After the debate, Nabeel, Mary Jo, and I went to the Dearborn Arab Festival, which had already become an open celebration of persecution against Christians. The festival organizers had declared that Christians could not distribute materials on the public sidewalks or street, and, when the matter was brought before the courts, the judge agreed that Christians could not freely distribute information during the festival. (Note: This decision has been defended in the media by claiming that the “no-distributing-materials” rule applied to everyone, and therefore wasn’t unfair to Christians. However, anyone who was at the festival knows that this is not true. People were walking up and down the sidewalks distributing pamphlets and brochures, right in front of security. The rule was only enforced against Christians, and therefore only the rights of Christians were violated.)<br /><br />Muslim security guards (one of whom had “Hezbollah” tattooed down his forearm) took things a step further and wouldn’t even allow Christians to talk about their beliefs openly. Security guards also repeatedly entrapped Christians in an attempt to get us to violate the court order. <a href="http://www.answeringmuslims.com/2009/07/special-report-sharia-comes-to-dearborn.html" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://www.answeringmuslims.com/2009/07/special-report-sharia-comes-to-dearborn.html" target="_blank">Answering Muslims</a><br /><br /><br /><center><b>Arab Festival Rent-a-Cops<br />Latest recipients of the Evil Dumbass Award</b><br /><br /><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/EDA.gif" alt="Evil Dumbass Award" border="0" /></center><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-190px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-8640741287845310088?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Muslims Against Shariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04035382189817224075noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-6116785938989298102009-07-09T21:25:00.002+02:002009-07-09T21:29:59.486+02:00"Mainstream" Islamist Convention Features Hate Speech<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:3px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/hp_2_large-25.jpg" alt="ISNA" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify">A top aide to President Barack Obama provided a keynote address at last weekend's 46<sup>th</sup> Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) national convention, a gathering that attracted thousands of people and also featured anti-Semitic, homophobic rhetoric and defense of the terrorist group Hezbollah.<br /><br />In her remarks, Senior Advisor for Public Engagement and International Affairs Valerie Jarrett noted she was the first White House official to address ISNA. Democracy is when a woman can talk about her lover without being killed. - Saud M. El Sabah<br />I intend to contribute to the debate surrounding honour killings as an activist and writer engaged in issues affecting women in the Middle East and in societies under influence of Islam. I shall examine the legal, social, religious and tribal dimensions of honour killing and will discuss the issue as it stands in the region, in the West and among intellectuals and the academic world. I will conclude my talk with my analysis of what needs to be done.<br />Is honour killing tribal? Is it Islamic? Is there any justification for violence against women in the religion of Islam? What is the role of religion in honour killing? Can we explain honour killing within the general framework of domestic violence against women? Is honour killing a form of universal patriarchy?<br />Hundreds of women get shot, burned, strangled, stoned, poisoned, beheaded or stabbed every year in Muslim inhabited countries because their male relatives believe their actions have soiled the family name. They die so that family honour may be preserved. According to tribal and religious culture a woman is a man's possession and a reflection of his honour. It is the man's honour that gets tarnished if a woman is 'loose'. Being killed deliberately and brutally is, in fact, a price that victims pay for attempting to practice their minimal human rights.<br />It takes far less than a pre or extramarital relationship for a woman to be condemned as dishonourable and deserving of death. There is no 'typical' case one can speak of: 'honour crimes' can include a husband killing his wife for leaving the house too often, a son killing his mother to prevent her from remarrying, a brother killing his sister and her husband for marrying without the family's consent, a man killing his wife for refusing to wear the veil when leaving home. Reputation and rumour play an active role in instigating honour crimes and the killing of women. This phenomenon is comparable to the emphasis on the chastity of wives in Victorian morality. Because the concepts of male honour and female subservience are deeply ingrained in Islam and in tribal culture, honour killings have become commonplace in Arab and Middle Eastern countries, in other Muslim inhabited countries and Muslim immigrant communities in the West.<br />The available statistics in honour killings show just the tip of an iceberg. The reality is far darker. The statistics do not show the number of female suicides provoked, or engineered to cover up an honour killing, nor the number of mysterious disappearances. Many honour killings never get reported or registered. Many are mislabeled.<br />In Egypt between 1998 - 2001 suspicion of 'indecent' behavior was the reason behind 79 per cent of all crimes of honour. The women were killed just because of rumours or suspicions that they may have crossed the line. The UN statistics for 1997 show: Yemen 400, Pakistan over 1000, Egypt 52, and Jordan 25 -35. The UN also reported that as many as 5000 women and girls worldwide were killed last year by family members, majority of them for the 'dishonour'. </p><p>Read all here: <a href="http://islam-watch.org/Azam_Kamguian/Lethal-Tribalism-Islam-Cultural-Relativism.htm">http://islam-watch.org/Azam_Kamguian/Lethal-Tribalism-Islam-Cultural-Relativism.htm</a></p><p><strong>What is to be done</strong></p><p>A society ruled by a misogynist tribal and Islamic laws and values permits the killing of women. Honour killing is a reflection of ancient patriarchy embracing Islamic misogyny and ancient tribal values. In the West, in collaboration with cultural relativism, it has created a deadly mix that has brutally victimised many young girls and women.<br />Honour killing, which contradicts many basic human rights and values, is clearly connected to the subordination of women. The prevailing culture of discrimination and misogyny in Islamic religion and society will not change without the implementing a comprehensive and radical socio-political and legal changes in the situation of women.<br />The civil rights of Arab citizens generally depend on their status, class, tribal affiliation and proximity to the regimes. This altogether discriminatory culture strongly affects women. It is not easy to dislodge let alone eliminate honour killing and other forms of violence in the absence of a radical transformation of the unequal social and economic order.<br />The only effective strategy to abolish honour killings is to safeguard and advance women's rights and status; by fighting against Islamic, patriarchal and tribal traditions; by separating religion from the state; and by forming secular and egalitarian governments in the region. Then, when equality before the law, civil rights, human rights, justice, freedom are achieved and safeguarded for all citizens regardless of their gender, class or race, women will benefit by extension. The struggle against honour killing is inseparable from the struggle for women's civil liberties, for the separation of Islam from the State, the struggle against political Islam and Islamic States in the region. All restrictive and backward cultural and moral codes and customs that hinder and restrict women's freedom and independence as equal citizens must be abolished. Severe penalties must be imposed for the abuse, intimidation, restriction of freedom, degradation and violent treatment of women and girls.