You need to have an understanding of what 3 way calling is. It seems to be an effective way to do a MLM home business.

For people who don't know what a 3 way call is: You call your upline, and give them a short background on the prospect, (name, age, occupation etc). After you informed your upline you call the prospect and you will have both parties on the line.

During this 3 way call you can listen to your sponsor how he prospects. It's a kind of 'earn while you learn experience'. Your sponsor is there to help you and guide you in the early stages of your business. At first sight you think this is a really good tool to grow your MLM home business.

But does it position yourself as an expert? I don't think so and here is why. Suppose you are going to buy new running shoes, because you like running more and more and want some good advices about running shoes. So you start asking a few questions. You ask the simple ones first "does it come in blue and white?". The salesman answers that he thinks so. You ask how many miles you can run on these shoes. The salesman replies "well actually, let me just get an expert on the phone for you. He knows all about these shoes and can answer all your questions". So you get the running shoe expert on the phone and he tells you all about it and competently answers your questions. You then buy the perfect fitting running shoes.

This same situation is happening in your own MLM home business. And believe me, you don't have to have all the answers, but train yourself in prospecting and do some research about the products. And if there is a tough question, just reply that it's a great question and not been asked before. Grab a cup of coffee, I'll just find out for you and be back in a couple of minutes".

Spend the time to become the expert in your business, treat it like it is your business and position yourself. I'll promise you that it gives you a lot more satisfaction and dedication!

In conclusion, starting and developing a MLM home business can be lucrative if someone knows how to market effectively. Like any business, success will be determined by the skill-set of the marketer. The potential to grow a huge business is there, just not with outdated marketing techniques.

Additionaly, it can be quite an added attraction to couple your local ad with such things as special discount offers in the ad.

3. Send everyone in your zip code a postcard announcing a sale at your place of business. AND have them bring in the postcard to receive the discounted price.

4. Become the local expert in your business field by being nterviewed on the radio. AND include a special phone number for customers to call during the broadcast to get more information.

5. Give a speech at the Chamber of Commerce. AND hand out problem solving brochures with your address, phone number and a special code number for customers to use to get a discount.

Many business owners regard marketing only as a necessary evil. They would rather concentrate on their core business activities. But when they use these simple methods to harness the powerful secret to getting more customers, they can eliminate the pain of marketing. Then their businesses will be truly successful in bringing in more customers, more money and more profits.

There are millions of people around the globe who are currently running or would like to run their own business from home. The majority of these are network marketers. Having been around the industry for 10 years, I've come across many of the challenges and problems that face networkers, whether they are experienced or newbies. Among those, I've identified 5 main issues that network marketers face today:

1- Leads. The biggest problem that people face in the industry is generating leads. Finding new people on a consistent basis that you can expose your business to is crucial. Most people do not expose their business to enough quality people on a daily basis to get the results that they need.

2-Follow up is the next problem area. When the home business owner does expose his/her business to people, they do not always follow up effectively. They either do not follow up at all, or they don't follow up consistently enough to get results.

3- Duplication and training. Once the networker begins to enroll people into his/her business, the next problem that comes is getting their new partners trained effectively in order to duplicate what they have done and what others have done to be successful.

4- Marketing tools. Everyone needs effective marketing tools to help them leverage their time by doing presentations for them. In this day and age, a web presence is essential. You need to have cutting edge online marketing tools at your disposal. The company that you represent usually provides a website or websites, but they are typically very ineffective marketing tools.

5- The final problem facing network marketers is credibility. Most don't have any. Especially if you are new and haven't earned any money yet. Most people end up chasing their prospects to try to get them to look at their business, when you really need to have posture and have prospects, interested prospects, chasing you.

So what's a person to do when building an MLM business, and how do you make sure you have a solution to all the problems listed above? When it comes to lead generation, there are a plethora of ideas and information out there on ways to generate leads. There's your warm market, referrals, buying leads, the 3 foot rule, advertising in periodicals and newspapers, drop cards, cold calling, and various online methods.

The information needs to be the same for everyone, so they are getting a full dose of the right information and not a watered down version.

Finally, in order to attract prospects and get them to chase you and want to join your business, you need to be perceived as an expert. You do this by providing valuable information to help and educate others without asking for anything in return. The prospects will see you as a giver, a person of knowledge and expertise, a leader, and they will want to work and associate with you.

The key solution to all of these problems is to have a system that comprises all of these components together to assist you to build your business. It should allow you to leverage your time, while you concentrate on the most importing thing in building your business—marketing!

Six Reasons For the 97% Failure Rate in Network Marketing

Why do 97% of people who try to make a living 9or a fortune) with Network Marketing or MLM fail miserably? The answer to this question is so simple, but we'll get to that.

