He has looks to die for and is adored by women the world over. This is all well and good but can he actually act?

His track record is not exactly impressive. Cruise began with the painfully cheesy ‘Top Gun’. Some people rave about this film but I have never understood why. To me it was a boring film about boring ‘fly boys’. I suppose, if you enjoy the typically non-imaginative Hollywood formula, it was a successful film. Personally I thought that it was bland and rather naff.

Over the years, Mr. Cruise has starred in many other wake-me-up-when-it-is-finally-over movies. You will have to forgive me if I miss any out but it is all so exciting that my memory has been affected. He has given us such groundbreakers as ‘Minority Report’ (which could actually have been quite good if Cruise had simply been substituted with some soap-on-a-rope or something), ‘War of the Worlds’ (aka ‘See if You Can Find 2 Minutes of Movie Without a Silly Mistake’) and ‘Mission (not-entirely-stimulating) Impossible’.

In 1994, Tom Cruise declared himself as being ‘a serious actor’ with the release of ‘Interview with the Vampire’. Having read and fallen in love with the book twice over, I decided it best to give the movie a wide berth... Lestat and Tom did not sit comfortably together in my mind.

Tom might look like a ‘goer’ but I would not actually describe him as having a great deal of screen presence. If you put his charisma into an eggcup then you would still have plenty of room to park your car.

And then, of course, there is the Scientology thing... What kind of fool is into rubbish like that for goodness sake (well, Mimi Rogers, Priscilla Presley, Karen Black, John Travolta...). Oh, well.
Finally before I go, I have just became aware of the fact that I have been glaring at my computer screen for the last few days and am really tired of my House Wallpaper, I think it is time for a revamp, these and more updates coming soon

Great Wooden Actors #2 - The Testosterone Trio.

It is only fair that ‘actors’ who are basically clones of one another are written about as one ugly lump.

Yes, I am talking about the vastly repulsive and totally uncinemagraphic ‘talent’ that is Steven Segal, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Vin Diesel. These chaps are masters of Ju-Jitsu, Karate, kickboxing and cross-stitch. No-one in their right mind would upset one of these human killing machines. Moreover, no-one in their right mind would want to sit through one of their movies...

It is rather strange to think that anyone would actually enjoy watching any one of these three meat-heads kicking ass. What the actual attraction is of a couple of hours of this crap is a bit of a mystery to me. The films in which they feature are merely vehicles that are shaped around their manly fighting/killing skills. There is no actual story, or at least not one that can be taken seriously.

I think that the main purpose of films starring Steven Seagull, Van-Diesel or Jean-Claude Great Dame is to entertain meatheads who are not famous. They are hugely influential when it comes to people mimicking them for anti-social behaviour purposes; many an ASBO could never have been awarded without their valuable input.

Van-Diesel is the newest recruit in the Chuck Norris School of ‘Kick-the-Living-Poo-out-of-You’ and has already become a huge success in such sentimental modern classics as ‘Pitch Black’ and ‘xXx’. The people just cannot get enough of him it would appear.

I recently heard that Steven Segal was rumoured to be interested in doing some Shakespearean theatre, but the person who told me this is now on different medication and has improved tremendously.

So, the only thing left to consider is which of these tough cookies takes the biscuit? Sylvester Stallone really is a wally and, as this article proves, it is incredibly easy to take the mickey out of him. How can anyone possibly take this guy seriously anymore? In fact, how could anyone have ever taken this guy seriously?

In my opinion, when you have spent the last thirty years portraying varying degrees of monosyllabic meatheads it is high time to step out of the limelight and hope that people will forget about it all...

Keep a low profile, ‘Sly’; the proper actors are coming to get you!

Great Wooden Actors #1 - Sylvester Stallone.

Out of all of the modern actors there are a few that I find pretty annoying; and out of those few there are a couple that strike me as being naff. Narrowing things down even further you are quickly left with Sylvester Stallone.

Yes, Sylvester Stallone, the mainstream ‘hard man’ of the eighties and nineties who has given us a long list of really crap films. How can anyone take this guy seriously as an actor? If you have been unfortunate enough to have seen him ‘act’ in any of his movies then you will know exactly what I am talking about. Let me put it this way; if Sylvester Stallone and Homer Simpson were both nominated for an Oscar in the same film then Homey could eat his donuts without any fear of getting indigestion.

