Clearly, some sites will emerge and take the risk of accepting US wagers because of great potential profit. Sadly, I expect some of these rogue sites will be poorly run and mismanaged and scandal will result, which impacts the entire industry, and this makes legalization in the US even more difficult.
Online poker sites and sportsbooks will no longer be able to advertise (.COM-related services) inside the US. Media outlets will simply refuse to accept the ads. This includes print, television, and radio. Consider the implications. Thousands of new players were signing up daily at various sites. All of that vanishes. Sports gambling is less-reliant on advertising. However, the loss of the US market will force unforeseen changes in how these businesses are run, especially those companies that have multiple-gambling related products, such as BoDog, Paradise, etc.
Online betting sites will likely not be able to post banner ads and links to gaming sites, especially those based inside the US. "Aiding and abetting" laws could result in arrest and prosecution for those who provide links to US residents. Poker magazines, online betting forums.
Many sites use what are called affiliates. Persons who are affiliates and live inside the US will now be subject to arrest and prosecution, particularly those who do not block financial transactions from the US.
Read more from Texas hold'em forum

Malliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11213776772348720483noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-478166619928916364.post-3962179319968934662008-06-11T06:56:00.001-07:002008-06-11T06:56:14.174-07:00The Poker Mentor
Technorati Теги: poker,poker play

Gee...that still sounds like 2 "producer's choice" get to buy their way into the final table. Perhaps Lynn should have skipped playing in the tournament and just bought her way into the final table. I guess that's no different then when they have super satellites to a

main event...and someone chooses to just pay for the main event.

However, changing rules midstream is not fair. If they had planned on allowing 2 players to buy their way into the final table (main event), they should have advertised it that way. Poker rules

Malliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11213776772348720483noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-478166619928916364.post-45218372383566392282007-12-12T23:27:00.001-08:002007-12-12T23:28:18.386-08:00Poker Travels

My sessions have been limited the last week, as I had mentioned I took a couple of hard losses, and am getting ready to start a new job. This last couple of days I got a call from my old friend Leon back in RI and he will be coming out to visit. He works in maintenance for a very upscale hotel in my hometown, 12 years now he has been there, and he gets some good benefits. The company also owns 10 more hotels, one in San Diego and one in Los Angeles.

After talking on the phone for a bit he told me about how he gets free hotel rooms worldwide for his company (these are like 4 star hotels he mentioned) and he booked a flight to LAX on Dec 26th.

I'm going to drive the 3-4 hours down and pick him up, then we are going to spend 2 days in San Diego, then 3 days in Los Angeles, all free on his company, then its back to Vegas for new years eve. This is way cool. I have never been to LA or San Diego, and of course the first thing I thought of was Commerce casino and The Bike lol. If anyone has been to these, please give me some insight or tips on going there and what games/tourneys they have that are good. Also we will be checking out the San Diego zoo and hollywierd too. It sounds like a good trip to me and I am excited about this. The only thing I am concerned with is the drive to LA airport on Dec. 26th. This may be hairy.

Anyways, I would like to take this chance to wish you all a safe and happy holiday this year. It has been a year of changes for me, but I am looking forward to the new year. I wish you all well, thanks for reading and being here. I hope to hear about your poker in the coming months.

Malliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11213776772348720483noreply@blogger.com0
