Having ezine articles published is the best online free promotional resource available.

If you can write an interesting article, you can have it published on article directory websites with a link back to your website. Anyone who reads your article and finds the content interesting can use the link to click through to your website to look for further information.

Writing and publishing articles is also a good way to help your website visitors to get to know you. Reading articles you have written will help people to decide in advance if they might be interested in the products or services offered at your website.

However, even webmasters who fully appreciate the potential benefits of writing ezine articles, still baulk at the idea of actually writing their own articles. I have seen people with no previous experience of the Internet, start their first online business and learn step by step all about building websites, choosing affiliate products, online advertising and even advanced html coding. They take the learning of these new skills in their stride but, when someone suggests they write articles, they won't even give it a try.

Writing articles for ezines is not difficult, it is mostly a matter of practising; the hardest article you will ever have to write is the first one, after that it just keeps on getting easier. If webmasters approached the subject of article writing the way they approach learning html or any of the other things they have taught themselves since they got their first website, they would soon find themselves writing articles as a matter of course. They would find out that there are many online resources to help them get started and to improve their article writing skills.

Read my article about Free Website Promotion Through Writing Ezine Articles - Getting Started

technorati tags:
Ezine Article Writing
Free website promotion

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-88733473053582577522008-01-11T11:42:00.000-08:002008-01-11T11:50:21.930-08:00Get Paid To Give Away Credit Cards - Best New Year Home Business IdeaChristmas is over and the holiday season is only a warm memory of indulgence and good cheer. Christmas decorations have been packed away until next December looms, the greetings cards have been recycled, and it is back to everyday life.

It is January, bank accounts are depleted, payday is a long way off, and credit card statements are starting to arrive. Everyone who denied overspending at Christmas is now faced with documentary evidence of their excesses. The people who overspent seriously are now starting to worry about how they can prevent the credit card debt from spiralling out of control while being able to afford to eat for the rest of the month.

This is the perfect time of year for anyone who has a <a href="http://www.huntingvenus.com/mccc.html"target="_blank">home based business giving away credit cards. If you are looking for ways to make money working at home, you should give serious consideration to taking advantage of the offer of a month's free trial of <a href="http://www.huntingvenus.com/mccc.html"target="_blank">My Credit Card Cash - there are no hidden charges, all you are asked to pay is a one time fee of $1 (yes, that is meant to be one dollar, it's not a typo!) to have your customized website set up.

There must be thousands of people desperate to find a new credit card deal with favourable balance transfer terms to bail them out of their post-Christmas problems and you could be earning generous commissions by showing them the latest deals online.

This might sound like encouragement to try to profit from the misfortunes of others but it isn't. You would be putting people in touch with something they are looking for anyway, not persuading them to take on something they can't afford.

This isn't a money lending scheme that would land people in trouble with loan sharks; these are genuine credit card deals offered by recognised financial institutions. If you visit the <a href="http://www.huntingvenus.com/mccc.html"target="_blank">MCCC website, you will immediately see that the deals on offer include some banks which are household names.

This is a legitimate work at home program which can benefit both parties. You would be getting paid to give away credit cards, thereby helping the people who take them on to get themselves out of trouble.

If you are in need of some financial leeway with your own credit card, you can even give a credit card away to yourself and still earn commission on the deal. Could it be any cooler?

Take a look at <a href="http://www.huntingvenus.com/mccc.html"target="_blank">My Credit Card Cash today and you will see everything I have said here is completely true. This could be the best work at home idea you will see all year.

technorati tags:
My Credit Card Cash
Get Paid To Give Away Credit Cards
Work At Home Opportunity
Best Home Business Idea

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-24049061828988053882008-01-07T02:42:00.000-08:002008-01-07T04:07:28.472-08:00Don't Settle For LessWhen you have a home business, the amount you earn depends entirely upon your efforts. You won't be slaving away to fill somebody else's bank account in return for a minute share of the profits you have helped to earn. Every penny of profit you generate from your home business is yours. If that's not an incentive to give a home business your very best shot, I don't know what is.