<br />These are the tasks of women's liberation movement along with the progressive and egalitarian movements in the region as well as in the West.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-7488561575817841963?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>FFFFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493089120606389286noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-57279492549693156452009-07-09T21:14:00.003+02:002009-07-09T21:23:03.940+02:00Pakistan Prez admits: Pakistan created and nurtured jihad terrorists<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:6px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/PakistanSGH.gif" alt="Pakistan" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify">ISLAMABAD: For the first time, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has admitted that militants and extremists were "created and nurtured" in the country as a policy to achieve some short-term tactical objectives.<br /><br />But they began to haunt the country in the post-9/11 era, Zardari said in a candid admission during an interactive meeting with former senior civil servants at the presidency last night.<br /><br />Militants and extremists emerged on the national scene and challenged the state not because the civil bureaucracy was weakened and demoralised, but because they "were deliberately created and nurtured as a policy to achieve some short-term tactical objectives," he said.<br /><br />"Let us be truthful to ourselves and make a candid admission of the realities," Zardari said. <a href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Pakistan-created-and-nurtured-terrorists-admits-Zardari/articleshow/4752953.cms" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Pakistan-created-and-nurtured-terrorists-admits-Zardari/articleshow/4752953.cms" target="_blank">The Times of India</a><br />H/T: <a href="http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/026872.php" target="_blank">Jihad Watch</a><br /><br /><center><b>President Zardari<br />Latest recipients of The MASH Award</b><br /><br /><img src="http://www.reformislam.org/images/MASH_Award.gif" alt="MASH Award" border="0" /></center><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-190px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-5727949254969315645?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Muslims Against Shariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07277388694180781843noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-731263386129898382009-07-09T20:48:00.004+02:002009-07-09T20:52:19.231+02:00"Jihad" junked for jargon<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:42px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/Osama-bin-Laden.gif" alt="Lexicon" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify">By Richard Ackland<br /><br />Don't you just love it when things are "rolled out"? Supermarket unit pricing is rolled out; new radar system for the boys in Afghanistan is rolled out; Nokia rolls out an Apple apps store.<br /><br />The latest rollout was announced this week by the Attorney-General, Robert McClelland. It's a "national roll-out of a project to promote the consistent use of language in engaging with communities on national security issues". It's branded as the "Lexicon on Terrorism".<br /><br />It's not quite roll out the barrel, but it's still going to be a lot of fun. The first thing the project should examine is the use of the words "roll-out" and while they're at it "going forward" also needs some attention.<br /><br />Mr McClelland's announcement was necessarily fuzzy. "We need to use language that does not inadvertently glorify terrorism but rather describes it in terms of base criminal behaviour of the most reprehensible kind." Inappropriate use of language in a terrorism context can lead to "misunderstanding".<br /><br />Fortunately, work on the project is being led by one of the most culturally sensitive organisations in the country, the Victoria Police, in partnership with the Victorian Premier's Department, the Australian Multicultural Foundation and the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department. <a href="http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/026878.php" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/opinion/junk-the-jihad-its-jargon-we-need-20090709-dejt.html" target="_blank">Brisbane Times</a><br />H/T: <a href="http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/026878.php" target="_blank">Jihad Watch</a><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-50px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-73126338612989838?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Muslims Against Shariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07277388694180781843noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-8473511564886118292009-07-09T18:40:00.006+02:002009-07-09T21:31:57.279+02:00T. Hamid (Egyptian) & A. Kamguian (Iranian): why "Islam is NOT the Solution"<div style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 6px -1px -4px 15px"><center><small></small></center></div><p><strong>The lessons that Muslims must learn from the Iranian model: Islam is NOT the solution<br /></strong>Thursday, June 25, 2009 - posted by <a title="Visit Dr. Tawfik Hamid’s website" href="http://www.tawfikhamid.com/" rel="external">Dr. Tawfik Hamid</a><br /><br />For decades the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliated Islamic groups such as Hamas used the expression “Islam is the solution” as their slogan. They used it in a way to convince Muslims that Islam will bring solutions to all their problems. Many young Muslims became attracted to Islamism because they believed that using Islam in politics and implementing Sharia would bring a solution to the problems they face in their societies. The economic success of Saudi Arabia, which implements Sharia Law, and the success of early Muslims in building a huge powerful Islamic empire, were two powerful examples that attracted many of our young Muslims, myself included, to this “Islamic Solution”. Failure of many Islamic societies to succeed in several fields, including economic state, has fueled the feeling that adopting the Islamic solution is the only answer for our problems.<br />The Iranian Revolution was seen by many Muslims as a proof that Islam is the solution. On the contrary, the failure of the Iranian regime in bringing prosperity to its people can debunk this concept. The recent demonstrations against the Iranian regime are clear evidence that Islam is NOT the solution, as the government has not brought success and true justice to its people. not having brought success and true justice to its people.<br />The Muslim world also needs to look to other failures of the Islamic systems and regimes. Sharia laws have been implemented in Sudan, parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan, parts of Nigeria, and in Somalia. This has not brought wealth and prosperity to people as many Muslims expected. On the contrary it has brought poverty and misery to their populations. The best evidence for this is that we see tens of thousands of young Muslims applying to immigrate the West but we do not see many of them trying to immigrate to Somalia or Taliban-controlled areas!