July 11 is "Moon Over Amtrak Day" ... an event in Laguna Niguel California that boasts an entire day of mooning the trains that go by the Camino Capistrano road.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the tradition started in 1979 when a patron at a small bar said he would buy a beer for anyone who would moon the nearby passenger trains. Since then, people have gathered there to moon the trains for free. ( Because they are insane and bored )

Last year, the crowd grew to over 8,000 mooners, and things got a little out of hand. Drunken participants were showing more than their behinds, passing out, and clogging the roads to the point that no one could get in or out. The L.A. Times reported that 50 police officers and several helicopters were brought in to shut down the event and restore order.

Due to the chaos of the previous year, the city’s officials have been discouraging people from attending the event. They have also banned on-street parking in the area, banned public drinking and urination, and announced that the police would be out in force. Ummm, banning public urination? ... was that accepted before???

This year’s crowd was down to just 100 people. Guess they all peed at home!

Jessica Biel beat Justin Timberlake at golf, then Justin's mom alledgedly urged him to have babies with her . This is shocking to me for two reasons .... one, Timberlake plays her like a fiddle, and she obviously does not have hips "wide enough" for any baby birthing.

Speaking to Gotham Magazine, Jessica Biel said, "I don't really think about those things and think, 'Oooh, yay - I've made a mark, all right.' But balancing the idea of being very sexy and then also being really attainable, kind of like a girl-next-door quality, is I think really important. To be able to bounce back and forth. [Because sometimes] the interesting characters are dark, conflicted... tortured souls; those are the characters I'm most interested in playing."

The big G8 summit reached a partial deal on global warming, and pushed for trade deal.

What does this really mean? NOTHING
They did however set a goal of limiting average temperature increase to 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) but they couldn't agree on joint emission targets to reach that goal.

C None of this is relevant unless it increases taxation and spending for the socialist machine

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is not pollution and Global Warming has nothing to do with pollution. The average person has been misled and is confused about what the current Global Warming debate is about, greenhouse gases. None of which has anything to do with air pollution. People are confusing Smog, Carbon Monoxide (CO) and the pollutants in car exhaust with the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Pollution is already regulated under the Clean Air Act and regulating Carbon Dioxide (CO2) will do absolutely nothing to make the air you breath "cleaner". Regulating Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions through either 'Carbon Taxes' or 'Cap and Trade' policies will cause energy prices (electricity, gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, heating oil ect...) to skyrocket.

The stimulus package will cost each household roughly 10,000 dollars ... that's if you divide the debt evenly. As taxpayers, we know that many people pay no tax, and others simply live off of the system. If you are a taxpayer earning over 40,000 per year, you owe the government 40,000 dollars. If this bill came to your mailbox as soon as the package was made law, would you still back it? Unemployment is still growing ....

Cap and trade is what will become the largest tax increase in the history of the universe. That's just the start of new taxes. Remember during the elections when some people warned Obama will tax and spend like some kind of renegade socialist madman? People scoffed.

A Chihuahua named Mardy has been eating 2 Hungry Man Sports Grill dinners for over 5 years and cannot gain any weight.

He is one of the world's smallest, scaling out at just three pounds. Vetrenarian Emma Kikinsooki claims that the dogs metabolism is so high, he burns up 5000 calories per day.

Mardy's favorite is the "beer battered chicken and cheese fries" ... and he eats them while watching Twins Baseball games after tee ball practice.

Two Chihuahua's, Juice Newton, and a Golden Spatula

So, here we are in the new shack. I thought everything would be unpacked and set up the way I wanted by now, but it looks more like a tornado after-math ... 10-7=3

I have been taking the whole process in chunks (about the size of a cheeseball) and do as much each day as I can without going crazy. Boxes are stupid, and that is basically what I have learned. Also, you never find what you need at first, just a bunch of spatulas. Why do I have spatulas anyway? I don't remember buying any spatulas. Maybe I should give a few out as blogging awards. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!! ... You just won the GOLDEN SPATULA AWARD (yes you) *** Spatula - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ***

One accomplishment I can claim is the "Bundle O Quintessential" man stuff I gathered on my coffee table. To live a good (and rewarding) life there are just certain must have items to be out there for the taking. The things I need, the things I covet, the things that excite me like Juice Newton in a bikini. OK ... nothing excites me like Juice Newton in a bikini, but my collective pile of goodies comes close. I have my trusty roll of tape to slap posters on the wall (of Juice Newton), some choice DVD's for my movie theater, the VIP electronic pack, magazines to stimulate my mind and also my brain, my golf trophy from the Super Chalice 5000 Tournament, my lucky wood chair, and of course .... man's BESTEST friend, THE REMOTE CONTROL.

With these items within an arms reach, I feel confident that my new residence will prove to be in harmony with nature and the forces that rule the universe. What you want to avoid is pissing off the universe and have all your primo crap disappear down a black hole vortex of time and space. Let me tell you from experience ... that sucks!