Sadly, many people who have their own small business at home settle for less than they could be earning and, in some cases, they settle for much less even though they are capable of earning extra income from their home business. These people find a way to make money at home, manage to generate some extra income and then just cruise instead of looking for more ways to make money.

When I was browsing through some forum posts about working from home recently, I was struck by two posts about making money working at home. The posts were both made by stay-at-home mothers and, although each was running a different type of home business, their situations were quite similar. The striking thing they had in common was that they were each earning about $120 per month and were not looking for ways to increase their income.

One lady who worked as an Avon rep said that she enjoyed her work and it took up very little of her time. All her extra income went into the family's vacation fund. OK, every little helps but an extra $120 a month does not really make a big difference to a family's finances. With a little extra effort, this lady could easily double her income from working from home.

One way of getting more income would be to start a completely different home business and run it alongside the Avon business. This is perfectly feasible because the Avon business only takes up a few hours each month. The other way of easily getting extra income would be for the Avon lady to offer additional products to her existing customer base.

The type of product would, of course, need to be geared to suit the type of people who make up the existing customer base. They obviously like cosmetics, so the occasional offer of upmarket perfume of luxury skin treatments could be warmly welcomed. Perhaps they would be interested in lingerie or books or environmentally safe cleaning products. If they are mothers of young childen, they could be offered items for children (eg clothing, books, educational materials or toys). These additional offers could be made by the introduction of catalogues or by way of direct sales parties (as long as you don't host these events too often).

The trick to succeeding with this is to avoid earning a reputation for being a marketing pest. Additional lines should be gradually introduced in such a way that the existing customers feel they are being offered an extra service rather than being asked to buy things. They should be made to feel that they are getting a chance to buy instead of feeling they are having something sold to them (this might sound like the same thing but there is a subtle difference).

If a person buys something from you and is satisfied with it, they become your "warm market" who will be happy to make future purchases if you offer them something they need.

Don't settle for less when you could be getting more.

technorati tags:
Extra Income
Make Money At Home
Home Business

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-88061008921801958632008-01-01T05:05:00.000-08:002008-01-01T11:03:56.611-08:00Happy New Year 2008January 1st 2008. Happy New Year!

Just a few months short of my fourth anniversary of working at home. My, my how time does fly. January 1st was always a horrible day in my calendar when I was working outside home ("working for the man" as my American friends call it). I loved the long Christmas and New Year break from work but on January 1st I felt like a condemned person enjoying one last day of freedom. I always became so depressed, I couldn't even enjoy this final day of freedom, the knowledge of what the next day held cast a huge shadow over my life. Today is different: I am happy and very much looking forward to getting back to my normal work. The Internet has been very quiet all through the holiday but it is starting to come out of its sleeping beauty slumber. Working at home will start to get exciting again as all things online get busier and the pressure starts to build.

I don't normally make New Year's resolutions because any day is a good day to make changes to one's life, you don't need a date to help you, but I thought of a resolution today. If I was making an official resolution today it would be to make things happen and to spread the word to other people so they can make things happen for themselves.

Working at home running my own business has made me realise how much each person can achieve on his or her own. Being in the right place at the right time or just having a stroke of good old fashioned luck can have a big affect on your life but you can multiply that by taking positive action of your own. Replace "I can't do that" with "I will learn to do that" and you are on your way to a "Make It Happen" attitude. We all encounter obstacles at some time in life but dealing with obstacles makes us stronger and better equipped to reach our goals. If you treat obstacles as steps you can enjoy the view when you look down and realise how high you have climbed.

Some people think being your own boss is difficult. Well, it can be but it is certainly not impossible. Many people fail when they try to run a home business because they don't have faith in themselves, but we can always do more than we think we are capable of. The big mistake is to let fear prevent us from setting ourselves ambitious goals.

