 cash! Join today by clicking here!" I must add that it is really easy to earn points because there are always polls and surveys being added so you can order your vouchers in no time.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-27095805465837687272009-05-26T10:24:00.003+01:002009-05-31T22:42:12.841+01:00Make Extra Money By Becoming An AffiliateI've dealt with just how good survey sites are for earning a little extra cash in recent months but you may be looking more and more to the Internet to earn money i the current recession. After all, web services seem to offer better value than high street ones and thus are not really suffering at the moment. Those of you with your own blog or website may have been thinking of using it to earn a little extra cash in recent times by offering products or services via it. There are plenty out there regardless of the nature or topic of your site.

Becoming an affiliate does have a lot of advantages. First of all, it can provide a steady stream of income if you know how to do it. For example, if you run a weight loss blog with a readership that tends to be female and between the ages of 20 and 45 becoming affiliated with some of the top weight loss products that are highlighted behind the link may well attract sales. If you have a blog that deals with cars or clothing then look for stores that offer a percentage of all sales that you send their way. If you are self employed and have your own website then you may want to offer services and products hat would appeal to customers heading to your site as well. It is easy to work out your target market and sell to them if you know how.

Being an affiliate does require a little research, as outlined above, but if you put in a little initial work then you could potentially build a passive income stream that will supplement your income and help you to make it through this tough time.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-58790382552840921222009-05-24T23:04:00.002+01:002009-05-25T10:08:52.494+01:00Organise But Protect Your Finances To Survive RecessionOrganising your finances is an absolute must at the moment. With recession upon us and people rightly watching every penny being frugal is the key to surviving. However, there are many reasons why your should organise your finances and various ways how you can do just that.

For starters, you need to be able to identify the exact total of your outgoings every month and pinpoint areas in which you can save. I found plenty when I started to organise my finances and am startong to seriously streamline the household (more about why and my financial goals in my next post). However, organising your finances will not only enable you to save money and streamline expensiture but will also enable you to keep track of how much you can afford to save, the level of your debts and help to plan for future expenses. Of course, nobody knows what they will have to spend on extras from one month to the next. For example, out washing machine broke this month so we are having to pay for another. As such, you will be able to identify what you can afford quickly to prevent budgeting mistakes.

So how can you do this? Well, there are software programs that you can use to organise your finances effectively. Most are easy to use and can really help you to see exactly where you are going wrong or indeed going right. However, you may want to use a simple spreadsheet to collate the data. This will obviously save you money. Whichever method you choose, you should make sure that all of your financial information is well protected because you do not want anyone to have access and thus leave yourself open to identity theft. As such, it is an idea to backup your details in a secure way. For example, you may purchase memory cards for this purpose and keep them somewhere safe. You should also use password protecton for anything stored on your computer. Be safe and get organised. That way, you will be better equipped to deal with any financial blips in the future.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-74620085300490942572009-05-20T22:59:00.001+01:002009-05-25T00:53:43.387+01:00The Importance Of Protecting Your MortgagePoliticians from all over the world keep going on about how the economic situation is improving and how their economies are starting to emerge from recession. The vast majority of them are talking complete and utter rubbish. The depths of this economic crisis go above and beyond anything that most of us have ever experienced in our lifetimes. The repossesion or foreclosure rates offer proof of that. More and more people are finding themselves homeless or having their homes sold from under them as a result of the economic crisis. If you have yet to experience that then take action now to make sure that your home remains firmly in your possession:

# Overpay on your mortgage where possible. This may only be a little extra every month but it will help you to get ahead whilst you can afford it just in case your financial situation should change later on. If you cannot overpay then pu the extra into a separate savings account just in case you may need it. Make sure that separate account is not with a bank that you have any debts with though as some are starting to claim savings as payment for outstanding debts in the UK. They are within their rights to do so, so make sure that the money is safe.

# Switch deals if you are able. If you are not tied into a deal at the moment then check out your options. You may be able to pay a cheaper rate on another deal and thus could save money and maybe even afford to overpay.

# Protect yourself with term life insurance or your regional equivalent. If you or your partner should die then the one left behind would struggle at the moment so make sure you have something in place to protect you just in case. You may also want to look into other forms of insurance too like critical illness and unemployment.

# Contact your lender at the first sign of difficulty. Although some are better than others, keeping them up to date is more likely to get a result than ignoring them. If you need more time then tell them as they want to get the full loan back, which they would not if they repossessed your home and thus will often be happy to help you out.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-11180453077429028272009-05-15T01:20:00.002+01:002009-06-15T01:29:55.259+01:00Prioritise Health Insurance And Health Care In A RecessionYour health is important.

