New Features Rolled Out

Beer Wars got way better last week with the rollout of some great new features. Briefely, here they are:

World Ladder - aggregates beer statistics according to country (both origin of brewing, and places of high beer consumption).

Recommendations - Beer Wars dynamically recommends beers which you might also like to try based on your and other users' preferences.

An Improved UI - Tighter branding and a general overhaul following extensive usability testing have combined to create a far better user experience.

....... The application has thousands of beers from across the globe to choose from, including many from Australia, America and Europe, so you won’t be left dry when searching for your favorite beer. It is picking up users very quickly as well, around 400 already and it has only been released for a day or two. The Developers who are Australian (Hence the dig at you Yanks) also have a website you can go to at beerwars.org to discuss the application and provide some feedback...........

Final Verdict

Extremely great way to see the most popular beers from among your groups (friends, city, country) and to share your own tastes.

Today is awesome. Today an elite crew have convened in an undisclosed location to build Facebook's (and indeed the world's) first ever beer ranking application: BEER WARS.

Here's the pitch:

"Your favorite beer is an important part of who you are – it’s seen you through the good times and the bad. But now your beer needs YOU....

Tout your all-time favourite beer, give props to that new beer you’re enjoying at the moment, or rubbish your least favourite beer. See who else shares your tastes, view beer preference statistics in real time, and find out which beer is the greatest of all beers. People....this is a beer war. Stand by your brew. Be the best that you can be."

This is going live soon, and when it does, it's going to be big. BEER WARS.....STAY TUNED. THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET CRAZY.

- We have all blown off our jobs to make this happen, so if this doesn't go big we are basically screwed.