Anyone who wants to make money online, can do it (from anywhere in the world) if they are prepared to work - it can even be done with little or no cash investment. If you choose an Internet based home business, all you need is an Internet connected computer, some time and a willingness to learn new skills.

If you have an ambition to make money at home with your own business offline, it will most likely cost more to set up and take you longer to get into profit, but it is still possible to succeed as long as you are prepared to work and do not lose faith in yourself.

If you want to achieve a goal, learn to believe in yourself and decide to Make It Happen.

technorati tags:
Being Your Own Boss
Work At Home
Internet Based Home Business
Home Business
Make Money Online

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-14840472515321161952007-12-26T03:28:00.000-08:002007-12-29T04:28:34.662-08:00Your Own Home Business - Be Grateful For The InternetDo you have your own home business? If you are one of the many thousands of people who have their own Internet based home business, there are reasons why you should start your day in an attitude of gratitude.

If you are below a certain age, you won't remember a time before the Internet existed, a time when nobody had a home computer, a time when there were no ATM's, a time when there was no cable TV, a time before cell phones were invented. In fact, at the time I have in mind (and I do remember it) hardly anybody had a home phone; they were reserved for businesses and rich people: ordinary Joes like me had to go out and make calls from public phones. Fortunately, vandalism hadn't been invented, so the public phones worked ok, it was just a matter of not having the convenience of a phone in your own home.

How easy do you think it would have been for you to start your own home business in that time? Compared with starting an Internet home business, it would have been very hard, and costly in terms of cash and time investment. Think about the advantages the Internet gave you when you decided to start your own home business and let that attitude of gratitude into your heart.

These are five of my favourite reasons for being grateful that I live in an age where technology has given me so many advantages.

1. Freedom

Freedom just has to be the absolute top reason for practically all people who have their own successful home business. You have complete freedom to come and go as you please. You can work the hours which suit you. If you need time off, you don't have to justify your reasons to a boss who enjoys these moments of power. If you want to change your schedule, you can just do it. Take a minute now and again to remember how lucky you are to have no boss breathing down your neck.

2. Flexibility

Flexibility is a close second in my top five reasons to bless the Internet. Most people who work at home, chose a home business because they needed flexible hours to fit in with their family schedule. Most of these home business owners are women who chose to become stay at home mothers because they know they are the best people to look after their kids.

3. Doing What You Enjoy

Starting your own home business means you made a choice of what work would suit you best. You then get to do what you enjoy every day. Running a home business does involve some hard work but, when you are working at something you enjoy, it doesn't seem like work and the time flies by. Even when you have to do the odd boring chore, it won't get you down when you are your own boss.

4. Variety
Variety is the spice of life, so the saying goes, and I for one believe it's true. Most jobs have inbuilt boredom where you have to do the same boring tasks day in and day out. Being your own boss frees you of this boss-imposed routine and you get to add flavour to your working day by scheduling your tasks in a way which provides variety.

5. Being your own boss

What does being your own boss mean? For a start being your own boss means you get to do what you like when you like, you keep all the profits you earn instead of lining someone else's pockets, and you can take time off when you please. There is, however, an intangible benefit which comes with the territory: just being your own boss will alter the way you feel about yourself. Being your own boss will give you extra confidence in your abilities and your self-assurance will increase to the extent that other people will notice it and react towards you accordingly.

When you make money online, be grateful for the fact that you live in this technological age, and be grateful for the Internet because, without it, starting your own successful home business would not have been so easy.

technorati tags:
Being Your Own Boss
Internet Based Home Business
Home Business
Make Money Online

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-65414100605109933512007-12-20T03:57:00.000-08:002007-12-20T05:56:43.569-08:00Starting From Nowhere Part 6 - Talking To Your CustomerIn the first few parts of this series, we have looked at how to find your best home business idea, identifying your target market, and tailoring your promotional efforts to suit the tastes of your customers.