I suppose you have to give some credit to ‘the Italian stallion’ though because-

No, I’m sorry; I just can’t give him any credit. It is just impossible. And fancy being known as the Italian stallion for God’s sake. If people called me that then I would stay indoors!

I have heard rumours that when the stallion reprised his tear-jerking role as ‘Rocky’ (another absolutely ridiculous name), for the twenty-eighth film of the franchise, they had to use CGI techniques on his flabby torso. It is also understood that anti aging skin care products were in good supply.

Apparently Mr. Stallone is a huge ‘sex symbol’. I find this a tad difficult to believe. How can women be attracted to a drooling, mono-syllabic creature that is happiest when stuck to a windowpane with his swollen and sulky-looking lips? Perhaps it was a misprint; yes, that’s it, a misprint. Oil glands in the skin discharge sebum which is an oily substance. Sometimes sebum is spilled under the skin due to breakage in the wall of the gland and mixes with bacteria and dirt causing inflammation or swelling and redness in the skin, which then goes on to form pimples or acne. Generally the face is affected by acne but sometimes acne may appear on the back and chest. Treatment of acne is a painstaking procedure, but your main problem and misery starts once you are over with your acne, because it leaves behind scars which can be really deep and ugly. The depth of the acne scars depends on the skin type and varies from person to person. There are different types of treatment for acne scars depending on the type of the skin and depth of the scars. There are generally following types of acne scars:

1. Acne scars are caused due to increase in the tissue formation of the skin known as keloid and hypertrophic scars. Keloid scars are genetic in nature.
2. Acne scars also occur due to decrease in tissue formation, which means collagen build up is less in the skin. This type of acne scar is quiet common.
3. Acne scars which are large in size with sharp sides and razor-sharp margins are known as depressed fibrotic. Their appearance is similar to chicken pox.
4. Flat scars which are soft, with violet or bluish color are termed as Atrophic macules. They fade with time.
5. Acne scars which vary in size and have edges which are sloping are known as deep soft and superficial scars.
A person can seek treatment like laser treatment and dermabrasion for the removal of acne scars.

Tips For Keeping Your Pores Clean and Clear

While it is important to make sure that you are taking the proper steps needed in order to treat any current acne you have, it is more important to make sure that you are properly ensuring that your pores remain clear. For the women out there, it is important to avoid makeup as much as possible. When it is used, make sure that you are properly washing it off of your face just as soon as you can. It is also a good idea to make sure that you are keeping your hands away from your face. Also, make sure that you are changing your pillow cases at least two to three times a week in order to reduce the amount of dirt and oil buildup on the pillow.

Make sure that you are keeping the telephone handset as clean as possible. Be sure to reduce the amount of stress in your life and drink plenty of water. By following these tips in combination with a healthy diet and exercise routine, you will see a fresher looking face in the mirror in no time at all. Don't underestimate the importance of the exercise either. Perhaps you have become so frustrated that you’ve decided that over-the-counter creams just aren’t where it’s at if you want to get rid of wrinkles. Well, fret not as there is an anti-cream so powerful that it actually does what it promises. This cream is known as Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum.

Okay– I know the name is not the snazziest in the world, but that’s not what matters here. What does matter is what’s inside the serum. In fact, the ingredient combination found in the Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum is so unique I highly doubt you’ll find them anywhere else. Why? What other anti-wrinkle cream has gold in it?

You read that right! Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum actually uses real 14-karat gold flakes to help eliminate your wrinkles. They do this by drawing out toxins that are found on the surface on your skin. From there, the Serum’s collagen-building ingredients begin infiltrating your skin’s cells. Then, after a month or so, the collagen fibers within your skin get rebuilt, which straightens out your wrinkles.

So, how much does Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum cost? Ultimately, it will depend on where you buy it from. But it is possible to get Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum for as low as £19.98, (or $28.95 in U.S. dollars). Such a price is definitely not bad, as some wrinkle creams have been known to go over £34.50. At only £19.98, the cream costs about the same amount as any other brand that you could get over-the-counter.

As far as actually buying the cream, Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum is widely available online. And, unlike other brands of wrinkle cream, Anti-Wrinkle 55 Serum can be found at outlets that cater to an international audience. So, non-US residents don’t have to forego the Serum’s wondrous benefits.

