Choosing Wrong Keywords

Targeting the wrong keywords is the common mistakes that most people do, even the experienced experts make it. For example, you may optimize your website for the keywords which you think may be best and more relevant and rank number one for those keywords but still may not gain new traffic. The reason is that you are not targeting the right keyword. Reasons that you may choose a wrong Keyword:

1. Selecting keywords that are very popular. If the keyword is too popular, you have to put up lot of work to bring rankings. For example choosing keywords like car, bike etc.

2. Choosing a keyword phrase that is too broad. If you are choosing a keyword that is too broad then you might not get the appropriate traffic as a highly targeted keyword phrase.

Choosing the right keyword may make or break your SEO. So make correct decisions while choosing keywords for your website.

JavaScript Menus

For Search engine friendly website, plain text menus are always recommended rather than JavaScript menus. But still using dynamic JavaScript menus are necessary for some websites. Using JavaScript is not bad until you understand that search engines do not read JavaScript and build your website accordingly. If you are using JavaScript in you website then be sure that you create a sitemap or No Script tag for making your links crawlable.

Graphic Header

Many websites are designed with graphic header. We can see websites having company logo occupying the full width of the page. This mistake has to be avoided. The upper part of the page is very important place where you can insert your targeted keywords. When search engines see a graphic image, the prime position is totally wasted there since search engines do not make use of images. And another mistake is that header contains text information in image form to make it attractive. But again text in it cannot be indexed by search engines and will not contribute toward page rank.

The best way to present a logo is to use a hybrid approach - keep the logo at the top of each page and size it that it does not occupy the whole width. Use the rest of the width for the text header.

Pure Flash Website

Search engines do not understand flash and if a website is designed with pure flash then they will see the entire website as a single page. And you may not get the opportunity to optimize different pages for targeted keywords. If you are having a pure flash website, then do follow the below strategies,

1. Rebuild your website by breaking up the flash file and moving the major sections to its own HTML page. Flash elements can then be included as needed on each separate page.

2. If you can’t do the first point then you can get smart by using separate URLS by implementing SWF address.

3. Give more focus on Off page optimization. Concentrate more on the keywords targeted.

4. Creating a HTML alternative is another best option for Flash SEO. It is not only helpful for Search engines but also for disable visitors for the website.

Importance of URLs

A good URL helps you to rank better in search engines. Dynamic URLs are commonly used in E-commerce sites but the disadvantage is that an URL with keyword can rank better than dynamic URLs with special characters and session ids. Major search engines provide more weightage to page with static and URLS containing keywords. If you are having a website with dynamic URLs then you can use Mod-Rewrite Rule to handle conversion still keeping the dynamic URL.

From the past, the role of the woman in society has been centered with the household chores. On the other hand job security is a thing of past today with thousands of layoffs and downsizing programs being exercised on a daily basis. The statistics will show you, women are the worst hit category. So any income generating activity you can engage at home is highly valued in today’s context. Many people ask this question. May be you also have already thought about it. The question is “can you earn the same amount staying at home?” The answer is two fold. It is yes and no. While we agree on the possibility of getting similar financial rewards, we should also acknowledge the fact that it is not achievable overnight. In other words you’ll not get the same income from the very fist day you start working at home. May be you will get very limited income as you start up. But believe that it’ll gradually increase.

Website Traffic Using Free Directories

We all want traffic to our sites. We all want free advertising. It's absolutely wonderful when we are able to combine the two.

Directories are a wonderful way to advertise for free and receive traffic to your website.

Today, I found a blog directory and was excited to find several dozen blogs on the topic I had chosen to read about. I was quite disappointed when several of the blogs were either on a different topic or took me to pages that were not blogs. Expecting to see blog entries, instead I found some "today only" sale pages, along with some newsletter sign up pages. When I did not find what these site owners had advertised, a blog, I quickly navigated away. This is lost traffic. I never looked at their site.

