When Jabba the Hutt's son is taken by a group of renegades, two Jedi are summoned to investigate. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi depart in search of answers: where is the Hutt's son, and who is controlling this mysterious renegade group? Yoda sends Ahsoka Tano along as Anakin's apprentice, Obi-Wan duels Asajj Ventress, and Anakin finds himself dueling Count Dooku once more. Meanwhile, the Sith plan to instigate a three-way war, including the Hutts. http://www.imdb.com

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Other Reviews:

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Ebert & Roeper: Not yet http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/ebertandroeper/
Fandango: 120 Oh No, 76 No, 212 So-So, 328 Go, 281 Must Go http://www.fandango.com
Rotten Tomatoes: T-Meter: 18% (Rotten), Top Critics: 5% (Rotten), RT Community: 54% (Rotten) http://www.rottentomatoes.com
Metacritic: Critics: 35 out of 100, Users: 5.1 out of 10 http://www.metacritic.com
Yahoo Movies: Critics: C- Users: B- http://movies.yahoo.com

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">My Review: I put this film into the Expanded Universe (EU) category, I am not a 100% sure of Lucas dose or not but, I do. I only canonize the six film (the nine original planed films and stories), and the things directly connected to the films and filmmaking process like the screenplays, notes, the novelizations, the deleted scenes, the added special edition scenes, the DVD extras, Like Lucas said, "The movies are Gospel, and everything else is Gossip". Yes this is a film but it was more or less an hour and half television pilot set on the big screen. The main point of this movie was to kick off/ continue the animated series on Cartoon Network. As for if it was good or not, it ranks with those awesome So-So films we have been getting as of late. Films that have many flaws but some how keep you entertained. This has a lot of the classic things that make it a Star Wars film missing. The music was butchered; it wasn’t classic John William, it was John William notes thrown into a blender. The classic Star Wars craw that sets up the story was replaced by a narration resembling a “fake news cast” One thing that was added that made it less of a Star Wars film was the new character named Ahsoka Tano. She is Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan learner. What makes here character bad is her annoyingness. One: attitude, she is the mixture of the younger version of Anakin Skywalker (reckless) plus a prom queen/princess/I gets what I want/daddy’s little girl: the stereotypically blond prom queen in every teen comedy. Two: nickname/pet name, she had a nickname/pet name for every one. Here are the nickname/pet names: Skywalker= Sky Guy, R2= Artooey, the baby Hutt = Stinky. I hate that Skywalker also t uses nickname/pet name he calls Ahsoka Snips, he also referees to the baby Hutt as Stinky. Beside these major flaws the film is entertaining and has amazing colors and action. The Great action comes from the clone battling the droid army and the two Jedi-Sith battles (which every Star Wars movie should have.). I agree with who ever first stated that Star Wars has the same color quality as Speed Racer. Speed Racer had vibrant, bold and flashy colors while Star Wars had vibrant, suddle, and beautiful colors. I am not saying that Speed Racer wasn’t beautiful I am saying it was more in your face were Star Wars utilize that same color techniques but made it more appealing. Both had a very beautiful color pallet but I enjoyed Star Wars more. If this opened as a two hour pilot episode I would give it higher marks but since it is a movie, and the fact that it is competing with its predecessors, it is only an awesome So-So film.

<span style=";font-family:";" >

Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-7396629606239219302008-08-15T03:45:00.002-04:002008-08-15T04:28:05.292-04:00Movie Studio Websites
The Big Six:

