As I promised a couple of days ago, here is the complete team of villains I have made and will be playing on my return to City of Villains. Since I never really tried the “villain” side of City of Heroes, I guess I can honestly say I am not returning but starting fresh. Playing villains is a little odd to me, but I want to see the new content so I have to. I cannot get into playing a villain unless they have a valid reason to be a villain, and usually I prefer a hero that has fallen from grace.Volt robs a bank
Most of my new characters have intricate backgrounds that I wrote up in my hand, not on paper unfortunately. Some of my villains are blatant rip offs, others incorporate current heroes in print literature into their powers. Playing a game like this it is hard to be original because you have decades of comics out there and someone is usually bound to have come up with your idea at one time or another. The best thing to do when this happens is ignore the cynics and play the way you want and write your character’s back story the way you want.
When I logged my heroes in the again after 2years, their original backstories were still printed on the in game ID cards, and it was a blast to go back and read what I wrote so long ago.
City of Heroes power leveling/Villains still does one thing well. The game is a straight up combat simulator. If you do not like to fight and run missions, then this game is not for you. You will be doing that. You will do this over and over but to me it doesn’t get old until I cannot find people to play with. That is the case in most MMO’s I have quit. Luckily, as I posted the other day, City of Heroes, much like EQ2, has methods to keep you and your friends close. I also like the game as a nice break from WoW due to the fact that it is not loot driven, and I can just do my thing.
Ok so all my villains are on the Victory server, all of them are waiting for anyone that wants to join me as a sidekick (or whatever the villain equivalent is) and most of them have lower case “L”’s bracketing their names. So for example The Finisher in game is l The Finisher l .
Ok I am only going to post screens of the ones I actually plan to put time in on.
First up, my current “main” villain, and quite by accident, the electrical stalker The Volt. The Volt is a science villain that uses his power gloves to manipulate the energy in the air around him as well as electrical current. At first I didn’t think I would play this guy too much but I really am starting to like him. He actually hit level 9 so fast that before I knew it I found myself just logging him in automatically. He has the hide ability as his second power set and is able to emerge from stealth with a nasty electrical shock attack that can sometimes one shot white con enemies. Along with this he uses Jacob’s Ladder which is a frontal electric attack to hit two enemies at once. This radiates foward from his gloves when he brings them close together. The Volt has been known to accidentally harm or kill many innocent bystanders due to the unpredictable nature of the equipment he wears.
Nest up the one that I like to play but sometimes find myself resisting because he is a tank and that is the Anti Patriot. You guessed it, this guy is the exact opposite of anything Supreme Soldier or even Captain America would stand for. In the CoH world, this villain is meant to be the enemy to my hero Supreme Soldier. He is a energy/shield brute (a villain tank basically) with a robotic arm that powers his strength. This guy is bad news and will do anything to topple governments the world over. That is what he gets paid to do. I avoid leveling him because I always fall into the trap of tanking in MMO’s and in this game it is a thankless job. I do love busting heads with this guy though and he has a swank outfit. No, he does not “throw” his shield. He just uses it to get in close then beat people to dust with that arm of his.
Next up we have the underworld’s answer to everything and that is The Finisher. Finisher is another stalker with a power set equal to Supreme Soldier. I just wanted the same type of character but on the villain side. He wears a special suit that allows him to blend with his environments and is a paid killer. He “finishes” the dirty jobs that everyone else is afraid to touch or get near. He is a martial arts expert and is lethal in hand to hand combat. His suit also enhances his speed through the use of stimulants and this tends to make him quick to subdue or kill his foes without a second thought.
No account would be complete without a character than can summon ninjas or robots. In my case, since I hate all that ninja garbage, I went with robots. Mechano is next and he is pretty much a mastermind archetype character that summons attack robots. Mechano is dying, and uses his science to keep himself alive. Since he is so weak and cannot get the funding he needs to continue his research, he has turned to a life of robbery and crime to get what he needs. To do this he put his genius to work in the form of massive attack mecha that he uses to terrorize the general populace. It is quite possible that Mechano has gone insane through the abuse of his life extending drugs but don’t tell him that.
Now I made a mutant last Sunday night finally. His name is Alabaster. White skinned of course, with deformed lizard like hands. He is a mind control mutant that causes pain through psionic attacks and domination of foes. He has to hide the lower part of his face and is rather used to sulking about in public and generally using his powers to get people to do things he wants.
I have one more character, but he is set aside as a “healer” and won’t be played unless someone I know wants to duo in game. That is all for now! I will continue exploring the game on the villain side when I have a chance and report back! COH power leveling.