The problem is NOT entirely the network marketing industry, but, to a great extent, failure occurs because of the mindset of the people getting involved in network marketing and affiliate marketing. Most people have had little success in other areas of life. When they get involved with a network marketing business they already have a pre-established notion that they will fail, even if they are not consciously aware of it.

There are 6 attitudes or reasons that should be considered when trying to build a successful network marketing business. Here are 6 potholes in the road to success in network and affiliate marketing:

1.) The easy road to wealth. There is no free lunch! Many people who are enamored with the idea of becoming wealthy think that, simply by signing up with a network marketing business or as an affiliate of a business, they have won the lottery. They buy their ticket and collect the money. No matter what the hypnotic hype implies, this is NOT how it works.

2.) They are told and believe that if they start at a higher level, they won't have to work as hard. Some MLM companies allow you to buy a higher status, which allows you to purchase products at a lower rate. This allows the rep to make a higher commission for each sale. Buying in at a higher level doesn't replace good old fashion diligence! Starting on a higher level, simply put, means that you have invested more money, which means that you will have to work harder to recover your investment. Beginning in your company in a higher position does not mean that you have already built your downline, which is where your success lies.

3.) Falling for the promise that your up line will recruit people for you. Waiting and hoping that your up line will give you new distributors will guarantee your failure. If you are with a company that has a binary compensation plan, then it is easy to get caught up in this mindset. It is not your up line's job to build your business for you, unless they receive a matching compensation for the new recruit. This is rarely the case. Most likely when your up line gives you a few new reps, it usually is for their benefit more than yours.

4.) Laziness! The hard to swallow pill, Laziness!" Building a business takes time and a great deal of effort. A half-hearted attitude will produce little to no results. Successful businesses have been created by diligence and a 'success' attitude.

5.) The Greed appeal Anyone who looks at the 'hyped up' headlines in the MLM industry can see that the greatest majority of these headlines are outright lies or misconceptions. When closely scrutinized, these 'tag lines' are designed to excite the greed in the potential affiliate. The copywriters for these offers do absolutely nothing but bait those who are gullible enough to believe the outrageous claims of 'wealth without effort.'

6.) Lack of proper training Too often people are led to believe that they will be trained by their up line in the latest marketing skills to insure their success. Even with the best intentions, this is not usually the reality. As the number of Internet users grows (and it is growing exponentially) the technology is growing exponentially. What worked in the early days of Internet Marketing does not work today. The old techniques of 'screaming your offer to anyone within three feet of you' or 'badger you family friends and strangers with your offer because they need your product but don't realize it yet' will only alienate everyone from you.

There is a fresh new attitude or marketing mindset that will bring success. Proper training and the willingness to work diligently to grow your business is a key factor in your success.

The 3% who are making an absolute fortune on the Internet have done this because of their nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic. They do not use the outdated, rehashed garbage that is fed to the multitudes of Internet Opportunity seekers. They use techniques that are tried and true and are very rarely shared.

The 97% failure figure of Network Marketing correlates with the 80% failure figure in the 'brick and mortar' world. 80% of all new businesses fail within their first year (for basically the same reasons.) Does this mean that no one should start a business? Absolutely not!

This means: 1.) research, 2.) plan, 3.) seek wise counsel, 4.) create within yourself an attitude of diligence, and 5.) prepare to work as hard as is necessary to realize your goals.

1) Believe in and use your products regularly. Knowing your products is crucial to your success.

2) Know what you want from your business. Set realistic goals and targets for how much you want to make, when, and why. Write these goals and targets down.

3) Make a strong commitment to your business and take action. Do something to build your business each and every day.

4) Study and learn ways to be successful in network marketing and MLM. Learn from your successful upline and other industry leaders.

5) Be committed to helping your downline succeed. Focus on what they need, and what they want to achieve. Help them do it and you will get what you want as well.

6) Make yourself easily accessible. Be sure you have voice mail and a reliable email address. Avoid using free "throwaway" email addresses.

7) Always respond to emails and return calls promptly. This encourages your downline and "wows" your prospects. This sets you apart because many network marketers won't do this.

8) Follow up with prospects and customers. If they ask for information, get it to them quickly and contact them to make sure they received it.

9) Don't quit. The first three months in network marketing and MLM are the toughest. You have to persevere to find the success you desire.

10) Just do it. Life sometime gets in the way of working your business. Sometime discouragement sets in because there seems to be no time to do anything. You have to make the time.

11) Maintain a strong work ethic. Build your business one downline associate, one customer at a time. When things seem to be moving slow, hang in and keep going.

12) Be aware and listen to concerns voiced by your downline associates and customers. Don't assume these will go away - deal with them.

13) Praise your downline associates when they have success. You may think that success is sufficient motivation to keep going, but everyone responds well to recognition and praise.

