Patrick Swayze dies aged 57

Hollywood star Patrick Swazye has died aged 57.
In January last year he was diagnosed as having advanced stage four pancreatic cancer. He had been battling the disease for almost 2 years when he died. He chose to make his battle public because of premature rumours of his death circulating for quite some time.

A statement by Annett Wolf quoted by the Associated Press said "Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months."

The Times online published a tribute entitled "Women loved Patrick Swayze, and men wanted to be him."

The UK Press Association (UKPA) has reported the "red carpet tributes" as many actors at Toronto's International Film Festival had the news broken to them by reporters literally on the red carpet.

Patrick Swayze was best known for his roles in 1990's Ghost and 1987's Dirty Dancing.

Jackson's burial delayed

The date for Michael Jackson's burial has been pushed on to 3 September 2009 and no longer the date of what would have been his 51st birthday.

Previously it was revealed that Michael Jackson was to be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial park in Glendale on his birthday, 29 August 2009.
Ken Sunshine, a spokesman for the Jackson family, did not give a reason for the delay.

Michael Jackson to be buried on his 51st birthday August 29th

Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson has confirmed the date and burial place of his pop star son Michael.

AFP reports that Michael is to be buried at Los Angeles' Forest Lawn Cemetery, on what would have been his 51st birthday, 29 August 2009 at approximately 10am, quelling the rumours that there was to be a Neverland burial and shrine similar to Elvis Presley's Graceland.

This is the (until now) unreleased footage of the moment Michael Jackson's hair caught fire during filming for a Pepsi commercial in 1984.

An accidental early firing of some pyrotechnics set Michael's hair alight. It seems the singer doesn't appear to notice at first.

Michael Jackson dies aged 50

Pop icon Michael Jackson has died after suffering from a cardiac arrest in the early afternoon of 25th June 2009.

TMZ were the first to publish news of Jackson's death, hours before any other news body would risk confirming.
It is said that Michael was already dead when paramedics arrived at his Holmby Hills home. He was rushed to UCLA Medical Center.

TMZ also collated some celebrity twitter reactions.

Back in December 2008 author Ian Halperin caused a stir when he claimed in his Jackson biography that the singer was "seriously ill" and was "fighting for his life".

Christian Bale - The Dark Nut!

Most people will have heard all about Dark Knight actor, Christian Bale's raging rant on the set of Terminator Salvation.

And quite rightly, he has been catching some flak for acting like a violent, spoiled brat. Even though he has since apologised saying:

"I know I have a pottymouth, everybody knows that now. I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief ... I acted like a punk"

One wonders how often and bad, unrecorded/unreported attacks are allowed to go on, when directed at 'replaceable' people by the 'big star' of any film or TV show.

Interestingly, it was the film execs that sent the audio tape to the insurance company that had insured the film. Just in case Bale did go A.W.O.L.

Of course celebrity rants make for good parodies and there seems to be endless comedic takes on the event. The reliable celeb bashing, Family Guy, has of course recently aired an episode where Peter Griffin is the poor sap on the receiving end of the bawling Bale. The clip has been pulled from YouTube, but (at the moment of writing) TMZ still has the clip if you missed it.

But even Marvel Comics has jumped in with an episode of their new online video series, 'Marvel Super Heroes: What the --?!'
Of which the first episode doesn't even go online until early spring. but obviously the Bale rant was too good to pass up.

Boy George jailed for 15 months!

Boy George jailed for 15 months - Imprisoner becomes imprisoned.

Former Culture Club lead singer and current DJ, Boy George (real name George O'Dowd) has been jailed for 15 months.

The 47-year-old was charged with falsely imprisoning a male escort (Audun Carlsen) whom he met via Gay social networking site Gaydar.com.
Judge David Radford said the singer was guilty of "gratuitous violence", after it was alleged that Mr Carlsen was whipped with a chain.

O'Dowd handcuffed Mr Carlsen to a wall, refusing to let him go, believing him to of hacked into O'Dowd's computers. So now the imprisoner has become imprisoned - some might say that is karma (chameleon).

The actress, singer and all out sultry sex symbol Earth Kitt died of cancer on Christmas day aged 81.
Ironically, one of the things she is most famous for is the original recording of "Santa Baby" in 1953.

The actress has played many parts, but for most people her feline movement and purring speech made her the ultimate and 'purr'-fect catwoman. A part she filled in the 1960s Batman series.

Eartha Kitt's career spanned six decades and her life story can make for some sad reading.

