Great transmission by Skype on15/09/09

At around 3.51pm. he suddenly appeared online in Skype. a few conversation and he ended up telling me he is very hungry. All my friends laughed commented that he looked very tired. Definitely Not enough sleep for him. His picture appear was very clear.

A Call on 16/09/09

Well, he finally bought a phone card and called us immediately at around 7.30am local time.
Very clear call and he talked normally now after a good rest. Eventually he has to on Skype and taking up his computer, he started showing his mum the room layout with his webcam. Good place that you are staying ,his mum told him.
As usually ,has you mop your room? (He normally cleaned our house when he returned on his semester break.) No, lah, the whole unit is fully carpeted and I have vacuumed my room .I told him that we have to stop now for we have to go to work. Take care and bye bye............ was his replied.

2nd Call 17/09/09

Well, he finally got the code to let us call him ..See ...see... who is getting excited or who has miss who.. .the mum get very excited and wanted to talk and I told her that talking over skype tonight could be better. AH YAH < airasia so cheap and fly over there any time. better still i go there and stay there and return with him next after he has completed his course. heee ....... don't talk .......... I want to watch my movie......off she goes to the hall and watch astro............install recently after both sons have graduated. .............

The IPhone

When it comes with communication especially when I AM ON THE GO, I could just log in with Nimbuzz and I could detect whether XY is online. 3G phone helps alot .I could see him regardless of which social networking software he is using, Skype, MSN, ICQ etc except Oovoo, maybe on the next upgrade version. Even without WiFi,
I could chat with him for a while. Good Eh!!! Well, i could chat with during my Tea break to keep within the company policy. Working hours off the social networking. but then I could contact my Tech staff on drawings matter without having to call them on the local line.....so convenient.

The Famous Barber from Tanjong Bungah

Yesterday , I got a shock when my old neighbour approached and told me that he has been searching high and low for us as he wants to invite us to his son wedding tonight. Luck for us he saw me during this lunch break.
We knew him since young. Immediately I called my wife and told her of this happy occasion andto cancel all event so that we could be there that night.
Many Years we knew him . Well maybe 45 years but definitely more for his uncle who attended this wedding could remember Boon, BS,BG , Ho and also he has went over to once of relative house, to see him.
I have taken a few shot with my Iphone and hopefully they will be preserved in our album as long as this blog could exist.
How famous is Gunalan. .....he has cropped the previous Chief Minster of Penang; Dr Koh and also the present CM P: Mr Lim and not to forget all the resident of Tanjong Bungah..

I ask my wife how well she knew his wife and she told me that our children always play with them whenever they went there to tidy their hair.. .
I could always remember his daughter for she speaks fluent Hokkien like her mum.

Question
After he has checked in, one of my relative turned to me and asked me whether I do feel sad.
I told her that for the last 3 weeks, I have been in XY 's room every night between 11.00pm to 1.00am, and chit chat with him. Sometime, one of his friend who was skyping with him would wish me over his webcam.. During this time ,I would tune my Iphone with his laptop making sure that I could see him when he is online over there.
He has no choice but to chase me out of his room by reminding me that I have to work tomorrow!! Ha Ha

Last few weeks back at home between 11.00pm to 1.00am

Do I feel sad??
Definitely, yes for we have been very closed. At time, he would call me 5 minutes before his lecture start. Some time, I have to remind him that I am in the middle of my consultant meeting!!!!!!

Calling both my sisters a few days ago, we decided to have a dinner near her house on 5/9/09 . Intended to be treat from me ended up we were treated by my eldest sister.

Each night without fail, I would pop into his room and ask this favorite question of mine,

None unless you have , he would reply.

In fact, I am the one that could not sleep for I will be missing him when he goes abroad. Me getting excited of you might said, High anxiety.
All this while, we have been very closed and seldom miss a call from him or me, when he studies in KL. At time, he would give us a call even before his class starts.
On one of my friends house warming, my friend wife asked him whether he call us from KL and he replied "Yes" most of the time and what topic you would talk to your dad and mum, He answered all topic or "gossip lah" hee ! hee! , he would laugh cheekingly.