14) Work your business every day. Be consistent. Some days this will be very hard - but always find something you can do to keep moving forward.

15) Use the tools you have and work with your circumstances. There is never a "perfect" time to build your business. Every top achiever has overcome less than ideal circumstances at some point.

16) Be patient and steady. It takes time to build your business and achieve your goals. Find customers and treat them well. Sponsor and train downline associates one at a time.

17) Nobody likes the word "no". You will hear this far more than you like. Don't take it personally - a "yes" is right around the corner. A "no" to your opportunity is not a "no" to you personally.

18) Understand that change in inevitable. Your company may make a change you don't like at some point. Human nature is to resist change. Be flexible for success.

19) Organizing your business is important, but don't go overboard. You need to be talking to people. Know that excessive organizing is often due to a fear of taking action.

20) Maintain a professional appearance. Dress neatly and look successful. Look in the mirror - would you want to talk about a home business opportunity with you?

21) Use sharp promotional materials. Don't make copies of brochures or print out information from the web. Use the original material provided by your company.

22) Be open to learning and use proven business building methods. Re-inventing the wheel is a common mistake. It's okay to be creative, but within reason.

23) Keep with the network marketing / MLM industry. Be aware of what other companies are doing. You will often talk to prospects who are considering other opportunities besides yours.

MLM or Network Marketing - What is it Really?

MLM is considered basically a channel of distribution for goods and services that also can have a "Franchise" opportunity attached. You can join a network marketing company and build a representative group or team that you can obtain royalties from, and build an override structure from what they do.

And most people look at MLM as exactly that: a system for creating wealth through your efforts and the efforts of others!

Nothing wrong with that point of view: however, there is a huge gap in that reality. Before you can build a group that does not go away, you MUST understand what MLM really is from a big picture viewpoint ... and all the rest will fall into place.

Network Marketing actually is this: Personal Development, wonderfully moulded into a business, that can be duplicated: over and over again!

What that means is MLM requires and pretty much demands Personal Growth and Personal Development from you in order for you to succeed.

To put it simply, network marketing is a business that is about Marketing and Distribution.

There isn't anyone that is not affected by the recession these days. From adjustable-rate mortgages, foreclosures, gargantuan gas prices and hikes in grocery items, we are all affected in one way or another.

Those planning to retire seem to be taking a major "hit" as they find their savings have shrunk and health benefits have risen along with all the other price increases already mentioned. Many continue working and many are returning to work just to make ends meet. Dreams and retirement plans are fading as this economy seems to worsen.

Those in direct selling or network marketing are feeling the pain of slower markets as well. However, there are things one can do to "ride the wave" and stay on top.

Mindset (or attitude) is everything in everything! It is extremely important to build your mindset that YOU CAN WIN IN THIS ECONOMY no matter where it is heading. Call it personal development or just plain "being positive". Whatever you call it, it works!

It's easy to see everything going on around you and think you will probably be affected in the same way others are by the down-turn in the market. But sometimes you hear of those who actually prosper and rise above the circumstances. How do they do it? Why can't that be you? Or maybe you have a marketing campaign that isn't producing well, or maybe even COSTING you too much. It's time to "trim the fat" and get rid of that marketing strategy.

A second idea might be to call your leads when no one else is . . . during the summer months. Many say summer time is a slow time. And they're right . . . because they say it's slow. And because they say it, they believe it and what they believe happens. Others will say it isn't slow . . . and they are right too. And THAT is what makes the difference between mediocrity and greatness!

Obviously, one's comfort zone is attacked having to "change" current modes of thinking, but again, survival may be dependent upon it.

Finally, building business "associations" can be such a blessing and will definitely build your business! Think about where associations can benefit you. Certainly a buddy who will exercise with you and a prayer partner to pray with you can help keep your head on straight and the use of anti-depressants to a minimum. And, basically making sure you have people rooting for you and/or pulling you up to the next "level" is a MUST in the business realm. Building relationships is a powerful survival tactic whether or not the economy is in a recession.

And now, if you think about it, recession-proofing is a good and prosperous thing in any area of your life . . . it mainly makes good sense!

Become The Hunted In Your Network Marketing Business

Well this one is very simple, but really not understood by many. Alright my question is, why do you sponsor with someone in the first place?

The main reason someone sponsors with a certain individual is because the sponsor knows more than they do. The prospects perceived value of the sponsor is very high.

In other words, the prospect thinks they can learn from this person and they can truly help them succeed.

So how do you up your perceived value which will lead you to more sign ups?

Simple, add more value to yourself. Dang it Westly I knew you were going to say that!

Let me explain what value really is in this industry. Value is information, plain and simple. The information you know that will lead you to success is powerful.