I felt that deserved a line of its very own because I feel that people are already starting to neglect their health because of the recession. Although we have the NHS here in the UK, that is not to say that some people are not avoiding health care professionals as they are in the US... because they are. We still have to pay for dental care and optical care, even if it is a nominal fee. We have to pay for prescriptions and alternative treatments. Although you have to pay for complete health care in the states, any extra cost is too much in some households and so people from all over the world are risking their health by avoiding seeking treatment for medical problems. This is a no-no!

The financial situation in this household is very precarious at the moment. With various bills to pay, we do struggle but I prioritise health care. I can understand why peple do not but it is worth looking into a plan that will help to spread the costs. Some doctors and practitioners, such as the
Frisco Dentist, will offer financing options in the US, but it is worth looking into health insurance or payment plans like HSA regardless of where you live. No matter what your costs when you seek treatment, you can help yourself and give your family's health a chance to get through the recession with flying colours!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-35431409897917835832009-05-13T21:00:00.003+01:002009-05-31T23:52:45.177+01:00Online Vs In Store During The RecessionAs a direct result of the recession, more and more people are looking to save money. They are comparing prices for goods in store and on Internet comparison sites. They are looking for deals and using discount codes and coupons to try and save even a few pence. There are plenty of reasons why individuals are doing this and it often varies from household to household. However, there is currently a debate between experts as to whether buying online is the way to go or comparing on the high street. You need to decide whether you should be buying online or in stores.

There are positives and negatives associated with both buying online and in stores today. For example, stores on the Internet usually offer lower prices because they have lower overheads but you cannot negotiate a better price with them. Similarly, you cannot see the products before you buy them so you do stand to lose money to a scam. For example, it is a well known fact that buying weight loss pills off reputable companies is worth it as a result of the cash you can save but if you buy them off the cheapest store without checking out its reputation then you may be buying placebos! The same applies to furniture, clothing and anything else you may buy online. The company has to be reputable.

However, buying in store does have its drawbacks because you cannot take something bac without a legitmate reason. You can send items back to stores on the Internet if you do not like them because you had yet to see them when you bought. Similarly, purchasing online is often more convenient as you can control your spending ad hve items delivered to you. As such, it is worth considering saving money online in this way.

You have to weigh up the pros and cons and decide for yourself. it is worth buying some goods online but never buying others in that way. Take a look at your options if you want to save money in this recession but not at the cost of your health or overall financial security.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-70349695521260389852009-05-10T20:46:00.003+01:002009-05-10T21:29:08.866+01:00Protect Your Home Against Rising CrimeTwo nights ago my friend's house was broken into. Her belongings were either ruined or stolen and she was absolutely heartbroken, not to mention scared to stay in her own home. Her grandmother's jewellery was stolen and is irreplaceable given the senitmental value of the pieces. The police said that there is virtually no chance of recovering the items because there has been a crime spree in the area in recent weeks.

Why? The recession, rising unemployment, rising repossessions... People are now turning to crime to feed their families rather than their habits. As such, innocents are effectively being screwed over and losing everything. Luckily enough, my friend has home insurance so she should be able to claim back everything she lost. I've also told her to get a dog but she isn't sure that she can give it enough time and attention. Instead, she's looking around for a new alarm system. Her's broke last year and thinking it wouldn't matter, she failed to get it repaired. Big mistake!

She is now having a wireless alarm fitted this week but it is a little too late. The moral of the story? Get an alarm fitted, make sure that you have home insurance and protect your home as far as possible. You may not have been at risk of buglaries before but you most definitely are now as a result of the recession so make sure you have the security that you want and need.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-36416023469854631002009-05-06T10:47:00.003+01:002009-05-10T21:03:37.009+01:00Stay Healthy And Save Money On Food!Heading to the supermarket today is a nightmare for me given how expensive everything seems to be. Every time I get to the checkout my bill seems to have gone up and my old budget really is no longer affordable now we are trying to save enough to get a mortgage. As such, I picked up some hints and tips for saving a little cash on groceries. They allow me to eat healthily and save more money than I thought would be possible so here are some of them for your food shopping:

# Make a list and never go shopping without one. A list will have everything you need for the week on it so only buy what is written down. This way you will save money and get everything you need in one go!
# Search for coupons online. If you always stick to buying the same products and brands and take a look around the Internet, you will find that there will probably be money off coupons available for them. It might only save pennies but every little helps! Do not buy everything you find a coupon for though otherwise you will probably spend too much on stuff you do not need. For example, if you find a coupon for Solo Slim but do not buy it usually then are you really going to use it now? No! Always look for coupons if you do use it but avoid if not.
# Shop online. You can keep track of your budget and avoid picking up stuff that you would not usually buy as well!
# Try discount supermarkets and always purchase own brands. There is very little difference in terms of quality but you will find that own labels and discount stores cost far less.
# Avoid offers. I wrote this on abother of my blogs and will now quote it because it really is a fantastic tip, even if I do say so myself: "This may sound a little funny because offers are a good thing… and they are if you need the item that is on offer. If you do not need it then don’t buy it. Don’t let the pricetag tempt you! However, if you routinely use something that is on offer then stock up. Toilet rolls, toothpaste, sugar, coffee etc… all are items that keep for some time so stocking up when they are on offer will save you a lot of cash!"