Talking to your customers in the right way is another key element to any home business. If you are dealing with customers face to face, talking to them the right way is much easier than communicating by phone or in writing. In addition to the words used, effective communication is aided by tone of voice, facial expression, gestures and all the subtleties of body language.

If you deal with your customers by phone, you will be helped somewhat by tone of voice but, if you are relying on the written word, you have nothing else to support you. Therefore, if your communication with your customers is going to be by email or through your website's content, your words have to be chosen carefully. It is vital that your written words are perfectly clear and make complete sense but it is also important to have the right "tone" in what you write.

This is where identifying your target market is so important. For instance, you would not speak to your boss, mother or minister in the same way you would speak to your closest friends. Writing needs exactly the same considerations: you would use different words and construction when writing notes to each of these people.

If you are going to put up a website or publish a newsletter, anyone could choose to read it. Not everyone will be interested in what they read there, but that is not your problem. You cannot successfully cater for all tastes. If you tried, the result would be so bland that it would appeal to nobody. Your object is to appeal to the audience you have chosen for yourself; this is what niche marketing is all about, after all.

If you can identify with your target market, "speaking" to them in writing will be easier. For example, if you are a biking enthusiast promoting products related to your sport, you will be inside the skin of your potential customers and that is precisely where you want to be. You will know what will interest them, what they will like and, most importantly, what they want. You will, in effect, be writing to yourself. Hence the advice to try to pick a niche on a subject for which you have a passion (or at least a degree of interest).

The next best thing to actually being in the skin of your prospective customers is to imagine your customer as one particular person. This could be a real person, ie your mother, sister, brother, best pal, or it could be an imaginary composite person made up of parts of several people you know well. If you are inventing a person, you have to be able to visualise everything about them down to what perfume they use and what clothes they would choose to wear. Inventing your perfect audience representative can be fun. The intent, however, is serious and the person you invent must seem real to you. The idea is that everything you write for your audience will be you "speaking" to this one person you have chosen.

It is easier if your target market representative is a close friend or relative. You will then have the added advantage of being able to test your promotional material on them and there is no substitute for having your material read and commented upon by another human being.

technorati tags:
Home Business Niche
Find Your Niche Market
Finding the Best Home Business
Promoting Home Business
Niche Marketer

Niche Marketing

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-18959273189026187752007-12-16T08:24:00.000-08:002007-12-16T08:54:28.940-08:00Learn To Write Articles - Reason 1: Content Is KingAnyone who wants to make money online should learn how to write articles. There are several reasons why writing articles is important, but today I'm going to focus on just one aspect of article writing: using articles as website content.

You've heard it before, but here it is again: "content is king". If you want your website to appear in the organic search engine results, you will need to make sure it contains pages of valuable unique content. The foremost reason people use the internet is because they are looking for information. As a website owner, you are a provider of information and, the better the information you provide, the more the search engines will favour you.

If you are not accustomed to writing, you probably think you are not capable of writing decent informative articles to publish on your website or blog. If you are really unable to write your own articles, all is not lost: you could hire a ghost writer to write articles to order or you could buy PLR (Private Label Rights) articles. Having articles ghost-written to your order is the better solution but can be expensive.

If your budget won't support paying a ghost-writer, buying good PLR articles would be your only real option. There are two points to note here:

1. When I say "good" PLR articles, I mean the expensive kind which are sold on a limited edition basis. Don't waste your money on cheap PLR articles that read as if they had been written by an inebriated foreigner, and are available to thousands of people to buy.

2. PLR articles should not be used just as they come, they should be re-written to at least some extent (I have seen 25% quoted as the minimum re-write requirement, although more is better) and, if you really don't want to do any writing, this is not much of a solution for you.

It is far better to learn how to write articles, and I believe almost anyone with normal literacy skills should be capable of producing reasonable articles with a little effort and some practice.

