Summer is coming and that means new music. Thank God! I am so tired of hearing the same things over, and over, and over, AND OVER again. A lot of the new Cd's look very promising.

First up we have the "King of R&B" Usher with his upcoming release Here I Stand. The single Love In This Club has been doing pretty good on the Billboard charts. I peaked to #1 and is currently sitting pretty at #5. Its been on the charts for 13 weeks now. The video would be good if it didn't end so damn stupid. Here I Stand is set to release May 27,2008. Be on the look out.

Ashanti declares a declaration! The Foolish singer returns with The Declaration and I must admit The Way That I Love You is my song. Especially the Sissy Nooby remix. Yea I know yall don't nothing bout that. Its a New Orleans thing. But anyway her CD is set to be release on June 3, 2008. I don't know if its going to flop or not, I'm just glad that she is squealing anymore. Oh baby ah baby oh baby

Nah yall already know that I'm about to show favoritism to this guy because he his from where I'm from. Lil Weezy! The Carter 3 is about to drop and I.can't.wait. Lollipop has been setting the charts and radio stations on fire. The beat is hot and so is the song.The song has hit #3 on the Billboard charts but it peaked to #1 and has been on there for 9 weeks. This is a highly anticipated release and the album cover is sooo cute.

Who wants Hard Candy? I do! I have to say this is a great CD. Madonna can is always reinventing herself but never fails to make a hit. With only 4 Minutes To Save The World, Madonna.
and Justin Timberlake have become a force to be reckoned with. When I tell you I play this song non-stop! It's like an addiction man. But anyway the CD is pretty cool, it just has to grow on you because its kind of a new sound but not too unrecognizable.

E=MC2 is out right now and Mariah is raging a full fledged war with Queen Madonna. Touch My Body has been on the charts for 13 weeks. Mariah may be annoying but the girl can make music and its almost like she can do no wrong. Forget the quickie wedding to Nick Cannon or the possibility that she may be pregnant (or trying to get), the girl's CD is boss.

Gnarles Barkley has to be one of the most underrated groups out right now. Their single Run from the album ,The Odd Couple, is a fun song that i think more people should be blaring out of their speakers. My favorite song from the album has to be Going On. I will fully encouarge any and everyone to enjoy this CD. Get On It!

Do what cha wanna , I said do what cha wanna. Again I say DAMNIT I am from New Orleans and DAMNIT I am hard to please when it comes to great tasting food. This is a receipe from my hometown and I hope yall love it . Eat Up!

This is the most delicious Jambalaya I've ever tasted! You'll love it!

Jambalaya:

2 lbs Italian/green onion sausage (crumbled)-- Saute in large pan.
3 packs
frozen chopped seasoning (bellpepper, onion, celery)--Brown the above together
and skim off any excess grease.
Season to taste with garlic powder, "Tony
Chacherie" or other full-bodied seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.
Add 1-2
cans Ro-Tel Tomatoes.
Add chicken broth or stock to cover (about 3" above
seasoning/meat mixture).
Cover and simmer a few minutes.
Add 1-3 cups of
any meat or shell fish as desired....shrimp, crawfish, turkey, chicken, etc.
Cover and simmer some more!
Add 2-4 cups of rice (Uncle Ben's works
great!), depending on how large your pot is.
Cover and cook on "hi" for 15
minutes or so; then turn down and cool, stirring occasionally until tender!

Where I'm from hotsauce goes good with everything cajun. Try it in this.

I am not sure what the girl's name is or the person behind the blog but I must say she deserves a lot more comments than he gets. He talks about everything and voices his own opinion, sorta like me. Don't you hate when celebrities wear anything and think it's okay? Well here are prime damn examples of that bs.

I'm sorry but this has to be said .... everything Bee puts on IS NOT OKAY! Are you kidding me? This child looks damn homeless. I mean you just have to pick and chose your battles. This one was a lost cause. I know that you married to this mogul and all and you aren't doing bad at all yourself, but DAMN!

