There will be another face at Bush Pilot mid-summer 2008. We're pleased to announce the addition of another human being as a result of some off season activities between Mr Smoke and Ms Haley. While we are keeping the sex of the imminent offspring a surprise, we're reasonably sure that it's human.

We don't expect this will change much for the summer riding season, except for Barb maybe toning things down a notch or two for a few weeks. Better take advantage of this situation while you can, as it's not often that you get a chance to outride Barb.

Smokehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12141364003614635339noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36524549.post-79396159061253095502007-11-21T12:19:00.000-08:002007-11-21T12:22:44.244-08:00Gilliard Trail Day

Saturday November 24th, 2007

Last weeks major wind storm took a huge toll on the Gilliard Trails. These estrogenically oriented rides are just an informal riding session with like minded girlies from the south Okanagan. All skill levels and styles are welcome, with several groups going every week.

Meet at the back of the shop at 5:30. We will be offering shuttles on an infrequent basis throughout the year, and Barb will be leading the downhillers this coming Tuesday, May 29th.

See you there.

Smokehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12141364003614635339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36524549.post-50835244469790839222007-05-01T16:59:00.000-07:002007-05-01T17:01:54.169-07:00Seymour Trail Day - May 6th

Our last trail day on the Shore. Unlike the old RaceFace contest, "Crap On My Desk" (which I thought was really cool and so am obviously emulating), I don't require any stories, or homemade videos, or anything like that.

Just show up...

You heard me.

Just ... Show ... Up.

Starting this week, anyone who wants to come up and hang out in Westbank is more than welcome to visit. I have several layers of dirtbag accommodations available, from bunkbeds, to tents (we like to refer to this part as "The Gaza Strip"), to patches of dirt in the yard. Bonus points, redeemeable for nothing at all, can be earned by helping out with local trail maintenance or giving gifts of twisty spikes to the local bike shop.

Some conditions:

Please be tidy and respectful. We have neighbours and tenants.

Any paying customers and other committments that we have take precedence over your dirtbag needs.

Donations are gladly accepted and will be put towards the hot tub fund.

Beer and food are considered valid forms of bribery.

You really should contact me before you arrive, just to make sure that we're even here.So if you're up on all that, then drop me a line at bpbiking@gmail.com or hit me on the cel phone at 250 826 4766.

My real season gets going in late June, so really, this is only a valid offer for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Get on it, ya skids.

Smokehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12141364003614635339noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36524549.post-13503612569548531812007-03-30T11:08:00.000-07:002007-03-30T11:11:55.140-07:00New Location and Contact InfoWith our move, we've got a new phone number and address. While we love the North Shore and will always consider it home, the rise in costs associated with living there has made it all but impossible to remain. We also realized that over the last few years we have been spending more time riding outside the Lower Mainland than in.

As well, our clients have responded more positively to the riding in the Interior of BC than that of the coast. The singletrack of the North Shore is but a small (albeit important) portion of the total resource wee have at our fingertips. The Okanagan region is ideal in it's central location, bringing the Kootenays in reach while still in striking distance of Vancouver.

This move represents a new phase for Bush Pilot Biking. Rest assured, we will continue to pump the best tours available in Western Canada, if not the world. Tours for the upcoming season were planned with this change in mind, and will only benefit from this move. Our new base of operations will be able to handle a whole new clientele, namely the Vancouver riders looking for some variety. It also opens the door for expansion, a door which is currently firmly closed on the North Shore.

The next few years look very exciting and challenging, and we're looking forward to those challenges.

Sincerely,

Johnny Smoke and Barb Haley

Smokehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12141364003614635339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36524549.post-8499474941369481212007-01-15T10:44:00.000-08:002007-01-15T10:51:40.288-08:00We're Riding Knolly! We're pleased to announce that we're riding Knolly bikes for the forseeable future.