<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: rgb(0, 112, 192);">Walt Disney
20th Century Fox
Paramount Motion Pictures Group
<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: rgb(0, 32, 96);">Sony Pictures
Warner Bros. I know the point of the movie was to make fun of action movies, war movies and the movie business in general but it had some cool explosions. I might add funny explosions. This movie was entertaining while at the same time “action packed” especially the end. Even with a full cast of comedian actors the funniest character in the movie is Robert Downey Jr’s character. Right now there are three “big” comedies out Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, and Tropic Thunder; out of those three I would recommend Tropic Thunder. I also like the cameos, not over used and equally as fun as the principal cast. This movie is a good one and one of the better comedies of this summer. Don’t get me wrong I went to go see it for the eye candy. But as I left the theater I was saying to my self that it would have been a better movie if I had a girlfriend to enjoy it with. If a chick flick can or almost make a guy (who’s not gay) cry then in my opinion it is a very good chick flick. The same goes for “dick flicks” or guy films you know the testosterone driven movies. If a girl (who’s not butch) is like “kick ass” then it is a very good guy film. I am just say a single guy can watch a chick flick and enjoy it and if they want to call me gay go ahead because I know I am not. Hey chicks adore the sensitive guy. I say see it but bring your significant other it will make the experience better.
Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-73183763985510779812008-08-09T04:09:00.000-04:002008-08-09T04:10:46.347-04:00Review: Mamma Mia
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Synopsis: 20 year old Sophie (Seyfried) is preparing to marry her boyfriend Sky (Cooper) at her mother's hotel on an island in Greece. She seemingly has it all -- a carefree life, a loving fiancé, and happy friends -- but one thing has been missing all her life: a father. Her only wish now is to be given away by her dad at her wedding. By reading her mother's diary she discovers that she has three possible fathers. Sophie then secretly invites all three men to the wedding in a desperate bid to discover which of them her father is before the wedding bells start to chime! But not all goes according to plan: old loves are re-kindled, new loves are formed, and Sophie risks everything to discover the true identity of her father. Featuring the songs of ABBA, and based on the world's number one musical comedy which has people dancing in the aisles every night, this movie is sure to be the hit of summer 2008! http://www.imdb.com

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Other Reviews:

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Ebert & Roeper: Phillips (Skip It) Roeper (See It) http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/ebertandroeper/
Fandango: 365 Oh No, 188 No, 510 So-So, 1418 Go, 3236 Must Go http://www.fandango.com
Rotten Tomatoes: T-Meter: 54% (Rotten), Top Critics: 41% (Rotten), RT Community: 74% (Fresh) http://www.rottentomatoes.com
Metacritic: Critics: 51 out of 100, Users: 7.6 out of 10 http://www.metacritic.com
Yahoo Movies: Critics: B- Users: A- http://movies.yahoo.com<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-weight: normal;">

<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-weight: normal;">My Review: I have seen better musicals in my opinion. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service. Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have lain forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents. As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O'Connells can stop him first.http://www.imdb.com

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Other Reviews:

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Ebert & Roeper: Phillips (Skip It) Roeper (Skip It) http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/ebertandroeper/
Fandango: 250 Oh No, 210 No, 685 So-So, 896 Go, 787 Must Go http://www.fandango.com
Rotten Tomatoes: T-Meter: 12% (Rotten), Top Critics: 10% (Rotten), RT Community: 36% (Rotten) http://www.rottentomatoes.com
Metacritic: Critics: 31 out of 100, Users: 4.4 out of 10 http://www.metacritic.com
Yahoo Movies: Critics: C- Users: B- http://movies.yahoo.com<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-weight: normal;">

<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-weight: normal;">My Review: At first site of the trailer I was like “another Mummy really” I very much so a skeptic when came to a third mummy movie. I saw that Jet Li was going to be in the movie, that raised my hopes for the movie. I like the concept of him having power over the five elements. But when I saw Rachel Weisz wasn’t going to be in the film my hopes where brought down again. The new girl sucked compared to Weisz. The best part of the film for me was the opening scenes with Jet Li that told the back story of his character. The rest of the film was way to cheese and lame. I am not saying it was all bad just mostly. This was just a disappointment to the other two films, three if you want to count The Scorpion King side note: (The Scorpion King 2 : Rise of a Warrior looks like it’s going to suck also. What can you get out of a direct to DVD movie) any who, The Mummy 3 not a must see but you might want to see it if that’s the case save your money and rent it later.

Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-52316271152947413252008-08-07T02:37:00.005-04:002008-08-07T03:50:17.228-04:00Signs That An Up Coming Movie Is Going To Tank: Mainly Those Pertaining To Sequels
These aren't in any particular order:

1. A re-casting or change in principal cast.

This isn't always the case but most of the time one of the original cast members read the scrip to the sequel and turns it down because it looks "stupid" or "Not as fresh as the original story". The other reason actors don’t do sequels is the shooting confects from there other movies.

2. Release dates get push back because of the production.

What usually happens is the producer see a problem with production or the story and "has to rethink the film" and pushes back the release date. Sometime this isn't all of a bad idea: the film may have a stiff compensation with another film and is waiting until the other film runs out of steam before releasing.

3. Direct to DVD

This is a sure sign that a film is going to be a bad one. This is the Producer seeing the film not having any major profits at the box office. He/She may see the film having a chance to have a slight profit in DVD sales. I see time and time again movies go to the big screen and tanking right of the bat, then a week later it is pull from theaters. Shortly after that the movie ends up on the slaves of Wal-Mart usually a month or so later. Here is example of a fake movie title that would get a Direct to DVD release (Bring It On 10: Don't Drop The Spirit Stick).

4. When major crew member is replaced or fried.

If a writer has to come and re-write almost the entire film after more than half of the film is shoot, that’s a disaster waiting to happen. If your direct is fired in post production and your film is giving to a second or even a third party editing team to fix, this is also a disaster waiting to happen. If an actor quits in the middle of production claiming: "this isn't what I sign on for.", disaster waiting to happen (just read point one).

5. When concepts rain over story.

When a filmmaker makes a movie based on a concept and has no real story to back him/her up, in doing so they bring to the table a “in it for the money” attitude. No should take a concept and run with it to the bank, especially a movie. I hate filmmakers who have this thought progress: "It will make us great money...lets get that movie out there as fast as possible...If you play it they will come...money." No more of these good primuses but bad execution movies.

If you want to add or commit on what I have already written or give more signs that an up coming movie is going to tank; mainly those pertaining to sequels go ahead and do so, I am open to all who have an opinion.
Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-83019403459628946642008-08-03T03:26:00.001-04:002008-08-03T03:32:38.382-04:00Number Ones for September: Trailers
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Number Ones for September: Trailers
National: Eagle Eye
Indies: The Duchess
Comedy: Burn After Reading
Family: Igor

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Thank You http://www.videodetective.com for the trialers
Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-420057254828302772008-08-03T03:14:00.001-04:002008-08-03T03:21:57.839-04:00HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE
Want to watch HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE trailer well here are many links to the clip:

Video Detective

YouTube

The Trailer Site

The Movie Blog
Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-14965101947998773212008-08-03T02:36:00.001-04:002008-08-03T02:58:23.819-04:00IMAX: The Dark Knight
Six scenes from The Dark Knight were filmed with IMAX camera. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). The Dark Knight wants to finally get rid of organized crime for good and be free of their corruption. Batman soon finds that a new psychopathic mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger) has taken over organized crime. After the fall of Carmine Falcone, the remaining crime bosses try to pick up the pieces. However, the Joker is killing them off one by one. The Joker's plan is to terrify the citizens and throw the city into chaos, and then kill Batman. Batman takes the fight with the Joker personal, which makes him confront his own beliefs. The Joker is the most dangerous criminal that Batman has encountered, and he will need all his strength and vigilance to defeat him. http://www.imdb.com

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Other Reviews:

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Ebert & Roeper: Two Thumbs Up http://kplusb.org/ebertroeper/
Fandango: 210 Oh No, 183 No, 753 So-So, 2901 Go, 32799 Must Go http://www.fandango.com
Rotten Tomatoes: T-Meter: 94% (Fresh), Top Critics: 90% (Fresh), RT Community: 93% (Fresh) http://www.rottentomatoes.com
Metacritic: Critics: 82 out of 100, Users: 9.2 out of 10 http://www.metacritic.com
Yahoo Movies: Critics: A- Users: A http://movies.yahoo.com

