I have thought about that (and it's been suggested before, too), but I think I want a sculpted, dimensional face on the figure.

While I really like simply sculpted toys with printed-on faces (Lego men, Mighty Muggs, Kubrick figures, etc), I also really like the sculpts for my toys to hold up without any paint. So that's what's driving that decision.

Man, this is a tough one... The brown, orange and pink one looks much better now, but I dig the black and purple one too. I love them both! I think you're just going to have to do variants! :)

I actually like your original colors much better, feels more retro and seems to fit the character better. I agree with mdouglas on the contrast though, paint on plastic might need more contrast.

Still, with this news, I'm assuming it may be awhile before there's a beaver variant.

I certainly understand -- but it might be good to mention why (the lessons learned about the inability to reuse molds, costs, etc.) because that's an interesting part of your journey into toy production.

Actually, just after I posted this, I realized that I'm actually going to do another color scheme entirely!

I think the bleed-over you're experiencing is due more to the color xerox/scanning degradation, but I'll keep an eye on that if I decide to use it.

This is great news Jeff! I was always a big fan of this character! As for the color palette, I love the brown, orange & pink. The only critique that I would have is the pink and orange seem to bleed together in the drawing. Maybe a darker pink would work? or a complementary blue to contrast with the orange? Just some suggestions, but no matter what is chosen, you know I'll buy one!