<br />The Muslim world must face the reality that Islamic and Sharia-based solutions for countries have failed to bring prosperity to people in most parts where they have been implemented. The media has a role to play in showing the failure of many Islamic systems in several parts of the world. The Muslim world must wake up from its dream that applying Sharia will solve all their problems and recognize the reality that “Islam is NOT the Solution”.</p><p>Source: <a onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.TawfikHamid.com');" href="http://www.tawfikhamid.com/">http://www.tawfikhamid.com/</a> </p><p><strong>The Silent Holocaust: Why Humanity Must Achieve Victory over Islam<br /></strong>by Azam Kamguian</p><p>What I am going to talk about is Islam; contemporary Islam in Iran. I will describe some episodes of Islamic carnage and pass you briefly through what happened and still is happening in Iran. I will talk about those who have nurtured Islamic movements or have tried to justify Islam. I will conclude by emphasizing the urgency of achieving the victory of humanity over Islam and the practical steps that should be taken to achieve this.<br />The final decades of the 20th century witnessed another Holocaust - an Islamic one, in which millions have been and continue to be shot, decapitated and stoned to death; in which people have been slaughtered and displaced by Islamic states, political Islamic movements and Islamic terrorists in Iran, the Sudan, Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, Central Asia, and now in America. The robe, turban and Koran continue to victimize people. Any voice of dissent or freedom has been silenced on the spot. The oppression maintained by Islamic movements primarily takes the form of opposition to the freedom of women, by crushing women's civil liberties, by curtailing freedom of expression in the cultural and personal domains, by enforcing brutal laws and traditions, and by the mass killing of people from young children to the elderly.<br />Essentially, Islam is a set of beliefs and rules that militate against human prosperity, happiness, welfare, freedom, equality and knowledge. Islam and a full human life are contradictory concepts, opposed to each other. Islam under any kind of interpretation is and always has been a strong force against secularism, modernism, egalitarianism and women's rights. Political Islam, however, is a political movement that has come to the fore against secular and progressive movements for liberation, and against cultural and intellectual advances. Violence and disregard for human dignity are inherent in the manifestos of political Islamic groups.<br /><strong>“The very statement that an Islamic republic exists somewhere means that brutal violence exists within it.”</strong><br />After political Islam took power in Iran, creating an Islamic Republic, this movement came out of the margins in other Middle Eastern countries. It was in Iran that political Islam first organised itself into a government and thus turned into a considerable force in the region. In Iran, under an Islamic state, violence has had another dimension: one that is based on Islam. The very statement that an Islamic Republic exists somewhere means that brutal violence exists in it. The mere fact that people are forced to abide by laws based on something some god is believed to have said somewhere, or that some prophet has said, itself represents a form of violence. If anyone protests against such laws, they are subject to punishment and suppression. Islam means the worst and the most ferocious kind of violence. Iran is the most transparent picture of what Islam is capable of. I will try to pass you briefly through this period of violence, atrocities, and misogyny - a bloodbath committed by Islam in power.<br />In Iran, I lived through thousands of days when Islam shed blood. Since 1979, a hundred thousand men, women and children have been executed in the name of Allah. I have lived through days when I, along with thousands of men and women throughout the country, looked for the names of our lovers, husbands, wives, friends, daughters, sons, colleagues and students in newspapers which daily announced the names of the executed. Days when the soldiers of Allah attacked bookstores and publishing houses and burned books. Days of armed attacks on universities, killing students all over the country. Weeks and months of bloody attacks on workers' strikes and demonstrations. Years of assassination of opponents inside and outside Iran. Years of suppression and brutal murder of atheists, freethinkers, socialists, trade union leaders and activists, Marxists, Bahais, women who resisted the misery of hijab and the rule of sexual apartheid, and many others who were none of these, who were arrested in the streets and then executed simply because of their innocent non-Islamic appearance. And to the hundred thousand murdered in Iran must be added the millions who have died in Algeria, the Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere. A silent holocaust about which the civilised world does nothing.<br />I, along with thousands of political prisoners, was tortured by order of the representative of Allah and Sharia; tortured, while the verses of the Koran about nonbelievers were played in the torture chambers. The voice reading the Koran was mixed with our cries of pain from lashes and other brutal forms of torture. They raped women political prisoners for the sake of Allah and in expectation of his reward. They prayed before raping them. Thousands were shot to death by execution squads while Koranic verses were recited. Prisoners were awakened every day at dawn to the sound of gunshots aimed at their friends and cellmates. From the numbers of shots you could work out how many had been murdered that day. The killing machine did not stop for a minute. The fathers and mothers, husbands and wives who received the bloody clothes of their loved ones had to pay for the bullets. They created an Islamic Auschwitz. Many of the best, the most passionate and progressive people were massacred. The dimensions of the horror are beyond imagining.<br />From that time, love, happiness, smiling, any free human interaction was forbidden. Islam took over completely. This is what happened to my generation. But it was not limited only to my generation, It had bloody consequences for our parents’ generation and for the next generation. During those years, millions of children were brainwashed and manipulated. The crimes committed by the Islamic Republic of Iran and political Islam in the region are comparable to the crimes committed by Fascism in the 1930s and early 1940s, and to the genocide in Rwanda and Indonesia.<br />Yet these are events that humanity around the world has been largely unaware of. A Holocaust which, if humanity knew of its dimensions and intensity, would certainly cause it to weep. With the downfall of such regimes, the world will finally be given an opportunity to know the truth - victims will speak out, prisons and torture chambers will be exposed, torturers will make heart-wrenching confessions, Islamic prosecutors and judges will reveal what they did to their victims behind prison walls. Then people all over the world will see what a despicable phenomenon Islam is. They will finally find out the truth about those governments that backed the Islamic movements and the Western mainstream media that deliberately blocked people's access to the truth.<br />The aftermath of September 11 exposed some of the reality of what is happening to people living under the constant terror of Islam. It exposed something of the tragedy that befell women under the Taliban. It revealed, to some extent, the true substance of Islam. But it became plain to see that this carnage is Islamic. It became evident that it is all about Islam.