I've been busy revamping the way both Allegory Concepts and Inklination Magazine will work from the inside out. Now, I'm still working on the overhaul and the websites and additional links and so forth will be updating in roughly a week or two. Most importantly, we've been using the Ink's Blog as our main hub which will be changing. Instead ALL of our links will move the the Allegory Concept Blog. We will be using that site as the main hub of our operations.

Also, we will be hosting three events, all mainly small but they are for networking! Not only for us both for the other independent people/gig entrepreneurs and small businesses of Casper/Wyoming. We plan on hosting the first for friends and other associates. The second will be for small business' that we think will be interested in our new structure and goals. An finally our last get together will be larger than the first two with a mix of both groups so that everyone can meet. Our reason is that Our Company will be shifting to a different format once the new bits of paperwork are completed.

Some people have heard me say that A.C. would be a non-profit if I had both the money and a lawyer in my "back pocket", unfortunately I do not. Which, I think, may have been a good thing. My reason being, I never created A.C. for profit, I created it because I saw a gap in Casper and have hoping to fill it. Doing my best to re-think things given our current economy or lack there-of I've worked on expanding and defining my original idea. So many others have tried to connect Casper through networking. They've failed mainly because they only see one aspect of it or from not enough points of view. I am learning business as I go and from my perspective multiple heads and various experiences make for fewer potholes. Given, Casper needs jobs, we need business, we need to involve ourselves more within our own community and help each other to stand tall on our own two feet. I think the changes A.C. will be undergoing will be a step in the right direction.

In all, stay tuned and see how we grow and please, become a part of it. I have a great deal of work that still needs to be done and perfected before any of it can be put into play but, as always we'd love your thoughts and opinions. In fact we hope to be searching out a few of you shortly and ask your expertise on a few things! So, again, stay tuned and we hope to not disappoint.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 100px; height: 100px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_oY3vkfV2nWI/Sl0HXHnKuXI/AAAAAAAAAH4/-kh7rTUIiTg/s200/Lynn.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358447225402472818" />-Lynn

Lack of Action

I've been otherwise occupied for quite a while now. I've allowed the magazine to slip but in favor of personal reason's. I've been fretting about taking care of my mother for the last three month's or so. I hope to get back to work on everything soon but with my computer being acting out more than my kids I'm not too sure when that's going to happen :/ I guess something other than my serious lack of cash an next to nil energy level will have to have more done to it than I have happening now. *Laughs* I've been doing more youth volunteer work but I have to do something to keep my spirits. I mean, my kids help but when I have time (not that it's much) I try to give back.

At this point Inklinations/Allegory Concepts has no cash flow an since my idea is relatively new there isn't very much raw data to use for my business plan. Heh, an a lack of data and an overall clear view of how the world at large will receive us with our 'declining' economy really doesn't strike inspiration into ones heart. *Sighs* The funny thing is that we don't need much but when you need even a little, what you don't have seriously counts. An to be honest, I just don't have any more of my own money to throw at this. Other duties call, you know. I do have some numbers I can call but I feel un-inclined to both people with 'our' issues. Heh, I've worked countless hours on this project but there is only so much one person can do! *Laughs*

For those who have any questions or to voice your disappointment, please feel free. I'm the only one of the crew that maintains any and all of our stuff so it will get to the right person *Grins* Otherwise I'd suggest you check out Bedlam Publishing, the boy's there have been on a roll ^_^

-Lynn

Yeah, we're back . . . finally!

For those of you who may know me personally, you may or may not know about my mother's circumstances. Well, those circumstances popped up its ugly head and we had a bit of a scare. So, until the end I'll be taking care of her and that has put quite a bit of strain on both my time and emotional output. Luckily though, I'm a fairly tenacious individual and I hope to slowly work back into where we were an move from a slow walk to a quick jog. As figurative as that is, I hope you will all have just a bit of patients with me since I somewhat dropped off the map. Still here though!

Also, last Monday I attended a seminar that was being held at the Natrona County Public Library that was for entrepreneurs or just people just looking for the right way to go about gaining funding (which we are!). The seminar was great! It was very informative, most things did not apply to us but it was all very enlightening none the less! I met a couple of very knowledgeable people who I hope to get back in touch with since they are excellent references and also excited about the Ink!

All in all we will keep toiling away.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 100px; height: 100px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_EuW-CBjVr_s/SffbMaBpXqI/AAAAAAAAAYE/ukpV4OfKNsw/s200/Lynn.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329969690207411874" /> -Lynn

We're Official!