Free advertising and submitting your various pages to directories is great, make sure you are really offering what you say you are offering.

I have a plug board on my site. I have submitted that one page to several directories. If you find my plug board through a directory the link will take you directly to my plug board. Of course I hope you'll stay and visit, however even if you don't you'll have gotten exactly what you came for.

I also run contests on my site. Same thing. I submit the contest page only to contest directories. When you click that link you are taken immediately to the contest page. Those who come, get exactly what they came for, the contest entry form.

And of course I also have a blog. I submit the blog URL to blog directories.

One thousand page hits with no sales is really not much better than zero page hits. Either way, you have no sales.

Use your navigation to get folks to other pages of your site. Done right, you can use the top, bottom, left and rights margins to provide other links to other areas of your site.

Always start though by having folks land on the page they are expecting, so that you keep them on your site from the first click.

Effective Internet marketing is your bread and butter for your business.

Seems a lot of online marketers think that you have to pay for advertising for it to be effective. I see people everyday on forums spending their hard-earned dollars on advertising, and few understand how to promote their business for free.

I cannot stress this enough...You DO NOT have to spend a single penny to promote your business. The paid advertising is out there if that is what you wish to do, but you don't have to rely on it for success.

In my experience over the years with marketing (through trial and error), I've come to realize there have been three free advertising methods that are paying off more and more everyday. However, my marketing efforts have not paid off overnight. I've had to work hard and remain focused, motivated, and patient.

If "get rich quick schemes" sound good to you...then guess what? They don't exist! If they did, wouldn't we all be rich by now?

Below are the free advertising methods that I use on a daily basis. These three methods can work for you as well and can be quite effective if you use them consistently.

1. Forum Marketing
Forum marketing can be both fun and rewarding. You should post messages on forums that relate to your business or website. The key in using this type of advertising is "keywords." Always include them in your signature in all your posts. Get to know the other forum members, network and participate in various discussions.

Make sure your posts are relevant and help reveal your level of knowledge. Don't just join a forum and post your ads and leave. This is not only unprofessional and lack of forum etiquette...but it is also a huge waste of your time. You will get far more people interested in what you have to offer and also gain their trust by networking properly on message forums.

2. Article Marketing
Article marketing is proving extremely effective more and more everyday. You don't have to be an established writer in order to write articles relating to your business. If you have the desire to write, some knowledge about your business, and the search capabilities...the rest will follow.

There are many article directories to submit your written articles. Submit your articles to various forums and websites as well. Often times, webmasters are willing to swap articles with you just for the sake of gaining some unique content for their websites. Ezines and newsletters are other good places you can submit your articles.

3. Blogging
Blogs are considerably effective for getting traffic to your website. The key is offering fresh content on a steady basis...if not daily. The content must be something viable that you know people will be searching for. At the end of all your articles/post entries, always include a link to the websites you want traffic for.

Also, consistently search for other blogs that you would like to exchange links with....as well as blogs to read and comment on that relate to your own blog. Before you know it you will have a steady flow of links out on the Web, thus resulting in more traffic.

These marketing methods will not yield you the desired results overnight. As already mentioned above, you will have to be consistent for them to be effective, and (above all else) never, ever give up. The advertising tools discussed here are absolutely free and only takes some of your time.

If you have been using paid advertising, why not change gears for a few months and use the free methods discussed here? Use them consistently for three months and see what happens. In most cases, you will discover that free promotion is more profitable and effective than paid promotion. You will love the results...and more importantly, you will finally be paid for your efforts.

Tips to Connecting With Your Network Marketing Team

If you have built a team in direct sales, then you know one piece of your job as an upline is to connect with each person in your group so that you can best support them.

