That is, their focus is to teach their kids to verbally communicate what's bothering them. That way, they're telling the kids that it's OK to be angry, and it's OK to express anger; no need to hide or deny it. The only thing to control is <I>how</I> to express it. If the parents guide the kids towards how to communicate, the kids will learn for themselves that clearly explaining why you're angry gets better results than acting-out violently.
