The pose doesn't look all that different from the Mickey Raps album a dozen or so years ago.mnmearshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14073519242578035472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37568007.post-61735422227648285382007-07-05T15:58:00.000-07:002007-07-05T15:58:00.000-07:00I'm not surprised that this is happening. I'm mostly disappointed and a little revulsed.

I've been hearing about the project for a while now, but it's hard to be prepared for muskrat-sized chipmunks in early-'80s rap gear.

I don't have a lot of affection for the material, but it's rather nasty nonetheless.Jeff Pidgeonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09480545918063778031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37568007.post-28801118201352200942007-07-05T11:25:00.000-07:002007-07-05T11:25:00.000-07:00Oh come on. You had to know it was simply just a matter of time before someone tried to revive this franchise.

I'm pretty familiar with Alvin and the Chipmunks, the TV show and the albums. I think we still have the "Chipmunks Sing the Beatles" record packed away at my parents' home.

Chipmunks' creator Ross Bagdasarian (who was in Hitchcock's "Rear Window" and began his novelty recording career with "The Witch Doctor") was treated like an Armenian god in Fresno -- where my aunt and uncle live.

I'm simply wondering given its holiday release date whether "The Chipmunk Song" will be included in the film? Arguably, it's likely the only thing today's children might know about Alvin and the Chipmunks. I think it would be great to see Cylde Crashcup and Leonardo in the film -- but those may simply be two characters lost to time.

Besides, doesn't anyone think this film has a chance to be better than "Scooby-Doo," "Garfield," "George of the Jungle," "Underdog" or a half-dozen other toons from our childhood that Hollywood has tried to revive?

Even helmed by Michael Bay, "Transformers" didn't sound like such a great idea to me -- but it's getting decent reviews and now I know it's something I'll eventually see. The chipmunks may just surprise us all.mnmearshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14073519242578035472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37568007.post-4886780999074624012007-07-05T11:21:00.000-07:002007-07-05T11:21:00.000-07:00Haha - well that's a bit depressing...Haha - well that's a bit depressing...Davehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07973144102195593357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37568007.post-17685316169700623752007-07-05T10:35:00.000-07:002007-07-05T10:35:00.000-07:00Oh Jason.
