There's so much behind the scenes, like Brock Lesnar's post-fight tirade, Dan Henderson's comments on his why he delivered the "extra shot" to Bisping, where we'll find Georges St. Pierre fighting next, and what Dana White "promises" to do for Brock Lesnar to shake up the heavyweight division, that it'll probably take at least two shows to go through it all.

Did Rampage Jackson cross the line?

Reporter Heather Nichols was trying to do her job, but couldn't seem to escape the "dry humping" Rampage Jackson. Jackson has had a reputation of "playing" with reporters. I for one had a run-in with Quinton up in Big Bear a year or so ago as he was preparing for an upcoming fight. He was training with, among others, Cheick Kongo and he stood Cheick and I next to each other to see who was taller. As he was sizing both of us up, he proceeded to playfully slap both of us across our faces. In retrospect, I gladly take that over what he did to Ms. Nichols.

UFC 100 "Breakdown" By Barry Pape

This "Breakdown" of UFC 100 is brought to you by: Barry Pape Looking at UFC 100 top to bottom, this might actually be the biggest and best card in the history of the UFC. Two championship fights, compelling fights filling the main card, and good fights on the undercard with fighters that might make some noise in the future. Here is my breakdown of this Saturday’s UFC 100 main fights.

Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir

This is the big one…literally. UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar taking on the UFC interim heavyweight champion Frank Mir for all the marble in the heavyweight division. The winner is the undisputed champ; the loser doesn’t fall too far in the overall weak heavyweight division. Ignore the outcome of the previous fight between these two men, it has no bearing to this fight. While this might make the outcome of the fight anti-climactic in the long run, it does make for an exciting fight.

The key to this fight will be if Frank Mir can weather the onslaught that Lesnar is going to bring in the early rounds of the fight. Lesnar is the far superior wrestler, but Mir is one of the best when it comes to MMA functional jiu-jitsu. I believe that it would be best for Lesnar to keep the fight on the feet and applying constant pressure on Mir and attempting to press Mir against the sides of the cage so that Lesnar can lean against Mir and bring his bulk to bear, since he will probably be outweighing Mir by almost 30 pounds going into the cage. By doing this, his intention would be to tire Mir out trying to get Lesnar off of him, thereby making his arms and legs fill with lactic acid. If Brock can do this tactic, he should tire Mir out relatively early, opening Mir up for a flash shot that would stun Mir and allow Lesnar to take Mir down easily and ground and pound his way to a victory.

For Mir, the plan is simple, take this fight into the later rounds. Brock has only been three rounds once, in the fight against Heath Herring in which Brock hit Herring with that one good shot early in the first round and just laid on Herring and not allowing him to get up through that round and then just taking Herring down at will in each of the following rounds and repeating the process. Against Couture, Lesnar put pressure on Randy early and often, eventually hitting Randy with a shot to the chin and pounding Randy out.

Mir has to avoid this pressure by Brock by shooting in and out, landing two and three punch combinations before getting out of harm’s way. By doing this, the intention is to make Brock chase him, and over a couple of rounds, start to frustrate Lesnar at the same time. Also, since Brock’s cardio is an unknown, the hope is that this will start to tire the big man out, making Brock try something out of desperation to bring Mir into his clutches.

By the championship rounds, Brock should be tiring from constantly trying to catch up to the faster Mir, forcing Brock to shoot in for a takedown. Even if Lesnar hits a takedown, the hope for Mir is that Brock should be limited in his ability to avoid a sweep, allowing Mir to get out from under Lesnar and opening him up for a submission.

Prediction: Frank Mir by 4th round submission

Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves

The co-main event is an awaited matchup between the welterweight champ and one of the most exciting contenders to come around for the welterweight belt in some time. Alves is one of the most powerful men in the welterweight division, and unlike the fight against Matt Hughes, the chance at wearing the title should be plenty of motivation for him to make weight for this fight.

The biggest thing going against Alves is the fact that he has never fought against anyone with the skill set of GSP. Against Hughes, Alves was facing a dominant wrestler on the tail end of his career that couldn’t match the sheer power that Alves possesses. This is something that is not an issue for GSP, as he can call on bigger guys in the Jackson camp to help him simulate the power and size of Alves.

For this fight, the early moments of the fight should see Alves trying to force his will and size on GSP, but GSP’s quickness should allow him to get away and open angles with which GSP can pepper the Brazilian with combos either to the head or the body. By the end of the first round, GSP should be able to take Alves down and control him with shots while avoiding sweep or roll attempts by Alves. By the end of the second round, GSp should be completely into Alves head because of his ability to avoid damage while taking Alves down at will and dominating him from the guard and half guard, tiring the Brazilian out all the while. By the third round, Alves should become a walking punching bag, allowing GSP to finish the fight with a series of quick shots.

Prediction: Georges St. Pierre by 3rd round TKO

Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson

The big carrot at the end of the fight for the winner of the fight between the two most recent coaches of The Ultimate Fighter is a fight against Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title by the early months of 2010. The bad thing is that the winner of the fight between these two men is the fact that they will be the number one contender and in line for a fight between one of them and Anderson Silva in the early months of 2010.

Dan Henderson is one of the best MMA wrestlers in the brief history of MMA. The question, though, has always been once he Hendo gets a person on the ground, does he have the ability to stop the fight early. Bisping was on Monday’s edition of MMAJunkie.com Radio taking to the host about how his wrestling ability has been improved with the addition of Quinton Jackson and his wrestling coach, and that he feels comfortable defending the takedown attempts that Henderson will go after. The problem is, Henderson has a sublime ability to take an opponent down with a minimum of effort, leaning against an opponent on the side of the cage and dropping down for a quick single leg or double leg sweep that seems to work more times that not. For Bisping, the key is keeping the fight standing in the middle of the cage so that he can see the takedown attempt coming as Hendo shoots in, raining punishment on Henderson as he makes this attempt.

Henderson, however, is a cagey veteran that, if his first plan doesn’t work, he has enough experience to try a variety of other moves. He can play a stand up game in which he throws jabs high, opening Bisping up for an attempt to the legs when he least expects the shot.

In this fight, it should be the far more experienced fighter being able to control the action, avoid the majority of damage from the feet while also being able to sprawl and avoid being taken down himself. Decision Dan should be able to weather the storm due to this experience and earn another chance at middleweight glory by at the latest the Super Bowl card in early February.

Prediction: Dan Henderson by decision.
