This is the Old Shale Shawl that was in Spin-Off magazine. I used some Frog Tree Alpaca from the stash. I have finished the Flower Basket shawl/scarf today and it is now blocking. I used a heavier weight yarn and size 10 needles. I did 6 repeats of the pattern for the scarf though it only called for 4. I think I would have run out of yarn if I tried to do a 7th. Kayla is now 1. She was born the first week in June according to the rescue I took her home from. This picture was taken in the middle of May. I still call them the kittens but they are both one now. This is the start of an Ulmus Shawl by Through the Loops. You alternate 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn. I am using a multi-color by The Painted Sheep and an Araucania Ranco Solid. It is a fun knit and I have yarn ready for another one. It is my work knitting for now until it gets too big.

A co-worker received these flowers on Administrative Professionals Day. They were the most beautiful flowers I have seen in a while. The colors were so vibrant, just gorgeous. I grabbed my camera and told her I just had to take pictures of her flowers. I have been slowly cleaning up my room (tons of yarn and patterns laying around) so that it can be painted. I found the bag of catnip mice and sewed and stuffed them this afternoon. I took a class yesterday through Yarns Down Under (Deep River, CT) in Essex, CT at the Hayden House at the Griswold Inn. The weather was a little interesting (sleet, some flurries, rain) on the way but was just rain on the way home. I left my house at 10 AM and arrived back home right around 5:30 or 6 PM. I picked my own colors except for the greens, they were in the original colorway. Fun