WHAT IS THE TEST SERVER?
The Test Server is your chance to preview upcoming changes and updates and provide feedback to the developers.
The test server is set up specifically for the testing of updates *before* they are incorporated into the game itself. Players can login, preview/test the planned new features, fixes, changes, tweaks and offer up bug reports or suggestions.
How does a test server differ from a “live” server?
* Due to the nature and purpose of a test server, the operative word to keep in mind is “temporary.”* Content and characters could be wiped at anytime as game specific updates and changes are published, tested and removed.* Players can expect lower levels of support, since the bulk of this service is centered around our live servers.* Normal bug reporting and petitions will be handled a bit differently, as all issues need to be given more time for in-depth study, review and reproduction.
(steps 1-5, a little long because it goes into an indepth explanation so as make is useable for even the completely computer illiterate.)
HOW TO ACCESS THE TRAINING ROOM TEST SERVER
In order to access the test server, you will need to download and install a second copy of the game. This second copy will patch up the test files to your PC. The steps for this process are outlined below.
1. Locate the file 'CohUpdater.exe'. If the game was installed to the default folder then look for: 'C:\Program Files\City of Heroes'. Do not create a shortcut for the desktop shortcut. To do this, you will have to locate the City of Heroes folder.2. After you locate the City of Heroes folder, you will need to create a new shortcut to the COH power leveling file in the City of Heroes folder. To create a shortcut, right click on the file you wish to create a shortcut for. You can then select an option Create Shortcut which will then create the shortcut.3. Right click on the new shortcut and open the Properties option.4. In the Target window, add the following flag to the end of the line:o [space]-testo Do NOT add the word [space] to the Target. The example shown is intended to visually represent a single keystroke of the space bar, and should not be interpreted literally. An example of the correct use of the Flag is listed below.o The finished selection should look like this after you add the flag:+ "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -testo Below are possible incorrect additions of the flag to add the test client. After the client installs, you will need to copy a character over to the test server. To do this, go to this URL:

1. Use your City of Heroes login name and password to login.
2. After you login, you will be able to select the server and character you wish to copy to the test server. It will take several moments, but the character will copy. At this point you will be able to play the test server.
NOTE - Those who have just restarted their accounts may experience a delay or wait of up to 24 hours to be able to copy a character to the test server.
After you copy your character to the test server, you should be able to play the test client. Before you can play however, you will have to run the new shortcut you created to the cohupdater. You can copy the shortcut you created to the desktop by dragging and dropping it from the City of Heroes power leveling folder to the desktop. You will have to run this shortcut each time you wish to use the test server. Enjoy playing!

The most obvious benefit you can see is the infusion of content into a game that really needs it. Don’t misunderstand me, I absolutely loved playing the game, but clearing the same warehouse with a slight variation of enemy isn’t going to hold my attention forever. Sure the bank robbery missions were great but beyond a few developer scripted boss fights, it seems problematic to try and support your entire progression through piecemeal questing. The Mission Architect will allow player created missions from all shards to become available and who knows exactly how many that could mean? Mediocre ones could easily run in the thousands and that could entertain the community for months. The really good ones with multiple objectives and complexity found in developer created content will do nothing but improve upon what we already have available.

Age of Conan Power Leveling
So, I'm currently Age of Conan Power Leveling in the middle of grinding for Aldor rep, and I've discovered my favorite place to grind that, experience, and items: The Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley. I mentioned it in an earlier post, but it bears going over in more detail.
If you're melee, you want to go after the Wrathwalkers. They hit me (warri0r) for about 80-100 each hit, without a shield. They attack slowly, and other than they only cast one spell, maybe once per battle, and Age of Conan Power Leveling it can be easily interrupted. They have low armor and low HP, and I have been cutting through them in under 10 seconds, usually. They drop Marks of Sargeras, which is what I was there for. But they also drop Netherweave like candy -- I got 100 pieces in an hour. I also got 3 decent greens.
I only ever saw a few other people here, and even if there are, there are tons of mobs. Casters, you can probably focus on whichever mobs you want. Just be warned, the Terrormasters cast fear sometimes, which can run Age of Conan Power Leveling you into more mobs, even when they're spaced out as they are here. Otherwise, these mobs are unremarkable in their abilities.
Ranging in level from 67 to 68, this is a great place to farm gold (especially if Netherweave sells well on your server, and it does on most!), and simply grind out levels. I was hitting about 110k xp/hour. Plus, there are Horde/Alliance areas nearby, if you need to junk vendor trash, mail stuff to your banker, or buy more Age of Conan Power Leveling food/water.
AOC Power Leveling
The best grinding AOC Power Leveling spots are places where the mobs are relatively easy for their level, plentiful, but not dangerously so, and somewhere where you'll be safe and left in peace by both factions.
Go to Terokkar and look on your map. In the Bone Wastes, there are 2 icons for buildings of a sort. The one on the left is a Shadow Tomb. It's a 3-wing area, and each wing has 7 to 10 mobs, built of warrior types, mage types, and rogue types. Now, the rogues don't stealth, the mages AOC Power Leveling don't do much damage, and the warriors are rather squishy. They're level 64 and 65, mostly.
This spot is a fantastic place to grind from maybe 65 or 66 on. Not only will you get tons of Aldor rep items (Marks of Kil'Jaeden and Fel Armaments), you'll rarely find other players in here, because most people grind on AOC Power Leveling the mobs above the surface, not in the tomb. The mobs are easy to pull one at a time, and even if you pull two, you can probably handle it. I grinded here for about 1 hour, and I got 3 greens, 1 blue (Boots of Savagery), 50 marks of Kil'Jaeden, 4 stacks of Netherweave, and 1 stack of Runecloth. I was averaging about 120,000xp per hour, AOC Power Leveling because by the time you clear the last wing, the 1st wing is respawned. There is almost no downtime aside from resting.

