Open House Thank You

Tonight we finished the first phase of our marriage event ternion--we had an open house at the Springville Art Museum. The night was well spent and we had a great time getting acquainted with old and new relatives alike on both sides of our soon-to-be family. A special thank you goes out to all of you who were able to make it to the gathering--we are extremely grateful for the love, support and encouragement that you gave us during our meetings. For those of you who were not able to make it, we understand that other engagements come up that take precedence, and we hope to be able to get to know you better at a later date. We will try and get pictures up soon for your at-home viewing pleasure, as well as a possible wedding video that should be quite enjoyable upon completion of editing. Our next step now is to await the actual wedding that will take place on the morning of December 14th at the Mesa Arizona Temple, following which will be a formal reception at the Wrigley Mansion. If these events go over even half as well as tonight's event did, we will indeed be very happy. I'm voting that these events will even be much better, which does not seem fathomable at this point. Divine Comedy Dates

If you have read our wedding website you probably have realized that Joseph wrote the entire thing. So, I'm going to write a little more concerning how we met.

Before Joseph and I met at the comedy show, we had already interacted in a limited way on an online forum run by a group of friends. No, we did not meet through an online dating service. This forum is composed of a group of friends who wished to stay in contact after many left BYU. It is a place where we discuss various topics from politics, religion, philosophy, semiotics, to relationships, movies, books, and art. Both Joseph and I had friends on the forum, but had never met each other, until a group of our friends decided to attend a Divine Comedy show. We met in line, but interacted little until after the show when we all discussed the show and walked home. I remember thinking that Joseph was hilarious and that he was pretty cute. As Joseph says on the wedding website, soon after that we were hanging out, driving Dana to the airport, and finally dating.

While we dated we attended a few more Divine Comedy shows. At one of them, Joseph managed to elbow me in the forehead and our good friend Sarah managed to catch our reactions. Here is that picture:
