So, the last few weeks have been CRAZY GOOD. We bought our FIRST HOME and are thrilled, we close on July 16th. If you want to see it, you can go see it at THIS LINK.

The house in itself has been AMAZING, but I received AN OFFICIAL engagement announcement for my daughter and future son in law. They are getting married December 19, 2009.

So the remainder of this year is going to be VERY exciting. Just to highlight a few things that are going to happen before the end of the year:
1. I am moving to a new home in July.
2. I will be launching my registration for my 10 year scrapbooking convention that I put on, August 10th.
3. I will be having the convention the last weekend of September.
4. I will be going to South Africa the last part of October.
5. Family Christmas/Thanksgiving in our new home.
6. Wedding of my only daughter (we are doing the invitations and decorations, so I will be busy with that too.)

This of course is on top of the 'regular' Pazzles travel and teaching.

Relay for Life

Almost every person I know has been touched by cancer in there lives, whether it is themselves, a close family member or a good friend. I have had many people in my life have cancer, and can happily say, that many of them are survivors.

Cancer touched me before I was ever born. The year of my birth, my grandfather died of lung cancer. He was a photographer and the products he used caused his lung cancer. Then just one month before I was born, my brother, age 11 died of leukemia. This was in 1963. The knowledge and research done by the American Cancer Society would have probably saved one or both of their lives and/or extended it. Another brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007 and is in complete remission, thanks to the research that has gone into this. I have had two aunts lose breasts to mastectomy's about 30 years ago, that now could be saved with the help of research. I have lost a couple of very close friends in recent years and it is for all of these people and many others that I am doing this.

I will be walking next weekend on June 19 from 6pm-6am. My goal is to walk the entire 12 hours with some small breaks in between. I am asking for donations to help. Please CLICK HERE to donate...in the participant, it is Klo Oxford.

This week is kind of a hard week to check in. I gained 1.2lbs this week. I'm not stressing about it, because I'm still doing everything right. I know that good sleep is needed (I had a 40 hour period with only 10 hours of sleep last week), plus I know that flying can mess with your weight and really felt that I was going to maintain or possibly gain. But I'm going to keep on keeping on.

A friend of mine, a nurse, who has done a lot of research about dieting, had given me information about the various popular diets including Atkins, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and the South Beach Diet.

She then mentioned a diet about which I hadn't heard previously, but which she insists works for almost everyone, here is a link to read more about it.

Okay, this is VERY hard for me to do, but I need to be held ACCOUNTABLE and this is one way to do it....I'm shaking so bad and have butterflies, but I hope that by me sharing, maybe it will help to inspire you to eat a little healthier so we can be around for our loved ones even longer.

Okay, so I can't hide it anymore, the Reverse Anorexia isn't working anymore (as long as the mirror was only on the upper body and I had no photos, I could tell myself that I 'didn't look THAT bad"), The Alzheimers Bulemia is just flat out not healthy (eat and eat, then forget to throw up).

Well, I got my kick in the butt when I went out to Idaho and was at Pazzles. I'm going to have an opportunity to go to South Africa in October and there is NO WAY that I'm going to be on a plane for almost 24 hours with this huge fat butt and body. It is bad enough that I'm uncomfortable for a 1 hour flight.

Anyway, I weighed myself on May 5th and the scale was at the highest I have ever seen it for me (note: SEEN it, I KNOW I was heavier at some point, because I was wearing pants that were 26 at one point and I wear mostly 20 or 22's now) it was 285.6...now on a 5'4" frame, that is NOT good. In order to be the right height for my weight, I'd have to be something like SEVEN feet tall.

Well, I have now started frequenting the HUNGRY GIRL (LOVE this site btw) website and have rejoined Weight Watchers and have lost 15.6 lbs so far, but even more amazing than that, I have started to cook....I would say AGAIN, but let's face it, I haven't ever really cooked, because I always hated it. Can I just say, I'm an AMAZING cook...whodda thunk? I bought a George Foreman grill and have been having a blast with it and my family (especially DH) LOVES it. It used to be when I cooked I would call anyone that delivered.

Okay, so the whole cooking thing is pretty amazing I know, but get this....I have been going to the GYM. I KNOW, isn't that the craziest thing you ever heard? I'm twice the woman that any of the people that are there are, but that is okay, because I'M DOING IT. Yesterday, I didn't make it to the gym, but I still got on my treadmill at home and...sit down for this, I RAN for one WHOLE minute, then walked for about 6 more, then RAN one more minute. Okay, TRUE, I'm sure it was a scary sight and probably shouldn't have been seen by young children and people with weak stomachs, but hey, it is a start.

WARNING: I'm sharing photos of my 'beginning'. They are NOT PRETTY and if you are in anyway faint of heart...don't look, cuz it is BAD. I'm in a sports bra and shorts. Also, I would have smiled except that they took the pictures so fast, I didn't have time and besides that, DD had to leave for work. Okay, LAST WARNING, I do not look good, but if you really want to see, then CLICK HERE. (OMG, I CANNOT believe that I'm SHARING those with everyone...talk about pressure to keep at it)

Cutting with Chris in Idaho

I'm in Idaho with Chris (the wonderful lady that introduced electronic die cutting to the crafting industry and owner of Pazzles). I'm staying at her house tonight before I take off to go see my new grandbaby that will be here on Tuesday, April 21.

Anyway, we are here playing and learning and having fun with our Pazzles, and decided we wanted to share a FREE FILE with everyone tonight. Chris did the butterfly and the title is one that I created while teaching Erm (my mother in law) how to use her Pazzles.

My apologies that it is only in wpc, ai and dxf formats. I don't have my other programs on this computer to convert over for you if you have other cutting software.

You may or may not know that I will be having grandchild #8 on April 21. He will be my oldest son, Sam's, first biological son, so it is pretty awesome.

Sam left for boot camp on March 17. It was a hard decision, but one that he knew he needed to do to help take care of his family and serve his country. He will end up missing the birth of his son, (ironically, his father missed his birth almost 26 years ago, because he had to report to a new job too)

Anyway, I will be there when the baby is born and I'm going to be taking photos and chronicling his birth for Sam. I'm trying to have the book ready for photos on the day of Kelton's birth, so that I can overnight it to Sam and he can be a part of it too. I'm doing an 8 x 8 book and this is the first page. I want to share some files that I am creating for that

I am finally starting to work on my family trip to Yellowstone last summer. So I'm going to be sharing files as I go. This first page is going to be my title page...but with the trend of paper cut in cool shapes for a background, I decided to create and design some and will be sharing them with you. Here is the first one. I names it Bracket Paper..........OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH, AAAAAAAAHHHHHH...pretty profound name and apparently spent HOURS coming up with that name....hehehehehe.
