We make bandanas, mini-posters, lip balm, stickers and other inexpensive handmade items and give them away. People are just more enthusiastic when you give them something handmade and useful. Even magnets and buttons can be put to use making them better than a business card that will probably end up at the bottom of someones junk drawer.