<br />When I came to the West in the beginning of the 1990s, I was faced by the fact that the majority of intellectuals, the mainstream media, the academic world, and many feminists, in the name of respecting other cultures and religions, were trying to justify Islam by dividing it into fundamentalist and moderate, progressive and reactionary, Medina's and Mecca's, folksy and non-folksy, poisonous and edible. For people like me, first-hand victims of the Islamic Holocaust, it was suffocating to listen to and to have to refute endless tales to justify this terror, atrocity and misogyny. Parallel to this Islamic carnage, apologists for Islam try to divert people's righteous loathing for Islam and for the political Islamic movement, to limit it to a hatred of fundamentalism'. They attempt to reduce the anti-Islamic struggle to anti-fundamentalism. They keep telling us that what we loathe is fundamentalism, not the 'true', the 'real' Islam. They pledge 'reform in Islam' and the application of a 'positive interpretation of the Koran' to women's rights by ‘linguistic turn’. They raise the idea of Islamic feminism and try to attach a human face to the monstrous face of Islam against women.<br /><strong>“The rights of freedom of expression, equality of men and women, and a secular state apply to people in the 'Third World' too. Isn't it shameful that we have to argue about it?”</strong><br />The truth should be spoken. We shouldn't let apologists for Islam play with people's lives any more. We should say clearly and loudly that it is all about Islam. What we have seen is the reality of Islam in power. The fact is that Western liberal and left-wing intellectuals feel guilty about past colonial history and are apologetic to the ‘Third World’. They consider the 'Third World' a given entity, where people are keen to suffer under the rotten rules of Islam, where people are happy to be deprived of the achievements of human civilization in the 21st century. According to them, women desire sexual apartheid, girls love to be segregated from boys, and people hate civil rights and individual freedom. In their view, people are the allies of Islamic movements and Islamic governments. This is indeed a distorted image of the realities. This is an inverted colonialism. In this picture, people who are fighting for civil rights, secularism and against political Islam do not exist. This self-centered mentality in which everything should revolve around the guilt of Western pseudo-intellectuals is appalling. The rights of freedom of expression, equality of men and women, and a secular state apply to people in the 'Third World' too. Isn't it shameful that we have to argue about it?<br />Contrary to this view, there is a fight going on - and it has been going on for over 20 years - between progressive movements in the Middle East and in the West on the one side, and political Islam on the other. The records of the daily struggle of people and the non-Islamic opposition in Islam-ridden countries, and the news of the daily resistance of the youth and women in Iran, demonstrate the reality of peoples' demands in the 'Third World'. Since 1979, Iranian society has changed dramatically and deeply. The movement for secularism and atheism, for modern ideas and culture, for individual freedom, for women's liberation and civil liberties has been widespread and deep. Disgust for religion and the backward culture of those in power is immense.<br />Secularism must be defended actively and resolutely in Islam - ridden countries. Universal human and civil rights must be the standard. Secularism is not only realizable, but also, after the experiences of Iran, Afghanistan, the Sudan and Algeria, is an urgent and pressing need and demand of the people of the region. The demand for secularism must push for absolute and complete separation of religion from the State; complete separation of religion from education; freedom of religion and atheism; laws free of religious content; and for religion to be declared the private affair of individuals. A conscious struggle must be conducted against the power of organised religion. All religious denominations and sects should be officially registered as private enterprises, subject to regulations and laws.<br />To realise these ideals and demands, we need a massive joint force. Despite the struggles of the non-Islamic opposition in the Middle East and in the West in the past decades, all that has been visible has been occasional reports of the barbarity of political Islam and the reactions of Western governments, media and 'intellectual' apologists for Islam. But, there is a third force, a sleeping giant who can turn the situation around. If this giant awakes, this era could see the beginning of positive changes and the realisation of ideals that were almost abandoned during the final decades of the 20th century. Humanity must rise up and defend itself against the barbarity of Islam.<br />The ranks of civilised humanity form a massive force that has, so far, sadly been silenced. It can come to the fore. For the future of humanity, it must come to the fore. If there is to be a future, it is in the formation of an active, progressive and freedom-loving policy at the forefront of the ranks of the people. Otherwise, the stage is left open to terrorism and barbarism. I finish my speech with the hope that in the coming years of the 21st century, we will witness the victory of humanity, of humanism, over Islam. All freedom-lovers and secularist forces around the world should come together in a joint effort to combat political Islam; to promote secularism, egalitarianism and freedom, in the societies that Islam oppresses.<br />Adapted from the speech delivered at the session on Humanism and Islam at the IHEU World Congress 2002. Last month, Asma’a quit her job at Al Ayaam because her subject matter got her into “trouble” at work. She is also the journalist who was arrested over the weekend by Hamas’s “morality” police, ostensibly for “laughing immoderately” and for “immodest” clothing at the beach.<br /><br />The beach!<br /><br />Asma’a, the 27 year-old mother of a four year-old son, was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. She went into the water fully clothed. Apparently, that was not modest enough for them.<br /><br />According to Asma’a, with whom I just spoke, the Palestinian police detained her and took her passport away. They also beat up four male friends: two right there on the beach, all four back in police custody. (One of these men was not sitting with them at the time but came to their aid when the police attacked them). Due to the intercession of a journalist-friend with whom the beach goers were visiting, the police let Asma’a go—but with a warning; they told her “they would be following her case.” The police also returned Asma’a’s passport to her. In addition, the police wanted to confiscate her laptop but luckily, they were unable to find it. <a href="http://pajamasmedia.com/phyllischesler/2009/07/08/palestinian-taliban-arrest-palestinian-feminist-government-promises-investigation/" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://pajamasmedia.com/phyllischesler/2009/07/08/palestinian-taliban-arrest-palestinian-feminist-government-promises-investigation/" target="_blank">PJM</a><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-50px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-356183700315648903?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Muslims Against Shariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04035382189817224075noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-32622510676683555812009-07-09T09:56:00.003+02:002009-07-09T10:02:08.766+02:00Jimmy Carter Gets His Wish: Hezbollah Has Anti-Aircraft Missiles<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:6px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_qbT9lfmNQI0/Se7VhqEpJEI/AAAAAAAAB8E/AN7QyA6oK3Q/s800/lebanon08.jpg" alt="Hizballah" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify">Remember how Jimmy Carter was horrified at Hezbollah's lack of anti-aircraft missiles?