How to Eliminate Stretch Marks

When the skin stretches out too quickly, the collagen becomes damaged. As a result, stretch marks develop. What are stretch marks? They are the scarred, rigid lines that cause dread in any woman who is experiencing pregnancy or weight gain. And the reason why is because unlike regular bruises, stretch marks are dark and raised. So, makeup won’t do anything to hide them. Plus, they tend to stay around for a long time– unless you do something to stop them.

With that being said, what can you do to eliminate stretch marks once and for all? First, you need to take measures to rejuvenate your skin’s collagen production. Cocoa butter does wonders for this, especially for women who cannot afford expensive skin creams. If you then buy your cosmetics online the price drops even further. I myself use cocoa butter on my own stretch marks, and I have noticed that over the past few months they are starting to reduce in size.

However, cocoa butter alone will only get you so far when it comes to getting rid of stretch marks. You need to also think about the pigmentation problem, (as the dark pigmentation often makes stretch marks appear worse than what they really are). This is where skin lighteners come in. Their specialized ingredients will help even out the dark areas on your stretch marks, (even if they can’t get rid of their rigidness).

Finally, you need to consider doing weight-lifting. Why weight-lifting over other exercises? Well, weight-lifting builds muscle, which will help eliminate some of the fat cells that harm your skin’s collagen. Other exercises may burn calories but not fat, which is the main offender when it comes to stretch marks.

In conclusion, don’t think that stretch marks are something you have to live with forever. By following some of the suggestions in this article, you can get your hips, arms and stomach just as smooth as they were before your pregnancy or weight gain.

Nair vs. Shaving: Which is Better for Hair Removal?

What can a woman do if she wants to get rid of unwanted hairs? Well, laser surgery will remove them permanently, but the procedure can be really expensive for those with limited budgets. The same can also be said for professional waxing, (which needs to be applied more often than laser procedures). This leaves two other options: chemical-based solutions, (such as Nair), or shaving.

Which of these options are better? It depends on what you’re after. I have found that Nair removes significantly more hair, while smoothing out your skin. And, since Nair involves no shaving, you don’t have to worry about accidentally cutting yourself.

However, Nair is not always the best choice if you want to remove hair around your bikini area, or worse, your private parts. This is because the solution burns like crazy. It can also cause an infection if it happens to get inside your vaginal area.

So, in that situation, I would suggest shaving over Nair, though you still have to be careful. Since shaving usually involves shaving cream, you could still risk an infection, (even if shaving cream contains fewer chemicals than Nair). And, there’s also the possibility that you could cut yourself.

Of course, even if you’re not shaving your nether regions, consider that shaving cream usually has a much more pleasant smell than Nair. The last thing you want is to smell like chemicals, a consequence that is possible with Nair lotions. True, the smell doesn’t last long, but with traditional shaving you don’t have it at all.

One should also consider the cost associated with Nair vs. shaving. Nair costs $7 per bottle while a set of razors and shaving cream will cost you around that same amount. But with the latter, you’ll be able to shave for a longer period of time. Also consider too that if you’re in a bind you can use soap as your shaving cream. Granted, it’s not a preferred method, but as long as you’re careful it can still be very effective. What ever you choose out of these two, both of them are cheaper than the home laser hair removal equivilant such as a Tria. Whilst effective, a Tria is going to set you back £675 and that's a good deal on one of those. If you have the money, it may be worth spending on, if you don't, you now know your options.

The choice is yours!

PS - I thought I'd use a picture of a man instead of a woman this time. It brings the message across, but is a little more pleasant on the eyes for us!

Best Ways For Acne Treatment

Best Ways For Acne Treatment

There are numerous products in the market that claim to treat acne. With so many of them, it is difficult to understand which ones actually work and which ones are fakes. Acne treatment is a very sought after treatment by both men and women. Most of the acne treatments limit to cleansing the outer surface of the skin. They do not attack the root problem of acne. You must therefore look for those products which eliminate the source of acne and also prevent it from further outbreak. A typical acne treatment set will be composed of a cleanser, clearing tonic, a serum and a pores serum.