I believe there are several ways to connect with your team. I'd like to share some of the many ways you can make that connection:

1. A team message board or Yahoo group. Both message boards and Yahoo groups allow the group members to interact with one another. Questions can be asked and answered and ideas can be shared. All group members have the ability to both read and to post. Not only can your team learn from you, but they can also learn from each other. Another wonderful benefit of a message board or Yahoo group is that team members can also form relationships with one another. Some of my best friends over the years have come from meeting other downline members of my own upline.

2. A group newsletter. Putting out a monthly or even quarterly newsletter allows you to stay in touch with both those who do and don't have computer access. Newsletters can include company incentives, company sales and team recognition. Another favorite item to include in newsletters is articles about the industry you are involved in. If you're in the health and wellness field, find an article each month that highlights one aspect of the health and wellness field. If you represent a kitchen/food related company, offer information on the latest findings on certain foods, or certain related products.

3. Offer resources. Where can your team learn more about the industry your products are from? Where can they learn more about the company? Offer trade magazine suggestions. Offer product usage charts. Offer book recommendations. In addition to the specific field your products are in, there are also many resources available to the network marketing industry. Offer one or two new resources each month via your newsletter or team message board.

4. Offer recognition. Let folks know who had the highest sales for the month. Let folks know who had the most new team members for the month. You can post this information, but also send a postcard to the distributors. Let them know of their accomplishment. Let them know they are number one on your team. If your company puts out company wide recognition and someone on your team is recognized, highlight this. Post birthdays and company anniversaries. Let your team you know it's their birthday. Send a card. On the occasion of their anniversary with the company, again send a card.

Each of these methods of reaching out and connecting with your downline will help build camaraderie between you and the rest of your team. When your team feels connected, they are more likely to work the business and stay involved.

You will spend more time, effort, money, and headaches in the beginning of starting a home business than with practically anything else in your life. However, when it all comes together, the hard times will seem like a distant memory because it will all have been worth it.

You are not losing anything now, at least, and it feels good, but not good enough. You want more!

Then, one day, it's like an Angel comes down and says, "Ok you have proven yourself; now you will succeed.” BAM, just like that, you start earning enough to put a little away, pay off debt, take a vacation, or reinvest into your business.

That is when it really gets exciting!! You have now learned enough to start teaching others and you can now apply your knowledge to find more ways to earn. Your business grows more all the time, increasing your income everyday. You can now quit your day job to work at home full time. Soon you will be financially secure.

It can be rough to start a home business and jump onto the work at home wagon. Many people give up without ever really giving it a true effort. In order to succeed you need to:

1) keep learning
2) work hard
3) develop your mind and skills
4) ask questions
5) apply your knowledge.

Find a mentor and copy what they do, but add your own twist to it. Visit forums to learn from others that are successful. Do something constructive and worthwhile with your home business every day and you will reap the rewards soon.

Remember there are no get rich quick opportunities and you can’t be lazy just because you work at home. Being in business for yourself means working very hard, especially for the first year or two. It sure beats the alternative, doesn’t it?

Drunk Pineapple

An easy and refreshing dessert to finish a nice summer dinner.

Ingredients

1 fresh ripe pineapple
1/4 cup light rum
5 oz granulated cane sugar
1 lb vanilla ice cream
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

Peel pineapple and core if desired. Slice pineapple about 3/4 inch thick.
In a non stick frying pan, melt sugar in rum, on low heat.
When the syrup comes to a boil, add the pineapple slices, sprinkle with cinnamon and cook for 5 minutes turning slices two or three times.

Arrange pineapple slices on dessert plates and let cool.
When ready to serve, put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center of each pineapple slice and pour over the remaining syrup.

Declutter and Organize Your Home Office For Success

Is your work at home office space organized? Is your desk neat and tidy? Can you find specific business documents on your computer with ease?

Or...Are you completely distracted by the mess in front of you as you work? Are you overwhelmed with that home desk clutter?!

If you answered "no" to the first three questions and "yes" to the last two...you need a work at home office space overhaul. For some people, it is normal to have three or four stacks of paperwork scattered on top their desk.