<br /><blockquote>The Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist organization lacks missiles to "defend" itself from Israeli aircraft, former President Jimmy Carter claimed upon returning from a trip last week to Lebanon. "The general showed us a graph of the many flights of Israeli planes over all parts of Lebanon, averaging about a dozen each day. Neither Hezbollah nor the Lebanese Armed Forces have any anti-aircraft weapons for defense," wrote Carter in a first-person report posted on his Carter Center website... "At one site near the border, two different Israeli tanks came about 70 yards from us to observe our group," Carter wrote, before claiming Hezbollah lacks anti-aircraft weapons for "defense" against Israeli over flights.</blockquote>He can apparently rest easy:<br /><blockquote>Hezbollah said it has a right to acquire and use antiaircraft weaponry against Israeli warplanes, in a ceremony commemorating assassinated leaders of the Lebanese Shiite Muslim militant group. "We have the right to possess any weapons including air defense arms, and we have all the right to use these arms if we wished to," Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah said to crowds in the southern suburb of Beirut, which is the group's stronghold. Nasrallah did not confirm or deny whether the group had acquired antiaircarft missiles but said that Hezbollah has built its successes on the "basis of surprises."</blockquote>Elder has a different translation of Nasrallah's speech, where "not confirm or deny" appears to be more confirm and less deny.</div><br />Source: <a href="http://www.mererhetoric.com/archives/11275515.html" target="_blank">Mere Rhetoric</a><br /><br /><center><b>Dhimmi Carter<br />Latest recipient of The Dhimmi Award</b><br /><br /><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/TheDhimmiAward.gif" alt="The Dhimmi Award" border="0" /></center><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-190px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-3262251067668355581?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Muslims Against Shariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04035382189817224075noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-65035998047208154582009-07-09T03:34:00.004+02:002009-07-09T08:27:47.740+02:00Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declares new era after 'clean' poll<div class="module article" id="article" style="font-size: 1em;"> <div class="module-subheader"> <p>Correspondents in Tehran | <em class="timestamp">July 09</em></p> <div style="margin: 6px -1px -4px 15px; float: right;"><img alt="Iran" src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/Iran.gif" /> <center></center></div> <div class="module article" id="article" style="font-size: 1em;"> <div class="module-subheader"> <p><strong></strong> </p></div></div></div> <div class="module-content" id="article"> <p class="intro"><strong>IRANIAN President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad yesterday sought to put the turmoil over the disputed presidential elections behind him and declared on national television that the contests were clean, fair and marked the start of a new era.</strong></p> <p>His speech came as the country's top three reformist leaders sought to rekindle their opposition movement, demanding that ruling clerics end the heavy "security atmosphere" imposed after the elections and free those detained in the unrest, according to an opposition website. </p> <p>It was Mr Ahmadinejad's first national speech since the Supreme Leader declared the election results valid despite an outcry from the other candidates and weeks of street protests claiming that the results were fraudulent. </p> <p>"This is a new beginning for Iran ... we have entered a new era," the President said, explaining that the 85 per cent turnout and overwhelming win had given his government a new legitimacy. </p> <p style="font-weight: bold;">"It was the most clean and free election in the world," he said, adding that during the re-count "no fault was discovered. But it follows months of quiet pressure on Gaza's overwhelmingly conservative 1.4 million residents to abide by its strict religious mores.<br /><br />Hamas officials in Gaza have publicly urged shopkeepers to take down foreign advertisements showing the shape of women's bodies and to stash away lingerie often displayed in windows. Will liberals say that they must show “tolerance” and accept this barbarism as a matter of respect for religious values or stand against inhumane laws?</p><p>Question #2: Where can we find sharia books that clearly stand against the above violence? Instead of trying to convince the world that sharia law is peaceful and that it is all a matter of different interpretations, it would be much better if the Liberals asked the leading Islamic scholars to unambiguously declare that stoning women, killing gays, and beheading apostates are unacceptable. </p><p>Question #3: Why do the liberal thinkers try to find justifications for terrorism such as poverty, lack of education, and the historical “feeling of injustice” among Muslims at the hands of the West? The Jews were exposed to some of the worst forms of suffering and torture in human history at the hands of the Nazis yet they have not performed terrorist acts against German civilians. </p><p>Question #4: Muslims in the West enjoy rights as equal citizens. However, Jews in the Muslim world are called pigs and monkeys by leading Islamic scholars, Christians are not allowed easy access to build churches, and the Baha’i community is discriminated against in many parts of the Muslim world. Who should really feel angry? </p><p>Question #5: Why are socioeconomic conditions and political circumstances often used to justify acts of terrorism committed by Muslims? Christians, Buddhists, and Hindus live under the same circumstances and do not instigate such a level of violence. What is the reason for this selectivity?</p><p>Question #6: Why do liberals demonstrate against Israel for killing Palestinian civilians, which is unintentional and happens because Palestinian terrorists hide among the victims, yet do not use their passion to demonstrate against Hamas, who has intentionally killed ‘Palestinian’ civilians? Note: Hamas assassinated three children of their opponent Dahlan who was the head of Intelligence of the Palestinian authority. </p><p>Question #7: The Arab-Israeli conflict is often viewed as a historical source of modern day terrorism, yet how could this possibly explain why Muslims have killed and mutilated the dead bodies of fellow Muslims in areas such as Iraq and Algeria?</p><p>Question #8: If non-Muslims were to begin promoting the idea that “Muslims are pigs and monkeys,” would the liberals stand against this or would they remain silent as they usually do when Muslims call Jews by these names? </p><p>Question #9: If a Muslim decided to follow in the “footsteps” of the Prophet Muhammad by marrying and having sex with a 9 year-old girl, would liberal thinkers stand against this or allow it to happen out of respect for religious freedom? Note: This story is mentioned in Al-Buchary, the most authentic hadith book in the Sunni world, but it is not in the Quran and the age of marriage is different in Sheia books. </p><p>Question #10: How would liberals respond if radical Muslims declared war on them and used the standard sharia rule to offer the three choices of conversion to Islam, paying a humiliating tax called the jizya, or be killed? Would liberals respect these religious values by accepting one of these options OR stand against such barbarism in order to protect human civilization?