If you feel that your acne problem is getting worse, it is better if you consult your health care provider. A professional dermatologist will be able to guide you well. If you have mild acne problem, then this can be treated with the help of over-the-counter drugs. You must wash the face at least twice a day with the help of lukewarm water and gentle soap. Over-the-counter drugs that contain salicylic acid can be used. These should be applied during the night time, just before going to bed. These are easily available at pharmacies. These act by removing the infected epidermal layer. During the time when you are applying this medication, it is essential that you take proper measures to protect your skin from sun’s UVA and UVB rays. Topical solutions do not have magical effects and it may take some time before visible results are seen.

In case you have acne which cover more than 50% of your face then you must consult a dermatologist for their removal. At times doctors will prescribe you with medication which is simple but at times a combination of several treatments may be required. Acne treatment is not only skin specific, it is age specific too.

Effective Cellulite Treatment: It’s Just Not As Simple As Cottage Cheese

With 80% of womankind trying out everything they can to rid themselves of that bunched up fat under the skin cellulite treatment could just be a national pastime of sorts. Cellulite is known by many names such as orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, mattress phenomenon, and hail damage.

The best way to treat cellulite is to adopt a three pronged strategy:

Diet

Exercise

Specific treatment

The first two of these cellulite treatments are pretty much straightforward.

Eat a well balanced diet which is rich in fiber and antioxidants and low in salt. The lesser the fat in your diet, the lesser the chances for accumulation under the skin, or anywhere else! It is a good idea to detoxify your body while cutting down on nicotine and caffeine. Onion is a good diuretic, it helps to release excess water and cleanse your body.

Exercise, especially which is targeted towards the fat in your legs and buttocks will help build muscle and smoothen out those ugly dimples in those areas. Brisk walking, cycling or yoga - regular exercise will increase circulation which is very good for treating cellulite.

Now for the specific treatments for cellulite:
Try a body brush, or an exfoliator regularly to reduce cellulite. Firm yet gentle dry skin brushing before your bath every morning is especially effective.

Use a good cellulite cream which has ingredients like retinol, vitamin C, green tea extract, pentapeptides, coenzyme Q10 and caffeine.

Rubbing warm coffee grounds on the skin and then covering with a wrap for 20 minutes is another effective cellulite treatment. You just need to shower after that.

A brisk massage with coconut oil is also a good home remedy for cellulite.

Lipodissolve removes cellulite from specific locations with injections of a mixture of compounds.

Endermologie is another clinical treatment which uses rollers to massage the skin.

If you are looking for a treatment for cellulite you must remember that there is no permanent cure, even those given at clinics and spas. With a combination of diet, exercise and some good home remedy you could yourself manage cellulite within reasonable limits. Just remember that you need to be regular with the cellulite treatment to see results.

Getting Smoother Thighs with Revitol Cellulite Cream

Cellulite is a problem faced by all women, even those who are smaller in size. Just look at some of the embarrassing paparazzi photos of celebrities who are size 2 or smaller. And, if you are average-sized or full-figured, cellulite becomes more noticeable because of the increased amount of fat around the thighs and buttocks.

So, what can a woman do to get rid of cellulite? Some automatically think their weight is a problem, so they go to the gym in hopes of exercising the fat away. Well, while exercise is an excellent way to prevent future cellulite from forming, it can’t do anything with your existing cellulite. This is because cellulite consists of bonded fats deep within the skin. Regular exercise cannot breakup these fats, unless your workout is so vigorous it is converting the fat into muscle. And this is not usually possible without dedicating several hours to weight-lifting and other strenuous exercises.

If you cannot exercise that intensely, you could try a Cellulite treatment, but you would probably need several of those to see any results or you could consider another alternative: cellulite cream such as Revitol. What is good about Revitol cellulite cream is that it works quickly, removes toxins that are in your fat cells, helps increase local metabolism so more fat is burned and decreases the size of your fat storage cells.
Most cellulite creams use other ingredients such as caffeine, however Revitol works just as well without it. It also uses a compound called Retinol A which is actually a derivative of Vitamin A. This essential compound conditions and strengthens your skin and connective tissue while it rejuvenates your skin.

In conclusion, Revitol cellulite cream is a good way for treating the infamous “cottage cheese” dimples that virtually every woman gets. This is not to say that you should eliminate diet and exercise from your routine. In fact, these things are still important for preventing cellulite formation in the first place. But if you want to do something for your existing cellulite, cellulite creams are the way to go.