While for others, those stacks of papers are a real eyesore! A messy, unorganized work area often makes you distracted and unfocused. It is a well-known fact that an organized home office always results in a more productive home business. That same organized work area also saves time and money.

For Example:

If you're wasting time constantly searching your computer for lost documents, doesn't this cost you time and money? The same goes for searching for that one piece of paper among the endless disorderly accumulation displayed in front of you.

So, wouldn't you much rather have a nice, organized home office with everything in it's place? Of course you would!

Unless...stacks of paper, lost documents on your desktop, and mounds of notes cluttering your desk is your cup of tea.

Below are just a few organization tips for your home business office:

1. If you don't own a file cabinet, it's best to invest in one. Obtain a good filing system. Keep a drawer for your household items and a drawer for your home business items. Always keep household and business separate.

2. Keep a business-to-do list on your desk at all times. Follow that list each and everyday, checking off tasks as they are completed. Make a list and stick to it.

3. Keep your files and documents in order on your desk top with their appropriate labels for ease of searching.

4. Set specific business hours. Set aside this time for your home business. Also set a specific time to do your household work. Sure, there will always be things that will come up...you have to run to the store and get milk, or you have to run to the vet. Always get right back on your schedule after these home chores are completed. No exceptions!

5. Look around your office. Is there anything on your desk, in your drawers, or up on a shelf that you don't have any use for anymore? If so, throw it out. Pitch anything you don't need or use. Why keep your work area cluttered with useless items?

6. Throw away junk mail immediately. Always keep a trash can by your desk.

7. You will always have a need for office supplies. But these items take up a lot of space. Invest in some drawer dividers for various different sized items. You can purchase drawer organizers at any office supply store. The idea is to declutter. And again, always throw out things you don't need.

8. If you're confined to a very small work area, you might consider purchasing a laptop. Laptops are getting cheaper by the dozen and they often come with good deals with rebates. Shop around, you may be surprised at what you can find.

Clutter doesn't have to completely destroy your day or your business. Take action and get organized. Don't put it off any longer, do it today! With some effort and a little creativity, you can have a more efficient work space.

Your domain name acts as a lure for visitors to your site. It diffuses all over the Web into various search engines, discussion boards and forums to attract users to your site. Once it draws them in, the rest of your site is responsible for selling them your idea. But this initial period of drawing customers in requires a dynamite domain name. 1. Keep It As Concise As Possible
You have the luxury of using up to 67 characters to register your domain but only use this space if you have to. Otherwise, keep it as short and sweet as possible. Although nearly all of site visits are via click-throughs and not typed in URL’s, having a domain that’s easy to remember can help you in both your online and offline promotions. So use the keyword search wisely and use the most popular search terms for a high impact domain.

2. Dot What?
.com – plain and simple.
Although there are numerous suffixes, don’t use them. Even today, the most recognizable and most associated Web address is .com so stick with what works. If you feel a compelling urge to try something different like .net, .biz, etc. run the site parallel to a .com and prove to yourself which site is performing better. Also, many web browsers will automatically insert a .com by default if the ending suffix isn’t inserted – another reason to use .com.

3. Avoid Trademarked Names
Unless you have an endless supply of time and money to spend fighting trademarked names, keep clear of other people’s identities. Use an original domain name that is rich in keyword content to attract quality traffic. If you knock off somebody else’s name/identity, it only harms your online reputation and can result in very costly lawsuits. And companies are more than willing to pay. Are you?

4. Register Your Domain NOW
Don’t delay! The euphoria domain name buying has created is seeing droves of people rushing to grab the best names they can get their hands on. Don’t con yourself thinking ‘nobody will ever think up of this domain’ – they are probably saying the same thing to themselves too. Don’t talk yourself out of getting a hot domain name because of what might or might not happen. Just grab it first, and then you can do what you want with it later. And you don’t need to be a computer nerd to get one. Just follow the simple instructions on this site and you will have your domain name minutes from now.