</p><p>Source: TawfikHamid.com via Lisistrata.com</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-6742087461916034573?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>FFFFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493089120606389286noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-28117536523424662022009-07-08T18:12:00.001+02:002009-07-08T18:14:24.475+02:00The Mullahs' Washington Mouthpiece?<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:42px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://www.jihadwatch.org/MullahsMouthpiece_hh_1.jpg" alt="NIAC" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify">By Robert Spencer <br /><br />“Throughout the recent crisis,” the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) announced last week, “NIAC has been in contact with the White House almost daily to convey the views of our community, and policymakers have been listening.” It “strongly condemned the crackdown” in Iran “and called for new elections as the best way to end the violence.” It has also called upon the mullahs to “immediately release opposition figures, human rights defenders, and all other persons arrested for contesting the election results,” as well as “immediately halt state-sanctioned violence against the Iranian people.”<br /><br />This is all to the good, especially because, as the NIAC itself puts it, “since its inception in 2002, NIAC has grown to become the largest Iranian-American grassroots organization in the country, with supporters in all 50 states.” That the largest Iranian-American advocacy group in the country would stand against the Iranian regime’s repression of the Iranian demonstrations is welcome; however, for all its apparent advocacy of freedom for Iranians, the NIAC has consistently opposed the tough measures that would truly aid genuine fighters for freedom in Iran -- and has also opposed the steps that the United States and the West must take to defend themselves against the increasingly bellicose and brutal Islamic Republic. <a href="http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=32600" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=32600" target="_blank">Human Events</a><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-50px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-2811753652342466202?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Muslims Against Shariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08082036682967454768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-20872276016280745242009-07-08T17:35:00.002+02:002009-07-08T17:59:00.456+02:00War on Islamic Terrorism: Justice Department's Scorecard<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:6px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/can/images/DOJ_clr_sm.gif" alt="DOJ" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-weight:bold;">How is the Justice Department stacking up in its prosecution of Islamic terror cases in New York and across the nation?</span><br /><br />By Jim Kouri, CPP<br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">The following information is based on a recent report circulated by the U.S. Department of Justice to police and law enforcement organizations throughout the United States including the National Association of Chiefs of Police.</span><br /> <br />Not surprisingly, the city of New York has witnessed more arrests and prosecutions of terrorists and their supporters than any other location in the United States. Was it the police or the CPS who decided to stop harassing him? He didn’t say, but I’m glad it’s over.<br />While he was in America, a Good Samaritan gave him a place to live. The Baron was working then, so we donated a small monthly stipend for a while until his situation was such that he was able to work…which depended on his being granted asylum.<br />That avenue was investigated but looked perilous. It might take years for them to process his case, during which time he would be in limbo.<br />If memory serves, it was March 2008 or thereabouts when he decided to return to the UK.<br />I was most upset. My main concern (my only concern, really) was the chance of his being jailed in a prison population full of those who would kill him without thinking about it. But Lionheart’s decision to go home was his to make, though I was sure he wouldn’t survive. He flew back to the UK, leaving a few heavy hearts behind.<br />I am glad that this trial by fear is over. What the police did to him during that year and a half of mental torture with the prospect of jail hanging over him was cruel and unnecessary. Lionheart had been chased out of his home neighborhood by Pakistani drug dealers because he dared to stand up to them, especially on the issue of enslaving young women.<br />On his blog, he described what they’d done to his neighborhood, his home, and his business. As a result of what he wrote, the Pakistani drug thugs filed a complaint against him for racism. It was this complaint for which he was to be “investigated” by the Hate Crimes Unit from Christmas 2007 until this week.<br />I learned a lot while Lionheart was here and after he went home.<br />First and foremost and most unfortunate was my education about the UK police. I heard the tapes of them talking to Lionheart and it was eerie. They had no idea where he was, claiming they thought he was in Scotland. They didn’t seem to care one way or another about his possible fate if he came in to be interrogated.<br />They just kept repeating, in a kind of bored tone, that he needed to present himself in order to be questioned. They refused to grant him safety of any kind. Their conversation with him was so cool, casual, unconcerned. The whole thing was straight out of Kafka.<br />I also learned that real Brits cared what happened to him even if the police and the judicial system didn’t give a fig. When he got home, he was given a place to stay. Legal counsel was obtained. People helped him.<br />Another lesson was a deep understanding of the tenacious bulldog character of the English. Lionheart could not be budged from a position once he’d decided on a course of action. Churchill had nothing on Lionheart when it came to digging in his heels and preparing to stand his ground!<br />Here he is, eighteen months later, having survived his ordeal, still trying to make people pay attention to his original concern about his country:</p><p><em>Freedom of Speech has won, over the politically correct brigade who have tried silencing me, and members from their pet project British Islam who have wanted me prosecuted and silenced from speaking out against them and their religion. Your Help is need!In June 2009 millions of people came out on to the streets of Iran for freedom and an end to the Islamic regime. Whilst the June 12 election was a pretext for the protests - elections have never been free or fair in Iran – it has opened the space for people to come to the fore with their own slogans.<br /><br />The world has been encouraged by the protestors’ bravery and humane demands and horrified by the all-out repression they have faced. It has seen a different image of Iran - one of a population that refuses to kneel even after 30 years of living under Islamic rule. The dawn that this movement heralds for us across the world is a promising one – one that aims to bring Iran into the 21st century and break the back of the political Islamic movement internationally. This is a movement that must be supported. DeclarationWe, the undersigned, join Iran Solidarity to declare our unequivocal solidarity with the people of Iran. We hear their call for freedom and stand with them in opposition to the Islamic regime of Iran.