Shameless plug: For more great beauty tips, can I recomend beauty buzz - it's written by a friend of mine, and it has got some really good articles in it. The droop and sag of eyebrows imparts a disgruntled appearance to the face. Brow lift surgery focuses on minimizing the creases, wrinkles and folds along the eye brow region on the face. It also alters the area at the nose bridge and between the eyes. The technique works well on the frown lines that develop with the passage of time. Basically this surgery pulls back the sagged skin to its correct place.

Before carrying out a brow lift surgery, a trained plastic surgeon has to assess several aspects such as:

· Your skin type
· The degree of furrows present in the forehead
· The quantity of skin present in the upper eyelids
· The positioning of the eyebrows
· The hairline location

The most remarkable feature of brow lift surgery is that it bestows a more youthful and fresh look without causing any hair loss and there is also no need to make a number of incisions in the treatment area. A few scars can be seen only in rare cases.
Anyone who wishes to undergo this surgery must not be associated with any existing medical conditions and should be in proper and good health. Irrespective of the reason for undergoing brow lift surgery, you should choose an experienced, trained and qualified plastic surgeon.

Acne and Scars? No Worries!

Of late, have you been ignoring the acne on your face? Have friends or family members tried to helpfully provide medicinal tips to deal with your acne? The wisest thing to do is to diagnose the cause of your acne, because if left untreated it may lead to pitting scars on your face.

Like any disease, many people around the world are affected by this condition. Acne also commonly affects teenagers and people aged 25 to 30 and 80% of the victims are women. Nobody likes to have any scars on their bodies, let alone the face which is the most visible part, and the appearance of acne scars can be quite distressing for those affected. The good news is it can be treated when properly diagnosed and when medication is taken on time as per the dosage prescribed by a GP or dermatologist.

Not all acne leads to scarring, as many would assume. Some people need mild treatment, like avoiding direct sunlight and by taking lots of water, while others may require medical treatment depending on the severity.

Though some opt for alternative medicines, allopathic is one of the most preferred medicines for acne and scars. It is recommended that you consult with your doctor about the potential side effects of any medication before consuming the dosage as some people may be prone to them.

Your diet and food habits can be one of the primary causes for acne. Occasional intake of fried and oily food is fine in moderation but when it becomes a habit your skin starts showing damaging symptoms. It’s a good habit to keep track of your food intake and avoid those foods that your body rejects. Remember - prevention is better than cure.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://glitsyditzy.blogspot.com/2009/01/acne-and-scars-no-worries.html' title='Acne and Scars? Many people turn to an acne treatment such as lotions or cleansers to fight their acne, but there are more natural waysto help. These ways are as simple as changing your diet.

Believe it or not, coffee is a big promoter of acne and should be limited. What coffee does is stimulate the production of cortisol, which is a type of steroid. If you must drink coffee, try to limit it to no more than one to two cups a day. Less if possible. Some herbal teas are a better choice, especially green tea or white tea. Try a cup of these brews instead.

Another method for people with acne prone skin is to keep a well balanced diet. Your diet has major affects on your skin. A good diet which includes eating food rich in antioxidants like fruits and vegetables are very helpful in diminishing the outbreaks of acne and blemishes.

Smokers are at higher risk of having acne. Studies have shown that people who smoke have a higher probability to get acne than non smokers. Avoid smoking if at all possible to help decrease the chances of getting this skin condition.

Another huge promoter of acne is stress. When your body is under stress, it produces hormonal steroids which are known to cause skin problems such as acne prone skin. It is obvious that you cannot avoid all stressful situations, however you can try simple techniques to stay calm during these times like take a few deep breaths or counting to ten. Your skin will thank you for it.

If worse comes to worse and these natural acne preventers are not working, then chances are you will need to find a reliable acne treatment. This is where acne fighting cleansers and lotions will come in handy. They have a daily skin care regimen that you can follow to prevent and cure acne blemishes. You can use these treatments along with the natural methods above to ensure soft, smooth skin.

The Why And How Of Tummy Tucks (abdominoplasty)

We live in a fast moving world that demands immediate attention to one’s problems and speedier gratification of woes. And personal gratification abounds especially in areas that concern one’s personality. Thus, it is no wonder that men and women crave for beauty more than life itself and having an enviable body is what every person, young or old, dreams of having. Among the myriad of beauty enhancing tips and medications, the tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, redresses the need for quick and easy flattening of one’s tummy by surgery.
What is not possible immediately by exercise or weight control is now suddenly made possible by something known as the tummy tuck surgery.

