This summer, beginning Monday, June 29, Radio Disney will have free concerts at the fabulous Morey's Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey. What family wouldn't have fun at these concerts? I have been incredibly busy and without a computer!

We seemed to have invited an unwanted trojan horse into our computer system and it was completely awful. I finally got my computer back Wednesday night, but still haven't found the time to sit down and blog.

I'm sorry for my absense. I'm even more sad because my computer was wiped out.

At least I have it back and can see all these great deals I'm missing.

I'll be gone all weekend. Gee.....does it ever slow down??

Monthly Grocery Budget

I've been really slack about getting my grocery monthly totals posted here.

I can totally blame it on being busy.

OR, I can blame it on going over my budget!

UGH!

As you can see by my right side bar, in January I was almost $60 over budget.
The month of February was better and I was about $9 under budget, I'll take it!

I think I did better in February because I only bought what I needed. I didn't focus on buying extras nearly as much and trying to build my stockpile.

I pray that March will be even a better month for me!

Menu Plan Monday

I have officially rejoined SparkPeople. I am trying to get back on track with my weight loss journey. I want to do this to be more healthy. I don't like feeling *blah*. When I fix something for dinner that I do not want to eat, such as homemade pizza, I usually will have a can of Progresso soup. I really like that their soup is labeled Weight Watchers, zero points! I also love cabbage soup. Yes, maybe that's weird, but I've always loved veggie soup! I can make a pot of that on Monday and it can last me the entire week. It's packed with so much fiber, (I use V8 with high fiber) vitamins and minerals. I also love raw veggies and dip. I make a homemade creamy dip that is literally fat free, from cashews! All my kids love this. We are eating more salads, too. I love that Publix has had their salad mix on sale for $0.99 for about a month now!

Monday - Taco salad (I'll have soup)

Tuesday - Oat patties (these are vegan, very yummy, low calorie and low fat)

Wednesday - Spaghetti bake (I'll have soup or left over patties)

Thursday - Tostadas with homemade refried beans (I'll have soup & raw veggies)

Friday - Crockpot Potato Cheese Soup (salad, veggies and soup)

Yes, as you can see, I'll eat a lot of soup. I love it though! I don't get tired of it! For snacks, I love homemade granola with yogurt. A friend from our homeschool group gave us a great crockpot recipe and it is delicious! My kids love this, too!

Target & Publix - a few good deals

I haven't posted pictures of my deals lately, so I thought I would do that.

I was able to grab everything in the above the two pictures for $14.46 last week @ Publix.
The juice, fruit bowls, toaster strudels, pasta sauce and Rotel tomatoes were BOGO.
The paper towels were the mystery penny item.

Today, I stopped by Target and grabbed these items for $2.45 OOP. The soap was free and I had $2/1 Q's for the granola bars.

Saving Money Everywhere We Can

With the drastic inflation lately, we are trying to save money in every avenue of our life. This week, our older vehicle has decided to act up and give us a few problems. Of course, my husband has decided to buy the car parts himself and try to fix it. It's not a major problem, so I have no problem with him doing this and it will save us quite a bit of money.
