I feel more enthused today, possibly b/c I have a new comic to look forward to and that makes me happy! :D Or... somebody slipped something in my food >.>;;; That could be it too D:

So today I got:

Detective Comics - #847
Final Crisis - #3(of 7)
Spiderman Loves Mary Jane - #1

Rawr! :D Like a cat! xD

Spiderman Loves Mary Jane made me SO happy, and I just read it like FIVE MINUTES AGO so the happiness is staying for now :D *bops* It's been a while since a comic made me happy after reading it so that is good! :]

SOOOOOOOOOO ONTO FUN AND CRAZY THINGS :O

Detective Comics - #847 - Rawr it's Hush and he's being Hush-like. >.>;; I still dun like the char but Dini does a good job making the story interesting, and including interesting characters :] Also I can follow this plot which is a plus with Batman stories lately XD In general tho it was an okay read but it wasn't super great or nething. Just okay. :) 3/5

Final Crisis - #3(of 7) - I actually didn't hate this issue of Final Crisis! OMG :O Mebbe b/c I KINDA SORTA GET what's going on now as long as I just understand that nothing in this book is rly affecting any other book. Things are still just kinda happening and I'm a little confused about stuff but I think it appeals to the
"OMG EVERYTHING THAT CAN GO WRONG IS GOING WRONG" part of me, the part that likes the stories about things being thrown into chaos, the world being completely broken and only a few ppl are still unaffected enuf to fight back but they have no idea what they're going to do. :] I like those plots... I dunno why :] I just like.. the desperation and the confusion and also just seeing chars kinda sort things out, amidst chaos. :o So yus... it's enjoyable in a OMGWTFTHINGSAREHAPPENINGTHEWORLDISFALLINGAPARTAHHHHHHH aspect :D 3.5/5

Spiderman Loves Mary Jane - #1 - YAYYYYYYYY!!!!! At first I thought this was a reboot of the series but it turns out to only kind of being like a reboot, it feels rly different and seems to only gloss over the past continuity and is starting anew which actually is pretty refreshing b/c it gives it a nice fresh feeling that is accessible to new readers (also that I didn't like how the mood and things were going last time neways) and YAYYYYYY I lurve it to death!!! :D Except not to death cuz then the issue would be dead and I couldn't read it nemore :( I luffed it to kitties! There! :D MANYWAYS... I enjoyed the last series too, but this one is more realistic, and it actually seems like the chars are students this time and not WB "students" who never do homework, never carry school bags and seem to have infinite money and time on their hands. ALSO THEY HAVE PARENTS. WOAHMG :O XDD And MJ is very down to earth and likeable, as are the other chars and I like hearing her thoughts on things and seeing her life and stuff :] This issue is simple but also very well written (even if sometimes it felt like "guys help me out, how do teenage girls talk!?" xD ) and just made me feel very happy and stuff :) Yay! :D The art is good too and does a good job of making the chars look more down to Earth (even if everybody but Flash is like a stick figure xD) :D 5/5 CATS OF DOOM

YAY!!!

I'm pleased about the comics I'm buying again :D PLEASED!!! :]

So.. that is that :O

Oh!

Nevermore999 is famous!!! :DDD I know a famous person! YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!! :DD Also she is ttlly awesome and smarts and it doesn't surprise me that she'd be noticed for that, even in a large crowd! :D

YAYYY!!!

I am too happy right now >.>

*pricks self* *deflates*

Mrow....

>.>

<.<

*reinflates*

OKAY.

So that's that then :D I'll put up a longer review of stuff soon hopefully! :D

Bais :]

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-48284758696320104042008-08-04T18:22:00.001-04:002008-08-04T18:22:24.628-04:00Week of July 30, 2008 Super Short ReviewsWarb :o

Hihi :D

Sry for the delay, I've been busy and stressed D: But today is a holiday in Ontario! Yay! :D Tho it's non statuatory so some ppl still have to work :(

Neways.. so this is what I got this week :D

Blue Beetle - #29
Catwoman - #81
Green Lantern - #33
Huntress: Year One - #6 (of 6)
Justice Society of America Annual - #1

Rawr... so yus :D Due to sudden money constraints I may have to cut down on my comic buying by a lot :( Sadly, that might spell the end of BB which I haven't been enjoying as much since Rogers left :( But we'll see :O A lot of the books I like have been cancelled tho, so that's helped my money a little... >.>;;

So onto the SSRs! :D

Blue Beetle - #29 - I didn't rly like this issue :( While I thought the characterization was good in parts, in other parts it was just very "wtf"? Plus I had some problems with how they're so far handling the sensitive subject they're tackling and the messages they're sending :( There were some cute moments tho, but in general I didn't rly enjoy this issue at all :( 2/5

Catwoman - #81 - Yay Catwoman! I liked this issue cuz it was fun and a nice break from some of the more serious depressing stories in Catwoman of late :D Also Batman's in it! :D I'm going to miss Selina when this series ends :( 4/5

Green Lantern - #33 - This is kind of a slower issue as there's a lot of exposition and stuff, but it's still a good read and it continues to develop the characters :D Plus I like seeing Sinestro as a good guy xD I'm rly enjoying this retelling of Hal's origin story arc! :D 4/5

Huntress: Year One - #6 (of 6) - YAY HUNTRESS!!! This is a fantastic end to a fantastic series and I rly rly enjoyed it :D It had some problems like the previous issues, the dialogue is a little clunky, the pacing is uneven and seems to be rly rushed at the end, and there was one scene where I thought the analysis of established characters was a bit off. :\ But I still rly liked it. :D I LOVE Helena here, and I loved her development as a hero and how kickass awesome she is in general! :D My only problem is there seems to be a lot left hanging at the end and I rly hope for a Huntress: Year Two to come out and solve all this soon! This is still an amazing read tho. :] 4.5/5

Justice Society of America Annual - #1 - This was kinda neat at first :D But the ending was kinda predictable D: I did enjoy seeing different takes on the chars tho and seeing Earth-2 and how it's changed :] But.. I dunno.. b/c of the ending, it just kinda feels like the whole story had no real impact on nething and it was kinda blah-ish. It was kinda fun to read tho :D I just kinda was left wondering "what was the point?" at the end. :( 2.5/5

Meow meow :D Neways that's it :D My plan is to review all 6 issues of Huntress back to back to back to hopefully get myself back into long reviews.. xD I'm lazy D: Also busy :O

Neways, there's some stuff I need to do now. >.>;; Be goods! :D *hugs*

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-31846904779570935452008-07-25T02:51:00.003-04:002008-07-25T05:23:59.114-04:00Week of July 23, 2008 Super Short ReviewsRAWR

I didn't get any comics last week so there were no reviews >:| I think with the summer and everything I'm just getting very blah about comics in general. xD It's more fun to read comics when it's cold and gloomy outside than when it's hot and fun! :D

At least for me. >.> I hate cold so much <.<;; I even get cold in the summer :(

Neways, nothing came out last week that I read tho, so.. no comics :O My credit card thanks me xD

But this week things came out that I read! :D

What things you ask? :O THESE THINGS :D

Green Lantern Corps - #26
Huntress: Year One - #5 (of 6)
Legion of Superheroes - #44

:o

I'm starting to look forward to the "minor" titles like these more than the "main" ones (like Batman or Final Crisis) xD I dunno why... I guess I just have event and "OMG STORIES THAT ARE A BIG F-ING DEAL TO EVERYTHING" fatigue :\ Or mebbe it's just summer XD I'm enjoying summer way too much >.>;; I honestly feel like this is my first summer evar... for.. reasons... >_>;;

NEWAYS

On to the reviews of doom :O

Green Lantern Corps - #26 - Very very enjoyable issue :D Also sad b/c of something that happens :( But the ending was very nice and also made me happy b/c of what happened. Plus the story had a lot of emotion and sucked me in rly well with it. :) 5/5 :]

Huntress: Year One - #5 (of 6) - I dun remember if I pointed this out before or not, but Huntress: Year One seems to be good every other issue o_O That is, the odd number issues have been FANTASTIC while the even ones have not rly felt as good to me :( This issue is no exception as it's amazing :O I rly rly liked it and I enjoyed the characterization of the different Bat family chars involved.. also Huntress continues to be SO AMAZING :O I rly identify with her and stuff :) YAY HUNTRESS! :D The only problem I have tho is that the dialogue is kinda bad in places, esp at the beginning :( 4.5/5

Legion of Superheroes - #44 - blah :\ Just like the last issue I felt like way too much was going on with not much characterization and I didn't rly feel involved. :\ It feels bland.. also b/c so much is going on, I'm kinda confused.. and the new artist isn't as good as Francis (I saw him at Paradise Comicon too :D He was next to Agnes! :D) So that doesn't help. :( Neways.. I didn't enjoy this comic much at all, b/c of how rushed and confusing everything was :( Also there was a scene in it that made me feel rly uncomfortable and triggered :( 1/5

*flomps*

That is it I guess :D I had to take a break and listen to the radio and then reread Huntress (to cleanse my comic palate xD) after LoS just cuz of how unsettled and upset I felt :( It's a personal thing but it still rly affected me and my enjoyment of the comic :(

Huntress luckily is saucesome :)

Rawr :o

Neways... hopefully I will have time for reviews this week XD I was in Rochester for 4 days last week (for Rochester Pride! And to visit my friends and watch Dark Knight :D ) and this weekend I'm going to London (Ontario) for London Pride! xD >.>;; It's so crazy.. XDDD I keep having friends involved in their local Prides tho who want me to go! XD So... hopefully I'll have time for reviews.. but.. summer :(

*flaps arms*

NEWAYS :D

Be goods! :D

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-91444116540566593562008-07-15T01:36:00.003-04:002008-07-15T01:53:30.156-04:00Week of July 9, 2008 Super Short ReviewsRawr! :D

Sry for teh delay in SSRs this week! I just didn't feel like reading Detective Comics until today xD I dunno why...