Why do people shy away from writing articles? The first stumbling block is that writing articles is not a normal activity for most people once they have left school or university. Most of us never have to write anything longer than a grocery list or a greeting in a birthday card, and writing articles is a skill we have to learn from scratch.

Let's look at learning to write articles. If you search online, you will find plenty of articles on the subject of learning article writing. I also suggest you download my free ebook, Ezine Article Writing - 10 Steps To Success, from my website and work through the steps one at a time. Once you understand how to structure an article, and have written your first attempt, becoming proficient at article writing is just a matter of practicing.

The hardest article to write is the first one, it keeps getting easier after that with each article you write.

technorati tags:
Learn To Write Articles
Ezine Article Writing - 10 Steps To Success

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-68063668818421021222007-12-15T11:07:00.000-08:002007-12-15T11:40:17.551-08:00Homeshoring JobsHomeshoring jobs are predicted to become the hottest work at home money earners for 2008.

At last it seems that it is getting much easier for people to have a virtual career and make a full-time income working at home. Throughout 2007 people have been saying "working at home has never been easier" but all indications are that we "ain't seen nothing yet" and work at home will take off in a big way during 2008.

The reason for this sudden activity on the work at home front is that the awful trend for companies to outsource customer service jobs to foreign call centers is finally over. At least it is over for residents of the United States and Canada.

Over here in the UK, we still have the problem of having to deal with overseas call centers. From the customers' point of view it is extremely frustrating to be forced to deal over the phone with staff who can't speak English well enough to be properly understood. Personally, I feel sorry for the call center staff who are undoubtedly doing their best and probably suffer verbal abuse every working day but, even so, I have to bite my tongue in the struggle to remain civil in the face of deep frustration. Apart from the language difficulty, it is impossible to get to speak to anyone who is not working from a script and who might be in a position to offer real help and it seems that lesson #1 for call center staff is "never answer a direct question". I don't care how charming the call center rep might be, when they wriggle out of answering answering questions and skirt round the issues, I start seeing the red mist.

In the USA, the tide has turned and the previously outsourced jobs are being given back to United States citizens. At the moment in the UK the situation is getting worse. It seems as if every company in the country must have made a pact to use foreign call centers. That means their customers are unable to "vote with their feet" because there is nowhere left to go. UK companies (the giant British Telecom is one example) even employ foreign staff to deal with written enquiries and complaints. To say that market research is big business is an understatement: it is huge business. Millions of dollars are spent every year by companies who need feedback on their products. Sometimes they are looking for feedback from existing customers, at other times they might be looking for input on a new idea for a product.

Discovering levels of customer satisfaction and gauging public response to new product ideas are vital. How can these companies obtain feedback? Surveys have proven to be an excellent way of getting the sort of information needed in product development and marketing. The online paid survey companies provide market research companies with the raw data upon which important decisions will based.

The reason surveys are so important to market research is that they reflect the opinions of ordinary people. Why would a survey company pay an ordinary person like you or me to give an opinion? The answer is simple: ordinary people like us are the potential customers. Panels of boffins and experts have their place in product development but, when all is said and done, the product has to appeal to the general public if it is going to be a success. Therefore, market research must include having surveys answered by the Mr and Mrs Ordinary Joe public.

So why would you expect to get paid to take surveys? The answer to that is that offering payment is the easiest way to persuade people to take the time to fill out a survey. If you have ever seen a market researcher standing in a shopping mall and trying to catch passers-by to ask them questions, you will appreciate how much simpler it is to invite people to be part of a survey and ask them to fill out the survey form online in return for payment.

Years ago, the way companies would find people to participate in their surveys would often involve mail shots. Researchers would also be employed to go door-to-door asking people to take part in surveys. The spread of the popularity of the Internet has changed all that; companies still use mail shots and door-to-door canvassing but the majority of surveys are now done online, and that is why taking surveys online is one of the top ways to earn extra income from home.

The get paid to take online surveys industry is often the first opportunity people try out when they are looking for ways to earn extra income working at home. The big mistake many of these people make is that, because they don't understand enough about how the industry works, they fail to join enough survey companies.