The main reason I sponsored with my sponsor was because he knew way more than me about marketing and promoting.

It was a no brainer, sign with him and he will teach you how to do the same thing.

So back to the question of how to gain value. Well, go out and learn something your prospects don't know. Fill a need or a problem that your prospects have. Give them information for free in a newsletter and teach them all that you know.

Golden Rule of Marketing: Give without any expectation of getting something in return.

Alright maybe I just made that up, but it damn well should be the golden rule because people have this industry very twisted.

Everyone expects people to just join up with them on their team automatically. Throw some replicated websites up and sponsor them. Don't get me wrong there're some doing this, but the people in their organization have a drop out rate of about three months. Do you want to rebuild your business every three months? Didn't think so.

If one of these people came up to me and said, "Hey you should join me in my business." I would take that as, "Hey I don't know you but give me 1000 bucks."

Are you kidding me?

Ultimately people join people, not a product, not a comp plan and not a company. They join you. So ask yourself a question. Would you want to join you? This is huge, once you actually believe deep in your heart that you can help people then yes people will want to work with you.

Please do it the right way first and you will have long term success, I guarantee it. Giving your knowledge away for free builds trust and it builds relationships, which is the right way to build a business. If you help people solve their problems, soon enough your problems will have solutions too.

Believe me if I kept learning something different from someone every couple days or every week I would definitely pay money to join their team. Simply because the perceived value is so high due to all the knowledge they have shared.

What am I suggesting?

I suggest you go out and start adding value to yourself. Get yourself educated on the industry and start learning what truly works. Trust me in this industry if you learn something that works you will have more value than 90% of everyone in it.

There is a lot of horrid information going around so if you find something that works, share it with people. Trust me people will sign up with you just to learn more.

For The Newbie in MLM, Finding a Good Mentor

This subject does not come up very often and then only occasionally on MLM and Network Marketing specific forums. Unlike finding a good sponsor, finding a good mentor, when starting out on your MLM career it is almost imperative for long term success.

Let me clarify this statement a little for you. Your sponsor does not make or break your success in MLM, as you can always track upline or sideline to find someone who will work with you. Upline, of course, would have a vested interest in your success from the monetary gain they can expect from your success.

A good mentor, on the other hand, can mean the difference between success and the frustration of failure when working your home based business. What do I mean by this? Well, a mentor can teach you the ropes and greatly assist you in not experiencing the same mistakes and fall backs that they themselves experienced thus shortening your learning curve and reducing great frustrations.

To find a good mentor you should determine where you would like to be in one to three years in your home based business. Would you like to be making say $5,000 a month? Then find a mentor that has been working the business full time and is currently earning a consistent recurring income of $5,000 to $10,000 per month. These elements are crucial in matching you up with someone whom you can respect, trust, and accept quality coaching.

I would also recommend that you find someone who has created their success with just one company versus moving from company to company. The consistency is imperative to you learning consistency and persistency in the business. Classically you want someone who will lead you by saying do as I do and do as I say. You must be willing to trust and accept this coaching.

Needless to say your personalities should match and both of you feel comfortable with each other as this will likely turn into a life long friendship as an added benefit. Successful people are always willing to help those people willing to put forth the effort, listen to what they have to offer, and produce the positive action necessary to show results. ACTION on your part is the primary key element to this relationship and MLM training to be successful.

A mentor does not have to be a hard search. Visit MLM and network marketing specific forums and read what people have to say, how they position themselves, how respected are these members, and get the gist of what other people think of them as professionals. These forums will give you great insight into the personality, professionalism, and experience of a person you may be selecting as your mentor.

Be polite and professional when approaching a potential mentor. Have your research completed before talking to them. Learn and know all you can about them professionally and as a person. This will go a long way in establishing yourself as being very serious in your quest. You must be comfortable and able to express your "why" for wanting them to spend time with you and also focus on what this relationship will do for them. Everyone always asks themselves when broached with this type of proposition, "what's in it for me?" Remember that.

In closing, make sure you exercise professionalism and manners when going about this search and dealing with potential mentors. Yes, there is specific etiquette expected by and from a professional in this industry. Doing the above will place you in an outstanding position to find a good compatible mentor who may be with you for the rest of your life.

So, you have joined the best Multi Level Marketing program around. You have learnt everything you had to and also have a set plan in mind. So, what is the only thing that is keeping you from the success you have destined to have? What is the only thing that is not realizing for you all those grandiose things the promoters promised you would have in a stupendously short time? An action plan... that is right, a action plan.

To quote a old phrase, 'for want of an army, the country was lost'. The same way, if you do not have definite and time-bound action plan for your MLM business, you may not see the success that a MLM business has the potential of. Here are just some of the situations that may occur if you do not take action in your MLM business.

