We have finally finished our CD and will be sure to have plenty of copies with us at our next show on Friday, June 26th at The Beachcomber on Wollaston Beach in Quincy. We are sad to report that John is unable to continue playing guitar with us, he will be missed. Bud Silveira has joined on to get us back on track. We hope to see you all soon.

Mixing, Mixing, Mixing

We are posting this from Galaxy Park Studios, live, in the process of mixing the latest six tracks we recorded a couple of weeks ago. So far two are in the can and Colin is practicing his piano for "Never Say" and things are sounding great so far!

We finished up the basic tracks last Friday and are pretty excited. We are scheduled to go back in and mix them on the 16th....stay tuned!

We are scheduled to begin finishing our CD the weekend of December 6th. We will be going back to Galaxy Park Studios to record six more songs to complement the four we have already finished. We are all excited to be working with Richard Marr again.

Introducing Plan B

We have a new bass player. We are pleased – delighted and thrilled – to introduce to you the newest sadbastard, Bernardo Aumond – otherwise known as Plan B.

The B-man smiles!

Bernardo hails from the South – South Boston, the South Shore, or the really, really Deep South – we haven't quite figured out which. He plays the accordion, he can fix airplanes, and he's never met a pun he didn't like: ladies, watch out!

Say hello to Plan B as he makes his SBGP debut upstairs at the Middle East on Friday September 5. We're on at 9:00.

This is the Fugitive Kind digital CD release, so it'll be extra cool (the stuff we've heard from the sessions sound amazing).

Also on the bill, the very cool guys who make up The Lights Out, and a final band to be determined.

Lots of stuff happening here at sadbastardgoespop central and this seems like a good time to sit back tell you all about it.

We just wrapped up production on a video for "Shut," shot last weekend; Mitch is working on the editing for that now. A huge thanks to Ewa, our fabulous model (center); Ashley, for hair and makeup (left); and Victor Vargas, of the Improper Bostonian, fashion director (right).

And the hugest thanks to Steve Paulovitch, director; and Mitch Allen, producer. It doesn't take a village to make a video, it takes a fucking army, and we are deeply grateful to have these folks on our side.

We should have that video up on YouTube shortly -- and you can be sure we'll tell you when.

PodCamp Boston happens this Saturday (Oct 27) at the new Boston Convention Center. Colin will be performing a solo acoustic set around noonish. Stop by the Rockosphere booth for that, for sbgp stickers, and a copy of the new EP.

We have our CD release show at TT the Bear's Place on Wed November 7 (thanks Randi!) -- and you can win a special sbgp iPod Shuffle just by showing up. We go on around 9:30. Stick around for the Destries after we play.

Then on Wednesday December 19 we have a special early show at the Bulfinch Yacht Club (thanks Shred!) -- we go on at 8:45 (early!).

Countdown to PodCamp Boston, Oct 26 - 28

PodCamp Boston will be held Friday October 26 through Sunday October 28th at the Boston Expo center.

PodCamp is a free conference (or "unconference," as they term it) for podcasters and listeners, bloggers and readers, and anyone interested in new media. The first PodCamp was held in Boston last year; PodCamps are now being held worldwide.

You do not need to be a podcaster to attend a PodCamp. If you're interested in podcasting or blogging, if you're a podsafe musician (like sbgp), or just someone curious about podcasting and new media, then please come.

And ... sadbastardgoespop is planning a live acoustic performance on Saturday, October 27, at the rockosphere booth.