So you gonna make me believe that somebody told you that this is okay? She looks like a damn acid trip! I am so sorry but this is NEVER ok. She needs to fire her stylist and her friends! Because obviously she ain't got none!

Call me crazy but this is not a good look for Charlize. I usually like her outfits but this is not something I am to crazy about. She is a pretty girl. Its not the color, its the outfit.I'm not going to tear into her because like I said , I like her.

I love her clothing line and this dress isn't that bad but we all know the item that I am refering to in this ensemble. The damn fruit basket on her head. She looks like Chiquita Banana!

So I noticed that this is in fact my blog and I never find time out to write about myself. I'm always writing about other people's lives! I'm like “Ummmm.....No! Write something about yourself sometime."

This is me taking a little time out of my day to talk about what happened in my life yesterday. I can't really talk about what is going on today because the day has just begun! Anyway, I had the most fun Sunday night. What did I do you ask? Went out to eat and had a daiquiri (Jungle Juice), A VERY LARGE daiquiri that got me right cha heard me. Man I was feeling nice ready to dance but instead I went home and got some HEAD BUSTING ACTION ON IN HALO 3! Yall should really try that game while you’re intoxicated. You may not get that many kills but you will have fun. Trust! After that I went to sleep.

Yea I know not very exciting day but hey, what can you do? Trust me; my family is the funniest family you will ever meet. EVER! So I will have more stories to tell but for now I’m gonna peace out and get back to work. Yes I am blogging on the job. I don’t see how people make office jobs a profession. I sit at a desk for 8 HOURS A DAY! That, my friend, is insanity. That's the end of this post. PEACE OUT!

Jumbo Shrimp Stuffed with Cilantro and Chiles

So I have decided that I am going to start posting recipes on the site every week!: iGoTheBeatofRecipies!

8 jumbo shrimp, in the shell (about 1 1/4 pounds)

3 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves stripped

Juice of 2 limes (about 1/4 cup)

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus additional for seasoning

Freshly ground black pepper

1 clove garlic

chopped 1/2 large jalapeno

seeds 2 scallions (white and green parts)

1 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro leaves

Prepare an outdoor grill with a medium-high fire. Without removing the shells, slit about 3/4 of the way through the shrimp down the ridged back and remove the vein that runs down the center. Rinse and pat the shrimp dry. Whisk thyme leaves, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of the olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt and black pepper, to taste, in a shallow nonreactive bowl or dish. Lay the shrimp cut side down in the lime mixture and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

In a food processor, pulse the garlic, jalapeno, scallions, remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt to make a coarse paste. Add the cilantro and pulse just enough to incorporate into the mixture. Spoon the mixture into the opening in the shrimp and close the shrimp. Grill the shrimp shell side down (to keep filling from falling out) for 3 minutes. Turn to the other shell side, cover, and grill another 2 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and are slightly firm to the touch. Sprinkle with salt and serve.

Cook's Note: Shrimp cooked in the shells are more intensely flavorful. Leaving the shells on provides a buffer against overcooking, a misfortune many shrimp suffer. Shrimp, even these jumbos, continue to cook once removed from the grill. It's always best to cook them just until opaque and let the delicate shellfish finish cooking off the heat.

Jumbo shrimp in the shell can be a knife and fork sort of deal unless you're outside and it's summer and you are feeling very relaxed. Serve these with lots of napkins if your crowd is the peel-and-eat type.

Your Summer Vacation

The best summer vacation I ever had wasn't even away from home. I remember it distinctively. It was summer of 03' and all of my friends where by my house all the time! They practically lived there. Well we had more fun than anyone could ever imagine. It was 12 teenagers in 1 house! We boxed, went to the movies, played games, had spa nights, played chess and yes I could go on and on and on. But we did decide that we wanted to go somewhere out of town and that was the coast. One of my friends may a stupid suggestion that we should go to New Zealand. So she actually looked up flights to New Zealand thinking we were going to go. We went to the Gulf Coast and had a blast! We ran in the water, swam played volleyball; you know the works. That had to be the best summer of my life. Share your summer stories!