Taking actions in an MLM are very important. You should have a proper, practical and thought about action plan before you get into the MLM business. Also, you should ensure that you do implement your action plan. Any action plan looks good on paper, but the real difficulties start when the action plan is actually set in action. That is when the problems occur and you come across roadblocks.

Basically, the best way is to have a weekly, monthly and yearly action plan. This way, you have a short term as well as a long term action plan. Also, you can keep a tab about the success ratio of your action plan and change it as and when required.

Also, any successes, even the smallest success of your action plan is actually a very big positive for your action plan.

People working under you will be dejected and walk away, while people working above you will stop considering you in their business plans and deadlines, which is not good news if you are new in the MLM business.

The 5 Reasons People Fail With Network Marketing

Human beings are complex creatures and so it is always a little risky to make general statements. Over time, however, a pattern emerges and we can get a very good idea why so many people start this business and then drop out.

1. Mishandling of rejection from close family members and their warm market.

When someone is first introduced to the concept of Network Marketing they become very motivated—mainly by the income possibilities—to start recruiting right away. Most companies will teach you to start with a list of your warm market and work from there. Even though this is a logical route, rejection from this group can be very discouraging and most people stop there. This means that the majority of recruits will give up after speaking with their spouses for example.

Only lately has Network Marketing become recognized as a viable and respected profession and many are still quick to cry, "Oh! You mean a pyramid scheme". This comes because of the negative press that many famous companies have received and the general misunderstanding of the public.

2. False expectations for too early results with too little effort.

Depending on the way in which the business is presented, one can get the impression that there is not much effort involved. I mean, just get two who gets two and you can become rich. When early recruits realize that considerable networking and marketing is involved in Network Marketing, disappointment quickly sets in. There is work involved, and any business that presents a plan to you and says that you don't have to do anything is peddling a lie. All successful network marketers worked for their success.

Many marketers do not factor into their planning the cost of advertising their business. This cost can eat up a good chunk of your investment especially when you are just launching. The idea here is that you have to regard this as a normal business and not just a trial run venture.

3. Lack of focus.

Network marketers have gained a reputation of jumping around and changing companies like they change clothing. At least this applies to those who flirt with success but never reach it.

As I mentioned before, those who survive the early years normally go on to do very well. However, there are many people who are looking for the 'next big thing' and keep jumping from opportunity to opportunity. This normally describes the behavior of those in search of the ever evasive 'ground-floor opportunity'. The rule of thumb here is that you should establish yourself in one solid company before venturing off into other companies. And if you do work more than one opportunity, make them complementary to each other. A perfect example is working a leads company which you'll need anyway to feed your primary Network Marketing company. In fact, if you find any tools that enhances your business, why not purchase from a company that has a compensation plan attached?

4. Failure to work an easy to duplicate recruiting plan.

With the advent of the Internet and all the new communication means that it affords, Network Marketing has come a long way from the home meetings and house to house presentations. Doing these presentations was very intimidating to many people and so the recruiting chain often broke along the way. The key here is that if the recruiting machine does not have a system that anyone can comfortably do, it will come to a screeching halt. Good trainers know that a simple system must be in place or the trainer's efforts will not be properly duplicated. If the impression is given that a recruit must be turned into an instant public speaker, giving motivational speeches at the local Hilton, they can be easily scared off.

At the same time, you must take the time to learn the system and become familiar enough with the products that you can tell a friend about its benefit. As a user yourself, this should not be difficult. A caution here is to work the system that has been field tested, rather than trying to invent your own methods. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't be innovative, but there is no use to reinvent the wheel either, so be teachable.

5. Baby-sitting of down line members.

Teaching is surely a part of the game of building a strong team. Some marketers make the mistake of doing too much for their down line members thinking that if they didn't their recruits will leave. This often backfires, however, because the down line members become comfortable and depend too heavily on their up line and never grow strong enough to build their own teams. There is only so much you can do for someone and no more. These spoiled over-dependent down line members can become a liability instead of an asset to your team. So avoid the temptation to micromanage your team; you'll get burnt out. Teach your team members to fish instead of fishing for them.

This is easier said than done but it's the price of success. There still must come a time when you will have to be in personal contact with your down line members however.

Part of preparing your mind for these 'negative' people is to fill your mind with positive messages. Who builds a house without first considering the cost?

When you are quoted the salaries of the big recruiters, be sure to ask how much time and money they spent to get to that level. This information will give you a clearer picture.

3. Once you find a reputable company be prepared to stay for the long haul.

This goes without saying but if you expect to succeed you must stay the course. The most successful people in life have gone through very trying times but they stuck with it and left a legacy behind. It is often said that tough times don't last but tough people do. The same is true for those seeking to build a solid recurring income. You should commit yourself to at least 3 years before making a decision either way.

