Hosts of the iYellow Wine Club

Known together as ‘The Wine Enthusiasts’, Angela Aiello & Paxton Allewell are two of Canada’s hottest wine personalities. The Toronto Star hailed them as the “New Generation of Wine Aficionados” and Post City Magazines declare that they ”bring wine tasting into the 21st Century”.

Angela & Paxton are the founders and personalities behind the acclaimed iYellow Wine Club (Part of the iYellow Wine Group Inc.) This dynamic duo’s passion for wine is undeniable, and they are especially drawn to Canadian VQA wines. The two have a fresh outlook on wine and together they bring a fun, friendly and cool approach to wine education, writing, event planning and tour guiding.

After graduating from Brock University (where they both met and studied Communications) Angela and Paxton reunited at Vineyards Estate Wines, a flagship Ontario retail wine store in downtown Toronto. Their friendship and entrepreneurial spirits led to plenty of brainstorming about the wine industry. Then in early 2006, the iYellow Wine Club.com (named after Angela’s last name “Aiello”) was founded and quickly became Toronto’s Hottest Social Wine Club. The club now has more than 2,500 members and hosts some of the best wine events and tours in Canada.

Notably, Angela and Paxton Hosted the prestigious 2008 Ontario Wine Awards, and have appeared on Canada AM, Global TV Morning News, and in CBC's 'Wine Confidential' documentary. Angela also covers the wine scene for LeGourmet.TV, part of the Broadband Gourmet Network, and is also the regular wine host for CBC's Steven & Chris Show. Because of their exciting approach to wine, Angela & Paxton were asked to lead tutored tastings at two of Toronto's most influential wine shows: The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo & Toronto's Wine & Cheese Show.

You can often catch Ange & Pax working with a glass of wine in downtown Toronto, or hanging out at the Fine Wine Reserve Cellar adding to their collection.

ANGELA AIELLO BIOGRAPHY

Angela Aiello is a true city girl with country roots. Growing up in the Niagara region –with an Italian family heritage, and a booming wine industry in her backyard – she was destined to become a wine entrepreneur, and lover of all things gourmet.

She got her start in the wine industry at 16 years old, at a prestigious Niagara winery restaurant. Working her way up from a table busser to a top server, she learned the value of hard work, and the art of wine and food. After completing her Honours degree in Business Communications at Brock University, Angela moved to Toronto to pursue her interest in media and marketing/communications. Over the years, she has gained a wealth of experience in the industry – working for a television commercial production house, a satellite radio provider, and most recently, a media recruitment firm. However, coming from a strong entrepreneurial background, she always knew she wanted to start her own business, a dream that would soon be realized. It started out as a personal hobby – blogging about wine – to create a network of wine lovers and share information with her friends. But, as more people began to subscribe to her blog, she realized she was on to something great. She joined forces with Paxton Allewell, a friend and former wine industry colleague, to share her passion for wine who happened to be another wine enthusiast. Using a quirky play on her last name, the iYellow Wine Club was born.

As a respected wine expert, Angela is currently the exclusive wine host for CBC’s Steven & Chris Show, as well as Le Gourmet TV (part of the Broadband Gourmet Network). As a strong supporter of the Ontario wine industry, she co-hosted the 2008 Ontario Wine Awards, produced and hosted podcasts for the Ontario Wine Council, and was featured in a CBC documentary, Wine Confidential. Her enthusiasm for wine and entrepreneurial success has been recognized in several print, television and online media sources, including Twenty Something TV.com, Notable TV.com, Canada AM, and Global TV, The Toronto Star, Post City Magazine, City Bites, The St. Catharine’s Standard, Toronto.com, TV Guide.com, and She Does the City.com.

Wine is an important part of Angela’s career and personal life, but it isn’t the only thing. She also loves to travel, dine out and entertain at home, and support the arts in Toronto. … all very important work-related research, of course!

PAXTON ALLEWELL BIOGRAPHY

Paxton is a celebrity wine expert, writer, designer and cultural leader based in downtown Toronto, Ontario. He has a diverse background in the travel and wine industry and holds a Degree in Communications with Distinction from Brock University.

On the wine front, Paxton has lived in both of Canada’s largest wine regions – The Okanagan Valley and Niagara Peninsula. However, his wine journey really began while traveling abroad, where he was inspired by the European culture and lifestyle. A few years later, it was at Chateau des Charmes winery in Niagara-On-The-Lake that he caught the bug and passion for wine and wine culture.

Paxton was further inspired when working at Vineyards Estate Wines (a flagship wine store in downtown Toronto) alongside Angela Aiello. And it was while working there that Paxton’s wine adventure really took off - leading to the creation of iYellow Wine Club – Toronto’s Hottest Social Wine Club, of which Paxton is the co-founder and co-host.

Paxton is captivated by the wine industry’s perfect blend of tourism, media and, of course, great wine! He absolutely loves creating and hosting exciting wine events and wine tours and is excited to be a part of the wine industry’s revolution over the next few years.

Paxton lives in Little Italy and enjoys staying active with friends, socializing in Yorkville, and passing time at local cafés.