The fact that there are so many companies offering the chance to get paid to take surveys online means that market research companies are able to spread their business rather than just relying on one company. If you want to get the best chance to make money from filling out surveys, you will have to take the time to join as many online survey companies as you can find. Don't forget, you won't be eligible to participate in every survey a company has to offer, so it will not work if you just sign up for a couple of companies. The survey companies might have numerous surveys needing completion each day but, if your profile does not match the type of person they are looking for to complete the surveys, you won't be invited to take part.

The key to making money doing online surveys is to spend enough time at the beginning (even though it is a boring task) to join as many online survey companies as you can find. The "get paid to take short online surveys" has, for several years, been one of top ways to earn extra income working at home.

For more on the subject of how to get paid to take short online surveys, visit Paid Online Surveys Review

technorati tags:
Extra Income
Get Paid To Take Short Online Surveys
Paid Online Surveys

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-28854359994057513492007-11-25T03:50:00.000-08:002007-12-04T06:17:54.701-08:00Starting From Nowhere Part 5 - Attracting Your CustomerIf you have only just joined us in this series about starting a home business from zero, we have looked at choosing the best home business for you and how to find your ideal niche.

In Part 4 we looked at the importance of getting to know your customer, in other words identifying your target market. Knowing your market and catering to their tastes is fundamental to your success: you cannot successfully market to everybody in the whole world. Think about how different people's tastes vary. For instance, if you were going to produce a TV program, you would need to know who your audience would be before you started to plan any other details.

If you decided to produce an educational program for pre-schoolers, everything about the program would need to be designed to appeal to very young viewers. This would include the content and the vocabulary used by presenters or storytellers. The whole look and feel of the program must appeal to the right age group. You would conduct research to determine the optimum length of the program so as to match it to the attention span of your audience. Every single detail must be tailored to suit your target audience.

Promoting your home business to potential customers requires similar considerations.
Who are your potential customers? Are they senior citizens, young men, parents with young children, students, teenagers? If your intended customers were middle-aged citizens, you would not use an in-your-face hip-hop presentation; the style of presentation must be carefully matched to the tastes of the audience you wish to attract. You need to think about the language you use in your advertising and make sure it is appropriate both to your product and to the type of person you are hoping will become your customer.

If you are directing your potential customers to a website, the color scheme, the type of graphics and fonts you use will need to be carefully considered. If you are trying to sell used tractor parts to farmers, you won't want a pink fluffy website decorated with pictures of flowers. That might appeal to the odd farmer, but generally speaking a more rugged and businesslike website would be more likely to bring you success.

If you are promoting something which would appeal to several sections of society, you need to decide whether you are going to invest all your efforts into promoting to just one section or whether you will have more than one advertising campaign so that you can tailor your advertising to promote different aspects of the same thing.

As an example, think about promoting a coastal holiday resort. You might advertise it to fishermen as an ideal spot for offshore fishing with keenly priced boat hire packages. You might promote the same resort to parents with young children by emphasising the safe sandy beaches and child-friendly hotels. It is your choice whether you promote to both these groups or just select one and concentrate all your efforts there. This way, you will be presenting benefits which will appeal to your target market and avoiding the situation where you would be trying to engage two completely different types of people with a single unfocused offer.

The questions to ask yourself are: "who is my audience?" and "What are their tastes?". You must know your audience and understand their tastes before you can work on attracting them.

technorati tags:
Home Business Niche
Find Your Niche Market
Finding the Best Home Business
Promoting Home Business
Niche Marketer

Niche Marketing

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-21607254037123289272007-11-22T08:43:00.000-08:002007-11-25T01:36:54.479-08:00Starting From Nowhere Part 4 - Knowing Your CustomerNiche Marketing - Who Is Your Customer?

