No peeking Brit! Go away!So... here it is - Addison's blankieokay, it's nowhere near done yet but i'm happy with the speed at which it's knitting up.for as little time as i've put into it, i feel i have made a lot of progress. The item that has consumed so much of my being that I couldn't even blog. I finally finished this silly thing! It actually didn't take as long as I expected it to. And thank goodness cause it didn't turn out just as I wanted it. But it was a great lesson learned. And they are: 1) use bigger needles to avoid the puckering 2) use cotton I think these two things will make SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-3493509167841940282008-01-12T17:24:00.000-06:002008-01-12T17:30:38.489-06:00Not much time at the moment but I just had to tell you.... I cast on the hemlock ring blanket last night. And I LOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!! This blanket is everything everyone has said it would be. Never have I enjoyed knitting a blanket so much. It's like a good book you just can't put down. Every round leaves you yearning for the next. I'm hoping to post some pics tonight of my work so farSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-35192769041301068362008-01-09T07:44:00.000-06:002008-01-09T08:41:48.975-06:00Hihi! It's a very pleasant allbeit chilly morning here in St. Louis today. The air turned a bit last night and we all woke up shivering. So 'on' goes the heat. It would be so nice to use this fireplace. Ugh, we really need to have it checked. I know the thing hasn't been used in years and it was one of the perks to buying this house! lol And after 4 years we still haven't gotten around to having SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-12948786387804017042008-01-01T07:51:00.000-06:002008-01-01T08:47:03.630-06:00Happy new year! I'm convinced this year will be better than the last. After deciding that resolutions is waaaaay to responsible of a word for me, I thought I'd share with you my 'to do' list for 2008.... see how much less threatening that sounds?okay, here we go1. Don't have more than ten projects on needles at any given time. Seeing as how I'm too lazy to even thread stitches through waste SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-39296649192939029682007-12-28T17:46:00.000-06:002007-12-28T17:59:08.135-06:00Well I have finally finished all the teddy bear peices. Now he just has to be stuffed and sewn. I think I'll set it aside again for now and work on Mr. Sheepy's tootsies. I bought the yarn I needed a week ago. Just need to sit down and do it. Other good news, I got my ravelry invite this week.... Yay! I've been obsessively sorting, documenting and organizing. I'm hoping this will help SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-45898988153254644552007-12-20T11:56:00.000-06:002007-12-20T12:04:35.246-06:00yeah yeah, i promised pictures.... better late than never, right? : )both of these projects are mystery yarns. not sure where they came from or what they're made of. the teddy is clearly a synthetic cheap yarn. I remember making the cake but I have no clue why I even had the yarn. the sheepy... well, this could be a blend of some sort. not really sure. it has practically no twist at all. theSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-25054617516470043602007-12-19T02:42:00.000-06:002007-12-19T03:07:13.981-06:00four years is a very long time... you want to know what all i've been doing the past four years that's kept me away from my knitting blog - and knitting? in a nutshell i've been having kids. yep, pretty much. i've, since 2003, added 3 kids to my family. Two of whom left us much too soon. Israel and Imogen passed before their planned birth dates and within a year of each other. Immy has her SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-936513282003-05-02T09:23:00.000-05:002007-12-29T19:31:52.267-06:00Hey howdy hey! Got some great deals last weekend. Mum was up and we went shopping. There's this 'Clearance Center' on the edge of town that looks like Sanford and Son took over. It's really something I tell ya. Anyhoo, this place is filled from top to bottom with everything. These people go to estate sales and clean up! I mean anything and everything in this joint. Except of course SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-925632822003-04-13T23:37:00.000-05:002007-12-29T19:31:52.280-06:00"You have to slow down to eat buckwheat noodles." You gotta love those North Koreans. Well, atleast when they aren't trying to nuke you. So it's just been a really long time. I'm working on a few new things now. I've got a london beanie on the circs. I like the colors alot. I used the rusty wool and greenbean mystery yarn. The jogs are pretty bad though. I tried something different thisSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-913907472003-03-25T22:26:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.293-06:00Well, another day in the life . . . it's 10 p.m. and I'm blogging instead of frogging or knitting or any of the other million things I need to be doing. Do you ever just feel like not doing anything? Not even sleeping. I just don't feel like doing anything tonight. I think it's 'warlag'. (a new addition in my dictionary) Hopefully it'll pass soon. Of course it doesn't help that I read the SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-912282292003-03-23T10:32:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.303-06:00So does anyone not agree that 12 YEARS of diplomacy is trying?! I have to say that anyone opposing this war with Iraq doesn't understand the situation in Iraq or what is being done by our troops. You have to know that to a soldier if you don't support this war you don't support the soldiers. To a soldier there is no difference. What does this have to do with knitting or Hootie you ask? SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-902844162003-03-06T23:20:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.312-06:00Okay, I know! It's been awhile, but I do have a life thank you very much. Small and insignificant as it may be, it still takes up alot of my time. I got some knitting done while I was away though. A whole bag! It's here. I used the beads from a car seat cover for one of the handles. I say one of because it has interchangable handles. I'm pretty happy with it. Oh guess what! J sold one ofSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-890481542003-02-13T13:52:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.320-06:00You can see Zion and Abby in the zig zag set here.SaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-890353102003-02-13T09:22:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.327-06:00Are we ever gonna be healthy again?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is still sick. I slept in my bed last night for the first time this week. I tell ya, it's never-ending. But I did manage to finish the zig-zag set! *tails would wag . . .* It's so cute! I'll post a pic of it soon. The hat turned out great. I was so worried about the seaming. I actually got scared! But it came out pretty goodSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-886295792003-02-05T22:18:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.335-06:00So the kiddies are finally in bed, I'm showered, and the hubby is holding the baby. *sniff* And I'm still sick - but atleast I can type and knit! I'm almost finished with that glove. Working on the ribbed cuff. All that's left is the seaming. It turned out pretty good. Abs (my daughter - 2) loves the scarf. She's worn it all day. I think the gloves are gonna be more Zion-sized though. Um. Alot has happened. I just got back from Kentucky with two sick children. Mum had a heart attack so we visited. Three of us came back ill. That's why I sound funny in case you're wondering. I got most of the zig zag scarf completed while I was there and I just put the last ties on it this morning. I started on the matching mittens a couple of hours ago while I thumbed throughSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132362.post-878196902003-01-21T21:25:00.000-06:002007-12-29T19:31:52.357-06:00Hihi! This is the home of my rambling on about everything from needlework to predestination. Hope you can stand the excitement! Anyway, I plan on using this blog for journaling(?) my knitting/crochet projects, my poetry, and the infuriating cute stuff my kids do to show that they love me. I'm sure much more will creep in so just hang in there and the run-on sentence that goes on for miles andSaraJanehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11389704452389473290knittingprose@gmail.com0
