What A Fine Broad Kingdom....

In the world there are invisible ladders,leading step by step to the summit of heaven.There is a different ladder for every group, a different heaven for every path. Each one is ignorant of the other's condition in this wide kingdom which has no end or beginning.

This one is amazed at that one and wonders why he is happy,while that one is astonished at this one and asks why he is amazed.

God's earth is spacious.Every tree springs up from a certain soil.The leaves and boughs sing thanks to God:"What a fine, broad kingdom."

The nightingales hover around the fruiting blossom,calling, "Give us some of what you drink."

The Window Through Which We Look

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning,while eating their breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging washed clothes outside.
The laundry is not clean, she said.Perhaps she doesn't know how
to wash correctly. Her husband looked on but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, she would make the same comments.

About one month later,she was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband....Look she has learned how to wash correctly....I wonder who taught her this?

Her husband said...I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.

And so it is with life... What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

FENCE

What is the purpose of a fence? To guard and protect. If there's a hole in the middle of the street, the municipality comes and erects a fence so that no one should get hurt by falling in. The fence keeps us safe from danger.
Similarly,when we find a "hole" in our life, we need a fence to avoid falling in, and hurting ourselves and others.

We need devices to help us avoid stumbling into errors.
We all make mistakes.

But few of us learn from them fall into them again and again.

We often ask ourselves: what is the purpose of life?Is it to be born again and again.The answer is NO.

Today's newspaper becomes waste paper of tomorrow.Once we have finished the newspaper,we do not like to read it again and again.

Similarly,we have been given this birth and have gone through varied experiences of pleasure and pain.We should, therefore, pray now:
"O Lord, You have given me this life, and I have gone through all the experiences of pleasure and pain.I do not want to have another birth.Please take me across the tumultuous ocean and grant me liberation."

Criticism

Do you love criticism? Probably not. Most people see criticism as a personal attack which triggers all kinds of defense mechanisms.
Actually, a business will pay big money to hire consultants to tell them everything they're doing wrong! They'll hang a suggestion box -- and if there's a chance to improve business even the words of the junior most are considered by the CEO.
So why does that same CEO get angry when he comes home and hears suggestions from his wife?
The answer is that he's focused on making more money, but may not be focused on becoming a better person.
Realize that every mistake carries with it a negative consequence. By helping to clarify the personality flaw that caused the mistake, criticism can save you from future loss. Your friend will tell you when you've got spinach stuck in your teeth, while your enemy will smirk and say you look great!
As the Sages say: "Better the criticism of a friend, than the kiss of an enemy."

Every Thing Is Fine

To a truly contented and enlightened soul everything in the world, which means the way the world is right now, is just fine. To the unenlightened and discontented soul, this will look otherwise.
Now imagine if a group of actors go to the theatre, for their evening performance, and on entering the stage, start shifting the backdrop, altering the scenery and moving the props around.
Rather they should totally concentrate on the role they need to play to the best of their ability. And so it is with the world.The backdrop to our life is the way things are at this moment in time. The props are exactly where they are meant to be at this moment in time. Many people spend their whole lives trying to change the backdrop and move the props around, little realising the futility of the exercise.
Yes, they may succeed in altering an angle here or there. But all at the cost of the focus and the energy needed to put on their best performance.Little did they realise that if they had fully focussed on their performance and achieved their own highest standards of excellence, not only would those around them be immensely enriched, but the backdrop and the props of their life would have changed automatically.
Excellence is a much more powerful influence in the world than discontent. So everything is fine out there. No one said it's perfect. But it is exactly the way it should be ...at this moment. So if we want to influence change for the better, then the most effective way to begin is with contentment with the way things are.
The way things are, are the way things are meant to be...