Piano Lesson

One one weekend, Siew Woon drop by my house with her computer for updating the Anti virus software and also to skype with her cousin who is stay in Kelantan. Sitting about a 2 meter from her , I could hear the sound of the organ played by her cousin through skype . Well, she was listening tentatively at the notes she played and started to teach her .
Since my house hasn't got a piano, I decided to download an application that allowed her to play the Iphone like a piano. Beginning she could not play fast due to transfering to the next frame but eventually she started to play with it and her cousin was very surprised as to where she gets a piano so fast. Wow, great piano indeed

At the end , her cousin managed to understand where she did wrong by listening over at the other side . Her cousin asked her about the phone and she has to hold up the Iphone to proof that she was playing with it . All of us started to laugh and acknowledge the power of this small little gadget.

Calling Maxis, our local provider

With the launching of Iphone 3GS, I started to call our local provider asking them as to when they will be allowing us to trade in my 3G forthe new 3GS. On one Sunday, I called them again and suggested to them that they should give a discount to customer who wanted to trade in or buying another one . About a month after that conversation, Maxis finally come up with that Exclusive package for her customer.
Well, is this marketing strategic recommended by me? If yes, then I would say that Maxis should give me one free 3GS!!!!. Hee! Hee! As one of my friend told me, I should have written in and that could be the proof.

Sometime, while on the street , I was asked by curious on looker on whether the Iphone is that good. I told them depending on the type of usage or function that they experted from the phone. Some feels that when you holding an Iphone, you will feel Um thing.

On why I bought an Iphone?
It started on that day I went to the airport to fetch my brother and his family. When all of them were in the car, my brother took out his Iphone and start to read his messages. I began to asked him and he told me that it will change my life. To my surprised his son,Bill also took out his phone too. On the journey to the hotel, we started to chat on the usage of phone that I which to have, Just for information both his children studied IT from Harvard and their humble knowledge on phone gave me an in dept of the phone.Phone like blackberry were also discussed. By the time, we reached the hotel, I have already make up my mind to purchase one.
One fine day, my old phone started to give problem and there come along my son telling me that I should be getting a new one as a reward for myself. I finally signed up an Iphone plan.
Having a new phone is one thing but then to get it going and ensuring that I can enjoy the full system, I started exploring hoe to transfer and edit my own ring tone etc.
Bill Kang recommended several applications and the gadget started to get very interesting. For me I can never get be tired of it, Well,easy to get the latest news , Twitter news from Bill and my brother, chatting with my friends and niece in Singapore with Nimbuzz and even my son with SKype. and the best was to chat on company matters with my office staff without having to dail them. Finally, I have to purchase a car charger whenever I am on the move. A extra power charger to be placed in my office.
The most important is XY will be able to chat with me from UK when I am on the move. Recommended that he should get one in UK!!!! What is the price over there?
Save for my education first he would reply or unless his phone is spoilt.
Anyway he is not interested in Touch Screen type. Whenever in the car he will fiddle with it and "haya! haya!" would be trhe sound from his mouth.
One thing for sure , I have very minimum game in it.

Everyday, when arriving home , I would sit in the front of my computer screen and start searching info on Iphone. Finally got it under Macworld.. I have finally bought an Iphone and have to say that I am still learning all the functions from magazine like Mac life, Macworld and even Iphone Life. Well, all these back dated, imported magazines are a few months old for they are very costly if purchase new.

I would said that Iphone really change my life style. Before going further, what make me buy this portable computer or can I call smart phone.

First Look at the bad side

1 You cannot bluetooth to an other type of hand phone other than Iphone,
2 Forwarding phone number to a friends take longer step.
3 Battery will finish by approximately 5 hours if using 3G and longer for 2G.
4 The screen need to be clean regularly if not a dirty gadget!!
5 Speed is average but 3GS is better
6. Must always remember to shut it down once in a while and reboot it to avoid
applications that run without your knowledge. Could this lead to over heating and
draining of the battery?