5. One Domain Name May Not Be Enough
You may have to register different versions of your domain if you are selling a large variety of products. You can do this by registering similar addresses consistent with your business and have them all direct to one website. You can increase your visibility on search engines by doing this and it gives the impression your company is a lot bigger (hence more secure and established) than what it really is. This helps to build faster credibility with your customers.

6. Character Types
This is pretty straightforward: Letters, dashes and numbers are ok, spaces and symbols aren’t. Also domain names are not case-sensitive; it doesn’t matter how you enter the address ie: domain.com is the same as DOMAIN.com.

7. Ask Around
Before you finalize your domain selection, make sure you use the appropriate keyword search tools and include the most frequently searched terms into your domain. Keep in mind, most people will find your domain name via search engines, not direct URL entries. This is more reason to ensure your keyword selection is relevant to your business. Also, ask reputable online experts if you aren’t sure.

8. Don’t Shell Out Large Amounts of $$$
In the Dark Ages of 1998, companies were charging enormous amounts of money plus a "mandatory" $70 InterNIC fee to register and host your domain. And customers were shelling out money only to realize, it was eating away at their profit margins. Since ‘e’ is for electronic, it was supposed to be streamlined and more efficient right? So why the high costs? Well, things have literally changed overnight. There are hundreds of companies now offering domain name registration services for very competitive rates.
You can get yours for next to pennies. Active-Domain has incredibly low prices together with several FREE services other companies still charge for like e-mail, sub-domains and site redirection.

1. Don’t try to write the perfect affiliate marketing article. Frequently, when writing affiliate marketing articles, people tend to “overthink” the article writing process and think they are writing Shakespeare or are rivaling Stephen King. Thankfully, you don’t have to have a Masters degree in English to write excellent affiliate marketing articles. All you need to do is write in an interesting way that conveys the information.

2. Make sure your keywords are placed in the affiliate marketing article frequently. Ideally, when writing affiliate marketing articles, you’ll want to sprinkle your target keyword into the article. I remember a seminar I attended several years ago. The speaker began by saying "how many of you here in this room can tell another person what you do in under 30 seconds?" Almost no one raised their hands. There must have been 300 people in that room and yet only a dozen said they were able to tell others what it was they do in under 30 seconds.

So, now I'll ask you. Can YOU tell folks what you do and who you are in under 30 seconds? Imagine you are in line at the grocery store. The person in front of you comments on something in your basket. A conversation begins to develop. You're now asked "so hey, what do you do?"

Think of television and radio. Commercials are 30 seconds. There's a reason for this. Most of us fast forward through even those 30 seconds. Think of yourself as a consumer. Do you want to sit through more than a 30 second commercial? Do you want to hear someone’s verbal commercial go on for more than 30 seconds?

When you're asked what you do, consider this to be your chance for a 30 second all inclusive commercial. If you can't tell someone what you do in under 30 seconds, it's time to rethink your commercial. How can you provide all the basics in under 30 seconds?

If you're thinking "but my situation is different, I can't possibly tell someone what I do in under 30 seconds" consider why every brand imaginable can do a 30 second commercial regardless of what they're selling. Think about how you can repackage your commercial to let others know what you do.

I like people in general. I'm happy to give a 30 second commercial and then say "wow this has been nice, want to meet for coffee?" Some folks will say yes, some will say no. Some yes's might turn into business for me, some might lead to a wonderful friendship.

Play around with how you can make the most of your 30 seconds. See if you can do what major brands do, get folks interested in just 30 seconds.

The trend of moms working from home to be near their children has grown in the last couple of years. Now that they have found jobs or businesses to run, they’re starting to realize that working from home is not as easy as they thought it would be. The work they do is hard to separate form their personal lives, which makes it hard to schedule time for work responsibilities and home duties.