To talk about niche marketing makes it sound very high-tech but the phrase "niche marketing" is about avoiding the temptation to be all things to all people. Trying to market everything to the whole world is much harder than trying to sell one item to one person. Actually it's not just harder, it is downright impossible.

Different types of people have completely distinct interests. Think about pet owners. Forget for a moment, the people who create a mini-zoo at home because they just love keeping pets. A niche marketer would not try to target "all pets", it is just too wide to be successful. There are definitely "dog people" and "cat people" in the pet owning world but you would not be best advised to try to market to both types at once.

Having identified dogs as a niche you will need to dig deeper and look at possible narrower niches, for instance: puppies, guard dogs, miniature dogs, one particular breed of dog, dog toys, dog shampoo, worming treatments, dog insurance, dog travel baskets, dog leashes, dog collars, flea powders, dog training, poop-scoopers, dog breeding, dog psychology, dog feeding, weight loss diets for dogs, curing doggy flatulence, dog chews, dog beds, furniture protectors, dog hair resistant car seat covers, dog clothing, dog wardrobes, etc. You can see how this works, so I'm sure you don't need me to provide a list for cats.

It makes no difference whether you are a website owner or a shop-keeper, you must find your niche and market it to the right section of society. Think about niches as if they were shops. If you were trying to sell high-priced designer garments, you would be more successful if you were to market them through an exclusive boutique than if you had them on show in a shop alongside low-cost, low-quality attire. The consumers who will be interested in the two types of product are two entirely different sets of people and by trying to cater to both, you will attract neither.

Your customers must be able to see at a glance exactly what you are selling, otherwise they will move on to a store where the message is clear. The products you display should identify you as an expert in a particular field: eg you are either an expert at haute couture or at bargain basement clothing. You cannot establish credibility if you try to pass yourself off as an expert at too many diverse things and, if you lack credibility as a marketer, people won't come back to make further purchases.

Think about buying gifts. It is much harder to choose a gift for someone you hardly know. You don't know what they like, what they hate or if they are allergic to anything. The best you can do is go for the blandest possible item and hope not to offend. The chances of you hitting on something they will really want are so remote as to be non-existent.

Now think about buying a gift for your partner or a close friend or relative you have known for years. You know exactly what their tastes are and you can, almost without thinking, pick out a gift they will accept with pleasure.

Your niche marketing should be like giving a gift to someone you know well, it might be your partner, your brother, your girlfriend or even yourself; it doesn't matter as long as you know who you are marketing to and offer them something you know they will want.

technorati tags:
Home Business Niche
Find Your Niche Market
Niche Marketer

Niche Marketing

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-64499464545082688632007-11-17T10:37:00.000-08:002007-11-17T11:59:11.345-08:00Scam Free Work At Home JobsMany people looking for scam free work at home jobs online are reluctant to trust any opportunities they see on the Internet. This is perfectly understandable: anyone could be hiding behind the facade of a website, all they need to do is pay a few dollars extra for private registration when they purchase a domain name and their details will be hidden from the public. Work at home opportunity seekers are left with the choice of trusting a complete stranger or not trusting anybody. If they decide to take the risk and sign up for an online work at home opportunity, they might be unlucky enough to get involved in a scam but they might find the income earning opportunity they needed. If they are not prepared to trust anybody, they will certainly avoid scams but they will never find a way to make money working at home online.

I received an email today asking me this question:

"How do I know you and the companies/programs you suggest are legitimate?"

This set me thinking again about the whole problem of knowing who you can trust when you are looking for scam free work at home opportunities online. I previously published an article about doing due diligence online but here are a few basic tips to help you.

1. Look out for hype. Advertisers are going to use language that makes their product sound like the best work at home idea you could ever wish to encounter. You have to decide whether the claims made for the product are ordinary advertising "puff" or if they seem over-inflated.

2. Check out who owns the website. Go to www.betterwhois.com, type in the website url and see if the details of the owner match what is published on the website. If the owner's details are concealed, this should be taken as a warning that they might be trying to hide something (they might just want to keep their information private, but take it as a warning anyway).

