Nicole, my super-awesome stylist asked me mid-cut, "Did Team Cuttler win Man of the Year? One of my clients had asked." I raised my eyebrow. "Your client," I responded. "How did she know to ask you?" "Oh, she was in here waiting one day while you were getting your haircut. When you left, she asked if you were Noah from Team Cuttler."Alas, we did Support the Mission!!!http://www.blogger.com/profile/08284257376759324004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4414877414422284652.post-65056303106896843252007-06-27T09:07:00.000-05:002007-06-27T09:12:09.438-05:00Celebration Party at 18th and Red - Free Beer! With your support, Team Cuttler took First Runner Up in the 2007 Man & Woman of the Year campaign, raising a whopping $62,309 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and blood cancer research, education and patient services! Probably the hardest part of the campaign came the night of the Grand Finale Gala when I attempted to tie my own bowtie. A tricky instrument, even with a few practice runs the week before I couldn't quite manage when it counted (I liken it to fixing a flat tire during a race). I eventually got it to work, or at least well enough, and with that out of the way the rest of the night wasn't so bad.Support the Mission!!!http://www.blogger.com/profile/08284257376759324004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4414877414422284652.post-91567917255543413442007-06-16T06:34:00.000-05:002007-06-16T06:39:03.461-05:00THE DEADLINE FOR ONLINE DONATIONS HAS BEEN EXTENDED!!!THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY HAS EXTENDED THE DEADLINE FOR ONLINE DONATIONS!!! Brad is a phenomenal TC Athlete, raising over $600 for the campaign and running two endurance events in the process. He's moving to D.C. for the summer and suggested we do some runs together. Below is a good indicator of why that will be very bad for me! Myself, Garen, Shana and Pamela made our way to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, for an evening shindig hosted by Allyson Davis and Ken Massey. The event, held at Alfa Restaurant and Bar, in Center City, brought in several hundred dollars for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To reach that goal, we've relied on the support of online donors and fundraising events across the country, most recently in Portland, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. On June 1st, Mara Abrams hosted a Team Cuttler happy hour at Los Angeles landmark the Dresden Lounge. This was the theme of Team Cuttler's blowout party at Russia House on Thursday, May 31st. Hosted by Kristin White, Adam Barr and Vanessa Harbin, the Russia House party put an exclamation point on a very successful campaign for Team Cuttler. It definitely felt like the Team Cuttler traveling road show, as my cousin, David, now working in the Bay Area for the summer, was also in attendance; just as he had been at the fundraiser in NYC. But better late than never. I know how limited everyone's time is, thus The Weekly Cut Out serves as the solution to not being able to read everything (though I know you want to!). On those nights, mom put together easy meals, like nachos and mac and cheese, placed it on the table and ran off, leaving us to serve and clean. Who knew that I would grow up to be just like that. Today, May 12th, is my dad's birthday. Some also know him as "Mr. dad," bike mechanic extraordinare and, at sixty-nine years old, still climbing Tunnel Road to the top of the Oakland Hills.