A tummy tuck surgery removes excess fat and skin and also restores those muscles that are weakened or separated. These are usually caused by pregnancy, aging, significant fluctuations in weight, heredity and past surgeries. The operation by itself lasts between 2 to 5 hours while recovery is usually within 2 to 4 weeks depending upon the individual. Strenuous activities can be undertaken only after 4 to 6 weeks and fading and flattening of the scars require about 3 months to 2 years.

There may be side effects like temporary pain, bruising, swelling, soreness or numbness and may last up to several weeks or several months. It is however, technically perfect and long lasting. Yet there is a note of caution here. After a tummy tuck surgery a person should be wary of any major fluctuations in body weight. This could negate any benefits experienced after the surgery.

In spite of all the advantages of tummy tuck surgery, a great deal of risk is also associated with it. Factors like blood clots, infections, poor healing and skin loss could become aggravated depending upon the individual. A poor post surgical performance can even lead to a second surgery. Again, it is not a real substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program and is only a short cut to a flat stomach.

Slim 10 : The Answer To Effective Weight Loss

Weight loss is probably one of the most talked about topics these days, simply because there are so many trying to lose weight and so many more offering to help them do just that. There could be various reasons for the dry skin problems, from the diet taken, hereditary problems, dehydration, climatic changes, and many more. The skin gets dehydrated very quickly and after washing tends to tighten up. Here are a few things you can do to treat your dry skin and have beautiful looking skin

Quit using tap water to wash your face at it does more damage by making our skin drier due to the deposits in them. Making use of mineral water under such circumstances is the best possible solution after which the entire skin should be carefully and gently patted dry with a soft towel or cloth.

The combination of hard water and harsh soaps are very detrimental for anyone with dry skin problems, as they seem to remove the little amount of sebum and moistness present on the skin’s surface. Using moisturizers allows you to replenish the skin pores with the water, whereas the natural oils present protect the outer surface.

Regular moisturizing and massaging of the skin may do it some good by stimulating the glands and keeping the skin supple. Generous amount of cleansing with oily products will help the skin to get replenished with the sustenance that it had been craving for.
It would be a good idea to apply baby oil on your skin before moving into the shower, as it is the best kind of help for an individual serious about dry skin care.

It is necessary to moisturize your skin twice daily, so that the skin gets lesser chance to dry out.

There are several different dry skin care methods and products around so it is up to you to choose the best among these solutions that is right for you. Whatever products you choose must be selected carefully and their use stopped immediately if any side effects are noticed.

Bare Minerals Makeup (fine for acne prone skin)

I have been using the Bare Minerals makeup system for several years now. I could not ask for a better product that suits me! It is a very light makeup that feels light on your face but just adds an overall glow and accent to you. My favorite aspect of it is that it takes me all of five minutes to put on. Plus, there is no intricate application– a brush here, a brush there, and you are absolutely glowing.

The only disadvantage I would list about this product is it can be a bit pricey if you have not been a big makeup wearer in the past. Personally, I used to get whatever was on sale at Walgreens and wear that. However, for the investment, you get a full kit that looks better and feels better than any of those stores have.

The BareMinerals base foundation includes SPF 15 and is supported by the Skin Cancer Institute. The Mineral Veil is the finishing product that just makes you look “glowy” and warm. With my old makeup, if I was in a hurry, it always looked like I was putting it on sloppy. With the BareMinerals kit, even a hurried brush looks pretty darn good, if I must say so myself. It just makes me light up!

This may sound silly to some of you child-less people out there, but this stuff is completely non-toxic. Alright, my kids are a bit adventurous and like to put on mommy’s makeup sometimes. Well, when it is ALL OVER their face, I am not really concerned about their safety because the BareMinerals set is all natural ingredients. It sticks true to its namesake but keeping minerals in the ingredient list and nothing else.

Even though I am getting older, I have acne prone skin. I tend to have acne breakouts once or twice a month. The Bare Minerals set does come with a concealer that blends the redness, so the puffy redness is not noticeable. With most concealers, there is a “heaviness” problem in that it feels like you are wearing a brick on your face. The concealer, like the foundation, is light as air.