<br /><br />We demand:<br /><br />1. The immediate release of all those imprisoned during the recent protests and all political prisoners<br />2. The arrest and public prosecution of those responsible for the current killings and atrocities and for those committed during the last 30 years<br />3. Proper medical attention to those wounded during the protests and ill-treated and tortured in prison. Information on the status of the dead, wounded and arrested to their families. The wounded and arrested must have access to their family members. Family members must be allowed to bury their loved ones where they choose.<br />4. A ban on torture<br />5. The abolition of the death penalty and stoning<br />6. Unconditional freedom of expression, thought, organisation, demonstration, and strike<br />7. Unconditional freedom of the press and media and an end to restrictions on communications, including the internet, telephone, mobiles and satellite television programmes<br />8. An end to compulsory veiling and gender apartheid<br />9. The abolition of discriminatory laws against women and the establishment of complete equality between men and women<br />10. The complete separation of religion from the state, judiciary, education and religious freedom and atheism as a private matter.<br /><br />Moreover, we call on all governments and international institutions to isolate the Islamic Republic of Iran and break all diplomatic ties with it. We are opposed to military intervention and economic sanctions because of their adverse affects on people’s lives. The people of Iran have spoken; we stand with them.<br /><br />See first Signatures and sign here: <a href="http://www.iransolidarity.org.uk/iscommit/iscom186.php?nr=97158834&amp;lang=en">http://www.iransolidarity.org.uk/iscommit/iscom186.php?nr=97158834&amp;lang=en</a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-9099527075170018099?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>FFFFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493089120606389286noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-74649863925568390462009-07-08T12:58:00.003+02:002009-07-08T13:25:14.352+02:00Aqsa Parvez's Unmarked Grave<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:6px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/stop_honorcide_button.gif" alt="Honorcide" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-weight:bold;">How a sixteen year-old Muslim girl, murdered in an honor killing, continues to be abused by her family in death as she was in life.</span><br /><br />By Jamie Glazov<br /><br />Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Pamela Geller, founder, editor and publisher of the popular and award-winning weblog AtlasShrugs.com. She had been afraid to go home. Her father was enraged because she refused to obey his rules, and he had promised he would kill her.<br /><br />On the morning of December 10, Aqsa waited at a Mississauga bus shelter with a friend she had been staying with. As they waited, Aqsa’s 26-year-old brother Waqas pulled up at the bus stop. He said that she should come home and get a fresh change of clothes if she was going to be staying elsewhere. Aqsa did not want to at first, but then got into his car. Less than an hour later, Muhammad Parvez called 911 and told the dispatcher that he had killed his daughter. <a href="http://frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=35450" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=35450" target="_blank">FPM</a><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-50px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-7464986392556839046?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Liberal American Muslimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05980587842020342346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-38395634061758740592009-07-08T12:00:00.003+02:002009-07-08T12:54:19.223+02:00Freedom BetrayedHow much damage did Obama do to the Iranian revolution?<div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-right:-1px; margin-top:42px; margin-bottom:-4px;"><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/Obama-Islamism.jpg" alt="Obama" /><center><small></small></center></div><div align="justify">By John Ellis <br /><br />How much damage did Barak Obama do to the incipient Iranian revolution—and by extension, to peace in the Middle East and to the U.S. national interest—when he failed to support the Iranian protesters, and instead poured cold water on Moussavi as an alternative to Ahmadinejad? His defenders say, not much, for two reasons. First, sending troops or guns was out of the question, and without that mere words were not going to make much of a difference. And second, Obama later corrected himself, and issued a statement which (though he denied it) changed his position to one of support. They could not be more wrong on both counts. The damage Obama did was enormous, and his self-correction did nothing whatever to repair that damage. <br /><br />In the last thirty years we have seen many revolutions around the world in which people took to the streets in large numbers and were faced there by a much smaller number who were heavily armed. What we have learned from these situations it is that one factor matters more than any other: confidence. For the police and security forces, there is no safe course of action. It’s dangerous to follow orders and shoot unarmed people, and it’s dangerous not to follow orders and not shoot. The one might get them tried for murder if the revolution succeeds, and the other might get them executed for mutiny. And so they try desperately to see which way the wind is blowing. If the police become confident that the revolution is failing, they’ll obey orders. If on the other hand they believe that it is succeeding, they’ll join the crowds. Every single one of them is trying to discern the tipping point, the moment when it becomes clear which way things are going, and until then they try to avoid committing themselves. An added factor in this game of confidence is that the people with the guns probably have relatives and close friends among the protesters. Even if they don’t get into trouble with the authorities (whether the old or the new) they also have to worry both about the safety of those dear to them, and how their own actions will be judged at home. <a href="http://frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=35484" target="_blank">Read more ...</a></div><br />Source: <a href="http://frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=35484" target="_blank">FPM</a><br /><br /><center><b>Barack Obama<br />Latest recipient of The Dhimmi Award</b><br /><br /><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/TheDhimmiAward.gif" alt="The Dhimmi Award" border="0" /></center><br /><br /><div style="float:right; margin-left:15px; margin-top:-190px;"><table border="0" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script></td></tr></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-3839563406175874059?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Liberal American Muslimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05980587842020342346noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-494962400014239832009-07-08T10:48:00.003+02:002009-07-08T11:13:51.982+02:00China's Hu Jintao skips G8 over Uighur violence<div style="margin: 35px -1px -4px 15px; float: right;"><img src="http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m472/reformislam/China.gif" alt="China" /><center><small></small></center></div><div class="module article" id="article" style="font-size: 1em;"> <div class="module-subheader"> <p><em class="timestamp">July 08</em></p> <p><strong>CHINA'S President Hu Jintao has abandoned plans to attend a G8 summit in Italy, returning home early to deal with ethnic violence in the north-western region of Xinjiang that has left at least 156 dead in China's.