I saw this website and thought it was too good to be true. If you ever wanted to teach your children how to be lazy, uninformed voters who have nothing better to do than cook up ways to spend other people's money inefficiently and illegally, then you should buy these books with tax dollars. In fact, you could teach whole indoctrination sessions (read: public school classes) about how great this who scam is. I mean, look at the cover of this book, a diversity of color and size shows that more than Mama voted, and they are all so happy about this sign. By the way, bears can't fly and they are dangerous. Ask Dwight Schrute, or Stephen Colbert. Bears always make the Threat Down, because they are the most dangerous threat to America!

The video above is a neat history lesson, but the usefulness ends at about the 8th minute. If you have time, I recommend it because it will illustrate how government intervention and bad social policy created the financial "crisis" now in effect. A better statement of what happened is made by Thomas DiLorenzo, Professor of Economics at Loyola College.

I was discussing with someone earlier today that the same sort of social policy applies to college and making it more affordable. The price of college increases in response to forced lending and government intervention. Arguably, the product, a bachelor's degree-holding graduate, has declined in value as a direct result. Additionally, this accessibility leads to a change in attitude regarding such education causing the educated to sometimes feel entitled to the degree as a result of the payments and loans made. To compound the problem, the relative immaturity of college students, most of whom have just recently achieved the age of consent, sign contracts with little understanding of how their current state (attending classes and learning something) is to be paid for with interest by their future selves. They will often experience a significant wage increase upon achieving that degree, but the entitlement attitude coupled with financial immaturity can lead to excessive debt burden because the four-year degree takes more than four years.

It seems as if the Dream World has disappeared. Thankfully, I have found it and sufficient illegal action on the part of our government has recalled the dream. In case you hadn't heard, our government is planning to reach to a new super-constitutional low in the form of a $700,000,000,000 bailout plan, also known as communal ownership.

This sort of thing has happened before in less "limited government" settings, such as the U.S.S.R. While writing to your Congressmen may dissuade them from taking the first step off the Communist cliff, I doubt there will be any preventing this disaster. Through a combination of bipartisan double-speak, and President Bush's fear politics, we require immediate action by Leviathan to stop the failure of our markets! The only failure here is our government's adherence to the Constitution.

I believe that November is the time to stave of financial disaster and elect only those who uphold their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Whew! It's been a while since any of us has written on our blog! I wonder if that has effected our readership?

A recent story peaked my interest and let me decide to get back here to the ol' trusty blog. The story comes from my birthplace in Atlanta, Georgia. The legislature, lead by Senator Doug Stoner (*giggles*), has recently passed a law that bans retailers from selling lollipops that taste like marijuana to minors. First of all, how addicted do you need to be to pot to have to have candy to taste like it. What's next, beer suckers? Actually, that sounds pretty good, nevermind.

The real absurdity comes from the ban in the first place. Apparently, people think that the pot suckers will lead people to do the real thing. My theory is that they have the exact oppisite effect. If I were a parent, I'd give a sucker to them at a young age and explain to them that this is what drugs taste like. After being revolted by the butt-tasting candy they'd never do drugs their entire life. Crisis averted.

The best part of the article has to be the gem of a quote by State Representative Judy Manning. After explaining that she had been recieving death threats about the bill, she explained the situation by saying, "Some people think their rights are their rights." Ah yes, silly me to think that I should have rights in a supposedly "free" society.

Just Woke Up

4/20 went off with a roaring success, both for me and for marijuana decriminalization/legalization activists throughout the states.

Just to clarify: you don't have to be a drug user to support drug decriminalization/legalization efforts.

Colorado University had over 10,000 smokers in attendance at a 4/20 celebration. Yet in this 10,000 strong crowd of stoners and first-timers alike were subject to absolutely no criminal penalties. It is also important to point out that police actually assisted with two cases of dehydration at the event (hopefully a bad case of cotton mouth) and there were no incidents of violent behavior (at least anything that attracted the attentions of the police). Pot smokers know how to protest. There were even students selling food at the event, hoping to make a buck or two off those poor bastards suffering from the munchies. Capitalism! Doesn't the government realize the money they're missing out on by not decriminalizing marijuana? You'd think they would give us something else they could tax excessively.

In previous years, the police in the area did everything they could to catch smokers at the event, including video surveillance and spraying the smokers with water. This year, I believe, the massive numbers overwhelmed them. Only 5,000 were in attendance last year.

In any case, this is a victory for decriminalization/legalization efforts. Big event, no problems. Civil disobedience at its best.

I would seem that the cops in Wausau, Wisconsin are overpaid, and bored. It would seem that they have nothing better to do than interrupt a peaceful assembly of children under 18 to test them for a crime. Not just a sample of them, but they search the house and administer a breath test to 90 people. Why? Because, according to the gestapo, if a minor present there had consumed alcohol in the previous 5 hours and if that minor had gotten into a horrible car accident, then people would have been angry at the police. I really hope there weren't violent criminals about. Odds are they got away because the cops were busy depriving children of their fundamental rights.

