As an educator myself, I can tell you, stop writing your books and selling your strategies all you administrators out there, come visit 'Nado Graduation and you'll know what it's all about. I could speak a million and a half words and you wouldn't get it. But I'll try anyway. There are on average about 22 kids per class at this K-8 school. That is 22 ish in the entire 8th grade! My youngest son's class has 13. 13! The teachers at this school give these kids such an incredible send off that I (the guy that has a camera glued to his face at all times) forget that I have a camera in my hands and get lost in the moments. This is such a personal experience to every student and teacher, I can't even begin to explain...tears, pride, happiness...it's really good stuff. The students are recognized on multiple levels, the whole town shows up to celebrate. The pics here: student with happy pride to be recognized, student and teacher singing a duet that the student composed, and watching a slideshow. I can't possibly tell all the moments here, there are too many. Small school, teachers that go the extra mile, and a ceremony that no cynisist or bean counter has managed yet to shut down. It's simple and doesn't require a post bacheloriate. Half the graduating class went to a late night dinner with the teachers after this. Read the last line again. Good night.

Adamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07156299959013574275noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3618354661556175914.post-41425400289609120982009-06-13T23:03:00.000-07:002009-06-13T23:04:45.796-07:00Maples Girls
Karen and Cherith. I hope I live that long. These are good people. This photo has a lot of problems technically. The white balance sucks, no crisp focus, shadowy eyes, and it has the blotchy sickness of high ISO shooting on digital. But. It's one my favorite shots that I've taken lately. These are a few images of my pre-quill walk through. Nice stuff. I have photographed, much and often here...looking forewared to the next! My favorite in this photo set is: Duck Butts!

Adamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07156299959013574275noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3618354661556175914.post-89307662860060701112009-05-25T00:27:00.000-07:002009-05-25T00:28:06.759-07:00Reflections...<img style="display:block; This Spring Waylon Owen's brought in two of his custom choppers. These are works of art. I could spend a thousand words on this. Nothing in an art museum is more worthy than these bikes. My long time buddy and mentor, Tom Owen, helped out with lighting and expertise. Every time I am around him I learn something new! I love these pictures in that they show some of the people involved: Dale - bike owner, Greg - autoshop guy, students and bikes. This was a good day. :) Really, I mean it.

Adamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07156299959013574275noreply@blogger.com0
