J...Terri,
We're so behind on a phone chat already! Just to clarify to you as well as my other readers, my original thoughts on election (expressed near the top of the article) certainly have grown and changed. I believe that we are all condemned to hell because of our sin, and he unfortunately did choose to reject Christ. I do indeed now place that responsibility back with him. Fallen man is at enmity with God. Only through His grace and mercy given to us at the cross, can any of us be saved from death.Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05694521143609595819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36661610.post-2816309158594443652007-01-19T12:08:00.000-05:002007-01-19T12:08:00.000-05:00I wasn't actually going to comment on this post bu...I wasn't actually going to comment on this post but the more I thought about it the more I felt compelled to write. As you know, I do not believe in predestination so this is from my standpoint. PLEASE check out this link http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/destined.html

I am not a fan of discussing issues such as this via a blog, email or otherwise as I prefer to talk in person when things require such back and forth views & discussion. I wish that Joe & I could sit in your living room and chat but that isn't possible so I am going to try and avoid this subject in the future.

I don't think God condemed your Pap to hell but it is unfortunate and sad if he didn't choose to accept the love of God. HIS blood was/is applicable to ALL - all we need to do is apply it.Terrinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36661610.post-62134395336981449372007-01-17T19:10:00.000-05:002007-01-17T19:10:00.000-05:00This might sound harsh, but more often than not, I...This might sound harsh, but more often than not, I'm very glad that I didn't know Pap as well as you did. I don't think I would be able to wrap my mind around it either. And I have taken the time to write letters, etc. probably at least partially influenced by that reality.Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05694521143609595819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36661610.post-72051402504538135282007-01-17T16:14:00.000-05:002007-01-17T16:14:00.000-05:00Just thinking...Does the fact that Pap never got s...Just thinking...Does the fact that Pap never got saved make you witness to people more or less? I'm so thankful that you have been searching the scriptures and counsel from others...it is sometimes hard to grasp...the balance between God's sovereign grace and man's responsibility...and about your grandfather, this made me so sad....I would wonder why, too! I ask why a lot,but have come to the conclusion, like you, that God has to do what He pleases for His glory...or He would not be God.

I sure do not understand it all.

BTW,I have gone to Irish Calvinist blog a lot lately...from your blog(thanks!)...now he is one of my favorites! he has a great deal of wisdon and depth that is hard to find in the blog world. My husband and I have been reading it.(actually my 14 year old, too!)

praying for you today-

KimKimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06223175539772172259noreply@blogger.com
