Buyer beware. Shill bidding is not an uncommon practice designed to drive the price up. All sales at these events are final.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Here’s a tip: </span>Most cruise lines offer online access in their Internet cafes. The art auctions offer a preview before actual bidding begins to allow potential buyers a look ahead of time. If you have your eye on a particular piece, you may want to conduct a little research first.<br /></div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_AR_-ajq_x60/SH43z_wob2I/AAAAAAAAAuc/dOnTfP9EjTs/s1600-h/artauc.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_AR_-ajq_x60/SH43z_wob2I/AAAAAAAAAuc/dOnTfP9EjTs/s320/artauc.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223673984224620386" border="0" /></a><br />Here’s the article from the New York Times.<br /><a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/16/arts/design/16crui.html?_r=1&amp;ref=arts&amp;oref=slogin"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Art Auctions on Cruise Ships Lead to Anger, Accusations and Lawsuits</span></a><br /><br /><a style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_cruise_art_auctions_scam_fraud.htm">Cruise ship Art Auctions - Scams, Frauds or bargains?</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.chicagoappraisers.com/cruise-ship-art-auctions.html"><span style="font-weight: bold;">When Your Cruise Ship Art Romance Goes Sour</span></a><br /><br /><br />For detailed advice, visit<br /><a href="http://www.dba-oracle.com/s_cruise_ship_art_auction_tips.htm"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Cruise ship art auction tips</span></a><b>Bargain Avenues</b>http://www.blogger.com/profile/14352511272942975060karen@avenuestosold.com