Michael Jackson is "fighting for his life"!

Michael Jackson is said to be seriously ill.

According to Ian Halperin, the author behind a new biography of the singer, Michael Jackson is "seriously ill".

The author claims in his book that the pop star is suffering from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. A genetic illness that is potentially fatal.
Mr Halperin also claims Michael Jackson has developed emphysema and is losing vision in his left eye.

Boy George gets medeival on hacker's ass!

Pop singer/DJ Boy George is in court for his home-made version of 'chain mail'. Although, to be more precise it should be 'chain male'.

The former Culture Club singer (real name George O'Dowd) has been charged with false imprisonment after it was alleged that he handcuffed and chained a male escort (Auden Carlsen) to a wall at his home. Accusing him of hacking into his computers at home.

The two had initially met on the gay social networking site Gaydar.co.uk. They arranged to meet for a "pornographic photo shoot". It appears that shortly after that meeting, Boy George believed Auden Carlsen to have tampered with his home computers. The singer sent him several "bizarre" emails until eventually sending an email apologising for the tone of previous emails and requesting a second meet up. It was on this second meeting that Boy George and an unidentified other man, handcuffed and chained the male escort to the wall.

Wonder if Mr Carlsen asked "do you really want to hurt me?". That surely would have tipped Boy George over the edge. Haha.

Heather Locklear DUI charge!

Actress Heather Locklear has been charged with a DUI.
Although the former Dynasty star did not have alcohol or illegal drugs in her system.

She was however under the influence of prescription drugs, of which, when arrested, the police said she showed signs of "obvious impairment".

The police were alerted to Locklear "driving erratically" by a papparazzo dialling 911.

Michael Jackson's Neverland deeds!

Michael Jackson has lost ownership of his Neverland ranch according to news reports.

Regular readers may remember us previously posting about Neverland going up for auction, due to Jackson's unpaid $24.5m debts on the property.

Although, as it turned out, Michael's ownership of the property got a last minute 'stay of execution', when he was bailed out of the debt by investment firm Colony Capital, just one week before the auction.

But this week Mr Jackson has transferred the deeds of ownership to Sycamore Valley Ranch Company. A company Jackson has a share in and is also said to be linked to the aforementioned Colony Capital investment company.

David and Victoria Beckham do a hell of a lot of advertising endorsements. But this one is at least entertaining.

Here we see an interesting Japanese ad for TBC showing the Beckhams performing a sort of 'Bewitched' skit.
The best bit of all, is that their voices have been dubbed over in Japanese.
It's amazing how the Japanese found a David Beckham sound-alike!

Canadian singer Nelly Furtado revealed to Entertainment Tonight Canada that she secretly got married over the summer.

On July 19th Nelly wed Demacio Castellon, a sound engineer whom she worked with on her 2006 album 'Loose'.

The singer has said
"I just feel kind of free and relaxed and more in tune with trying not to be so stressed out, I'm happy ... I'm excited about the future."

Instead of signing some super lucrative, celebrity magazine deal for her first baby pics, actress/singer/songwriter Minnie Driver decided to publish her first picture of her baby son on her MySpace page.

Minnie, 38, posted the picture of herself and her son Henry Story Driver just one month old on the popular networking site.

Also on her profile are several songs that she wrote/performed for you to listen to, and a video of her performing a live acoustic song with The Who's Pete Townsend.

Hollywood legend Paul Newman dies.

Legendary Hollywood actor Paul Newman has died of cancer at his home on Friday, aged 83.

The star had only retired from acting in May 2007, because he felt he could not perform to the best of his ability.

Newman performed in over 60 films. He played iconic roles in such classics as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke and The Sting.
He played varied roles in his career, even performing the voice for the character Doc Hudson in Pixar's 2006 animated film Cars.

Yes George Michael arrested in toilets once again! Only this time he was after the other type of crack.

According to The Telegraph newspaper, George Michael was arrested for possession of marijuana and crack cocaine, in a north London underground toilet, after police were tipped off by a lavatory attendant.

George Michael has said:

"I want to apologise to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I'll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them".

You would imagine that multi-millionaire pop stars would avoid public toilets like the plague. But no, not George. In fact he seems to use public conveniences like some sort of recreational convenience store.
A 'one-stop shop' where you can arrange a date, buy some condoms, buy some crack and shockingly, maybe even go to the toilet.

The first public toilet to start selling CDs, DVDs, milk and bread will definitely gain itself a life long customer.