So there you go - now watch how many pennies you save!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-60021041341979443042009-05-03T20:45:00.002+01:002009-05-10T21:17:53.204+01:00Is Now The Time To Buy White Goods? If you have read this blog before then you will know that I participate in surveys for a little extra cash from time to time (mainly those listed down the side of the page on here!) but one question surprised me in one I took today - do you think that now is the time to purchase white goods?

My initial answer was no. After all, why would I buy anything new formy home when my old stuff is working fine as it is? Why pay good money that can be used for food, bills, energy and so on when I do not need the item in question? Well, that is the argument against but the argument for is just as compelling providing that you have the money to spare.

For example, say you wanted to buy a refrigerator because the seal is slowly but surely going on your old one. Why wait it out until it does go and risk being without a refrigerator and losing all of the food that was in there as well? If you know you will need something then you should take advantage of some of the amazing offers that are waiting for you righ now. You can find some fantastic bargains out there because companies are trying to attract your custom. They are competitive because they have to be so at the moment or else they may go under. Some companies are even offering price matches to ensure that you give them your business wherever possible. A prime example is this website offering tv stands. You get free shipping and a $10 Off Price-Match and many other websites are offering similar.

All of the above is another reason why you should begin to look around for offers that can save you money with the moral of the story being overall that if you need something (not want but need) and have the money then now is the time!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-5487066326324799752009-05-01T08:35:00.003+01:002009-05-02T17:21:54.679+01:00Vacation Suggestions That Will Save You Hundreds!I've taken to looking at forums on the Internet about saving money and making money recently because I found one by accident and now I'm hooked. There are so many people out there wanting to help people across the other side of the world... and yet some people cannot be bothered to help their neighbours! Anyway, I found a great post on saving money on vacations and how to have a fab holiday without spending very much so I thought I'd post a slimmed down version on here:

* Go stay with friends that live elsewhere in the world and provide a vacation place for them to. Returning the favour will provide you both with a holiday and help you to share the expenses of a vacation as well.
* Travel on a ferry rather than by car or plane. The tickets are really cheap, especially those available around Europe... and it's more environmentally friendly too!
* Ge your friends together and hire an rv. You get to have your own private vacation, share the costs and it is much cheaper than staying in a hotel or hiring a cabin etc.
* Go camping! Pick out a spot you want to spend time in and take a tent with you. If you have never tried camping before and think you might hate it then try it because you may be surprised. Borrow the tent if you have to!
* Finally, if you save ipoints or air miles then cash them in. Of course, you may need quite a few but check out all the loyalty schemes that you are a part of and see how many you can redeem for cash or vouchers towards a holiday.

There you have it then - a few ideas to get you started! Cheap holidays and vacations here we come.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-52221377101453997642009-04-27T12:35:00.001+01:002009-05-02T00:44:35.471+01:00Taking Care Of Your Debt PrioritiesI have blogged about debt priorities before but it occurred to me today when I was working out the bills for the coming month that they are more important than ever in the wake of the credit crunch and ensuing recession. Believe it or not, many people are still confused by such terms but now is definitely the time to learn.

For example, your debt priorities are those payments that are of paramount importance every month and absolutely HAVE to be paid. Your mortgage or rent and utilities bills come in this category. Any other credit payments or expenses that you may have are secondary. The exception to this rule is insurance as you will often find that your insurance policies become invalid if you miss a payment. As such, you should be splitting your monthly outgoings in line with this principle. Pay what needs to be paid first and then deal with other payments that are necessary. Similarly, if you get a windfall, such as a mesothelioma payment or a compensation payment of any sort (let's face it, much more likely than winning more than £10 on the lottery), then you shouls use it to pay a little off the mortgage or settle any outstanding debt priorities you have. Once they are sorted, save some and pay the rest of further debts. You will get peace if mind and feel better for the financial safety net in the credit crunch!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-24766371417338675742009-04-18T01:43:00.002+01:002009-04-18T01:49:56.347+01:00The Recession, Crime Rates And Your IdentityDid you know that crime rates have already started to increase thanks to the global recession that is having a huge impact on the world? Crime statistics have reported a surge in robberies, home invasions and other crimes that reolve around theft but nothing is more scary than the statistics about identity theft. It is the fastest growing crime around the world, affecting more than 9 million annually in America alone. Unfortunately, that number is set to rise.