Netherweb Spider Silk is needed in wow Power Leveling almost every Tailoring recipe above 350. This stuff is particularly hard to get (unless you read this!), so a lot of players resort to simply buying it.
Now, one good place to get it is in Terokkar Forest. My favorite spot is the little green strip of land on the East side of the Bone Wastes. Look for Allerian Stronghold on your map, and then follow the mountain range south, and you should see it. There are more spiders here than elsewhere in Terokkar. However, the drop rate is rather wow Power Leveling low, and it is very often farmed. But even a low amount of silk will sell for a pretty penny!
Now, if you happened to be able to go into the Caverns of Time, I suggest the Black Morass. Look for Blackfang Tarantulas. Like most non-elite instance mobs, they give no rep per kill. Worthless, right? Wrong! They have a decent chance of dropping Netherweb Spider Silk! And the best part is, there is no competition if you're farming in an instance. These mobs are only 67-69; very easy for a level 70 rip through. If you kill them all, just reset the instance. When you're bags are full, hit the Auction House. Don't be afraid to undercut the competition to sell! When you sell all of yours, that negligible loss of gold won't even matter. Happy wow Power Leveling farming!

Okay, so here's part 2 of my jewelcrafting wow gold guide. First of all, let me say this: Jewelcrafting lets you cut gems, and make jewelry. I will be focusing on the gems, because it is the best way to make money from the profession.
Pretty simple rules for Jewelcrafting. First, get to 350+ as soon as possible. (Search my blog, I linked to a good guide some time ago. Or Google it.) Once you are at 350, the fun begins. But first, I have bad news: trained cuts and vendor recipe cuts don't sell for a huge deal. Sure, they sell, and you don't have anything else to do with your raw gems, except for sell uncut ones to other jewelcrafter wow gold s. So, you can make some money by selling those unremarkable gems.
Now, the REAL Jewelcrafting moneymaker comes from cutting gems from dropped recipes. Unfortunately, that means you have to be lucky enough to get one, or have the stomach to buy one. These things can cost from 200 to 500 gold, depending on the recipe. Now, unlike some professions that have lots of cooldowns, in Jewelcrafting only cutting a Meta gem causes a cooldown, and it's only for one hour, and doesn't keep you from cutting non-Meta gems. So, once you get a good recipe wow gold (or recipes), you'll be able to buy an uncut blue gem or purple gem, cut it, and resell it at quite a nice profit. Try that with alchemy transmutes!
Jewelcrafting is fairly cheap to level up, but yes, it does require some investment in the end. It takes money to make money, people! But any time someone upgrades their gear with something with sockets (which is most good gear), they need new gems for it. There is ALWAYS a market for good gems, and if you bite the bullet wow gold and buy/find a great recipe, you'll rake it in.
Now, which recipes? First of all, in the course of your adventuring in Outlands, you're going to get rep with various factions, and some of them sell recipes! Here are a few to wow gold watch for.

World of Warcraft gold
One of my World of Warcraft gold friends was, at one time, a very dedicated WoW player. He could put so much time into it that it baffled me, and still does. I can only go for maybe 2 hours of play at a time, and usually only once a day! My friends, through a combination of question at 70 and mining, made the 5000 gold for his epic mount in about 3 weeks.
Now, I've already done a post about questing at 70. If you've got the stomach for it, grind as much as possible. That will leave you with tons of quests to do at 70, and you'll get gold for each. I may, if I World of Warcraft gold can stand it, do that with my shadow priest, once I get there. I'll definitely keep track, though, and post the results if I do.
Now, mining. The best place to mine in Outlands is Nagrand. Almost all the nodes are adamantite, or rich adamantite deposits. I did about 30 minutes there just now, and got got 27 ore, 20 motes of earth, and 4 eternium ore. All told, that's about 70 gold. I know, 70 gold an hour isn't huge, but it's RELIABLE. I'm going to put this money to use in the Auction House, which I still think is the best way to turn a little money into a lot. I'm going to start keeping a log of what I do with a starting amount of 70 gold or so, rather like Derek's Gold Project X. It'll be an interesting way to show Auction House World of Warcraft gold tactics, and it'll force me to not be lazy and abandon it! Thoughts?