Jumping from one opportunity to the next only shows a lack of decision and stability in you planning. Teenagers are expected to fall in and out of love every few months, but married couples have committed for life. Be prepared for a marriage not a fling!

4. Do not make the business more complicated than it needs to be. Stick with what works.

There is always the temptation to improve on the methods that experienced networkers have shown to work. Go with what works, not with what should work. If you find a system that has been working just plug into it and squeeze the last drop of success you can get from this. This means that you must show yourself teachable to your up line and be willing to teach your down line members the same system. Success normally comes from doing what works over and over again until it becomes second nature.

Another note of caution is that you should not expect from your recruits what you are not doing yourself. There a many networkers who will give advice that they are not willing to follow. In other word they get their team members to "do the dirty work" for them. This practice takes away from the real meaning of duplication—I'm doing the same thing that I'm teaching you to do.

5. Train and then let loose!

The real power of Network Marketing is the power of leverage. Rather than using 100% of your own effort, you are using 1% of the effort of a hundred. If your down line members become too dependent upon you then they will be using 110% of your effort. This can easily lead to rapid burnout.

So the key here is to train your frontline members, then train them to train their frontline members. As you gain leadership experience in the business then you can occasionally pick up the slack for a colleague. The important thing here is that your team members understand that effort is required on their part or they cannot expect your support.

6. Talk to many at the same time instead of one at a time.

We just mentioned that the real power of Network Marketing is leveraging your efforts. Did you ever notice that the real successful people in this industry never talk to one person at a time? Just think about it. Your recruiting message or script will be the same for each prospect. You are introducing them to a business opportunity. If you were to use the telephone to do your presentations, how many prospects can you talk to in one day? So here is what the serious marketers do:

Set up a toll free number with a recorded message and invite callers to leave their number and other contact information.
Advertise conference calls where many people can join and listen to your presentation at the same time.
Run a message board on your website where people can ask questions and discuss the business.
Host an online conference chat room.
Buy leads and load them into an auto responder with your prospecting message. Be careful of here to avoid SPAM complaints. Also confirm that the auto responder company that you use allows you to use purchased leads.

7. Target other network marketers.

This may seem to go against the issue of not jumping from opportunity to opportunity, but it is much easier to work with someone who has already worked in the industry than a totally new person. For these individuals you don't have to teach them to fish, they already know, and that can be a plus.

Network Marketing is a business for yourself but not by yourself.

Although there no hard and fast rule or any magic formula that I can suggest, because any system you decide to create will differ from company to company, you can develop your own turn-key system within your organization.

What this means is this kind of system is designed with the team in mind where you and all your downline all FOLLOW THE SAME SYSTEM as a general outline. Everybody needs to head in the same direction as a team and a single minded focus on achieving the team objective is crucial.

Here are some guidelines I can suggest to you:

Hold local training sessions besides the company's training sessions online or offline with all your team members
Educate all the team members about proper cash flow guidelines when building the business. Give everyone free material to review.
Everyone decide how much effort must be put in, for example, a weekly or monthly target volume to achieve.
Training sessions on how to use online systems that generate leads or using affiliate websites (if your company sponsors one). You may even work together to create your own team website. - Buddy system to minimize prospecting costs (like driving to the meetings together or prospecting together)
Brainstorming ideas on other ways to save costs (for example: joining a phone plan together as mentioned above)

The key point to remember is this: Everyone must focus on following the same system in your team!

It is crucial for duplication. Can you imagine 100 people all going in their own direction? It smells like a recipe for disaster.

The ultimate goal is to train a team of independent, cash generating downlines who are MAKING MONEY and helping their downlines to do the same.

Because in the end of the day, how good your turn-key system turns out reflects heavily on you through the success of your downlines.

What is the point of sponsoring 10-20 people, and the next week there is only 1 or 2 left in the business? If attrition is very high in your network, it is even more so to create a system for your downline.

An idle downline is a common problem in Network Marketing. You first start a business and you're seeing growth and great potential. That is when the ride stops. Suddenly you notice a huge drop in the amount of people joining your downline and even worse, even though you may still be bringing people in yourself you do not see any duplication throughout your network.

The problem is usually not the company or anything to do with the company such as the product or support. The problem has to do with you and the upline support. The truth is, you have to set the example and pace for your own unique organization. You have to take control and help it prosper. It is your responsibility to step up as leader. The good thing is that being a leader is a skill that anyone can learn. All it takes is learning the needed actions to help move your downline into action itself.

I learned this the hard way at first. I never had trouble sponsoring a lot of people myself, my problem was always in the productivity of my downline. You can literally multiply your income if you simply learn a few strategies to connect your downline to information.

