I want to setup my appointment for Senior Portraits with Juliet Photography! What do I need to do?

Call and we will setup your appointment time: 704-243-3226. Your session fee will be accepted by Visa or MasterCard to finalize your appointment, or you may send us a check to hold your date and time.

We will also schedule you a second appointment to preview your images and place your order. Make sure for this appointment, you are prepared to make decisions!

Viewing

It's best if just the primary decision makers return for the preview appointment, as too many opinions and voices can stress the situation. Keep in mind we do not offer paper proofs. You will view your images onscreen. You will choose from 10-50 images (depending on the session you selected). How many images or poses you actually order depends on what you purchase. Juliet Photography's package collections have 2-5 poses; for our senior signature album you may select as many images as you would like for the book. This is one of our most popular items! Make sure to look over the price list so you can be familiar with these items.

Crazy Myths about Senior Portraits!

--I HAVE to use the school's yearbook photographer - WRONG! The school may suggest that you be photographed by their recommended photographer, but all you have to do is have a yearbook head shot done by them. So go ahead, have a headshot done with the photographer the school says they have to use, but don't purchase anything if you are not happy with the pictures. You are not required to make a purchase from the yearbook photographer. It is your money, you can choose where you want to take your son or daughter for "real" senior portraits. Have your real senior portraits done where ever you want to. It’s your choice!

--Senior portraits are SO expensive - NOT TRUE. Although many of our clients love their images and will spend a lot on them, not every client does. You may choose to spend as little as $100 from our create-a-package pricing, or save a lot of money by choosing our all inclusive collections. The choice is yours… you have lots of options

--My relative/friend can take my senior portraits, they have just as good a camera - OK, but let us assure you that it takes so much more than just owning a camera to be a photographer. Our photographers have had years of training and have won tons of awards. Not to mention haven worked for top agencies, catalogs and magazines. We know all about the many ways to use proper lighting and posing techniques. We know exactly how to make you look your best. Plus, we utilize the latest applications in retouching and special effects by our top graphic artists! We will make you look like a model!

We make everyone look good…that's our job! We even offer optional, free make-up service for the girls. All you need to do is be your best. Get lots of rest and make sure your hair looks great! And be ready to have some fun!

Sessions

Dual Star: $50 ($25 towards print order). You get 2 outfits and a 30 min. session inside OR outside.

Four star: $100 ($50 towards print order). You get 4 outfits and a 1 hr. session inside AND outside.

Wish upon a Star: $150 ($75 towards print order). With up to 6 outfits, you can include a friend or a pet in this 1.5 hour session that includes both inside & outside.

Rock Star: $250 ($125 towards print order). Our Wish Upon a Star package PLUS a location shoot in uptown Charlotte or historic Downtown Waxhaw. The sky’s the limit!

Of all the things you should be aware of, Copyright infringement is a VERY serious offense. It is illegal and can be brought before the courts. You MUST obtain a photographer's permission before using any of their images, even for something as simple as a newspaper announcement. Most photographers require a small fee for the copyright to an image, but it depends on the circumstance; and most photographers are willing to email an image to the newspaper for you.

What do I do with my dress...

If you plan to save your dress, make sure you have it properly cleaned and preserved. You could have spilled something on it at the wedding without even realizing it; and we all sweat, especially on a long day that ends with dancing. Here's something to consider in the future, why not have a christening/baptism gown made for your children from the material of your wedding gown? It's special and sentimental.

As you know, there are always hot new ideas infiltrating the wedding scene. We think that these are some of the most trendy reception ideas and, of course, they're great for photographing!! The cake of cupcakes or doughnuts would be great for a wedding on a budget.

Candy stations are a great way to 'treat' your guests. And you can be very creative with what you serve. Try filling several containers with individul M&M colors (that coordinate with the colors of your wedding, of course!). Or, have a variety of chocolate (ie Rolos, Raisenetts, Malt balls and Tootsie Rolls). You could go with a color scheme, like red: include Hot Tomales, Fire Balls, Cinnamon Discs, Red Hot Hearts, and boxes of strawberry Nerds. You could also try this with your favorite cookies!! On the table with the candies, you should have candy bags so that your guests can scoop their candy and take it with them.

These are a great idea for outdoor weddings, especially during the warmer months. Decorate a metal bucket, fill it with ice, and your guests have a refreshing drink to ward off the heat. These are great, too, because you can customize the lables.

We LOVE this vintage twist to a modern dress. The dress is strapless, so our bride found a lace mini jacket to wear during the ceremony and was able to remove it for the reception.

Going Green

There is more to 'environmentally friendly' than recycling your Coke cans. Your wedding day can also be green: that is, helpful to the world around us. In their January/March issue, Carolina Bride magazine laid out several ideas for incorporating environmentally sound ideas into the wedding day. Here are some shared ideas until you pick up a copy:

1-To minimize waste, determine with your caterer how much food you will really need and check into composting programs to handle what is left over

2-Look for dresses made from hemp/silk or cotton made from pesticide-free, naturally bleached or vegetable-dyed fibers. There are post-wedding eco. ideas for your dress as well.

3-Register green: One company, GreenSage.com, has been online for four years and you can find hundreds of sustainable items for your home from beautiful recycled glass to organic bedding and furniture

4-Throw flower petals instead of confetti or bubbles

5-Choose smaller invitations and enclose RSVP postcards that require no envelopes.

6-Create a wedding Web site with directions, maps and other info. to cut down on the amount of paper used

Juliet Photography covered the beautiful wedding between Kate Wessell and Brian Peeler (from Bravo's reality series 'Workout') in May of 2007. They were married in the chapel at Catawba College, with a special dedication to Brian's friend, Doug Blasdell, who had passed earlier in the year. The reception followed at the Salisbury Train Depot, in Salisbury, North Carolina.