Halle Getting Married?

Chicken Adobo

I am always up for trying out new dishes. I love to cook so I am always on the lookout for something exciting. Who wants to cook the same thing every night? Boring! So I decided that I am going to try Adobo. What is it you ask? Adobo is Spanish for the word seasoning or marinade. Well let me say I am going to try Chicken Adobo. The recipe contains the following:

1 whole chicken (cut into eighths)
1 whole garlic (chopped)
olive oil or vegetable/corn oil
1 tsp ground black pepper
4 whole black pepper cloves
3 dried bay leaves
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup vinegar
**7up/sprite
**1 whole lemon (cut into 4)

Remember to wash your chicken very well. We recommend using the lemon (in ingredients) to scrub all over the chicken parts and rub some salt into it as well.
Heat oil and add all of the garlic, and cook until garlic is lightly browned. Add chicken and saute until the chicken is beginning to tenderize.
Add ground black pepper, whole black pepper cloves, soy sauce, and vinegar, and let simmer for 25-35 mins or until chicken is done.
Make sure to add more vinegar or soy sauce until it suits your taste (should be a bit tangy). When chicken is tender, add some 7 up if you want a sweeter taste, and let simmer for 5 more mins.
Serve over rice।

I am getting hungry just thinking about this. Yes , I will definitely be making this. This is how its supposed to come out.

Tom Kitten: The Second Coming

Well it looks like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes seem to be working on an extra addition to their family. Baby Suri is going to have a little brother or sister soon.I'm sure they are working on it. “She said she’s got the itch,” said the insider. “Now that Suri is more toddler than baby, she said she misses having an infant in the house. And, of course, she thinks Suri would make a great big sister.”

I think Suri is the cutest thing ever. Tom seems to think its a good idea: “He said if Katie wants to make another baby, she doesn’t have to ask twice. He always wanted more. It was Katie who has been holding off. Until now.”

We will be keeping up with this story to see if Katie Holmes will in fact rejoin the ever growing baby boom that is going on in Hollywood.

In other news we have Ms. Mimi herself. She has a hot new album, new marriage, and YES she did get a pre-nup! Well she is not as dumb as we thought she was. Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr. may not be the man you think of when you think about a superhero, but this actor plays the role of Iron Man perfectly. In fact, critics believe this to be Downey’s best role to date, and this movie isn’t disappointing anyone that takes the time to go and view it. From the way that he delivers a line in his own (slightly twisted) manner, to the way that his film presence is slightly eerie, you’ll be a Robert Downey Jr. fan all over again when you go and see Iron Man.

Action, adventure, and mind blowing sound will have your popcorn rattling form the moment this film starts. Robert Downey Jr. really steals this show, and theaters will be packed come the May 2nd release date. Though this film may entice young eyes, there is violence involved (may not be suitable for young viewers, but you be the judge). Whatever you do, don’t miss this one!

New Mel Gibson Movie: Edge of Darkness

Mel Gibson is gonna be doing a movie again. It's going be a movie version / remake / inspired (you pick the word) by the oldie British drama series Edge of Darkness.

For synopsis-lovers out there, here's a bit of original storyline: Gibson is an angry cop who wants to know why his daughter was killed and thus snoops around a bit. Finds out tons of conspiracy stories, twists and turns that will blow your mind. Sort of. Think X-files without the paranormal bit.

He's been lying low since his rather embarrassing anti-Semitic comments in 2006. Boy, was that a big nosedive for his career. Not only do the press get a mug shot of an awful drunken sneer, but they hear about his tipsy accusation of Jewish folk. So not cool!

Nonetheless, he repented and apologized and now he's back with a bang. Keep a lookout for updates on this movie.