I thought I would let everyone know that as of the beginning of the week our Allegory Concepts, Incorporated is legitly certified! A real issue will have actual English!)

We are currently working on our press release. Our mighty word master, Sam, was on a week's vacation, so at this point, I only have the outline done. He will fill it in and make it sound fantastic! So, give us a bit, and we will also be e-mailing some individuals as well as working on our other endeavors for public awareness and participation.

Also, this is a sub-note, but along with Inklination Magazine, we also have Allegory Concepts, which is our attempt to have a varying array of artists and others available to work for you. Allegory is not an advertising firm, it is just for those who are looking for reliable musician's, graphic designers, photographers, and writers to work on something specific. We will be putting up another blog of sorts for them and helping to get their names and work out there. There is no time frame on this; it is more a few steps behind the mag in terms of a finished product. Any questions or comments please e-mail us at allegoryconcepts@gmail.com!

-Lynn

Getting Our Ducks in a Row

At this point, we are ironing out the details and getting things moving. One thing to be happy about is the delightful people over at the Wyoming Art's Council have added our blog's link to their site. So, we are slowly starting the web networking.

Currently, there is no date set for samples to be released. We have selected a printing company that prints in Wyoming. We are only printing four samples since we hope to get the first issue out in March. I am aware of a few people that want me to drop off samples, and since we are only having a few made we will have to come to you and let you look through them. We are hoping to see those that are interested in meeting us to help connect more.

For those who are wondering, at this point we are still undecided as to whether or not we want to charge for the magazine. Relying on advertisers to print, having more ads and a free magazine vs. charging a few bucks per issue, having less ads and dealing with merchants still has us in a bit of a pickle. If you have any thoughts on this, we would love to hear them.

I will be posting quite a bit until the first issue comes out. I have added a score of text pertaining to what we will accept as far as submissions and how to submit them. Other bits and a line-up of what we are looking at for our first magazine is on the way, if you are not already sending us stuff!

-Lynn

End of January Update

After being disgustingly sick for over a week, I came to the conclusion that the previous version of this blog was not posted in a useful place. Not only that, but I had some changes to make to it and the title that I did not do in the beginning since I was already sick by that point.

So, here is the newer version. I have not put that much time into this yet since I am working on some other projects, namely getting the Allegory Concepts, Inc. / Inklination Magazine Incorporation up and going. So, if I have missed someone or am forgetting something, please let me know. I would hate to forget anything.

Thus far, only I have posted with Sam re-working my first post. The guys have also been busy, but since no one has thrown any questions or ideas their way, they are happy to remain quiet. Me, I am up for dodge ball anytime.

The week of February 12th, I hope to have some hard copies of the sample INKlination Magazine. This is not a guarantee since it really depends on the printers and getting my hands on tabloid size transparent vellum paper. For that to happen, I have to scour the internet and some places in town. After that, people who would like to see a sample are more than welcome to. I will also be putting out submission forms and working myself up to giving presentations for possible advertisers and supporters. Suggestions, as always, are more than welcome and appreciated. Just e-mail me at inklinationsmagazine@gmail.com anytime.

-Lynn

Mission Goals

Being that this is the first posting, I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Lynn Anderson, a freelance multimedia designer. Yeah, not all that fancy, but I love what I do. About six months ago, I had a brilliant idea and decided to drag some of my friends along for the ride. That blindingly bright idea was something that we here in Wyoming desperately need - a network.

The network I speak of is a network to push creativity out of our heads and into the public. For us, we started this project out of a sheer love for writing, music, and the arts. Now, change that into something workable, and a magazine magically appears. Most magazines are created for one reason or another. We hope that our enthusiasm is enough reason and can affect everyone who picks up one of our magazines. Through our toil, we hope that we can have positive thinking and input from everyone we come into contact with. We did not start this project to make money. We all have regular jobs. But, it is our hunger for creativity that drives us beyond the daily grind.

So, if you feel so inclined, please help support us by sending in submissions and spreading the word that this is not something that is only one style or inclination but a variety of almost anything and everything we can get our grubby little hands on. Again, channeled creativity is powerful. We look to be able to use the power your provide, provided that it is powerful. For those who submit work to Inklinations, we hope to help connect you with people who may publish or are looking for your style of work. The open door is for getting your work out there and securing connections right away to the right people.

We love this , otherwise we would not get off our butts and do this. We hope to get the first issue out in the next few months. Connections are what we know everyone wants and need.

-Lynn

This was originally posted on January 19th, 2009 on myselfvsart.blogspot.com.
