WOW! This is a GREAT problem to have! However with this many students we need additional volunteers to help! If you are an instructor, id, or a student with the time and willingness to help, please let Master Lisa know or send an email to Miss Kris.

Kris Bateshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161924337060490732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323384788016156836.post-51546208948552867692008-04-02T07:32:00.002-05:002008-04-02T07:43:52.749-05:00SNAP Promotion PoliciesThe SNAP Self Defense program was designed to help students with physical and developmental challenges learn skills to help them lead a more productive life outside of the classroom. By partnering with RK Martial Sciences & Fitness and teaching basic martial arts skills, we also
teach basic life skills.

In order to be promoted, we ask for 2 measurements of accountability:

That each student attends at least 10 of 12 possible classes offered during the quarter (IF promotion is the student’s goal).

That each student simply TRIES.

With those two measurements in mind, each and every student should understand and therefore expect they will be promoted IF they meet both measurements.

To accomplish this goal we need help from our students’ parents and caretakers. We need them to understand and help the students meet their goals by reinforcing regular participation in this program. In doing so the student gains an understanding of expectations outside of the classroom in the world of employment and daily living.

We understand many of our SNAP students have health issues AND/OR transportation issues sometimes preventing them from being in class. If a student is unable to attend the required 10 classes in a quarter what we can do, with prior arrangements, is promote that person based on a cumulative total of 2 quarters.

Our instructing staff members make it a priority to be available to volunteer their time in helping with the SNAP program. We hope the students and parents will too! Our students are very special people and our SNAP students even more so for they overcome so many obstacles each and every day. Learning a martial art is hard, but they persevere and show many of us how challenges can be overcome everyday!

Master Lisa and I look forward to the new quarter and I hope each of the students and their care-givers will make this program a priority. Please contact Master Lisa Brennan or myself if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Kris Bates, Co-Owner
RK Martial Sciences & Fitness
817.590.8585 (School)

Richard Pérezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09155537738326451166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323384788016156836.post-10890782931266950632008-03-24T14:29:00.002-05:002008-03-24T14:33:46.672-05:00SNAP GraduationSNAP graduation is this Wednesday (March 26th) at 5pm.
