the members challenge over at the scrap heap this month was to use earthy tones on your layout. of course i combined it with dc 4 (stamp on your layout) and heres what i came up with -

ingredients - java and white cardstock, chocolate chip ink, lil davis stamps

i used a sketch from gettinsketchy too!

i just love the way this one turned out! i combined daily challenge #3 (scrap about toys or an animal) with monthly #1 (zagged edge)

here it is -

i actually remembered to keep track of what i used on this one so i do have an ingredient list! -

ingredients - java and white cardstock, chatterbox papers - botanico (tapestry, stripe and green oak) stampin up stamps (classic numbers) chocolate chip ink (su) bella bling brads, and thickers lettering. the journalling was printed onto reflex.

i am back on track with layouts! i have signed up for the monthly and daily challenges over at the scrap heap again (havent done these for ages!) and rather that posting all the layouts i have done since friday at once (and i have done quite a few!)...i thought i would showcase them out over a few days!

so heres the layout i did for daily challenge #1 (use vintage trim)that also doubles up for monthly challenge #8 (case the layout shown below)

heres the one i had to case -

and heres my version of it! -

i kept it pretty close to the original, and i love the way it turned out!

here are some close ups of some details -

i put the corner thru the cuttlebug (swiss dots) to get these cute dots...and was very impressed at my ribbon tying skills! lol

i distressed and scrunched circles to get a cool look, and added some buttons from my stash (yay! i used buttons!)

yeah yeah, i know, i am slack! i dont know where all my time has gone lately, but there as soooo not enough hours in a day to get stuff done! can you beleive it is the end of july already!??! not much scrapping done here lately, only a couple of layouts that i cant share yet :-( i have done a few cards though! check out my other blog if you want to see here there will be more cards coming (thanks to scheduled posts!) so keep an eye open!

evan broke his thumb! he broke it on the 18th, but bad mother i am i didnt take any pics. it is healing beautifully now (the nail is black though!), he is using his thumb again and as far as we know, not causing him any discomfort.
what else...hmmmmm..nothing that i can think of.
well i might finish this very exiting post , housework awaits
promise i will blog again soon (and make it a bit more interesting!)

not much scrapbooking done around here lately so thought i would share some random stuff! my pic doesnt do it justice, this sunset was awesome! the whole street was glowing a beautiful orangy colour. the photo was taken after it had been raining all day.

i have been wanting to scrap these pics of keiran being a wild monkey for ages. it was hilarius! he was eating pizza for lunch and he suddenly stopped and jumped onto the table and started making monkey noises! i have no idea what goes on in his head sometimes...must get that from his father! lol
the paper is chatterbox, no idea on the lettering.

i have finally put all my loose acrylic stamps into a better storage solution!

i saw this idea on the net somewhere. all i have left to do is label them properly and it is done! hopefully now they are better organised, i will use them more! (i even bought extra cases so i have no excuse to be messy when i buy new stamps! lol

i finally have my boots!!!!

i have been wanting these boots like, forever! but at $80 a pair i couldnt quite bring myself to buy them (my last boots i loved only cost me $30 and they lasted ages!) but when i went to the shops and saw them on sale for $39!!!!!!! i knoew i had to have them right then! i love them.

another layout i have recently done and love! i know it is a really corny title...but it seems to fit!

heres a close up of the little raised flowers -

this layout was super easy and took no time at all to do. i used basic grey papers and thickers lettering inked with a little ink, throw on a bit of bling...done!

i recently bought some Tim Holtz Grungeboard at my Lss.....i have seen this on the net alot over the last few months but i had never seen it irl before...until now!

i bought some sheets individually first (the stripe and swirls) as i thought they were really cheap ($1.75 each) and a good way to play with some before i committed to a packet! well i only lasted 10 minutes before i got myself a big box with swirls and elements! i love this stuff...it feels and smells like leather...it holds ink really well and the embossed ones just look fantastic! the price at my Lss was pretty cheap ($14.95 for the box with 94 shapes) i thought....if you are after something a little different...definately try this stuff...it is excellent!

we have a new addition to our little family! his name is.

....Buggy!!!

yep, i am now the proud owner of a cuttlebug...and it feels pretty darn good! lol i got him from my Lss on friday night,...bargain i thought at $99 and also picked up 3 embossing folders to go with it! i have been having so much fun with it...and keiran even knows how to use it now!

i cant wait to get my nesties now too!

big thanks to mum (for leting me "rent try buy" off her! lol) and maree (for convincing me to buy it! lol) and of course barb (for selling it so cheap in the first place!)

off to play some more i think!

yep, i have purple hair! not nice subtle purple, think kids poster paint purple! and i LOVE it! *note - its not 100 percent purple, just a bit of it!lol*

other news, i am now a member of a design team based in Europe! its all cards, so if you want to check it out - www.dutchdare.blogspot.com so far i am the only one from Australia on the team - woohoo!!! i will be posting my creations for it on my other blog, so if you are interested, check it out! first dare will be announced around the 13th june.
umm other news...keiran is hoping to have his first soccer game this saturday, poor little guy, he was supposed to have it last week, but the weather has been awful! i never thought i would be a soccer mum, but it happened! all i need now is a 4wd and i am set!
evan news - not much happening with him atm, his birthday is in less than 3 weeks....stay tuned on that front!
anyways, thats it for today, off to pick keiran up from school then off to training!