Knowledge is the key to success and knowledge only comes from learning information. Look at it from the point of a coach for a sports team. Most network marketers and direct sellers prospect people, pique their interest, present the opportunity... and then walk away all ticked off when the prospect says "no". If you let your emotions get the best of you, you're doomed and you'll never experience any level of success in MLM. You'll get mad, frustrated, and eventually you'll quit. That's the reason most people never make any substantial money.

Success, however, is a simple choice. So if you're ready to succeed, here are 3 simple mindset shifts that will help you maximize your sales and recruiting.

1) Remember that you are a business owner and all businesses must market in order to stay in business. It's just part of the game, and I suggest you don't try to change the rules. (Unless you just want an expensive and very time consuming hobby)

The upside to belly-to-belly marketing is that you can create rapport much easier and establish better relationships than with traditional marketing methods. The downside is that you have to deal directly with all the no's. And those rejections can sting a lot, if you let them.

One way to let go of the sting is to realize that in marketing, most people are going to say no. There is no company or marketing expert in the world that gets a sale from anywhere near most of the people they market to. In fact, most marketing campaigns are considered successful if they can get a small percent of the prospects to say yes - a small percent!

Now I'm not saying that you should be happy with a closing ratio of a very small percentage, because in direct sales, it will be higher. But the bottom line is - MOST PEOPLE WILL SAY NO. That's part of the game. So don't get emotional when everything works out that way - it's supposed to.

2) Recruit DESIRE, not POTENTIAL. Success in network marketing requires recruiting people who want to succeed, not people who could succeed. But hang around any MLM crowd, and you'll hear distributors getting overexcited about the potential of their latest recruit. "He could be SO GOOD" in this business.

Here's the problem - all 6 billion of the people on this planet COULD be great in network marketing if they decide to. Everyone who can communicate can do well in MLM. But success is a choice; it's not an ability or a characteristic. The only long term outcome of getting excited about potential is frustration when most people don't do what they say they're going to do.

So instead of setting your filter to attract people who have the ability to succeed (nobody will be weeded out), set your filter to notice and attract people who have a burning desire to succeed at all costs.

Recruit desire. Teach the skillset later.

3) Stop trying so hard. Recruiting can be effortless, if you make it that way. You've still got to take action, but there's a big difference between effort and action.

When you know your true purpose for working your business, and all of your actions are aligned with your values, the whole process can actually become fun - it doesn't feel like 'effort' at all.

What makes selling and recruiting feel 'hard' is the emotion you put into it. But when you take the emotion out, there's nothing hard about it. You filter for people who want what you have, and offer it to them. Simple.

I'm not saying take the emotion completely out of the business, because everyone makes emotional buying decisions, so your offers should absolutely be drawing out the emotion of your prospect. But as far as your actions are concerned, emotion is deadly.

Armed with the right marketing mindset, you'll have all the success you desire in your MLM business.

Beginners guide to Network Marketing Part 2

In part 1 of this guide I showed you the system you need to follow in order to be successful, in this part I will show you how to buy the right product to start your network marketing business.

For somebody just starting in network marketing I would also suggest that you do not invest in a high end product, with a high commission payout at first.

I would recommend that you have a lower value product to start with. An information product such as an ebook that sells for $39.95 works really well. The point is to get people onto your list. You can always buy into a more expensive product at a later time and market that product to your list at that time.

Use your budget on low cost advertising to grow your list and to add value to yourself with knowledge and products. Get some leads and build your list, make some low value sales and get yourself into a position where you are breaking even with your network marketing business, before you buy into a high end product.

This way you reduce the risks involved and stand a much better chance of success, because you are not putting you, under as much pressure. You can evolve at a more natural rate for you.

In order to be really successful you need to be able to show your value to your list, so that they know when they buy a product from you, you are willing and able to help them to make sales and duplicate. Once you are in that position you have it all sorted out.

How do you know the right product?

Because this business is all about duplication, you need to join somebody who can help you to duplicate, you need an up line that resonates with you and who has the knowledge, ability and the time to show you how to duplicate.

Before you buy a product think about the whole process above and see if it ticks all the boxes. Work on the presumption that if you like something then the people that you attract will also like it, because you will without realising it attract people that are like you.

There is one last but important thing that you should look for in your product and that is to see who does the product or system brand. What I mean by this is, who is on the lead capture page, the direct sales page and who do the auto responder emails come from? If the answer is not you, then you will be advertising somebody else by placing all of your adverts.

When somebody comes to any part of your product or system you want the communication to come from you!

You can of course take a product, design your own lead capture page, direct sales page and set up an auto responder. There are loads of products available to help you do this, however if you are just starting, your efforts would be much better spent on advertising and getting more traffic to your from you already and that allows you to spend your time in the most productive way, rather than designing Web pages and testing them to check conversion rates.