NEWAYS... So this week I got:

Action Comics - #867
Booster Gold - #1000000
Detective Comics - #846
Justice Society of America - #17

:)

Booster Gold made me SOOOO happy :D It was exactly what I've needed in comics lately, just something happy and positive and cute and fun that made me smile the whole way thru :) Things have been kinda grim and crossovery and final crisisy and stuff... I miss fun :(

But YAY! :D *bops* :)

I'm sad that Geoff Johns is leaving the book tho :( I hope whoever replaces him is good :)

So onto the SSRs! :D

Action Comics - #867 - Neat! :O I like this plotline and I find it intriguing and interesting :) I also like how they are trying to make all the various versions of Brainiac make sense and stuff too :] Also the characterization of Supergirl is better than in her own book (where she has none xD) :\ I'm not sure if this is good or sad >.>;; But the story setup so far is neat and interesting and I'm enjoying the art and writing too :D 4/5

Booster Gold - #1000000 - YAYYYY!!!! Lots of great and happy things happen in this book! :D I like it lots and it is a rly nice wrap up and conclusion to everything that came before! :D Also the "surprise" at the end (which is prolly not a surprise nemore) is wonderful also! I was kinda hoping against hope for it, but it still was a pleasent surprise I didn't expect! :D YAY! :D I'm sad that Johns is leaving tho :( I hope the book continues to be smexcellent after he's gone :) 5/5

Detective Comics - #846 - Yay it's Hush >.>;; It would take Dini to fix up Hush's creation story and make him less of a random villain and have his gimmick make a little more sense. :) I'm still not enthralled by his character, but the writing is good, and I like the inclusion of Catwoman in the plot :D This was a decent start to an arc :) 3/5

Justice Society of America - #17 - I'm getting very intrigued by what's going on now :O Normally I'm not rly fond of books where not a lot actually happens, but I think the character development and stuff that happened here is rly good, and I just enjoyed this issue in general :) I hope it doesn't head towards the cliched conclusion this "type" of story does, but so far I like it :) 4/5

Neways so YAY! This was a good week :D

*bops*

I must sleep tho :o So good night! :D I know I keep saying it but I hope I'll have some longer reviews up! It's just been rly hectic in my life lately and since it's the summer I've been going out a lot so O_O;; Not a lot of time to do stuff! xD

I'm sry :(

Neways :D Be goods!

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-31983134275036422402008-07-03T02:54:00.001-04:002008-07-03T02:54:31.494-04:00Week of July 2 2008 Super Short ReviewsMEOW :DDDD HAPPY LATE CANADIA DAY AND HAPPY EARLY INDEPENDENCY DAY!!!! :D

*shoots pink fireworks!* :DDDD

I know I know :( I haven't down a SSR in a while :( Well not since I went on vacation neways... and I was just so tired and stressed when I got back and I had so many appts I had to catch up on and then Pride and stuff.. so that's why I haven't rly had a chance to do my reviews or nething for June. :(

*sad*

:(

On the bright side, I'm back and hopefully will be back to reviewing! I just find it rly hard lately to do some longer reviews cuz I haven't rly felt very passionate about nething I've read! :\ It's just like.. meh... weird Final Crisis stuff I dun care about.. :\ But now MANHUNTER'S BACK! And I do care about that, so hopefully that will spur me on! :D

NEWAYS ONTO THE SUPER SHORT REVIEWS! :D

So this is what I got this week :]

Batman - #678
Blue Beetle - #28
Legion of Superheroes - #43
Manhunter - #32
Supergirl - #31

Why AM I still reading Supergirl!? D: *sighs* I guess it's rly hard for me to let go of my favourite char :\ I spent half of Pride weekend wearing a Supergirl shirt after all! xD And I bought a Supergirl touque the other day too! :D It's the same type of thing she wore in the Infinite Holiday Special, except blue instead of red and it has the Supergirl symbol on it :DDD I wish it was red ;-;

My friend is having a party soon where ppl come dressed as their favourite fictional character and when I met her at Pride she invited me to it and then kept coughing and pointing at my shirt as a hint as to who I should come as. XDDD

I should prolly have my hair ttlly blonde for that.. >.>;; Tho mebbe instead of that Supergirl can add a little dark brown to her hair! :D That would look smexy! xD

Ok ok >.>;; I'll stop ranting about Supergirl! xD ONTO THE SSRs! :D

Batman - #678 - o_o;; WTFISGOINGON!? Srsly.. I was just like BWUH??? the whole time I was reading this. I have NO idea what is going on, and it just seems like things are happening at such a rapid fire pace with so many different things going on at once that it makes it even harder to follow. >.<;; And I was enjoying Batman RIP too :( Now it's just like BUH!? o.O;; 1/5 Angelwings

Blue Beetle - #28 - This is Pfieffer's second issue on BB and it's an improvement over the last one. :) He still doesn't have the characters down pat (esp Dani and Peacemaker) but the plot is very Beetle like (even if it has a glaring plot hole xD) and is very in tune with his previous adventures and personality and stuff :D So I mostly enjoyed it even if I thought ppl weren't rly acting like themselves :) And the ending rly made me smile, and that always helps! :D 3/5

Legion of Superheroes - #43 - There's SO MUCH GOING ON IN THIS BOOK!!! I srsly had trouble following, it seemed like whenever there was a scene switch it, time jumps ahead and different things are happening when we switch back >.>;; Also, the overall plot is kind of dragging and it's a pretty cliched plot too :( On the other hand, I still find the characters fun and colourful and I esp like Chameleon xD 2.5/5

Manhunter - #32 - YAY!!!! :D I actually haven't picked up #31 yet o_o But I liked this one lots! Also Jaime is in it and written fairly well! :D YAY! :] I was hoping for good things from this book and I wasn't dissapointed. The characterization is awesome, the plot and dialogue is intelligent and intriguing and the artwork is fantastic :) I'm so glad this book is back! :D It's exactly what I've been needing :] 4.5/5

Supergirl - #31 - This is the opposite of "too much is happening". And this isn't the first book in the current run that's been like this. >.>;; I felt like I had finished a 5 page issue or something. It seemed like NOTHING HAPPENED! And basically, nothing did. It was one long exposition >.>;; *sighs* At least Supergirl is KIND OF getting some sort of characterization and motivation now (even if they keep changing her past on Krypton from writer to writer) but.. this plot is just rly boring and more of the "Supergirl is doing weird and crazy things" thing that I'm just SICK OF. GIVE HER A DIRECTION ALRDY! GIVE HER A LIFE AND FRIENDS AND RECURRING CHARACTERS AND HER OWN STABLE SETTING TO STAR IN AND THEN LEAVE HER ALONE TO HAVE STORIES AND ADVENTURES WITHOUT INFINITE GUEST STARS FOR A WHILE!!! SRSLY I'LL WRITE SUPERGIRL FOR FREE (OR BUBBLE TEA (OR CATS) )!!! Ugh... >.<;; 1.5/5

Of course if I wrote Supergirl, she'd prolly have a pink alternate costume, a billion cats and bunnies, and be bi >.>;;;

:D

MEOW!!! :D

Neways so that's it for the SSRs :) I'm SOOOO glad that Manhunter's back! YAY KATE!!!

And Kate + Jaime in the same book = lurve :] I hope they get to team up more. :D

So.. yus :D Hopefully I will have some longer reviews up soon! Maybe a Supergirl review since I can sum up the plot pretty fast! XDDD

BAI4NAO!!!

<3

Teh Ami :3Ami Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-40076202294268937162008-05-29T02:45:00.001-04:002008-05-29T02:46:50.860-04:00Week of May 28, 2008 Super Cute Vacation! :DMeow! :D I got comics today but I'm too busy to review them right now :( Needless to say they were tasty xD

I'm gonna be off at the Trans Health Conference in Philadelphia this weekend and then in Boston after that, visiting friends :) I'll be around and I might post in my rants blog and stuff, but there will be no SSRs and stuff during that time prolly :(

*hugs* I'll miss you :(

Be goods :D

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-45902812453404470282008-05-24T23:28:00.001-04:002008-05-24T23:28:57.766-04:00Week of May 21, 2008 Super Short Reviews of sickness :(Mrow :\

I feel ill right now. I had some bad sushi when I went out on Friday and now I feel gurgh :(

*sighs*

On the bright side I watched this awesome movie based on a manga called "Love My Life" :D It was soooo sweet :D Ichiko is TTLLY me! :D

XDD

Neways :o Of course, I also got comics this week! :D

They were:

Catwoman - #79
Checkmate - #26
Justice Society of America - #15
Robin - #174

:D

I didn't originally get Robin but after finding out what happened I had to and I wasn't dissapointed! :D I also was eating tasty food while reading it so that helped! XDDD

The comics store I go to and the one that is across the street from it (that I also go to if the other one does not have something :] ) are having a sale war and so they've slashed prices on everything by tons :O It's crazy and I'm obv not complaining XD *whistles innocently* XD It should be over soon tho :\

I've actually been thinking of getting the Supergirl shirt that I alrdy have, but in a L and I wears smalls. XD I got a L 2 years ago for various reasons, and it just completely hangs off me now and I use it as PJs. XD I just dunno if it's worth $19 (it's also on sale with everything else at the comic store) to get a small of a shirt I alrdy have :\

Mrow...

NEWAYS Here are the SSRs! :D

Catwoman - #79 - Yay! Selina's back in Gotham!!! :D This makes me happy :) The plot is a little generic tho, involving ppl I have no idea who they are :\ But I'm glad she's back :D Even tho I'm sad the series is being cancelled :( I hope she goes out with a bang tho and this story is leading into something awesome :D 3.5/5

Checkmate - #26 - Blah :( I miss Rucka :\ The story is... not rly very Checkmatish.. at least not what we've been used to. I'm kinda intrigued by the set up, but also kind of dissapointed that we appear to be moving away from the political intrigue that highlighted the previous stories :( Also not a lot of chars we rly know show up here so it's a little blah. 2/5

Justice Society of America - #15 - Lots of fighting! :O Lots. o_o;; I rly liked the characterization, esp given how many characters were involved, and how each got their own time to shine and stuff. I think that's rly important in a book like this. :) The plot doesn't rly interest me that much tho and is a little confusing honestly. :( I do luff watching heroes work together tho :) 3/5

Robin - #174 - YAY!!! I rly liked this issue a lot :) It was fun and sweet and fixed lots of things :) I had a lot of fun reading it tho and just the fact that it had a happy tone to it was a nice change :) I like happiness :] 4.5/5

:D

Mew XD

kk... so that's it! :D Yay! :D

I think I need to sleep and heal now :(

*hugs*

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-22513759262179788972008-05-17T01:13:00.001-04:002008-05-17T01:13:26.764-04:00Week of May 14, 2008 Super Short Reviews of MEOWNESS :DMeow meow meow meow meow :D

Meow meow meow meow meow :D

Kk, so it's Super Short Reviews time! :D Meow!