My word! There are groups of well-meaning people going blue in the face, defending Miley Cyrus' skanky pictures and then she goes ahead and poses for arty, suggestive picture ... with the permission of her parents!

The pictures in question are Vanity Fair photos, taken by Annie Leibovitz. The most controversial picture of the lot is a picture of a sleepy eyed Miley with tousle hairs, donning make-up that belies her age and of course, her underage torso covered by stain sheet with her back peeking out.

Did I mention she is just 15?

And her parents were on the set for the shoot! In fact, her former singer star Billy Ray Cyrus posed with her in some of them. We should all be grateful it was not in the stain picture. But then knowing he was on the set, somewhere in the background is creepy enough.

Before her parents start screaming that they were deceived, check out what the magazine has to say:

"Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day," the magazine said. "Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."

Connor Cruise's big movie debut

In other teeny bopper news, Couch-Jumper Cruise's eldest kid is going to make his big break into movies.

At the age of thriteen, Connor Cruise is all set to make a name for himself. Of course, I'm sure it helps to have friends in high places; the rising celeb child is set to star as the younger version of Will Smith in an upcoming movie, "Seven Pounds".

Paris Banned from Hotel

Not another one. Paris Hilton has been banned from yet another hotel. Apparently during her recent stay at the Hyatt Hotel, the 'famous-for-wrong-reasons' star went a little bit crazy with a permanent marker in the prestigious presidential suite.

To that effect, she wrote "Paris Moscow 2008" in the $16 000 per night suite.

Yes, much as she might have adoring fans all over the world this might not be a fancy titbit that hotel managers want to boast about.

Imagine the reactions of traveling business folks and diplomatic delegates - "Ohh, Paris was in this suite. Egads can we swap rooms, who know what she home vid she shot in here".

An update on the Megan Williams case

As of 13th March 2008, both Karen Burton and Frankie Brewster received sentences for their role in torture, assault and kidnapping of Megan Williams.

Burton " ... received separate 2-10 year sentences for malicious assault and assault during the commission of a felony and 10 years for the civil rights charge". Brewster's sentence was a 10-25 years for second-degree sexual assault.

Seven people were arrested in Logan County connection with the rape, sexual assault, torture and kidnapping of Megan Williams. They were Frankie Brewster, her son, Bobby R. Brewster, Karen Burton, her daughter Alisha Burton, George A. Messer and Danny J. Combs.

In February, Alisha Burton and George Messer were handed 10 year sentences for their role in the Megan Williams case.

As for the rest of the guilty party, Bobby Brewster and Danny Combs are awaiting felony charges. Linnie Burton Jr. was indicted on a misdemeanor battery charge.

So far, all those who had been convicted have pleaded guilty in court.

They pleaded guilty for a racially motivated, heinous crime; it seems too lenient to let them off with prison sentences that could amount to 10 years. Especially after hearing the graphic details of torture and assault on Megan Williams.

For instance, Frankie Brewster can apply for parole in 10 years, and Karen Burton in six and a half years!

We are talking about a group of people who brutally violated the rights of another human being! Not only did this group of misfits viciously beat Williams but they also used racial slurs at her; they tried to cut off her foot; whipped and forced to work in their garden; raped by male culprits and sexually violated by some of the women. The list goes on.

Thus, it hardly seems right that lesser pleas were accepted. It is an affront to the victim and her family. Numerous news agencies noted the distress on the side of the family, on hearing the light sentences.

"I just believe he (prosecutor Brian Abraham) shouldn't have plea bargained with any of them," said Williams' mother, Carmen, after the sentencing. "She (Megan Williams) wanted them to do life."

The good news is, Megan Williams recently received a scholarship to help with her education. A generous two-year $40,000 scholarship for ITT Technical Institute. It's good to know that she's rising above this unfortunate incident and opening new chapters of her life. All the best to a new future!