I decided to just run back and forth wearing a lamp shade for the rest of the night because I cannot for the life of me find any light bulbs.

I have always kept my personal life fairly "personal" on this blog. My objective was never to create an On-Line journal, or personal diary ... so to speak. With that said, the last month has been one that I never want to re-live again, yet I looked forward to my new start all the while, and also getting set up in my new "home". What seemed to be a far off picture in my mind of what I was "striving for", has now become reality. They say persistence and faith are what keep a man from quitting or giving up. I know that is true beyond a shadow of a doubt. Something bigger than me must have been guiding my course all along.
My road seems to have been paved with a million pot holes and detours. Every time it appeared that my tank was empty, yet one more station popped up ahead as I rolled in on fumes. Life is just that way for all of us it seems. We never make it to that perfect place, the perfect relationship, nor the perfect arena where happiness is a 24 hour a day sublime consciousness. I see the life journey as more of a long roller coaster that is always close to flying off the track in each hairpin turn.
You know, sometimes when you get lost, it forces you to find yourself once again. What's important to you, and what you stand for. I will never claim to be the best person in the world, and see my mistakes and shortcomings with a magnifying glass. I also know that deep down my soul carries with it a joy, and a love for others. My past may not be the best example of this, but I believe that self improvement and self re-creation is the strongest way to adapt, and reach out ... searching for the greatest moment of all. " The moment you can look in the mirror and see a good person ". When you can do that .... everything else seems to fall in place.

This is my first post written from the new Hollydale. This town is very similar to where I once lived, but it has far greater possibilities. The stars shine brighter. The air smells fresher, and my smile seems to last just a bit longer. I think I will like it here ....

OMGosh my life is gone crazy. So many things going on at once, my head is spinning. I was thinking of creating a post, but I just have some time here at the office and decided to banter on about absolutely nothing. Well, it is something, just not very interesting. At the moment I am in the process of moving and 10 billion other things, some really good, some bad. Stress is taking it's toll, and I am looking forward to next month when the dust will settle.
After this life tornado blows over, I hope to be back here blogging more often, and visiting the friends I have on line. Till then, I'll be the one flying by with my shoes on fire. ( ... and that's bout all I gots tah say bout` thaat ) "Like Forest Gump"

Yes, I still go on line for a bit each night, but posting and especially commenting is a time consuming process. If you look at my sidebar there are over one hundred blogs linked, and it's pretty hard to get to all of them like I used too.
My work weeks are now 50 to 70 hours again, and my side business is booming. The math is simple there ... NO TIME. Quite a switch from this winter when I was really struggling.
I have to say, I miss talking with all of you and reading your posts on a regular basis. Over the past 3 years I have met so many terrific people. Call me crazy, but bloggers just seem more open and friendly than the average people I meet out on the street. I think it stems from the need to reach out and share thoughts, stories, humor, and even sadness. In any case, I am still here alive and well, just not as often.

While out and about, I do use my cell phone quite a bit to post photos here: View my photos
I also use mobile Twitter . I get direct messages there sent to my phone via SMS.

"Opening Theme Music"

Just as stolen art, my canvass is painted on the run. The evil syndicate of Irish smugglers had used the Mona Lisa to purchase atomic weaponry. This is my story ... Bond, Speedcat Bond.

I ordered a grapefruit juice martini, and shook it.
My next step was to play poker against the Irish thugs, and crush them with my card playing debonair. Look out!!

I played my cards, and bluffed every hand. Most thought I was an idiot. Then came my shining moment ... with a Royal Flush, I bet "Five Billion" dollars... and won. An attempt was made on my life. With my cat-like quickness, I dodged 8 bullets, and received only a rip in my tuxedo. The Irish made a break for it.

I followed them to the harbor, where the chase continued to Bond island .... off the coast of Argentina

The suspects hid in the military - like facility that was inside tons of lava rock. The plan to dominate the world was falling to pieces, and the atomic bomb could not save them. I remained cool .... although it was hot, and I took off my shirt.

Sidewinders in my Covered Wagon

Travlin` all up an down these wagon trails is lonesome, and I find that many days my best friend is a tumble weed. They roll on by and listen pretty good for a spell or two. I thought I might park my wagon on Sunday and play some golf with the fellers, but NO. Gotsa keep rollin on through the canyon again all day long through rattle snake country. Damn sidewinders piss me off! Sometimes I have a partner ridin shotgun, and we shoot stuff just for the hell of it. No, nuthin` cute or alive (except for sidewinders). I am about at the end of my rope with this dusty trail ridin. Shoot ... I been workin 14 hour days since May 20th. What a crock a shit !! A man can go crazy out here, and that's no lie. Good thing I can go back in the bunk and Twitter a bunch to all my partners out there in cyberspace. I might be tellin` a line or two in the next few days - OVER. Big 10-4 from the Hollydale Covered Wagon Lines of the Great North West.

If you see any sidewinders (or dispatchers) ... shoots em dead, and tell em SpeedyCat sent cha.