Sry I'm bopping to music right now XD Also I got to watch Ironman! Yay! :D

I rly rly liked it. Like rly :D I liked Pepper too :D But I was most surprised at how likeable they made Tony :) Like, that's why I was so skeptical when I first heard of it, and esp the casting of Downey Jr., but he rly did a good job making Tony somebody I liked. :)

Also yay robots! :D

XD I was making little sounds thru out the movie. My friend was quite amused XD But like I wasn't loud or nething, but I was like YAY ROBOTS! And yay warmachine! And awww poor guy, he died :(

But that just means that it was a good movie and I got rly into it :D

Neways, enuf about that :D I give it a 4.5 out of 5 :]

On to the comics I got this week! :D

Action Comics Annual - #11
Batman - #676
Booster Gold - #9
Green Lantern Corps - #24
Huntress: Year One - #1 (of 6)

Actually I got the AC Annual last week but I was too lazy to add it into last week's SSRs xD

So let's just pretend I got it this week!

Neways so here are the SSRs! :D

Action Comics Annual - #11 - I rly liked this one XD Even if it was A BILLION YEARS LATE!!! Also the ending confused me, about how it fit into the current storylines :( But I always luff it when good guys and bad guys team up to fight a greater foe :D And the parts with Parasite and Metallo in it were nice character moments :) 4.5/5

Batman - #676 - This is the beginning of the Batman RIP stuff and we are finally finding out who the Black Glove and stuff are :o I like that things are moving forward and stuff, I'm just kinda confused about what's going on xD Esp with the ending :o 3/5

Booster Gold - #9 - I rly liked this issue :D It was all crazy and alternate universe tropeys and I have a soft spot for AUs where horrible horrible things are happening. XD It was just mostly fun :3 4/5

Green Lantern Corps - #24 - I rly liked the characterization in this issue :D There was a bit of very blatant exposition in it, but in general, I enjoyed what was going on and esp how the characters were interacting and stuff :D 4/5

Huntress: Year One - #1 (of 6) - Yay Huntress! :D I've always liked The Huntress and I rly like this first issue :D She kicks total ass and I identify with her and her background a bit :] I'm interested to see what happens next! :D 4/5

:O Many 4s o_o

But yus :D So there they are :D

Meow meow :] I'll hopefully get some reviews up :D I've just had a busy week xD

<3

Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-33047830055533788842008-05-10T21:59:00.003-04:002008-05-10T22:14:06.099-04:00Week of May 7, 2008 Super Short Reviews of DOOM :DRawr. Okay my Teen Titans review exploded b/c my brain blocked out the first couple pages of it and when I re-read them... it was very upsetting :(

I do wanna get to Miss Martian tho :) And I need to finish up my Supergirl review that I have almost written, it just needs a couple scans I have to make. xD

Blah. >.>;;

NEWAYS

So this is what I got this week :D

I ended up NOT getting the Atom just cuz the past couple issues haven't impressed me at all :(

So this week I got:

Detective Comics - #844
Supergirl - #29

I have mixed feelings about both actually.. like... that there's stuff I rly rly liked about them and stuff I wasn't that impressed by :\ And so it's odd o_o

Neways here are the SSRs :)

Detective Comics - #844 - I always luff the Zatanna/Batman pairing and I find their chemistry oh so adorable, so netime they get to talk in this issue it makes me smile and stuff :D Unlike others, I actually kinda find the new ventriloquist interesting... at least in that she COULD be rly interesting if they explore her char more :) What I rly didn't like tho was how most of this issue was exposition... and exposition... and MORE EXPOSITION D: There are other, more interesting ways, to show readers a backstory than just page after page of somebody telling it straight up :( And then there's the obligatory fight. xD I ended up enjoying it, but the huge chunk in the middle was like >.>;; It was just very dry :( 3/5

Supergirl - #29 - The characterization of Kara is finally halfway DECENT, and I like how she's being portrayed lately, esp in this issue when she's caring, determined, optimistic, etc etc... basically everything Supergirl SHOULD be :) The plot still sucks tho :( And that makes me sad :( I want to see this Supergirl with a better plot (and a more stable setting in general) :) 2/5

Mew :o Yus, so that's it 4 now :) Life is all screwed up lately and I'm dealing with things (as usual.. DAMMIT THINGS STOP MAKING ME DEAL WITH YOU) but hopefully I can finish off the Supergirl review and stuff :D I rly want to talk about Miss Martian cuz I luff M'gann cuz she is me and I am her :D It is decreed... we merged last night >.>;;

<.<;;

Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-82497571605025658712008-04-30T22:58:00.004-04:002008-05-01T02:28:00.513-04:00Week of April 30, 2008 Super Short Reviews :DHi :D

Okay finally I actually had comics to buy this week! :] So life is good :D

I think I'm mostly recovered now from my wisdom teeth being removed and being rly sick for a few days (which was bizarre xD) and stuff tho :) And I have comics! So hopefully I'll be back to regularly reviewing stuff :D

Neways so this is what I got today :D

Action Comics - #864
Batman - #675
Blue Beetle - #26
DC Universe 0 - #1 (0?) (One-Shot)
Green Lantern - #30
Legion of Superheroes - #41
Teen Titans - #58

Rawr.. I wasn't originally going to get Titans, but Miss Martian was in it, and I luff her, so I got it and I'm SO not sorry I did! :D Miss Martian is GREAT!!!! :D And I relate to her on many levels which I'll get into later :] Also it gave me the MOST HILARIOUS TIM CHARACTERIZATION EVAR xDDDD

So here are the Super Short Reviews™! :D

Action Comics - #864 - This is a set up issue for Legion of Three Worlds but I found it RLY interesting. :] Actually now that Countdown is finally DONE, it seems like things are finally picking up again! :D I rly liked this issue b/c it had lots of Batman/Superman interaction and was just rly interesting in general and had good characterization :D 4.5/5

Batman - #675 - I originally skipped this b/c I haven't rly been enjoying Morrison's writing in this title lately, but Zhinxy told me that it was decent, so I checked it out, and it IS decent :D Batman is still angry!Batman but I liked the plot mostly and Jezebel Jet is still wicked cool and stuff :D The ending doesn't bode well for her tho :( I still thought this was a decent issue tho :D 3/5

Blue Beetle - #26 - Okay this will be a tricky score. :o I rly DO like the story and stuff, and the ending was rly sweet. :] I had some problems with the scarab characterization b/c it seems to go against what was recently established :\ But I guess that's kinda expected with a new writer XD My bigger issue comes from the issue being billed as the special Spanish issue, when rly it's just an issue translated into Spanish, then the English is given at the end so it comes off as a gimmick. Also ppl who actually speak and read Spanish have told me the translation isn't even good and regardless, there's a lot that wouldn't translate well and there's just a huge difference between writing something for a particular language and writing something in another language and translating it. :\ So it just seems rly gimmicky and annoying to me. I mean if you're going to do a story in the language of the superhero and bill it as this awesome authentic thing, and that the English is only a "bonus" (which btw you shouldn't have to PAY extra for "bonus material") you should have somebody fluent in the language write it IN that language and then you can translate it to English. >:| Neways... so ultimately I give it a 2/5 b/c while I enjoyed it, making the special Spanish language issue which is supposed to be respecting Jaime and his family in the comic into just an English issue with a gimmick doesn't sit well with me :(

DC Universe 0 - #1 (0?) (One-Shot) - For a 50 cent comic this was rly enjoyable :D I rly liked all the little previews and the overall narration which turns out to be from a surprise person! :D It also finally has me interested in Final Crisis and the little arcs coming in the DCU for each char :D 4/5

Green Lantern - #30 - We continue our origin story revamp of Green Lantern and I'm enjoying it :) Esp the parts with Abin Sur :D The characterization seems solid to me and it's just sort of relaxing and fun :D 4/5

Legion of Superheroes - #41 - The story continues to be interesting and the characters continue to be neat, fun and cute :D LoS is a book I've been enjoying a lot of lately and I still like it just cuz it's fun and I like the dialogue and stuff and I just... like it :D 5/5

Teen Titans - #58 - Normally I would take off points for bad Robin characterization, but this one was SO HILARIOUS that I think it GETS points. xD It's just.. OMGWTFBBQOUTOFLEFTFIELD XD Also M'gann is awesome and.. just awesome :) We find out more about her history and.. I just rly identify with her and her struggles and her past. :] <3 The plot is okay, I'm not fond of the Terror Titans AT ALL, but M'gann more than makes up for that. :D 4/5

:D

K so that's it! :] Sry about the long BB SSR, but it's a sore spot for me :\ Also my sister's fluent in Spanish and she's none too happy about it either, so I guess I'm sorta expressing for both of us. xD

Detailed reviews coming! :D (hopefully xD) Tomorrow's my birthday tho so, so I may take it off for blogging :D

<3

Teh Ami

Edit: apparently my brain blocked out the first couple pages of TT and I forgot they existed :( for personal reasons i dun think i can review it right now :( hopefully later tho, b/c I rly like the other parts :) it's just right now i'm crying :(Ami Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-58387833775394256342008-04-25T19:46:00.002-04:002008-04-25T19:48:05.962-04:00Week of April 23 doomsick and missing teeth :(I had my wisdom teeth removed and now I'm sick too :( Blah :\ Just letting ppl know why I haven't been able to post nething :)

Sry :(Ami Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-46200969491766589762008-04-21T20:34:00.003-04:002008-04-21T20:39:16.264-04:00Week of April 16, 2008 Super Short Reviews of.. nothingness :OHi :D

This week I got...

nothing xD

Yup xD I didn't have nething to get this week (as far as I know) xD So I didn't get nething. :] Sry D: But at least this is good for my wallet :)