Recently, Democratic candidate Mike Gravel decided to pursue the Libertarian nomination for president. Nevermind that he wants the government to have its hand in nearly everything economically. One of his reasons for leaving the Democratic party is that it is "no longer the party of FDR." If that is his reason, why is he joining the Libertarian party? Is he not aware that FDR is a naughty word within the party? It seems like he has no idea what he is doing. Last month he endorsed Green Party presidential candidate Jesse Johnson. The Green Party just happens to have completely opposite views of the Libertarian Party. The best quote I have seen in a while comes from Libertarian Party National Media Coordinator Andrew Davis. “He’s a current Democratic presidential candidate who is now a member of the Libertarian Party who has endorsed a member of the Green Party,” Davis said.

Poland Upgrades, Still Sucks

President Bush is such a compassionate person. He is doing everything within his power to defend the world from the pure hatred that is terrorism. His most recent action is just another example of his brilliance. The two term President has now made a commitment to Poland to help them upgrade their military equipment and create a modern army. Nevermind that the United States still needs upgrades to their equipment and they are in the middle of a war. With nearly a trillion dollar budget, isn't it possible that we fund our own troops instead of everybody else's? It only seems appropriate that the song "How Bizarre" started playing on my computer as soon as I finished my last sentence. Maybe the newer equipment will be lighter, so the Polish army has less trouble throwing it down as they run away.

The bigger question is this. Does this put the status of Poland as the Mexico of Europe into question? Will a modernized military make them more of a Canada of Europe? These are questions that will take some time to answer. One thing remains certain: Poland should keep their diseases to themselves.

Newsflash. More Americans are in prison than serve in the military (double). Less than 0.5% of the U.S. population serves in the Armed Forces (yes that includes the Coast Guard and the Air Force). Compare that to the over 1% of the American population serving a prison sentence. This can be viewed one of two ways: either (1) More Americans are criminals than ever before anywhere in the world, or (2) Americans criminalize more than ever before anywhere in the world. I will leave that up to you. On the subject of crime, how much are Kyle Payne's favorite actors making these days? Obviously not enough when they have to resort to crime and join that 1%. Maybe the feminist craze is hurting the south philly porn industry. Either way, those two won't be degrading women anytime soon, dirty criminals. So would feminists prefer these two men out of work and unable to apply whatever skill or ability is required to produce adult films? I think that is a question for our Mormon friends to debate.

The real story here is the connection between John McCain and donors such as George Soros and Teresa Heinz Kerry. Talk about shady business. Why aren't George Soros and Teresa Heinz Kerry on the campaign trail if they love McCain so much?

So at a time when this little tidbit finally comes to the public's attention after seven (7) years, it only seems appropriate to cover up the news with something a little bit more "Fox Newsy." An affair is the perfect thing! It's just the sexy that Fox News really needed. And it must be said: I really don't give a flying rat's ass about this alleged affair (which I don't believe happened).

Good for McCain and his wife, by the way. But here's the real story, about the connection between George Soros, Teresa Heinz Kerry, and John McCain.

Teresa Heinz Kerry has donated more than 4 million bones to the Arizona senator and his campaign manager.

And George Soros has been funding the McCain Train since 2001.

Why would McCain be associated with these people?

Why would he risk his candidacy by accepting bribes from these people?

Because he's been in bed with them the whole time. We are about to become victims to a vast conspiracy.

Classifieds: Future Wife Wanted

Right now I am listening to the "True Love" by Angels and Airwaves and it got me thinking about all of the attributes that are required to make a relationship last with me. Here goes nothing:

1. Must be an avid sports fan

I love sports. You must love them too. You can't like just any sports either. You must like real sports. Figure skating won't cut it for me, honey. The basic rule of sports is if you have to wait for a few minutes after you complete your event to find out if you won, it's not a sport. It's an athletic event.

2. Must like the right teams

I am not saying that you have to root for the same teams that I do, but you can't root for ones I can't bear. For example, I am a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks. If you are a Missouri fan, I will understand that you are just a misguided soul, but still be able to stand you. However, if you tell me that you are a fan of Syracuse I will have a problem. It's not that I hate Syracuse, I'd just rather watch a team without fearing that my retinas will burn out.

3. Must be a cheap date

Pretty self-explanitory. I don't have a lot of cash and the money I do have should go to me.

4. Must not expect me to put the toilet seat down

I pee more often than you. Trust me. It's more efficient to leave it up.

5. Must not have high expectations for me

I really am a sad excuse for a man. If you keep that in mind I might just surprise you sometime. If not, you will be greatly dissapointed.

6. Must be smart, but not too smart

Must be intelligent enough to have quality discussions, but not bright enough to win them. Until we're married. Then you will win every argument my default.

7. Must have Packers season tickets

Duh

If you meet all of those requirements, please let me know in the comments below. If not, I'll keep holding out.

What do you do with degrees in Philosophy & Religion, Social Consciousness, and Women's Studies? Apparently, you go to jail. I know he must be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and trial by jury of peers, blah, blah, blah. He always seemed a tool to me, but I never thought he would be a felonious tool. It does seem a little ironic that someone who was a lead advocate for sexually assaulted women could be charged with assault. Oh yeah, and tried using his own photographic evidence. BRILLIANT!

As an advocate and a resident adviser, he was supposed to be an individual of strong moral character to whom others could look up. How disappointing. I can only imagine how annoyed his ethics professor must be.

For good measure, let's add activists/advocates on to my previous declaration about politicians, carbon monoxide, and iocane powder.