Uhura: Captain Speedcat, you need to finish your space walk. We have a code yellow condition entering the neutral zone.
Speedcat: Well, what a bunch of ****. I'll be in the decompression chamber in a few minutes. Make sure that crazy Borg-a-Troid isn't in there this time.

BIG Brain: I have a massive migraine!!
Spock: Yes, I do too, but my logical mind does not care.
BIG Brain: We are sending you this message because it seems that an angry bottle of Space Budweiser is headed your way.
Spock: Interesting ... angry glass. I must assume that Scotty is to blame for this one.
BIG Brain: Negative. Seems that this bottle was ejected from a 20th century cruiser and travelled aimlessly across the universe. Other civilized aliens found pity on the bottle of Bud, and gave it super strength. It has plans to find the humans that abandoned it 700 years ago.
Spock: Interesting. Leave me alone now, there is a new transmission coming in from Commander Blalock.

Blalock: Isnaphser chhs chstes weeeeeelelelel coynervance moy moy chicka chicka zzzzooo bangk - zoooooo bangk. Memo meme menozilgater .... Vohhy!!! Vohhy!!!!!!!

Speedcat's Twin Brother Commander Bond: Brother, are you alright? The prompt cyberport alert was sounded here. Something about a renegade beer bottle.
Commander Speedcat: Yah ... we blew that ****** out of the sky. Darn thing ruined my dinner .... ohh my burrito! Talk to you later.

Spock: Well done Captain. Someday I will try and understand why you have emotional outbursts during offensive maneuvers ....
Bones: I just wish I had a beer to celebrate!

Phepping Re-Post Cauz Speedy is OUT of Time

Once again, I will be moving an old post here in place of a new one. Yes, that is cheating! I am out of time and going to bed - so here is one of my favorites from the archives.

Many have never heard the legend of the pheppings. It is a story of a secret band of river dwellers that have been lost in the archives of human existence. Save the whales? Sure ... that's nice, but they are just fish. (OK, mammals) ya ya ya ...

Centuries ago, there were thousands of Pheppings. They were nomadic in nature, but mainly indigenous to the plains in the Midwest regions of America. Some say that they migrated from Canada during the 1700's, which seems totally plausible. Canadians like to huddle in groups of 5 or less.
What is concerning to me is the demise and loss of breeding grounds for the phepping. They have lost most of their natural habitat to urban sprawl, which also causes global warming. (so does blogging)
The phepping has resorted to pooling tribes along the Sagootchie Creek Bed in Mankato Minnesota. There, they congregate and eat chicken from the KFC dumpsters after closing. Restaurants throw away tons of food! (also causing global warming)

Here are the traits and characteristics that outline just what it is to be phepping. Please save this outline to your Google Documents for further review, then E-mail your friends. This story needs to be told .... somewhere, somehow.

1. They have a language based on Norwegian / Swedish slang, mixed with English and Spanish terms. An example sentence structure might look like this ...

"Peeka Seeka kikin hungree ... Verganz me cole oww har! Me's gettin em sem gravy. (grunt ~ grunt) Gettim outa me riva mothee effie?"

2. They crouch down and protect their food. Many pheppings are compulsive criminals.

3.Pheppings routinely wash their hands in the river, but rarely bathe. They have an odor reminiscent of dead carp doused with arm-pit sweat. You will probably smell a phepping long before catching a rare glimpse of one.

4. Many have families, but spend little time socializing. They are far to schizophrenic to ever become close to one another, nor any human.

5. Pheppings LOVE sticks, and whittle them into spoons and other beach tools.

6. They hunt and gather .... all of the time. One report from the "Underground Culture Blog" proved that pheppings will bury thousands of items gathered up from backyards of nearby neighborhoods. They return in the spring (like squirrels) to re-organize and trade treasured belongings.

7. Pheppings are endangered, and need our help.

Old House Sinking

As whispers of night and darkness loom black against a blanket of stars, what light remains becomes a glowing entity of it's own. What we see is often over shadowed by the contrasts and hues in the fields of vision.
Is what we perceive a reality or a blended conglomeration of past and present? To paint a portrait on canvas is a creation in the mind. As human nature interacts with surroundings, the outline is blurred by personal priority and judgement. Only as the slate of cognitive filtering is removed ... can true colors await.
The view from the window is never quite as interesting as an open door to possibility.

Google Friend Connect and Blogger do NOT Mix Using Internet Explorer and Cause Page to Crash

I wrote this 4 days ago: Blogger blog not opening with Internet Explorer? ... Follow with Google Friend Connect is Causing Problems ... and the post has been linked to many times because it fixes a blog that will not open. I notice that many bloggers have commented that "I have not noticed anything wrong", then went directly to that blog and boom, the page crashed. Unless your blog runs correctly with ALL browsers, you are loosing readers. It does not matter if you installed Firefox and all seems fine! Contrary to some belief, the vast majority of web users still run Internet Explorer. This is why I utilize many different browsers to test the viability of my own blogs. Problems just happen every now and again.