The workspace these moms use to do their jobs at ends up being a part of their household, so that makes dividing work and home life even more difficult to do. Imagine that your office is a part of the dining room, which also happens to be the room where you eat your meals as a family. How easy is it going to be for you to leave your work life to be with your family when the office is 5 feet away from the dinner table?

The realities of dividing work and personal life can get smudged for work at home moms. When that happens, one’s stress level is sure to rise, which could jeopardize one’s sanity. To prevent your sanity from leaving, you should find ways to ensure that separation takes place between your job/business and your family life.

Assess the current situation. Try to find an area, within your home, to have your office so that it won’t interfere with your family life. The home office needs a room with a door where you can be apart from the rest of the house. A den or a garage can be converted into office space that is exclusive to your business. Some people have resorted to placing their office in the laundry room, just because it has a door! When that is not an option, set up shop in your bedroom to keep it away from the family areas.

Organization is the next step. A messy desk can be a huge distraction when trying to work. Everything needs to have its place. If you worked in an office, your boss would not stand for a messy work space. There’s no difference when you’re office is at home and not at the worksite.

Use inexpensive organizing items, such as baskets with separate compartments to help organize the odds and ends on your desk. You can keep rubber stamps, letters, invoices, pens, pencils, and the like in here. Organization makes finding things much easier, which results in a more relaxed work day.

Keep your business phone separate from the family phone line. When using the same line, you run the risk of your children answering business calls or picking up the phone during a conference call. This causes your professionalism to fly right out the window and takes your customers or employers along with it.

The same goes for the computer. It’s best to keep your business computer separate from what the other family members use, but budgets don’t always allow for this. In that case, make sure that the business/job files and documents can’t be easily accessed by anyone but you. This will help prevent some of the stress that could be brought on by family members stumbling on a client’s important document and accidentally deleting them.

Be sure to use calendars or planners as they are very helpful when trying to keep track of business appointments or deadlines and family appointments. This will lessen the stress of setting up family appointments when you’ve forgotten about business deadlines you have.

Consider hiring a sitter on days you have a lot of work to do. Being a work at home mom gives you the benefit of controlling your own schedule. Having a sitter keeps the kids away from your office and gives you quiet time to focus on your work and gives your kids a chance to have fun without you feeling too guilty.

Mixing business with family in the home setting can be a major source of stress. Keeping the business side of your life organized and separate is crucial to success in keeping your stress levels down and your sanity intact.

Tofu Scramble Breakfast Burritos

Tofu Scramble Breakfast Burritos

Ingredients

1 block firm or extra-firm tofu
2 potatoes (diced or chopped)
1 medium onion (chopped)
2 tablespoon garlic (minced)
2 tablespoon nutritional yeast
2 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon coriander
2 tablespoon turmeric
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil
salt & pepper to taste
flour tortillas, burrito size

Directions

Heat oil in frying pan over medium-high heat, add diced potatoes, salt and pepper. Fry until golden brown, about ten minutes or until cooked through. Frozen potatoes like hash browns work as well. Throw in onion and garlic, cook about two minutes, stirring frequently. You may use garlic powder if you prefer.

Squeeze excess water from Tofu and crumble into the frying pan, in chunks about two-three inches big. Add nutirional yeast and spices. Stir-fry for two minutes. Make a small resevoir in center of pan, pour in soy sauce and cook for a few minutes.

Heat flour tortillas 15-30 seconds on each side on a separate frying pan or griddle. Wrap the Tofu Scramble up and dig in.

You may adjust the spices, add bell peppers and whatever else you'd like. This concoction originally was my boyfriends response to the store-bought tofu scramble that left much to be desired. I make this as a breakfast and lunch very often and everyone loves it.

Serves: 1-4

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Work At Home Moms...Managing Your Weight

I don't know about you, but this has been a constant battle for me. I know sitting at the computer all day is not healthy for anyone.