The good side

1. Can surf the internet any time anywhere even without WiFi by using 3G
2. Many free and paid engineering applications
3. Pictures are sharp,big and up to my requirement
can upload to my blog without having to reduce the size
4. Big screen that help me for my eye sight is deteriorating
5. Lovely music and can transferred converted MP4 shows
6. Google map
7. Recording all my seminars

Field work : Visualising the real equipment.

Lectures started at 8.30 am and ended at 5.00pm for the first 2 days . Really tough for me who works in the site and cannot even sit still for an hour. Will a lot of yawning and regular break time for coffee with foods really helped on these 3 days. Other than these, regular discussions on topics that I do not understand with my colleagues really helped.

What type of speakers are good. Well, my opinion, lecturers that based their notes with field experience were the best. Laughter were heard and these really make everyone not falling asleep. But when it come with research lectures, it everyone got into "hibernation mode".
Regardless, their notes will be very useful when problem at site pop up.

The Passing Away of a dinosaur

Tribute to one of our King of Hokkien Singer: Mr Wong Ming Fatt

He would finish his work sharp at 5.30pm and then stopped by the road entrance and without fail handed over the banana, peanuts to the monkeys.
I would be late after lunch and for I have feed my mother.
I am not scare of the Devil and there is no such thing as God.
Alot more verses that he would repeat again and again and then final on 6/4/09. he passed away while carry out his duty as a backhoe operator.

Most of the staff would called him the King of Hokkien Song. Yesterday, while visiting his wake, my staff would recalled him singing in the Show unit without having thought who are beside him.
During company trip, he would always volunteer to sing his below Hokkien Song.
I came across this guy one day when all the staff called me over the walkie talkie that AH FATT have captured a cobra using his bear hand.

During the wake, his son leak some of the untold story of his career. He has been a Sailor, in the field force unit , tower crane operator until he was grounded after a stroke. a backhoe operator,
A Karoake singer and has many girl friends.
The most important career was a being fillial son, never miss rushing back to his house to feed his mum.
He could be called the king of wild animals. His son told me that he would capture lizard, biawak, and skin it in front them and not to miss snakes and final cooked for the whole family to eat. His famous words to his son. Any Creature That Has Their Back Facing The Sky Could Be Eaten. Last but not least,the character of a man working in the construction industry: Many girlfriends , drinking, gambling and anything that you might think off.
On that day he passed away, all staff and workers stopped their work and lined in single file and bowed their heads as his body left the site in the police truck. You could just imagine , as grand as the Mafia!!!!
On 10/4/09, Most of his colleague carried his coffin for an estimated distance of 2 kilometers.

On his character, you cannot win him in his speech for he could grill you with all kinds of international language to answer your question and could be the best lawyer in town.

On that very last day, he has a Very Grand send off by his friends and colleagues

We took the Mini van depart :10.00am and arriving Bangkok,Victory Monument at around 1.00pm ,tTotal hours taken 3 hours, well no traffic jam.
From here, we took the sky train from Victory Monument station to Ratchathewi which is only 2 stations away. It took us another approximately 10 minutes to walk to our hotel, Grand Pratunam.

We immediately went over to Platinum shopping complex for my wife was very anxious to see what we have mentioned to her in our previous trip was right. Well, she agreed and we went there twice before returning to Penang on the 6th day

Since this is the 3th lunar day of Chinese New Year, we decided to celebrate this occasion by having Ice cream in Swensens. Here the ice creams are very cheap as compare to Malaysia. I do not know the reason but then it is definitely cheaper by 50 %. XY took once in Queen Bay Mall, Penang and they commented on the price.
When we were young, my dad will buy a tupperware of ice cream to celebrate CNY and also Ice cream soda to make float.