I have a Supergirl review almost done tho so that will go up! :D Hopefully a few others too. :)

*stretch*

So my SSR this week is that the universe gets a 3.5/5! :D

Um.. that's it xD

Bai :D

<3 AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-47453723329098734242008-04-11T23:34:00.000-04:002008-04-11T23:35:09.485-04:00Week of April 9, 2008 Super Short Reviews! *koffkoff* :(Hi :)

I think I'm a bit sick right now so I'll make this fast :( This is what I got this week :D

Booster Gold - #8
Green Lantern Corps - #23
Justice Society of America - #14
Wonder Woman - #19

:)

Neways here are the SSRs! :D (sry sick :( I just wanna hop into bed :\ )

Booster Gold - #8 - As much as I've loved this series, this book is just rly boring cuz the plot is just.. so generic :\ I'm actually getting tired of the "worst case scenario" alternate present/future story where tons of ppl die b/c we know it's all gonna be undone. :( Plus the ending is a theme that's been pushed heavily since the build up to Infinite Crisis :\ I just want this arc to end and to get back to the unpredictable fun that was going on before :) 2/5

Green Lantern Corps - #23 - Interesting! :D Now that GL is taking a break from the Sinestro Corps aftermath, it's nice to see the storyline being picked up in GLC! :D I rly like how events are moving towards something and also just to see the chars I'd gotten used to seeing during the Sinestro Corps War plotline show up again :D 4/5

Justice Society of America - #14 - This issues bored me. Mostly b/c I didn't rly care about the chars and Gog has never rly been a villain I was impressed by or wanted to see more of. :( Also a brief Countdown plug *yawn* The opening I found rly neat but everything else kinda descended into a big fight and I didn't rly like it very much :( 2/5

Wonder Woman - #19 - Given how much I didn't like last issue, this issue wasn't bad at all :) There are some things that didn't feel rly right to me, and stuff seemed to move rly fast towards the end, like there wasn't enuf pages to cram everything in, but otherwise it was decent :) 3/5

Neways, that's it :) Now off to bed!

Good night :D

<3 Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-27856476692092890142008-04-09T01:14:00.002-04:002008-04-09T11:32:08.122-04:00Blue Beetle - #25 Review (the real one this time, I promise xD)Blue Beetle - #25

Synopsis: Blue Beetle says Dan Garrett's magic word and the Scarab wakes up and flies towards him and he becomes Blue Beetle again!

On Earth, Guy Gardner, Ice and Fire show up to help the Beetle Allies in their fight agains the Reach ground troops! YAY ^___^

Back on the ship, Blue Beetle explains to the Negotiator that the algorithm he put in the Reach Ship just consisted of random numbers to distract the Reach while the Scarab that was hooked up to the main computer downloaded their plans and transmitted them to Oracle and Batman to send to the world! He explains that the reason the Reach (who have been monitoring every electronic transmission Jaime has been making) didn't realize that Jaime had been in contact with Batman was b/c Jaime sent an old fashioned pen and pepper letter to Batman! :DDDDDDdd

The negotiator, in anger orders that the Reach world rippers prepare to destroy Earth! D:

On the surface again, Brenda wakes up and she and Paco kiss. Paco is attacked by Dawur and Brenda attacks him back and together they defeat him! :O

Jaime uses his own body to interrupt the Reach ship energies causing it to self destruct and prevent it from destroying Earth :o B/c he has to stay on the ship until the last minute for it to work, he and the Scarab accept that they have to die. Suddenly Booster Gold appears in a time rift, grabs Jaime (who tries to save the Negotiator too) and they escape. :DDD

A BBQ is held in the Reyes home (that was rebuilt by WayneTech of course) and a good time is had by all (tho Brenda and Paco pretend nothing happened on the battlefield :( ). :D

Review: Yay! :D This is pretty much as perfect an ending to this arc, and Beetle's growth into a full blown hero, as you could get! :D

I liked everything about this! Well almost everything xD I thought the Brenda/Paco stuff was a little too cliched.. just with the "oh we're gonna drag this out". Considering BB has been all about avoiding this type of plot stuff like Jaime NOT hiding it from his family and friends, Jaime not being obsessively sekritive about his identity, Jaime NOT have a problem asking for help, his family NOT freaking out or nething, it just kinda stood out to me. xD I know it kinda makes sense but it would have been rly cool if they just admitted things and went out :D So far BB has never been about beating around the bush or arbitrary drama and I've rly liked that :D Like Jaime and Traci just going out once they hit it off and no weird love triangles or nething! :)

But I also understand why there would be this twist b/c Rogers is leaving and Pfieffer needs SOMETHING to work with. xD Hopefully it doesn't turn into overdone dramuh :(

I rly like how everybody jumped in to save Jaime tho :) I rly like the old JLI showing up. :D THIS is how to handle a legacy character, you show him having his own cast and still be faithful TO the legacy. Ted's friends showing up, Dan's daughter and magic word, etc... Jaime is his own person and hero but he's also tied to his legacy too, they BOTH are part of him :D

Oh and it rly shows how much respect he's earned that all these ppl will show up to help him not cuz he's Ted but b/c he embodies the best traits of Ted, his heroism, his ingenuity, his determination and his intelligence :) And also b/c they respect and like Ted, it's about both of them not just 1 :) And ultimately, Jaime EARNED this. Which is the bottomline message that I luff SO MUCH about this conclusion. The previous 24 issues have been setting this up, that when it's on the line, Jaime has earned all this respect from everybody that he can confidently enact plans that involve others, and that others will show up without him asking to help :D

He even earned Batman's respect on the several times he's worked with him and Robin. :) And sending the letter to him was BRILLIANT :D Also him using Oracle even tho they had a bit of a crappy beginning when Oracle freaked him out. :)

I KNEW that the magic words was calling to the Scarab to reactivate it (as I stated in the previous review) but I didn't know it was it's name! :O That's cool! :D I like how we can understand the Scarab now, tho I think it's great writing that even BEFORE we kinda knew what it was talking about too :D And that thruout Rogers' run the Scarab's speech has become slowly more like English. :O

Everything Jaime did on the mothership was awesome tho :D How he had it all planned out, how including the previous issues leading up to this, his entire attack on the Reach has been one big well thought out plan that was both simple AND hard for the Reach to predict b/c he got to know how they think :D It's like that old "know your enemy and know yourself" thing :D The algorithm being a random bunch of numbers to distract them while the Scarab did stuff was great too :D

The ending was PERFECT. Jaime rdy to sacrifice himself and asking the Scarab if it would too and the Scarab ttlly agreeing! :D Yay heroic Scarab! I like how the Scarab is good and heroic too! I like how despite all his doubts and insecurities, when the time comes, Jaime ACTS without hestitation, without thinking about himself, he just does what he has to to save ppl and I rly rly like that about him :D And of course Booster's last minute deus ex machina rescue which WORKED SO WELL b/c a) it rly was unexpected b) it made SENSE b/c Booster's a time travelling hero now and it's not like this is out of his character :D Too bad Jaime doesn't remember his time with Booster in the Booster Gold series tho :(

And Jaime wanting to save Neggy at the end was so touching D: Poor Neggy! I felt so bad for him as he realized that this wasn't a fluke, it wasn't bad luck. Jaime had qualities the Reach didn't pay attention to, and that even HE didn't realize: his heroism, his compassion, his leadership, the way ppl respect and like him and will go out of their way to help him when he needs it :) And his intelligence, determination, perserverance and inner strength :D Neggy is right the Reach never had a chance :(

The ending was a rly nice end to this run tho. It was a nice wrap up with everybody having fun at the BBQ at Jaime's house. Of COURSE Batman had Wayne Enterprises rebuild his house XD Batman is behind EVERYTHING since he's so f-ing rich! xD He's always rebuilding ppl's houses or giving ppl jobs and stuff :O But it was a nice touch b/c it's perfectly Batman. He wun show up to the party but he'll send a gift :) Just cuz you're anti-social doesn't mean you're not a nice guy! xD

I think the only big problem I had is that La Dama VANISHED! She wasn't at the party at the end, and we didn't get the closure of her and Brenda's storyline :( Did they make up? Is Brenda moving back? Is she giving up crime for good now? Brenda became all about the Paco thing and La Dama kinda just never showed up again :( That's the only thing that rly bothered me :( She's a HUGE part of the Beetleverse, both as Brenda's aunt and as Jaime's supposed arch villain (even tho rly they're not xD) XD And.. just.. she should have been there and her relationship with Brenda should have gotten a little play :( That makes me sad D:

The 4 JLI heroes making excuses as to why they're there is weird. Jaime implies there's more. Is it that they wun admit that Ted's memory ties them together stronger than they would admit? :D It's very very sweet :)

And Jaime is comfortable with being a superhero now :) I like that b/c it makes SENSE! Over 25 issues, he's been slowly growing, learning things about himself, becoming a hero, both when he has power and when he doesn't, and also in many ways he's always BEEN a hero. :) He's always had the strength and compassion and determination inside him, he just had to find it :)

THAT'S how a teenage superhero who needs to grow into the role and find not just their inner hero but their inner strength and maturity should be written! Supergirl is at TWENTY EIGHT ISSUES and she's only now sorta getting some personality and figuring out how to be a hero! That's what I was complaining about before, and ppl kept saying "oh no it's just teenagers are selfish and stuff and she needs time to grow.. etc etc"

But the problem was she WASN'T GROWING. Jaime grew :) From issue to issue he learned stuff and became a better person. SLOWLY yes, but the movement was there. It wasn't for Kara :( Also teenagers AREN'T selfish and mean and materialistic. That's a stereotype. Teenagers are young, inexperienced, sometimes immature, but those things change as they gain experiences, as they mature, as they grow and find out who they are, it's not some immutable part of who they are. :) Kara never got to grow, they just played her as a stereotype :( She has more issues than Jaime and less characterization :\ It says a lot for Rogers and his writing (and a lot about Kelly too >.>) :D

I esp like how Jaime WANTS to be with the Scarab now! Remember how at the beginning he kept trying to find a way to take it out? Now they're FRIENDS and PARTNERS and he's glad to be reunited with the Scarab and they have conversations and stuff! :D