There could be nothing worse than falling victim to identity theft at the moment because if you are struggling to pay the bills and keep up with debts, or even if you are still able to pay them effectively, then someone stealing your identity is the last thing you need. If someone ruins your credit now then imagine what difficulties you will have in the coming months and years of recession should you need to apply for a loan or a credit card.

There are plenty of identity theft protection measures that you can take, including shredding documents, cancelling old credit sources and even taking out insurance but please make sure that you do take steps to protect yourself before it is too late.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-90409784224632548792009-04-17T09:00:00.002+01:002009-06-01T00:06:30.056+01:00Final Point About Online Reviews!OK - final point about online reviews I promise! Check out the Clinicallix reviews behind the link. They have a percentage scale and a facility for consumers to either "like" or "dislike" it and vote either way. The votes mean just as much as the text does because it represents views of people like you. The more votes the better is the general rule because you get a greater idea of the overall opinion of a product. Websites like Ciao! (which is linked to in the sidebar) also have this facility so use it wherever possible before buying anything online!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-81412461755888285112009-04-16T10:48:00.000+01:002009-04-20T10:59:58.995+01:00Avoid The Internet Sales Trap Part 2!Last week I wrote about avoiding the sales trap when you receive an email or found a website that offered the best product for this, that and the other. However, reading it back, I reaslised that I had missed off one absolutely essential tip that you should use to your own advantage - the beauty of CONSUMER reviews.

I realised that all the tips I gave actually referred to professional reviews versus sales letters. Well, there is another form of review you can usually trust. The consumer review is excellent for working out just how useful a product is. They are generally honest (take a look at nuphedra review for an example). Providing that they sound like a real person wrote them rather than reading like a professional recommendation then the likelihood is that someone has written the review because they want to help others so try to find a few consumer reviews for the best opinion!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-48294633972122438192009-04-11T01:20:00.002+01:002009-04-11T01:22:57.375+01:00Business Advertising Opportunities And Extra Cash Blogging OpportunitiesJust a quick post today guys to let you know about a new initiative that Today.com has opened up for all of us bloggers as well as other companies and individuals that are looking to take advantage of a little cost effective advertising to help combat the credit crunch.

If you own a company or are looking to promote your services then right here is the place to reach millions of people. Is it just me or have the number of ads sent to inboxes gone up? Is it a cost effective way of advertising or a way to annoy everyone beyond belief? I am sick of it, especially when I look at the ads and see sales copy that has blatantly been composed by someone that has neve tried the product.

Unfortunately, more and more people are falling for clever sales copy and spending money that they can ill afford on products that are of unbelievably poor value. You need to avoid this rubbish and make sure that you do purchase the best products for you. So how do you spot the sales copy that you should avoid with a barge pole?

Well, first of all, look for a balanced review. It should have pros and cons, significant information that implies someone has tried the product (strong opinions that relate specifically to one element of the product) and an overall view of whether it is value for money. Any reviews that seem overly biased should not be trusted and any reviews that say a product is not a scam should be disregarded because they would not feel the need to say that if it was not the company promoting the product.

If you want to see an actual review that has obviously been completed by someone that has tried the product and remained unbased throughout then this Colonix page will help you to figure out what to look for.

Down with rubbish sales letters! Say hello to consumer power and knowledge!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-45328932019499981612009-04-03T01:23:00.002+01:002009-04-11T01:28:57.515+01:00Easter Vacations At Low PricesSo this is my third post in a row about holidays and vacations... can you tell that I'm desperate to go on holiday and get away from the stresses and strains of the world at the moment. I think everyone could do with that to be honest. Anyway, just a quick post today about an offer I saw online a few days ago. Westgate is currently offering weekend breaks for $149 per person, which is incredibly cheap given just how expensive some of their breaks usually are. If you are interested in booking a trip over Easter or even into the summer then you should look at this offer now before it expires.

I might actually start posting bargains and coupon codes on here as well as financial information. Let me know what you think.

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4910562146443219700.post-91885967776591241402009-03-28T21:49:00.003Z2009-05-05T17:02:09.392+01:00More On Making The Most Of Free Offers...The last post I wrote dealt with making the most of every penny for your vacation and I mentioned hotels that allow pets to stay so you do ot have to fork out for kennel fees as well. There are other ways that you can make the most of your cash when it comes to vacation accommodation.

Make the most of vacation offers!!!

There are plenty of those around at the moment including the free hotel night and the children go free offers. For the most part these are good value for money but a word of warning - beware the smallprint. You often have to fulfil certain conditions, such as booking a certain amount of nights or booking for so many people. You may not qualify for the offer and thus end up paying more than you expect. If you check the smallprint before you book then you could end up with a bargain and not a drain on your stretched finances!

Louhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483486666770007599noreply@blogger.com0