But, that is what I do...I'm on my computer an average of 8 to 10 hours every week day marketing my websites and keeping them updated. And sometimes, I end up working on the weekends. That adds up to quite a bit of time sitting in my office, which in turn could result in unwanted extra pounds if I'm not careful.

I know this is something that all work at home Moms can relate to, unless you are a naturally thin person and have lucky genetics.

It is somewhat different for those who are involved in direct selling home businesses. They have products to deliver...some host parties, and some attend craft shows, home business conferences, and seminars. They tend to be a bit more active instead of sitting in front of a computer all day.

Staying in one place all day is not healthy at all. It slows down your metabolism, it slows down your blood circulation, and slows down your digestive tract. It also interferes with oxygen flow to the brain. It just isn't good for you, unless you take the required steps to help yourself.

I have found the below tips to be quite helpful and also strive more everyday to follow them:

* A daily exercise routine, preferably in the morning
* Drink plenty of water, at least 4 to 6 glasses per day
* Take one or two short walks during the day, in addition to the workout in the morning
* Don't eat meals at the computer desk
* Don't eat snacks at the computer desk
* Watch your in-take of carbohydrates, sugars, and fats

I do my workout in the morning. I get it over with first thing so I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day, I feel more energized during the day, and I just feel better and more ready to face my daily tasks. Plus it helps those endorphins kick in that just makes me feel better physically and mentally.

I have done more than just manage my weight by following the above tips. I have actually lost some weight. That in itself, makes me want to strive to keep doing what I'm doing and stay as healthy as I can.

If you are a work a home Mom, and you battle with weight-gain...think about the tips I have provided. Discipline yourself and try and stick with a daily routine for more activity, less weight-gain, and a more healthier you.

Healthy Banana Mango Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup of organic vanilla yogurt. (You can substitue low fat yogurt if you are watching your calorie count.)

1 banana, cut into about 1" pieces

1/4 cup orange or tangerine juine. (My kids like the fresh tangerine juice from Odwalla).

1/2 cup of frozen mangoes

Directions

Place all ingredients in the blender on high and blend until smooth.

Milkshake Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

1/3 cup whole milk yogurt
1/3 cup cultured buttermilk
1/3 cup whole coconut milk
frozen fruit to taste

Directions

Measure ingredients to fill the glass you will be using, then pour into the blender and blend until smooth.

Fruit Burst Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

2 bananas
6oz.blackberries
1 cup pineapple juice

Directions

Mix all ingredients and blend until smooth

Makes 2 servings.

Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

4 oz. strawberry syrup

4 oz. low-fat milk

3/4 C. vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream

Several years ago, I decided that I would no longer take in-house writing jobs. Although my desire to work from home was met with disbelief by some of my colleagues, I was shocked at how easy it was to make the switch! Indeed, I now work exclusively from home and I earn more than I ever did before.

If you are struggling to find freelance writing leads, then I will let you in on the only five Websites I look to for gigs. There is no shortage of jobs out there, so I don't worry about the competition at all.

1. Freelance Writing Jobs - This blog offers daily leads for a host of writing jobs. While not all of them are work-at-home positions, this is certainly a great place to start looking and the community is very active with both novice and seasoned writers.

2. crazedlist.org - I personally use Craigslist for many purposes, though it is really great for finding work. However, it can be very time consuming when you need to search for freelance jobs in multiple cities. With crazedlist.org, you can "search Craigslist like a madman."

3. Problogger - Blogging can be a great outlet for a copywriter, so I'm not opposed to trolling the Problogger boards from time to time. Some blogging opportunities insist on a copywriting or journalism background and the jobs listed here are usually lucrative. Unlike some sites, employers must pay to list a gig here, so the posters usually mean business.

4. Online Writing Jobs - This free message board is hit and miss, but I have found some excellent work from it. Be sure to only check out the "High-Paying" job board. There won't be a lot of posts to read, but it's a good place to regularly check.