Quick thanks

Hey guys, this is a shout out to everyone at Hygeia Beauty -
http://www.hygeiabeauty.com World class LASIK, dental care & cosmetic surgery packages to Thailand.

Great work guys!

Skin Care

I am one of those unlucky people who suffer from dry skin. This, in fact, is a problem I've had from a very early age. When I was young, I suffered from Eczema, which caused both myself, and my parents, a lot of concern - it was a daily regiment of ointments and bathing in special solutions. I won't go into any horrible details but, needless to say, it was far from pleasant. Nowadays, I'm happy to say, this condition has all but disappeared. The after-effect of this, however, means that most of the time I get very dry skin.

A friend of mine with similar problems, has been using dermatitis treatment with Gloves in a Bottle, and supplementing it with Skin MD Natural shielding lotion. They've reported back great results, so that's something I'm definately going to have to look in to.

Exercise/Massage your Face for a more Youthful Look!

When you’re engaged in your daily facial skincare routine, you might like to consider adding a little bit of exercise to the process. Whether you call it facial yoga or facial exercises, you should find that spending the small amount of additional time it takes to complete these does help to tone up the muscles in your face, and so help you in a crusade to maintain a youthful appearance.

The exercises only take a few minutes and they are quite simple to complete. Some of the exercise involve you using your hands/thumbs to stretch the skin – for example sliding your thumbs between the corners of your eyes and your temples (eyes closed of course) to aid in your fight against lines created by crow’s feet, or by shaping your mouth in various poses – such as making an exaggerated kiss or pout to make the muscles work and so tone them up. There are websites and books that you can look at to see how to do these simple exercises, or if you have a regular facial from a beautician you could ask them to show you any exercises that they think might help with any specific areas you are concerned about.

Although there are mixed opinions as to whether or not these exercises do benefit the skin, if you use a moisturizer at the same time (no skin on your body should be dragged so the cream or lotion will help your hands glide across your face so you can gently stretch it) you are not only doing the exercises, but as you work the exercises, you will work the moisturizer deeper into the skin and so it will hydrate the skin making it plumper.

Whether or not you believe the exercises will work, you will find that they do mean you are giving yourself a mini facial massage, and this has the added benefit of relaxing you. The massage stimulates the facial blood vessels and relaxes the muscles so that it improves the skin’s elasticity. This should help you keep any wrinkles or lines at a distance, or improve the appearance of any you already have. Use an aromatherapy moisturizer for an even more relaxing experience as you exercise and massage your way to younger looking skin.

This entry was submitted by Dan Sciarra. Creams, diet, changing the very lifestyle you lead is exteem but proven to work. If you however are in a business enviroment where you your time is limited but you have a little more money to spend, you might want to think about having anti aging treatmets, such as botox injections or perlane or restylane. While these are more expensive than creams or exercise (which is free) it certainly takes the hard work out of looking young.
I found an interesting video of about it on you tube, I'll add it below for any of you readers who might consider this as an option.

Effect of Stress on Skin

Stress is a necessary evil of everyone’s life. All of us have to bear stress at one time or other of our’s life. Whether you're stressed about your job, a family member's health, a crumbling marriage or your first child going off to college, stress has a sneaky way of showing up on your face and skin. Think of it as your body's way of communicating what's going on inside to the outside world. There's even a name for it: psychodermatology.

Studies find that stress triggers 62 percent of psoriasis episodes (an inflammatory skin condition), with flares occurring within days of the emotional upset. Most hyperhidrosis episodes (in which you sweat excessively) are related to stress, and 94 percent of episodes in women with rosacea—a skin condition marked by excessive redness and bumps on the face—have an emotional trigger. Thus, you can see the very strong mind/body connection that exists between our emotions and our skin health. The connection is probably related to the immune system and the way it reacts to stress. Short bursts of stress—like those from a good workout—can improve your skin. But, when you're exposed to chronic stress—stress that just won't stop—or a lot of stress all at once, your immune system can get overloaded. The result? Negative effects on your skin. So it's important you learn to recognize the stressors in your life and modify your reactions to them. Relaxation techniques, biofeedback and breathing training can help you cope better with life stresses and reduce their effects on your skin.

This entry was written by Benjamin Griffis.