Oh! And the Scarab having a talk with his fellow Scarabs (presumably about being good, heroic, having free will, etc) is awesome too :D Maybe they'll make friends with the ppl they bond with too and then the Blue Beetles will be like another GL corps! xDDDD

Maybe not >.>

But it was another nice touch to wrap things up :)

Neways the entire issue was just so great and so wonderful and so.. BLUE BEETLE :D I'm gonna miss Rogers now :( I dunno if Pfieffer can take over adequately but no matter what this 25 issue run (tho I know there's been a couple fillers that Rogers wasn't on) is something special and to me, the definitive Blue Beetle story arc :D They should collect them all into one big TPB :D It's rly like "Season 1" of Blue Beetle :D I just hope the next "season" will be an adequate follow up :D

Angelwings Rating: 5 happy Scarabs out of 5 happy Jaimes :D
Recommendation: DEFINITELY BUY IT!!!! >:DAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-39739823798465163342008-04-05T07:20:00.001-04:002008-04-05T07:20:47.307-04:00Week of April 2, 2008 Super Short Reviews! :DRawr :o

Ami here again! xD I'll get the REAL Blue Beetle review up soon k? :D

I've just been busy and hectic lately :\ Haven't had a lot of time for comic reading, comic buying or comic writing abouts :( I'm sry :\

Neways here's what I got today :D

Action Comics - #863
The All New Atom - #22
Checkmate - #24
Detective Comics - #843
Secret Invasion - #1 (of 8)
Supergirl - #28

Yus :)

I was pleasently surprised by some of the ones I didn't expect much from :] So here are the Super Short Reviews! :D

Action Comics - #863 - Awesome :D I rly liked this plot in general and the conclusion was rly well done with cliched moments that fit well and felt right :D And just.. YAY SUPERMAN! :D 5/5

The All New Atom - #22 - WAY more interesting than the first one but STILL ppl are acting out of character :( And the Atom is still monologuing like Batman :( Still, while I still find everything kinda off and Ryan's characterization to be like.. a total 180 from regular Ryan, at least stuff happened in this issue and it was somewhat interesting to read. :) 3/5

Checkmate - #24 - This issue felt both dragged out AND rushed, like things happened very quickly WHEN they happened, but then slowed down when things weren't happening :( I still am rly enjoying this plot, but some of the rushed parts kinda bothered me :( Also the cliffhanger was kinda out of the blue. I dun think it was even on my mind that it was something that needed addressing but in retrospect it was! xDDD It still seems random tho since there was no build up or set up o.o;; Still a decent issue to continue an interesting plot :D 2.5/5

Detective Comics - #843 - Rly neat! The new ventriloquist gets more layers added to her and stuff :D Also more Zatanna and building on previous issues and her appearances and I rly like that aspect of intra-series continuity. :) Plus there's stuff hinted that I would just SO BADLY WANT TO SEE, even if it's only for a short arc or something! :D Very enjoyable :) 5/5

Secret Invasion - #1 (of 8) - Bwuh? I admit to not knowing as much about Marvel as DC so maybe this doesn't have the gravity it might to a serious Marvel fan, but still... bwuh? xD I understand what's going on and it's entertaining and stuff.. sort of. xD But I fear DRAGGINESS. This first issue didn't drag or nething b/c it was just setting up all sorts of stuff which I find neat. But 8 issues over 8 months (barring delays of which there always seem to be a couple for either of hte big 2's big events)? That's a long time to drag out a plot. :( Is there RLY 8 months of plot in this concept? o.O I dunno.. but for now, this first issue was decent and mysterious enuf that I picked it up after flipping thru it. xD I hope that the payoff matches the setup. 3/5

Supergirl - #28 - Great! :D I rly liked this issue. I know the plot is still silly and there was some random Wonder Woman stuff that just seemed incorrect to me. >.> But... STILL.. Supergirl actually seemed heroic (if a little naive in the cute way xD) and determined and NOT selfish and hateful and stuff. She actually cares and stuff! And even tho the plot isn't great or nething, it's just that characterization of her and her goodness and stuff that has just been missing for so long and it's so great to see it! :D Now if only Superman would stop showing up :( Let her stand in her own book for once! >:O 4/5

:D

Kk! :D So that's it for now! Longer reviews coming! :D

<3 <3 <3

Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-27695880113920618362008-04-01T21:18:00.003-04:002008-04-01T21:21:33.190-04:00Blue Beetle - #25 ReviewBlue Beetle - #25

The negotiator, in anger orders that the Reach world rippers prepare to destroy Earth!

On the surface again, Brenda wakes up and she and Paco kiss. Paco is attacked by Dawur and Brenda attacks him back and together they defeat him!

A BBQ is held in the Reyes home (that was rebuilt by WayneTech of course) and a good time is had by all (tho Brenda and Paco pretend nothing happened on the battlefield).

Review: Well that SUCKED! Srsly! What a crappy ending to this arc! Come on! It was FULL OF CLICHES! Last minute saves? Deus ex Machina EVERYWHERE? Stupid love scenes? I'm tired of strong girls falling for stupid goofy guys! Brenda is WAY better than Paco! They should just make her like girls cuz she's way beyond any stupid idiotic men period!

And those gimmicky guest appearances? Guy? Fire? Ice? Booster? SRSLY. What the fuck was that? More deus ex machina! Plus Jaime offering to save the villain is just LAME and SO OVERDONE!

The scarab talking was STUPID, we shouldn't know what he says! He's supposed to be mysterious, exotic, loyal and helpful, not understood and an individual!

I was expecting SO MUCH MORE, but instead I get fed this overdone CRAP. It's just UGH! And of course Jaime has to look so great. I was hoping for Traci 13 to save him at the end, but he just comes off as SUCH a Gary Stu! Everything is so perfect, he's so compassionate, so smart, so heroic, so EVERYTHING!

UGH

Fucking male heroes!

You know what? I'm actually GLAD now that Rogers is off this book! Now if only they can get rid of weirdethnicguyname too and his stupid art! Bring on Pfieffer! Hopefully he'll fix up this crap!

All the convenient plot twists, the overdone cliches, guest star after guest star, weak-kneed girls and macho male heroism sickens me!

I actually had so much hopes for this conclusion and instead it's just this crap. Plus the Reach are made to look so weak and whiny. OMG WE HAVE NO HOPE AGAINST THE ALL POWERFUL MALE HERO!

BULL FUCKING SHIT

I'm done here.

Angelwings Rating: 0 Aprils out of 5 Fools
Recommendation: Burn it, the comic store that sells it, and nuke the town the store is in! I've been having trouble getting comics lately :( I'm not even sure I got all the ones I needed to to make up for last week :(

Neways.. this is what I got this week :D

Batman - #674
Blue Beetle - #25
Green Lantern - #29
Legion of Superheroes - #40
Salvation Run - #5 (of 7)

For some reason I'm currently not feeling that enthusiastic about the comics (except for Blue Beetle xD) so this might be kind of a blah super short review :( I'm not having a very good day and I got cancelled on for something I was rly looking forward too :\ I apologize in advance :(

Batman - #674 - Weird :o And confusing :o I'm rly not that interested in this plot and it's been stretched out over such a long period of time that I'm just sorta "meh" about the whole thing :( I'm sorta curious about what happens next, but I didn't rly enjoy this issue :( 2/5

Blue Beetle - #25 - This is pretty much the most perfect conclusion you could come up with to end Rogers' 25 issue (more or less, there've been a couple filler issues) run on Blue Beetle! :D It's great and action packed, full of surprise appearaces (well maybe not that surprising) and lots of scenes that show just why Jaime is such a special and great hero! :D It stumbles a little at one point where it gets a little cliched, but everything else is just awesome and I dun think we could ask for nething more :D 5/5

Green Lantern - #29 - I dun rly know the "official" origin of Hal Jordan, so I can't tell you if this is accurate or not, but I did enjoy it and I thought it did show me a lot about Hal and how he came to be who he is now and stuff :) Not action packed and exciting, but I liked it! :D 3.5/5

Legion of Superheroes - #40 - I'm rly liking this current run of LoS :D It's cute and funny with a strong focus on characterization over action and forced plots and I rly like that :) Plus we finally get to see Brainy and he's a joy to see again :D And yus it's a bit of a teen drama/soap opera, but it's a teen drama done RIGHT! Sean McKeever could take some notes for Titans from Shooter. >:\ 4/5

Salvation Run - #5 (of 7) - Mrr... I dunno.. I rly liked SR when it started out but now it's just kinda.. more of the same... I dunno xD I was hoping for more characterization and less "name on name" fighting :\ However, the story is apparently going to move in a new interesting direction judging from the end of this issue and that intrigues me :) 3/5

:o

Yus, so that's it for this week :) I will hopefully have some reviews up tho I've had a very busy week and I have a busy weekend too so I dunno... we'll see! :D I apologize for all the busyness and everything lately tho :(

Bai :D

Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-2986639966483362012008-03-27T05:48:00.003-04:002008-03-27T05:54:11.815-04:00A small update :oI know I didn't get anything up last week but it's cuz I didn't get comics last week :\ My life and schedule have been all over the place lately and my ability to get to a comic shop is rly limited right now so I can't get them on Wednesday or even Thursday each week :\

I got them today tho and whatever of last week's I could find. xD

I'll put the SSR up soon. And of course longer reviews for Blue Beetle and Legion of Superheroes and prolly others :] BB was SO GOOD IT MUST BE REVIEWED THO! :D I am trying to keep up my streak of always reviewing BB and Supergirl comics :] (my hiatus doesn't count) xD

Also I watched Stargate SG-1: The Ark of Truth finally xD I'll review that too when I have time. :] I have a TON of nitpicks (and bigger than nit picks) for that movie xD

And I'll hopefully review the last episode of Jericho too :) So rushed xD I'm sad that it's finished tho :( I WANNA SEE THE CIVIL WAR!!! DAMN YOU CBS DAMN YOU TO PINK HELL! >:O

I dropped Catwoman and Teen Titans due to disinterest and money issues. :\ I'm going to miss Miss Martian, but I rly am not enjoying McKeever's run on Titans >:| Also money issues :(

Neways, that is all :)

Reviews up soon!

Teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-77448915630984438012008-03-17T22:25:00.002-04:002008-03-17T22:27:07.871-04:00Week of March 12 2008 Super Short Reviews v_vMeow :(

I'm rly tired so I'm going to make this fast and go to bed :(

I FINALLY got a chance to get my comics today so I'm pleased xD

Cuz I'm tired I'm just gonna quickly say what I got:

Booster Gold - #7
Green Lantern Corps - #22
JLA Classified - #54
Superman - #674
Wonder Woman - #18

:o This is the last JLA Classified :( I liked it even tho others didn't just cuz I like stories that are set in older continuity and older teams and I find that neat :D Esp since I'm not that enamoured with the current JLA xD

Neways here are the SSR :D

Booster Gold - #7 - Good :D Tho a little predicatable since we get a heel turn of a char I'm sure we all alrdy guessed was ebil. xD However, I luff dystopian alternate universe stories and I just enjoy the "what if the bad guy succeeded" idea and to see what would happen and stuff, so I thoroughly enjoyed this story for the most part :D 4/5

Green Lantern Corps - #22 - Not a lot happens in this story, ultimately, but we get to see the Guardians actually do things that aren't ebil and mysterious and we also get a little more character development of Boddika and her ppls which is cool :D Not exciting but not bad :D 3.5/5

JLA Classified - #54 - The story itself is pretty generic, tho I guess for an end to a series, it's a good way to go, and the ending is a neat little "this is what the Justice League is about" thing which is a good way to end this book I think. :) I rly liked the double storyline running concurrently tho where the past story is being told at the top of the pages while the present story is being told at the bottom :D My only question is... did the JLA KILL the villain at the end!? :OOOO I thought they didn't kill.. even like... when they have to... :o Neways :D It isn't a bad story but it is kinda generic :| However it's a pretty satisfying ending to a pretty entertaining arc :] Not a bad way to end the series on! 3/5

Superman - #674 - I dunno who this guy Superman is fighting and I dun rly care since he seems like "generic bad guy #29423" or something. xD Just like, at least we're TOLD who he is, but still! Umm.. there seems to be a lot of plots running at once and it seems a little crowded sometimes. This is clearly leading up to something bigger but I was just mostly bored with this issue. :( 2/5

Wonder Woman - #18 - Wonder Woman fighting Khund = Awesome. Other stuff in the book, not so awesome. :\ I'm not rly sold on the WW/Nemmy relationship at all, also I dunno.. the story rly didn't GRAB me, and things seem to just be happening out of the blue. It IS nice to see more involvement from WW's regular cast tho and development of those characters and stuff. :) But I didn't rly like this issue much :( On a side note I had a dream about Khunds capturing me as Supergirl (before I read this issue)! :O It was very very very odd xD 1.5/5

Kk... XD That's it. Maybe it's cuz I'm tired that I feel so blah about everything :\ I'll hopefully put up some longer reviews when I get my 50 hours of sleep! :D

I am SO tired v_v

Good night! :D

<3 teh AmiAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-1832610605510310252008-03-16T23:22:00.002-04:002008-03-16T23:24:09.748-04:00Sry :(Sry for the lack of reviews :\ I haven't had a chance to get comic books for this week yet so there is nothing to review so far D:

When I get them (should be tmrw) I'll put stuff up :]

I may or may not put up a review of the latest Smallville episode just cuz it was SO FULL OF STUPID! >:O And I like ranting about Smallville being full of stupid XD (as Michelle knows :D)Ami Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-8686306848471356812008-03-12T07:29:00.007-04:002008-03-12T21:47:13.513-04:00Jericho - S2E5 "Termination for Cause" Review :)Jericho - S2E5 "Termination for Cause"

Synopsis: Mimi is taken to the hospital to be treated for her gunshot wound. Jake talks to Major Beck to try to get him to intervene and stop Goetz but Beck and his men are called away to New Bern to stop insurgents there. He says he'll be back in the morning and not to harm Goetz.

Jake, realizing that Goetz will come after Mimi to eliminate all evidence that he has been stealing money from Jennings and Ralls, brings all of his rangers into the hospital in order to protect Mimi. Goetz hears that Mimi is alive and was in the house when Ravenwood fought with Bonnie (YAYBONNIEKICKINGASS!) and goes to get her. He and Jake have a confrontation but Jake refuses to allow him in and threatens violence if he tries.

Stanley, upset at the death of his sister, goes to see Bonnie's body and Eric accompanies him. Jake orders every entrance barracaded as Goetz has power cut to the hospital. Darcy, who was in the hospital getting medicine for her children, is recruited by <s>Aasif Mandvi</s> Dr. Dhuwalia to assist him in surgery.

Hawkins talks to his informant on the phone. He discovers that the conspiracy behind the September Attacks goes all the way to President Tomarchio who once worked for Jennings and Ralls and that most of his cabinet is made up of former J&R employees as well. :o

Russell and another New Bern resident confront Heather and tell her that her actions have led to Beck's crackdown on New Bern and that they were sent to kill her! :O

Back at the hospital, Goetz brings the wife of one of Jake's rangers to the seige in order to get him to leave Jake. Everybody gets worried that their families will be threatened. :(

Hawkins goes home to find members of Ravenwood there. They tell him that Darcy (his wife) is being held hostage at the hospital and that he must come to talk her into leaving. Hawkins finds that suspicious and disarms the guards! :D He holds one of them at gunpoint.

Darcy talks to Mimi who realizes that Bonnie died defending her. D:

Eric tries to tell Stanley that it's not his fault but he says that he doesn't blame himself. He tells Eric to give him some time with his sister where he signs to her and tells her how proud he is of her and to tell their parents he loves them.

Hawkins brings the guard he captured in his home to the hospital where he uses him to get close enuf to the 2 guards guarding one of the entrance to kill them. He then asks Jimmy who is guarding the entrance to let him in.

Goetz is told that some of his men have dissapeared. Concerned, he calls Fred, who is the mole he has inside Jake's men. Emily notices that he is acting suspicious.

Russell tells Heather that he's joined a resistance led by Constantino to oppose Beck b/c he feels New Bern is being treated unfairly by Beck b/c they were aggressors in the war with Jericho. He says that the resistance was going well until Heather gave Beck information on their movements and that Heather has to stop. Heather says as long as they are allied with Constantino she will keep helping Beck. Russell says that they're going to try to capture Goetz and execute him, and if they fail in that then Constantino will send different ppl to kill Heather next time :(

Back at the hospital, Jake and Hawkins tie up and gag the guard and Jake explains the situation to Hawkins. They talk to Mimi who explains to them that she discovered Goetz was embezzeling money from Jennings and Ralls and that he killed Bonnie to get Mimi's ledger that proved it. She figures he destroyed it (which he did). However, the proof can be reconstituted if somebody had access to J&R's private data. Hawkins calls his contact and gets the private email address and contact information of one of the heads of J&R. He gives that information to Mimi.

Back in the hospital, the Ravenwood operative that Hawkins captured has escaped! :OOO Jake surmises that he had help from the inside and Emily points out Fred as the probable culprit. Jake and Hawkins decide to use him.

Mimi calls Trish who is able to use her access as a J&R employee to get the data necessary to prove Goetz's guilt. Trish tells Mimi that she's responsible for Goetz finding out about the ledger and therefore responsible for Bonnie's death. :(

Jimmy and another ranger work on digging a hole thru one of the walls of the hospital. :O

Jake and Hawkins seek out the Ravenwood guy and defeat him in a shoot out when Hawkins successfully counts the bullets the guy used and catches him while he's forced to reload. :D YAY HAWKINS! xD

They lie and tell Fred that they were unable to capture him and that they have to pull guards off one of the exits and that Fred must cover it by himself. Fred calls Goetz and tells him to attack that entrance.

Minutes later, Goetz and his men rush in but find the hospital deserted. They rescue their captured guard who tells them that he heard Jake and company talking about another way out of the hospital and directs them to the tunnel. Goetz realizes that Fred was made as the mole and believes that they escaped to a farm. He orders his men out to meet reinforcements! :O

When they leave, Jake and company come out of a room where they have been hiding and confront Fred who says he had no choice but to help them b/c they were going to take his farm away. He tells them that Goetz is planning to meet more troops before attacking.

Jake, Hawkins, Eric, Emily and others wait in ambush where Goetz is making his rendez-vous. More Ravenwood ppls arrive but as Jake suspects, they aren't on Goetz's side at all. Coming out of the truck are Trish and the regional director for Ravenwood. They disarm Goetz's men and Trish informs Goetz that he's fired. They then leave, leaving Goetz to fend for himself. It's then that Jake and friends attack! :D

At the same time Russell and men from New Bern attack! :O In the ensuing fight, all of Goetz's men are killed except Goetz. Russell and Jake fight over who has custody of Goetz when Stanley drives up and puts a gun to Goetz's head! :OOOOOOOOOO After a short hesitation he kills him! D: Hawkins says that at this point it doesn't matter who gets Goetz b/c Beck will bring down his anger on both towns once he finds out Goetz is dead. They give Goetz's body to New Bern which strings him up outside the town for all to see.

Review: :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I WAS RIGHT xDD Well not TTLLY but enuf! I said that New Bern and Jericho should share Goetz (which they kinda did) and that should string him up between the towns. :O Also that everybody should get 1 shot at him, but oh well XDDD

I wrote the plot by memory btw so some of the events might be out of order but I think I got all the important points! :D Also I dun have a TV review blog so I'm just gonna stick this here! MAYBE I'LL DO OTHER TV REVIEWS IN THE FUTURE TOO!!! YOU NEVER KNOW!!! DUN MAKE ME MAD OR I JUST MIGHT DO MORE!!!!!!!! XDDDDDDDD

I liked how Stanley DIDN'T blame himself and was pretty blameful of Goetz :D It's nice that he's not blaming himself since it WASN'T his fault.