Okay, here we go, wow power leveling time for me to go over daily quests. If you don't know why they are good, here is why: there are about 15 daily quests over all of the factions, and they give an average of 10g or so per. However, you can only do 10 per day, so plan accordingly! This is how people usually get the 5,000 they need to get their flying mount! wow power leveling Anyway, here we go!
Netherwing QuestsFirst of all, you need to be Neutral with Netherwing to begin the daily quests. If you aren't neutral yet, follow this link to the WoWHead list of the quest chain, with lots of helpful wow power leveling comments! Netherwing is the faction that allows you to get a Netherdrake at the end of the long, long road.
Once you are Neutral (9 quests later), and have some sort of flying mount, you can do the dailies. Here they are, with links to WoWHead for details. I will include gold approximates, but if you want the real skinny on them, follow the links

World of Warcraft Power Leveling
Boy, am I sick of grinding World of Warcraft Power Leveling Aldor rep. I've been LIVING at Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley for a week, grinding whenever I play. It's contributing well to my flying mount fund, but still, it gets old.
So, today I tried a new spot - the Arklon Ruins, southeast of Area 52 in Netherstorm. Wow! It's actually a great place to grind. The mobs are Artifact Seekers and Felblade Doomguards. Unlike the Legion Hold mobs, who have high-damage spells you need to watch out for, these mobs only auto attack, and weakly. They are quite squishy, and I only had to stop to eat about once per 10 or so kills. Also, they drop Marks of Sargeras at about 30%, World of Warcraft Power Leveling which is 5% higher than the mobs at Legion Hold! It doesn't seem like much, but it really is. They also drop Fel Armaments more. In 1 hour of grinding I got 2 greens, 42 Marks, and 4 Fel Armaments! The only downside is that I didn't come out with 100+ Netherweave to sell. :(
So, there you have it. For a speed grind, hit World of Warcraft Power Leveling Arklon Ruins. For lots of gold as well as rep items, Legion Hold.

WOW Power Leveling
very useful WOW Power Leveling tool. Basically, it's like Google Earth, but for World of Warcraft! Even better, you can set it to show the spawn points of any environmental nodes, like herbs, mining nodes, or treasure chests!
With the ability to zoom out, you can find which zones have inherently more of whatever item(s) you are looking for. If you're a rogue, I suggest you begin farming treasure chests in Outlands as soon as you have the ability. You can gather lots of blues or epics with some persistence and luck (or, lacking luck, just lots of persistence). Or if you're a blacksmith, make some keys and go to it! I do recommend that if you're going to go farming for things WOW Power Leveling like this, have at least your epic ground mount. Of course, a flying mount makes everything in Outlands even easier, ESPECIALLY when you can bypass all the mobs and get to where you want to go without hassle!
Alternatively, look up the Cartographer addon in Google, and you will find that it can be set up to modify your maps ingame to show these same spawn points. I have more info about that particular functionality in my WOW Power Leveling post about Cartographer databases!

World of Warcraft Power Leveling
Tired of World of Warcraft Power Leveling grinding water elementals? Have a high fishing skill you never use?
Well, let's be honest. Grinding water elementals is probably the most efficient way to get motes of water. Fishing, great skill though it is, isn't one many people keep up to snuff in Outlands. However, aside from being able to fish for then cook some very nice +stat food, you can fish for motes of water, if you'd like a change of pace!
Fishing spots work a bit differently from other nodes. The best place to fish for motes of water is in Nagrand, in the 3 MAIN lakes (the 3 that almost touch, biggest on the map, hard to miss). Across all 3 exist about 30 pools of water (bluefish school, mudfish school, or pure water). When you fish one, it immediately respawns at another location, as World of Warcraft Power Leveling one of the 3 types I listed.
Now, you want to look for the Pure Water, though you need to fish ALL of them you see, in hopes that when the spot respawns elsewhere, it will be pure water. There's about a 90% chance you'll get a mote of water from it. If you get 4 or 5 motes per pool at maybe 8 pools an hour, that's somewhere between 2.5 and 4 primal water per hour, roughly. The good thing is that fishing is somewhat hard to get to the level needed (about 450, preferably), World of Warcraft Power Leveling and pretty annoying to boot, so your competition should be minimal!
