Summers in Minnesota may seem short so people try to cram in as much activities as possible. They are also great for relaxation. The days are nice to bath under the warmth of the sun, while the nights offer a refreshing decline in tempature to enjoy the warmth of a soothing bonfire. There is nothing like a week worth of relaxation in the solitude and tranquility of lakeside living. Below look how guest enjoy the "lazy days of summer" at East Silent Resort.<br /><br /><br /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="288" height="192" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2FFamilyofLeonard%2Falbumid%2F5349878921381406897%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4512530955328678547-9201797987028939018?l=eastsilentresort.com%2Fblog%2Findex.htm'/></div>Leonard Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15469082245356851953noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512530955328678547.post-11935599330633952102009-06-15T21:42:00.014-05:002009-06-15T22:13:49.522-05:00Endless PossibilitiesEnjoy countless outdoor activities…fish, swim, boat, ski, wakeboard, golf, hike, or bike! Unfortunately, Minnesota loses dozens of resorts each year. Valley News is reporting on what existing resorts (like East Silent Resort) are doing to remain sustainable. We work hard to add new amenities for our guests, like the water trampoline, toys, etc. Guests, especially kids, enjoy our many activities and events. We also take pride in our manicured grounds and comfortable cabins...which are updated almost annually. It is our wonderfully loyal guests, however, that make East Silent Resort SO special!!! We realize there are many vacation destinations. But each year, families return (some for over 50 years). So, thank you GUESTS for choosing East Silent Resort as your "timeless tradition."<br /><br />The Leonards<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4512530955328678547-5771545239141308360?l=eastsilentresort.com%2Fblog%2Findex.htm'/></div>Nick Leonardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08503121681694713528noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512530955328678547.post-60494574029434464342009-03-22T23:16:00.010-05:002009-04-16T22:27:42.334-05:00East Silent Resort Fishing MemoriesHello East Silent Resort Friends...<br /><br />As our guests aleady know, East Silent Lake provides some of the best and most diverse fishing in the Otter Tail area. East Silent Resort is also just minutes from hundreds of other excellent fishing lakes. Lake Lizzie near Detroit Lakes offers great Walleye, Northern Pike and Bluegill numbers. Star Lake near Dent also specializes in Northern Pike and Bluegill. Dead Lake is located about 3 miles south of Dent and connects to Otter Tail and Walker lakes via the Dead River. In less than a month (May 9th, 2009) the Walleye and Pike fishing opener will be here. With fishing season right around the corner, it has us thinking about our favorite "fish stories" from 2008. We put together this photo essay to capture the many stories about East Silent Resort fishing. Hope you enjoy it!<br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><embed pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fnickgleonard%2Falbumid%2F5325496001460797345%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss%26authkey%3DGv1sRgCISF-u2ikarpKg"></embed></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div align="center"></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4512530955328678547-6049457402943446434?l=eastsilentresort.com%2Fblog%2Findex.htm'/></div>Nick Leonardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08503121681694713528noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512530955328678547.post-51280081832016465052009-03-22T22:25:00.010-05:002009-04-16T21:33:00.637-05:00Return of the East Silent Resort BlogHello Friends...<br /><br />Are you ready for Spring? We are! After a long break...the East Silent Resort Blog is back! Going forward, we'll try our best to provide regular updates about the resort and Otter Tail Country area! We are even looking for "guest bloggers." So, feel free to send your favorite resort memory, fish story, or even recommendations for future guests.<br /><br />As many of you remember (and experienced), the East Silent Resort "Human Launch" was a favorite activity last summer. Kids, teens, and adults alike enjoyed the thrill of launching each other through the air and into crystal clear East Silent Lake. After closer inspection, however, it wasn't really a boat. Rather, Craig (East Silent Resort guest) and Dale (local piolt) landed a float plane on East Silent Lake. Jack and his wife Darlene, along with good friends (the Matt's) enjoyed touring Otter Tail County.<br /><br /><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://www.eastsilentresort.com/blog/uploaded_images/100_1801-767325.JPG" border="0" /><br /><strong>IOWA HAWKEYE</strong><br />Jack played basketball, football, and baseball for the University of Iowa in the 1940's. In fact, he was the last athlete to earn 9 letters!!! He was chosen Iowa's Most Valuable Player in 1949, and was in the school record book for a long time as the career leader in touchdown catches with 13. Over the past two weeks, Missy and Charlie the Chimpmunk have become close friends. As you can see (below), Charlie enjoys eating peanuts and relaxing on Missy's lap. According to Missy, the only downside to having a furry friend is Charlie's early morning "chirping" outside her cabin window. Charlie and the other chipmunks hope you'll visit them too. Don't forget the peanuts!</div><div> </div><div><a href="http://www.eastsilentresort.com/blog/uploaded_images/100_1834-719265.JPG"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://www.eastsilentresort.com/blog/uploaded_images/100_1834-718774.JPG" border="0" /></a> <img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://www.eastsilentresort.com/blog/uploaded_images/100_1831-773070.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><div></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4512530955328678547-6641999552836936193?l=eastsilentresort.com%2Fblog%2Findex.htm'/></div>Nick Leonardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08503121681694713528noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512530955328678547.post-62199118672002397242007-06-28T14:19:00.000-05:002007-06-28T14:52:32.277-05:0050 Years of Fun at East Silent ResortEast Silent Resort truly is a "Timeless Tradition!"