5. GetAFreelancer - This is one of many popular sites where writers bid for contracts. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of bidding sites, as employers are normally trying to get the most work for the cheapest price. However, if you have a great work history and portfolio, you should have an advantage over the other members.

Honestly, I never need to look further than the above sites to keep myself busy with work. Those who are seeking more permanent, in-house positions will obviously want to include traditional sites like Monster and CareerBuilder in their job search. However, I have really embraced new media writing in recent years and much of it involves telecommuting. If you would also like to ditch the daily commute, I'd highly recommend the above resources.

My Work At Home Testimony

First of all...let me just say you can honestly make money online. It is a real possibility...and there are lots of opportunities available to you. It's just a matter of knowing what you would like to do.

I started searching for a work at home job as additional income from my brick and mortar job back in 1999. I was working full time as a floral designer. I enjoyed it, but I was hoping to supplement my income. Unfortunately, I had stumbled upon a couple of those ad typing schemes, and yes, fell for them...just like many others have done. I was totally unaware of the whole concept of it all. I did however, finally learn my lesson.

The sad part of it is...a lot of these scammers are still getting away with it! Many of them have been shut down by the FTC--Federal Trade Commision. But, new ones keep coming up everyday.

I want to take this opportunity to warn people that are searching for honest work they can do from home. These (so called) home typing jobs, ad placing schemes, data entry jobs, or whatever you want to call them are all scams. They charge you for your registration just so you can place ads all over the Internet to get people to join in to do the very same thing. Never pay for a work at home job. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule.

Example 1: For a customer service job, a lot of the time, you are required to purchase a headset in order to do the job.

Example 2: For a transcription job, you are most likely required to purchase a foot pedal to do the job.

Example 3: Sometimes you are required to pay a small fee for a background check.

These are all normal fees and come from legitimate work from home companies.
Other than the above examples...you should not have to pay for working at home. If there are other charges, then most likely, they are scams. Stay away from them.

Beyond my search for additional income, I have made a fair amount of cash on a select few of some affiliate programs. I have also met some great online friends along the way.

Throughout my endeavors, I realized I had to take this work at home situation a little more seriously. My Mother was diagnosed with cancer and I had to quit my job in order to take her back and forth to her chemo therapy treatments and to her doctor appointments. During this time, I had decided to start a website of my own. An online friend helped me get it set up. I have learned a great deal since then and have enjoyed every minute of it.

I quickly discovered that I could earn money with my website through Google Adsense, advertising space, and affiliate programs. I also discovered that there were real telecommute jobs that you could do online. Customer service, transcription, admin assistant, and the like.

This is where I found my niche. I could finally offer something viable to the work at home job searcher. Ironically, job leads such as these that are offered on both my work from home websites is what I've been searching for all these years...an honest way to earn an income from home.

But, I was already earning some income with my website. I was enjoying keeping it updated and adding new things to it. So, I made a choice...I decided to stick with my website and continue to offer the public job leads, business articles, business tips, and more.

There have been many ups and downs and many times I've come real close to giving it all up. A lot of people have given me some sarcastic remarks...even members of my own family (including my husband). But, I've learned so much by trial and error about marketing and I know what works and what doesn't work for me.

"Work at home jobs" is one of the most searched out phrases people search for on the Internet. Home jobs are in big demand, and I believe they will be for a long time to come. I'm witnessing more and more Mothers as well as Fathers working from home today. The greatest benefit is of course being able to be at home with your family, and especially your children.

I feel good about what is offered on my sites. And the really awesome part about it all, I enjoy it.
And now, even my husband gives me his full support at what I do. No more laughing, no more remarks...as he finally saw what kind of income can be made online.

If you've been wanting to work from home, the truth is, you can! There are many, many options available to you. You can find telecommute jobs, affiliate programs, blogging jobs, and still more. You can even start your own online business. Consider these options carefully and make for sure you choose something that you will enjoy doing for the long run. Your success depends on it.