I also liked that Stanley acknowledged that Bonnie died protecting Mimi and it wasn't treated PURELY as this death just to give him incentive to kill Goetz. Tho he did neways. XD At least, as I said, if you're going to WiR, that was the way to do it, where Bonnie goes out fighting and taking out a ton of Ravenwood before dying to the bad bad bad super bad ultimate bad guy. :D

But still... poor Bonnie :( I know my friend immediately went "poor Stanley" but I was like poor Bonnie. :( I mean it's automatic for ppl to think of the guy affected by the death of a girl like that in TV and stuff.. where it's like "oh.. poor him.. now he must get revenge!" but srsly. She died! D: I feel bad for Stanley too.. but I'm still so upset that Bonnie DIED! At least she died fighting as I keep saying tho :D

It is saucesome tho what happened :D I always feel let down when major villains are killed and defeated sorta... accidentally... when you dun feel the heroes RLY showed the villain up and rly proved that they beat him. More like "oh circumstances conspired where we ended up defeating you".

Also there was no BS "he has a gun!" moment where they're FORCED to kill Goetz b/c he tried to backstab them or something. >_>

As usual I enjoy Jake's panicky experessions xD Like at the beginning when he confronted Goetz outside the hospital and Goetz was all "dun mess with me bitch!" XD Jake was like O_O But as usual that means >:| in Jake faces :D

Also that he's showing himself to be a rly capable leader. Which he always was, but I always felt he was a little uncomfortable in doing it, but lately he's rly evolved into somebody who is willing to take charge and give orders and stuff :D And it was SO cool to see all the rangers with rifles and stuff guarding Mimi's door and just protecting the hospital from Ravenwood. It's nice that an episode that featured the end of a major villain lived up to expectations like this :) I rly liked how it was like a big showdown between the good guys and bad guys, and also how it wasn't just a big fight, it was a game. :]

I guess that's what I rly rly liked from the beginning of the episode! :D I think it was set up beautifully with Beck and his troops leaving for the night (tho it's odd they would take all of them troops or at least such a large amount of them out that nobody noticed that there was an armed stand off going on at the hospital XD) and making it so that it was like a seige. They had to hold off Ravenwood until Beck came back. :]

In a way I think this episode benefitted from the short season just cuz if it was another 20+ episode season, I think this might just have been a seige episode where they had to hold out until Beck came back and chased Goetz away. xD Or something... I've noticed that so far this season has been RUSHED. Where everything is plot plot plot and 4 episodes are crammed into one. Sometimes it hurts the episode (as I believe Episode 2 felt EXTREMELY rushed) but sometimes it means that there's no episodes where we're like "*sigh* back to the status quo until we near the end of the season" or "*sigh* have something HAPPEN alrdy!" :D And it's rly great to see plot points created and resolved fast. XD In a way it's a change from all the dragging out of mysteries and sekrits and OMGMAYBEBIGREVEALSARECOMINGSOMEDAY that's become so vogue in TV nowadays.

It's fun to have lotsa stuff happen quickly :D

But neways, I rly like how it felt like this seige, and it was like trying to hold them off and stuff, and it had a very dramatic, very important feel to it and the FEELING of it was just so.. awesome to me :] I rly like "seige thru the night" stories when they're done RIGHT. :] I dunno why but those are just plots that I rly enjoy and situations that I luff seeing chars in just to see how they react and Jericho, at it's core, is a very character driven show. :D This episode was just great for playing off of that strength :D

I luff how they outsmarted Goetz btw, even if it was a little cliched. xD I luff the "1 step ahead of you" thing and the "he thinks that we think that he thinks" stuff they used at the end :D See, what made Goetz so HATED was that he always found a way to get at ppl. That he was so cocky and protected and had answers to things. So it was great for him to get pwned the way he did, to be tricked, humiliated, fired and killed while on his knees. XDDD Very satisfying!!! >:D

I'm vengeful I know. xD But it's just.. if you're gonna build a villain up so much there should be a satisfying pay off and they gave it to us :D When Ravenwood started pulling ppl's wives and loved ones out I was worried that Goetz was gonna take the upper hand again or that it would keep going on but it didn't :D Plus I luff that Hawkins showed up just cuz he's been kinda uninvolved in the non-conspiracy-related storylines and it was great to see Hawkins and Jake team up and just kick pure butt like that! :D

I felt SO SAFE when they were together and just like NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN NOW JERKFACES CUZ WE HAVE HAWKINS AND JAKE TOGETHER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:D

I luff that everybody got roles to play, that Emily had an important role, even tho it was a small one, and that Mimi and Trish played key roles :D It was a rly nice scene to show Trish feeling so guilty about Bonnie's death. :]

It's odd how quickly Trish became a "good guy" and esp since she seemed so suspicious in the first episode of this season. :o But then it IS the 7 episode rushed season, so they had to rly push her and Beck into the good guy category FAST, and it STILL feels odd that I shouldn't trust them and still kinda dun. I mean I've only known them for 5 episodes, and barelyk now much ABOUT them, so it's just weird. XD Still I'm getting used to feeling like Trish is just good. It's just weird to meet a GOOD character that isn't rly that complex other than being GOOD. :o She can be Jericho's Supergirl! :D

Stanley signing to Bonnie was very very sweet. :) I luff Bonnie and I luff how her character is played by a deaf actress and it doesn't feel like it's a "we're throwing in deafness as a gimmick" thing. It was part of her character and it never BECAME ALL SHE WAS nor was it brushed aside like it meant nothing. :] I think it's so great that Stanley acknowledges her heroism and sacrifice and bravery. That she is acknowledged as a hero and not as a victim purely (tho sometimes the episode still played it in a way where if you didn't know you'd guess she just was killed by Goetz in cold blood for Stanley to be mad). But it was still a very sweet scene :D

BUT SHE's DEAD!!!!!!!

*whines*

D:

I'm still kinda split on her death D: On one hand, yus she clearly was killed b/c the plot needed a sympathetic victim for Stanley to get angry and to give Goetz MAJOR HEAT. Killing girls b/c of the way our society looks at the gender imbalance, does get heat fast.

ETA: Having just watched the commentary track, the producers confirmed that they came up with the idea b/c they needed "something so horrible" that would make ppl realize how evil the government is and they thought "well what if they shot a 17 year old girl?" Which is the thing. Shooting a 17 year old boy wouldn't be the same. Women, esp girls are seen as helpless, innocent and weak in our society, so there's more sympathy towards them as victims, so they're used more often to gain sympathy for the heroes, to motivate the male heroes and to gain hatred for the villain. :\ Nuking 20+ cities is not enuf cuz it's too vague and nebulous for ppl. You need to show a real live dead person and young girls are the most sympathetic dead ppl b/c of our society's unbalanced views on the genders :\

HOWEVER I rly LUFF how they decided that if she was gonna die she'd die FIGHTING and FIGHTING EFFECTIVELY. :D And to me that made a HUGE difference and it was just GREAT to see it happen :] And that she was acknowledged as having saved Mimi's life and stuff :] And just.. SHE KICKED RAVENWOOD'S ASS!! Except for Goetz cuz he has a power level of 1000000000000000. :\ So I still applaud Jericho's writers for that :D Also she wasn't created TO die, she was an established character and therefore at least she died as a character and not a prop with breasts purely to get a "OMG U KILLED A GIRL!" response. :] It's a little sad when that is something special to be applauded. XD Even if she did die for the "female victim" effect she at least died fighting and NOT being weak and helpless :] Tho having a dead girl is still seen as "worse" than a dead guy and "more horrible". :\ But at least she died a hero and not a victim. :)

AT LEAST JERKFACEWHATSHISNAMEDALE ISN'T IN THIS EPISODE!!!

God I *hate* Dale! >:| He's SO annoying and his mercernary turn this season has been unconvincing. :\ I still hate him >:O String him up with Goetz! XDD

I wish Aasif had more scenes. :( I luff him as Kenchy :D It would have been nice for him to get a role in beating Goetz since he has so much history with him, but he *did* heal Mimi. :D

What happened to Darcy's children without the medication for a night? Are they okay? :O It seemed like an excuse for her to be at the hospital at the right place and right time b/c it was pretty much brushed off and ignored. XD Not that it IS important, but with Darcy and Robert (Hawkins) both out, are they gonna be ok? Esp if they're sick without medication D:

I like Jake's way of dealing with ppl. How he let that guy go when Goetz threatened his wife and how he told Fred to go home when they confronted him as the mole at the end and not like "YOU BASTARD IMMA SHOOT YOU NOW", just like "fine k, go away now" :] I like how nice Jake is! :D But he can also be plotty and serious :D

Hawkins + Jake = invincible tho. :O Superman and Batman my cute booty XD Hawkins and Jake are the REAL World's Finest! When they're together there's NOTHING THAT CAN STOP THEM!!!! XDDD I also like how they're allies and trust each other but not like super great friends with a strong past together or nething. :] They respect each other, they trust each other and they're great allies but it's not super mooshy or nething which makes sense. :D And that they came together sorta without knowing each other at all :D

The whole Jennings and Ralls thing is sorta random tho. I mean just cuz they just recently took a huge major role and that... I agree it sounds a little cliche for the whole thing to have been planned by a giant company, cuz y'know, companies are ebil! XD I dunno... maybe it's all the capitalist propaganda I've absorbed over the years XD It just feels like it shouldn't be. But I accept that it is. And it makes sense in a way. Like ppl in control of that powerful a company might think "why dun we control the whole country?" I just hope there's a more interesting explanation than that tho, since they're re-writing textbooks and stuff to suit their more extremist idea of what America should be. And therefore, it seems more than a company wanting control than ppl who seriously want to reshape America and who are ideologues who have this vision of what Americans should think and believe. :O

I do like that J&R used their own contingency plan that they worked up for the old government in case of nuclear attacks on major cities, as a way to both enact that very scenario AND to quickly take over from it. :O It's sneaky and ebil and very insidious :D

I hope that now that Goetz is out of the way it's nonstop to Valente and Tomarchio and BEYOND! :D

I rly like that the producers have planned two endings for the season finale. One cliffhanger in case they get renewed and one that ties things up in case they don't. :D That's rly smart b/c having a cliffhanger when a series is cancelled is RLY ANNOYING but tying things up just to have another season afterwards surprise you can rly hurt the quality of the next season too when it's obv the writers are quickly trying to add more plot to a wrapped up story (like Babylon 5 and to a lesser degree JLU where they got surprise!renewed after wrapping everything up at the end of their supposedly last seasons).