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">My Review: As I was off build in house for Christ (Casas Por Christo) I fell behind in my movie reviewing and blogging. So this is for those who haven’t seen The Dark Knight yet, go see it as soon as possible. I mean it worth both the time and the money. Yes it is a two and a half hour movie but it is worth it. It has set the bar for comic book/ superhero movies. It is better than Iron Man but D.C. Comics seem to rain supreme in that department. I mean who is the top five superheroes people name off the top off their heads? Most of the time the top five will be heroes from D.C. Comics, with one exception, and that is Spiderman. But I think Marvel Comics have better storylines that translate into film. That’s why I personally lean toward Iron Man when comes to which film was better (can’t forget about Marvel’s master plan the lead to the Avengers movie in 2011) But the Dark Knight gives you more bang for your buck: Oscar worthy performance from Heath Ledger. The other performers didn’t do that bad either. You can’t go wrong with Aaron Eckhart or Gary Oldman. Very Good, A Winner, Awesome, Amazing.
Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-12086454687327543242008-07-29T01:54:00.001-04:002008-07-29T01:55:45.712-04:00None Movie Related Topic: My Ideal Wife
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";"> These are my five stipulations I have for my ideal wife.

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">I.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;"> <span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">CHRISTIAN

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">a.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;"> <span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5: 22-33

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">b.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;"> <span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The Dark Knight ???
I lied just a little bit about The Dark Knight. I am leaving for Mexico Saturday night Sunday morning (3am). So I will most likely pay to watch it tomorrow. (Normally I don’t have to pay because I am a employee at my local theater but sometimes employee pass are restricted, meaning I can’t watch it for free. Restricted employee pass are usually Sony film for the first three week and blockbuster film for the opening week end.) So I either watch it twice: once for $6.50 not in IMAX and then again in IMAX after my mission trip to Mexico, OR I wait until after my mission trip to Mexico and watch it once or more than once for free at IMAX or regularly at my local theater. Knowing my self I will most likely go with option one and watch it twice. If that is the case and I do watch it twice you won’t see my review it until I watch it IMAX verson. This way I can kind of compare and contrast the movie in the two different formats. What I will do is give my initial reaction to the film giving it either: Recommend It (Very Good, Good, So-So) or Not Recommend It (So-So, Bad, Very Bad). Until next time God bless and happy times at the movies.
Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-55769723422365082202008-07-15T19:43:00.002-04:002008-07-15T19:52:34.440-04:00Mission TripSorry movie fans but I will be out of town this coming week on a mission trip to Mexico. I will review The Dark Knight as so as see it when I return. I will be watching it at a IMAX theater to get the full experience. As you can see Ebert and Roeper has revealed their review. I will also be watching Mamma Mia as well so for you less Batman fans. I will try to update this blog as much as possible until I leave, but if I don't post between now and the time I get back I leave you with this: God bless and happy times at the movies.Nerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-31500748714742302152008-07-15T19:35:00.003-04:002008-07-15T19:43:23.155-04:00Ebert and Roeper ReviewsHellboy 2: Two Thumbs Up
Journey to Center of the Earth: Two Thumbs Up
Meet Dave: Two Thumbs Down

The Dark Knight: Two Thumbs UpNerrohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02855045175980725983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4372325769139826884.post-34431858192383573832008-07-15T04:38:00.003-04:002008-07-15T05:09:57.411-04:00My Favorite Filmmakers
<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Wes Anderson, Tim Burton, Guillermo del Toro, David Fincher, Ron Howard, Peter Jackson, George Lucas, Frank Miller, Christopher Nolan, Jason Reitman, Robert Rodríguez, M.