</strong></p></div> <div class="module-content"><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on its website that Mr Hu had left for China "due to the situation" in energy-rich Xinjiang, which borders central Asia, where 156 people have been killed, 1080 injured and 1434 arrested in unrest between Han Chinese and Muslim Uighurs since Sunday. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">State Councillor Dai Bingguo will attend the G8 summit in Mr Hu's place, the ministry added. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">The summit was due to open in the central Italian city of L'Aquila later today and Mr Hu had been scheduled to join the talks tomorrow. If we Han did the same thing, we'd be executed," Li added, as a friend standing next to him nodded in agreement. <br /><br />On the other side of Urumqi's now tensely divided neighborhoods, Uighurs protested yesterday, defying rows of anti-riot police and telling reporters that their husbands, brothers and sons had been taken away in indiscriminate arrests. <br /><br />Xinjiang has long been a tightly controlled hotbed of ethnic tensions, fostered by an economic gap between many Uighurs and Han Chinese, government controls on religion and culture and an influx of Han migrants who now are the majority in most key cities, including Urumqi.<br /><br />But controlling the torrid anger on both sides of the region's ethnic divide will now make controlling Xinjiang, with its gas reserves and trade and energy ties to central Asia, all the more testing for the ruling Communist Party.<br /><br />The government has sought to bridge that divide by blaming the Sunday killings on exiled Uighurs seeking independence for their homeland, especially Rebiya Kadeer, a businesswoman and activist now living in exile in the United States. <br /><br />Kadeer, writing in the Asian Wall Street Journal yesterday, condemned the violence on both sides, and again denied being the cause of the unrest. <br /><br />"Years of Chinese repression of Uighurs topped by a confirmation that Chinese officials have no interest in observing the rule of law when Uighurs are concerned is the cause of the current Uighur discontent," she wrote.<br /><br />The Communist Party boss of Xinjiang, Wang Lequan, sought to press forward that effort in a speech broadcast on regional TV and handed out as a leaflet to Urumqi residents late yesterday.<br /><br />"This was a massive conspiracy by hostile forces at home and abroad, and their goal was precisely to sabotage ethnic unity and provoke ethnic antagonism," said Wang.<br /><br />"Point the spear toward hostile forces at home and abroad, toward the criminals who took part in attacking, smashing and looting, and by no means point it toward our own ethnic brothers," he said, referring to Uighurs.<br /><br />Uighurs, a Turkic people who are largely Muslim and share linguistic and cultural bonds with Central Asia, make up almost half of Xinjiang's 20 million people. The population of Urumqi, which lies about 3300km west of Beijing, is mostly Han. </div> <br /><div class="module-content">Source: <a href="http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25750870-2703,00.html">The Australian</a><a href="http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25750870-2703,00.html"><br /></a></div></div><br /><div style="float: right; margin-left: 15px; margin-top: -50px;"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="20"><tbody><tr><td><script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/?tabs=web%2Cpost%2Cemail&amp;charset=utf-8&amp;services=digg%2Cdelicious%2Cpropeller%2Cstumbleupon%2Cnewsvine%2Cfacebook%2Cmyspace%2Ctechnorati%2Cgoogle_bmarks%2Cyahoo_bmarks%2Cyahoo_myweb%2Creddit%2Cwindows_live%2Cfriendfeed%2Cxanga%2Cmixx%2Cblinklist%2Cfurl%2Cmagnolia%2Cmister_wong%2Cn4g%2Cfaves%2Csimpy%2Cmeneame%2Coknotizie%2Cdiigo%2Cfunp%2Chugg%2Csphinn%2Ckirtsy%2Ccare2%2Cfresqui%2Cyigg%2Cslashdot%2Ccurrent%2Cblogmarks&amp;style=rotate&amp;publisher=2c340808-89cb-4b79-a6d9-d160a48ee7d6"></script><br /></td></tr><tr><td><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Rated item" permalink=""></div><div class="js-kit-rating" title="Scored item" view="score" permalink=""></div><script src="http://js-kit.com/ratings.js"></script><br /></td></tr></tbody></table></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3841725200778303867-49496240001423983?l=muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com'/></div>Gramfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12720386581094786049noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3841725200778303867.post-79114713306916510682009-07-08T09:07:00.004+02:002009-07-08T11:21:32.810+02:00OSAMA BIN LADEN’S TRIP TO L.A. I am the one. The head of the free world referred to me, personally, my family, as the reason for the unrest in the world . With a broom in my hand, trying gamely to clean up the popcorn from my son's movie party, I am the reason that there is no world peace. Obama handed me the world's destiny. He told me - 'if you stop building, stop growing, all will be right in the Middle East. Don't even think of Iran or Darfur or the honor killing of the women in your region. Your home renovation is the cause of war.' </span><br /><br />I am a settler. If I move 8 kilometers to Jerusalem, then I cease being a settler, I suppose. But then I am an Israeli. And that too is a problem.<br /><br />The peacemakers assure us that if we leave our homes, then there will be peace. And not just peace in Israel and the Palestinian territories. Peace in all of the Arab world. Peace in the entire world. 'That bully Ahmadinejad, don't worry about him. Sherri the settler, just leave your house with the blue windows, and the winds of peace will sweep across this world.'<br /><br />Never mind that before there were settlements, there was a PLO. Never mind that the Palestinians have refused the most generous offers from the Israeli state, including 97 percent of Judea and Samaria as reported in the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/28/AR2009052803614.html">Washington Post on May 29th</a>. Never mind that there is room for Arabs and Jews in the West Bank and that a Palestinian government that cannot allow Jews to dwell in its borders is a fascist state. Never mind that Israel itself has more than a million Arabs living among us. Never mind.<br /><br />There is practically nobody more reviled in the world today than a settler. We are seen as gun-toting racists, extremists, parallel to the extremists on the other side. Never mind that it is exceedingly rare for a Jew to be a terrorist. Never mind that those other extremists murder Jewish children like my son Koby with their bare hands just because they are Jews. Never mind that those other extremists send their own children to commit suicide as martyrs. Never mind that those extremists kill their own people by firing squad if they are suspected of being collaborators. Never mind that those extremists oppress their women. Never mind that those extremists are intolerant of homosexuality in their communities.<br /><br />But it is the settlers who are the problem. <div id="artTxtBlock"> <p>I was on a TV show where a Tel Aviv metropolitan woman referred to me as the 'cancer of the Jewish people.' There is nobody so bad and evil as a settler. We are the scapegoat of the world. It could be said that we are the Jews of the Jews. We are so convenient an object of hatred.</p> <p>Source:<a href="http://cgis.jpost.com/Blogs/mandell/entry/i_am_the_reason_that"> JPost Blogs</a></p></div><br /><br /><div style="float: right;