In a way I'm hoping this IS the last season cuz I can't see much else for the next season. All the secrets have been exposed, the bad guys are revealed. We know who was behind the attacks, power and stuff is restored, we know who Hawkins rly is, we know what Jake did while he was away, we know EVERYTHING rly. All that sekritive stuff in season 1 has been answered. Nothing is mysterious nemore. Which kinda dissapoints me :( But at the same time things are building to a good natural conclusion and it's better that than to DRAG THINGS OUT FOREVAR AND EVAR just to have more seasons. :] So it would be nice just to get a nice ending to everything. Beat the bad guys, unite America and everything is great :D

THO

A third season might deal with how America deals with all this. Their status in the world now and if they can truly unite after having the country split literally into two seperate nations. :o Also cats. The third season would need more cats! :D

It IS hilarious tho that this unstoppable fascist government/conspiracy thing is stopped in it's tracks b/c they decided to walk into a tiny town called Jericho and the actions of just a handful of ppl who happen to be in the town completely destroy this juggernaut that brought down the most powerful country in the world! XD

It's like how in sci fi, every powerful alien empire or species or entity that has roamed space unchallenged gets completely PWNED OR DESTROYED when it reaches a tiny backwater planet called Earth. XD I just feel SO BAD for them sometimes. How EMBARESSING! XD

If I were a bad guy and I ran into some tiny place that had an overabundance of hero units in it, who were stronger, faster, smarter, nicer, kinder, more charismatic, and just BETTER, than everybody else in the whole damn universe, I'd just ignore them and move on to the next planet/town! XDD

NEWAYS... hrm...

What else did I miss. Eric rly didn't do much this episode other than talk to Stanley. I hope he does more later :D He's SUPPOSEDLY acting mayor now. He should may more! :D

Ohh.. and poor New Bern. I suppose a confrontation with Constantino will come tho, hopefully by next episode since we only have TWO left. He still needs to pay for his actions and I think he will :] Unless he turns good, but it seems more likely that Beck will finally make a full blown face turn :D HOPEFULLY!!! I am borderline about Beck and I WANT to like him and I hope he gives me lots of reasons to next episode! :D

HRMF I think New Bern is right to resist the occupation tho. It seems unfair since power and stuff is back. They shouldn't be punished for their insanity just cuz.. well they thought that everything was hopeless and gone and there was no more civilization out there to help, but there is now :] It just sucks to live under military rule in general tho D:

I guess we all knew Stanley would kill Goetz. XD Regardless of how she died, Bonnie DID die for his character's personal revenge arc :( *sighs* I'm kinda glad he shot him just cuz it causes drama and I doubt many ppl rly blame him tho it is still in cold blood. Still Goetz is such a giant asshole! >:O And I guess it'd be less satisfying if he just died by a stray bullet in the shoot out. Plus he clearly wanted to live since he surrendered. >_> It was SO nice to see him as the underarmed, outgunned person for once being surrounded and shot at by Jericho and New Bern ppls, ppl that he's hurt and killed.

Stringing him up reminds me or Morden's head being put on a pike in B5. :D It was a very fitting end to a horrible villain. >:|

I like when Stanley threw up after shooting Goetz tho. He must be SO broken up from EVERYTHING that's happened and KILLING A MAN in cold blood. It's nice to see he's NOT ttlly consumed by rage and that it DID take such a toll out of him. I like that it didn't treat his execution of Goetz like this great awesome thing that makes him feel great or something. :]

I think this is a great episode in general. It wasn't too rushed like some of the other Season 2 episodes but it didn't drag at all. It went at a fast pace, had great character moments but also advanced the plot in important ways as well :D I think this is prolly one of the best Jericho episodes I've seen yet and I rly liked it a lot :D

Oh and on a random note, I luff how Jericho still uses episode titles that's more than one word like most shows seems to have taken up doing. :O Esp like SMALLVILLE and it's "let's use one rly obvious generic word for every episode" title which I find boring and uncreative. XD I miss the Star Trek "phrases as titles" thing and stuff XD I guess I just like interesting titles where it seemed like they thought about it a little outside of "the episode is about aliens, let's call this episode "Alien" or, the episode is about somebody being afraid, let's call the episode "Afraid" ". XD

Neways next episode Beck is gonna be crazy and mad and stuff. I can't wait but I also want to wait b/c there's only 2 episodes left and given how bad the ratings have been, Jericho prolly WUN get a third season :(

If that happens tho at least they went out with a bang and an exciting 2nd season that wrapped everything up nicely! :D

And I guess that's another reason I suddenly wrote this review. :\ Just to give it a little more attention even if it's very very little since I'm not like super popularly read or nething. But I rly luff the show and I want to at least point ppl at it before it's cancelled. :]

YAY JERICHO!!!

Angelwings Rating: 5 smart Jakes out of 5 dead Goetzes
Recommendation: WATCH WATCH WATCH :DAmi Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-70001127537518587712008-03-09T23:12:00.001-04:002008-03-09T23:14:01.047-04:00Teen Titans: Year One - #3 (of 6) ReviewTeen Titans: Year One - #3 (of 6)

Synopsis: Wonder Girl flies to the UN where she sees Wonder Woman fighting UN Peacekeepers. She saves them but is confused and seeks the help of Robin, Aqualad, Speedy and Kid Flash. She cries.. alot.

Robin determines that they must team up to stop their mentors who have now gone bad. He assigns them to take on the mentors that aren't related to each teen hero in order to take away the advantage the adult heroes have which is that they know their sidekicks well.

Robin and Aqualad and Kid Flash take out Wonder Woman. Wonder Girl and Speed take out The Flash. Robin, Flash and Speedy defeat Aquaman and Wonder Girl and Aqualad capture Green Arrow. xD

They meet in the old JLA headquarters where a noncorporeal being called Antithesis appears and tells them that they've weakened him by defeating the heroes under his control but he will still destroy them. Batman appears and beats up the young heroes, but Robin manages to talk him down, telling him that he's becoming what he hates: a criminal. Batman snaps out of it and Antithesis fades away swearing revenge.

They free the heroes and there are hugs all around :D Kid Flash wonders what they should name their new team and Wonder Girl suggests they name themselves after the Titans of Greek mythology. Aqualad adds in "Teen" and the Teen Titans are born! :o

However, Batman drags Robin away from them to continue on with his duties as sidekick. D:

Review: I would have thought there'd be more to the Titans learning to be a team and having to struggle to defeat their mentors. :o That was rly.. fast :o It was just like "let's beat them up!" then they do! >_>

Donna cries a lot :o I dun mean frequently. Just like... water gushes all over the place :o Is that.. normal for her? XD I guess this is in keeping with her char from the original stories tho that she was a very stereotypical girly girl? :\ I dunno I never read them XD It's just what I hear :o

Antithesis seems boring. And I think there's an error in the dialogue involving him too. :o When Batman approaches a downed Robin, Antithesis speaks thru him and says "The most evil the JLA commits, the stronger I become."

"The MOST evil?" He means "The MORE evil" right? o_O I wonder if that was intentional and Antithesis just can't speak english or something XD or an error that slipped past the editors. o.o

I like that Robin talked Batman down and used Batman's willpower and righteousness to beat Antithesis' control :D I was just expecting a little more in the take down of the OTHER heroes. Is Superman under Antithesis' control too or just coincidentally the mentors of the Titans? Cuz that would be bad if Antithesis had Superman :(

Also the "let's be the Titans!" thing is.. I dunno.. very pat. xD It's just like "let's get from A to B" and they do. From the first couple of issues I had been expecting a lot more characterization and character moments, maybe more development of the characters as they are forced to defeat the world's greatest heroes. Instead there's not a lot of that and it's mostly things happening but we dun even get to rly see them happening :(

So that was dissapointing to me :\ Maybe it's cuz this story has been told before and this is just a re-telling, but it would be nice for more modern Titans fans who aren't familiar with the original story (like me! xD) to get a little more :D

The art is rly cute tho and I think it rly livens up the book and makes it more fun to read and enjoy :) I guess we'll see where the final 3 issues go XD I just kinda was hoping for a little more for this issue since they were fighting their mentors. :o

Angelwings Rating: 2.5 crying Donnas out of 5 funny speaking Antithesises
Recommendation: Maybe pick it up if you're following the series or a fan of the original Titans, but I wouldn't recommend it to readers that aren't invested in either the TT or this mini :\Ami Angelwingshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07263018434610100226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37444924.post-9811071509953334452008-03-09T20:22:00.003-04:002008-03-09T20:37:16.200-04:00Green Lantern - #28 ReviewGreen Lantern - #28

Synopsis: On Ysmault, a demon named Atrocitus beats up on the demon Qull who told the prophecy of the fall of the GLC to Abin Sur when he was on the planet. He blames Qull for making the Guardians leave them on Ysmault instead of transferring them to the Sciencells on Oa. He kills Qull with the first Red Lantern in his rage saying that Qull's death will lead him to freedom and revenge on the Guardians and who he believes is still the greatest Green Lantern: Sinestro.

Meanwhile on Oa, Laira stands trial for killing Amon Sur in cold blood. Alpha Lantern Bodikka finds her guilty. With the Alpha Lanterns now in place and functioning, the Guardians add the 2nd new law to the book of Oa: lethal force can be used on all enemies of the Green Lanterns. :o

Hal visits Sinestro who explains to him that he knew the Guardians would go this path b/c they believe the only way to avoid the prophecy that Abin Sur brought back from Ysmault is to destroy all powers of the emotional spectrum. :o Sinestro believes that while the Guardians will not be able to prevent the prophecy from happening, when the Blackest Night arrives, the GLC will be so feared and powerful in the universe that they will be able to crush any foe that opposes them.

The Guardians gather, worried about a flash of red in space which they believe is the birth of the Red Lantern Corps, the corps based on hate and rage. The Anti-Monitor scarred Guardian who is sekritly ebil appears and tells them that there is somebody out there calling himself Agent Orange. :o

Elsewhere, the Controllers, rivals of the guardians, believe that they must find and harness the orange light in order to keep up pace with the Guardians.

Hannu takes Laira back to her homeworld when the ship is breached and a red rin