Five Keys to Success in Network Marketing

OK! We've all heard that there are many "secrets" to success in Network Marketing and MLM. We've also heard that your upline is lying to you and not sharing their "secrets" about the business and industry. That's all just horse hockey! The biggest secret about success in this business and industry is that there isn't any secret. Surprised? I thought you might be, but it is very true. Oh! And by the way, your sponsor has a vested interest in your personal success so he is not going to be lying to you about what it takes. More on this later.

- Key #1: You! That's right, you. Here's what I mean about "you." The success or failure you experience in network marketing and MLM is totally reliant upon you, your beliefs, your attitude, and the direct actions you take toward success. You must have a very strong "why" you want to be in this business and what you want to attain as the benefits or your efforts. The stronger the why the greater chance of success. I determined my "why" by completing a vision statement of how I want my life to be as a result of my efforts. What my life will look like, smell like, be like, experience and advantages I will have that I don't have now. Vision statements will be covered in detail in another article.

There are many areas of your life you will need to evaluate to determine what type of product or service you wish to represent and market. Along with that, the choice of company is paramount in keeping yourself aligned with your wants and vision. See yourself as a success with this company and product. If you can't see it then it won't happen. Keep searching. You have to be the driving force behind your success. Yes, there are many other elements that come into play but "you" are the ultimate key to your own success.

- Key #2: Product or service. What products or services get you excited or do you already have a firm foundation of experience and knowledge? This may or may not take some time on your part to crystallize. It is as an important key as any of the others and must be addressed from a business point of view. Can you make a profit with this product or service? Is there a ready made market? Is there exclusivity in the product or service not found in the general consumer market? Exclusivity is nice but is also short-lived in this consumer market.

Network Marketing has hundreds of quality products and services available to you including travel, nutritional, health, long distance, VIOP, communication, energy, and many others. Don't make the mistake of following the herd but then again, don't be too unique that no one has ever heard of it either. Choosing a product or service to represent in your home based business is as personal as the company you select to partner with that has your offering.

- Key #3: Selecting the company that represents and markets your chosen product or service. This is so important and requires research, due diligence, investigation, interviews with existing reps, interviews with potential sponsors, and following that, oh so important, "gut feeling." To keep it simple, I will list for you the requirements that I used to pick my current company and this may shed some light on what you need to look for in your company.

Solid company of five years or older
A fun, professional, and enthusiastic "culture"
Competent corporate staff with business management and NWM/MLM experience on the front lines.
Exclusive product by quality unmatched in the marketplace
Products supported by real life studies for efficacy and quality
A robust comp plan that is quick to see results and easy to understand
Ability to retail products at a reasonable price for "right now" money
A quality marketing plan and support tools in place
Solid and increasing annual sales and distributor growth
Qualified Upline with proven success and willingness to share information
A plan for a successful system to plug into and NOT reinvent the wheel
Both company and product recognized in the community for quality
Easy online signups and prospect back office tracking
Company websites provided at no or minimum cost to the distributor
Outstanding customer support in knowledge and helpfulness
No voicemail, phone trees, but "real people" answering the phones
Company MUST be distributor oriented with income based on volume and not on the

- Key #4: Selecting a sponsor may or may not have a direct effect on your success but, it may definitely affect your failure without the correct choice. Many people in the industry will tell you that your sponsor will not dictate your success or failure in the business and industry. This may be true however; I believe having all of the proper support and guidance is to your best advantage. Once you've selected a company then begins the process of determining who is the best fit to have as your sponsor? Is this person currently working the business? Are they successful to the point you would like to be someday? Can you relate to this person and like them? Are they forthcoming with information, knowledge, experiences so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel but learn from their experiences?

A final and very important question regarding the selection of a qualified sponsor, would you want to take a 30 day cruise with this person? Think about that for a moment and the answer will be very revealing.

- Key #5: In addition to the above, is there a viable and robust training/marketing system in place and a viable and robust team for support and interaction? All of this lends itself to a further advantage toward success provided the previous keys have been taken seriously and good decisions made. You don't want to be left out to stand on your own but want a group of like minded people to interact and learn from their experiences. You want to feel part of a successful team, almost like a family.

As for the training/marketing system, do you want to have to create that all by yourself or would you rather have it up and running and productive from day one. Look for video and audio training, sizzle lines, 800#s, contact management back office, auto responders, existing sizzle messages, emails, and auto responder messages. All of this will save you a great deal of time, shorten the learning curve, allow you to focus on building your business, and increasing your ROI (Return On Investment).

OK then! By accomplishing the above keys you have started out on a strong path to becoming successful in your own home based business in network marketing and MLM. I know this looks like a great deal of effort but starting a business is not a flippant decision and needs to be researched in many areas to give you the best chance of success.
