I just finished my squirrel piece. I used watercolor, colored pencil and graphite pencil in the image.

I am working on a new design. I can not get the whole image on my scanner so I think i will take a digita photo of the design after I get more painted. I think the raspberries will take the longest to paint as I want to do a lot of detail work in the leaves. As you can see, I have a lot to do yet.

I have been busy working on some new sketches but they are not ready to post on my blog yet. I decided to post a picture I took a few years back. The small one is Hitty (my travel doll) and the larger one is Charlie. They are looking out at Lake Michigan.

I have been working on the spot designs for the person in Canada. Here is one page that I just finished. This will be fun for little kids to color and learn at the same time.

new project

I am working on a new project for the Humane Society in Canada. I am having fun working on it . Right now, I am doing some animal body language. This will show if the cat or dog is sleeping, happy or sad. I am doing the images in black and white and they will more or less be spot art designs. I am then going to scan them and post them in photoshop and add the type.

I think it is for a good cause and will post the finished book when it is done. Here is one sketch I did for the kitty sleeping.

I am still to busy to work on any art so I am going to post a photo of me and a baby tiger. This photo was taken back in the 80's. I am unsure of the exact date. I just love tigers.

Back from vacation

We just got back from our trip to Door County. We had a really relaxing time. This is my favorite place and is called Cave Point. The waves are beautiful coming in and I love the rocky coast line.

We are looking forward to going back in a few years.

I have been really busy wrapping up my Son's Senior year in High School. I haven't had time to do art but I am hoping to at least do some sketching soon. We will see. I would like to illustrate some realistic birds in a nice setting. Here is an illustration I have done in the past of some robins. I would like them to be a little more realistic so I will be working on that after all the hub bub.

Here is my favorite friend. She is a wonderful siamese and helps me illustrate. When I am trying to use my light table, guess who is laying on it? Then when I go to work on my drafting board, she is laying on that. What would I do without my helper. :)

I am getting a little side tracked from illustrating but took the day off to bake. I had some blue berry filling that the Amish made and wanted to make some coffee cake. Here is what I ended up with. I hope it tastes good as I never baked it before.

Here is a fun assignment I did for a critique group. We were told to illustrate a new animal that happened from a zoo accident where all the animals were accidently squished together.

New Etsy store

I just opened up an Etsy store to sell my rubber stamps and greeting cards. I just set it up so I only have a few stamps on there. The rubber stamps were design by me and my Mum. The Bunny is drawn by me and I used a stuffed rabbit I had as a small child as a model. I still have that stuffed toy too.

I am almost done with this illustration. I am still stuck on the frosting color. Maybe strawberry??? I will finish this design up on Monday and then start something new. I am thinking I want to work on a new animal design. I love illustrating animals.

I think my image is a little crooked so sorry about that. I think the colors are working ok but I am a little concerned about the green I added. I am thinking of adding little green leaves in the wallpaper to offset the green I added.

I finally had some time to work on my new illustration. I am debating on what design to put on the wallpaper. I am thinking some spring like flowers might work. So far, I am like what I am doing.

I haven't had time to work on any art images this week. I am planning on outlining the image next week and then start to paint it in. It will be a fun image to paint as I am going to put lots of frosting and flour all over.

I am attaching an image I illustrated a while back. This one was done in watercolor with some colored pencil detail work.

I have finally finished up the sketch of my little girl baking. I am going to add a few more small things in the design but not much. I will start working on it next week and will start posting the color versions then.

New Illustration

I am working on a new image. I was thinking Birthday party. So, what about a little girl celebrating someone's birthday and she bakes them a big cup cake.

I am stuck on the background and unsure what I will illustrate for that. I am thinking of having a big table in back that is just a mess (from her baking) but we will see.

I finished my design today. I think the violet works well with the pink as I wanted a nice spring look. I also put a little violet tint to the lambs to make it all tie together.

Now it is off to think of a new design.