3. Type the name of the website or program or program owner into a search engine along with the word "scam". What you are looking for is forum postings. Visit the forums and read what has been posted (both for and against). What you are looking for is an overwhelming trend to say whether there is a scam involved. Never forget that anyone can post anything they like online and there are people out there who will post libellous statements because it gives them some sort of warped pleasure.

4. Look for "trust seals" - eg icop, BBB Online etc on the websites. Click on the seal to make sure it is a live link. If it is just a non-clickable image or takes you to a generic web page, this is a sign of a scam. If the website owner is a member of a respected authority, clicking on the seal should take you to a page owned by the authority which confirms that the website you were visiting is a genuine member. You might also want to read my article Avoiding The Better Business Bureau Scam.

5. Trust your own instincts. If all the evidence says you are looking at a legitimate scam free work at home opportunity, but you still feel uneasy, take your investigations further. You might find that your instinct was wrong, but I am a great believer in trusting gut feelings.

There are scam free work at home programs online, you just need to take some sensible precautions and investigate them thoroughly.

technorati tags:
Scam Free Work At Home Jobs
Internet
Due Diligence
Avoid Scams

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-82394573462141741052007-11-13T08:38:00.000-08:002007-11-13T10:21:59.802-08:00Starting From Nowhere Part 3 - Finding Your Home Business NicheWhat A Home Business Niche Is, and How To Find It

Having decided that you want to start your own home-based business, the next step is to identify your niche. You might have a general idea about the type of work you want to do, but you need to identify your exact niche before you start making a business plan.

The importance of finding your business niche is something you will see mentioned time and again on the Internet but it is not confined just to Internet marketing, it applies equally to any bricks and mortar business; to be successful, a business must fit comfortably into a niche. To find your niche you need to decide on your preferred area of work and find out what market exists for particular products or services associated with your preference.

For example: you might be interested in sport, but that is too wide an area to be a niche so you must narrow your area of interest. You can do this by choosing one particular sport, let's say you are a golfing enthusiast, so your niche is narrowed considerably but golf in general is still much too wide, so you need to look at aspects of golf to locate possible niches.

You might want to teach golf, or write books about golf, or sell things connected with golf on the Internet through your own website. Any of these areas can be further narrowed down but let's assume you want to sell things connected with golf. A possible niche here is selling golf clubs but that is still very wide, it can be narrowed down to bargain priced clubs, or children's golf clubs, or used clubs, or products from one exclusive manufacturer. You could also investigate golfing attire, golf shoes, or golf bags. Another possibility is selling golfing memorabilia or books about golf on eBay. These niches could be further narrowed to relate to one particular famous golfing personality.

Each time you think you have narrowed your niche sufficiently, you should do some research to find out if there is enough of a market for what you would be offering. Depending upon the results of your research, you can then look at refining your niche further or possibly combining two niches. One word of warning: don't try to invent a mixed niche. A niche selling golfing memorabilia and golfing books from the 19th century would make sense (whether it would be profitable is for you to decide), but a niche selling golfing memorabilia and rare motor vehicle parts would not work.

Having multiple streams of income (eg selling golfing memorabilia and sourcing scarce vehicle parts) is fine, but the two must be marketed separately. In the case of our example, you would need to operate a niche website for each niche and many people do exactly that. You've heard the term "niche marketing": well, that's how it's done. To be a niche marketer just means finding a product or service to appeal to a narrow section of society. If the potential market for your niche is very narrow, you expand your business by starting up in other niches, not by trying to make your niche wider. We'll look at this a bit more in the next article in this series.

technorati tags:
Home Business Niche
Multiple Streams Of Income
Home Business

Niche Marketing

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-27684201058391880512007-11-10T08:30:00.000-08:002007-11-09T10:27:28.917-08:00Starting From Nowhere Part 2 - Choosing The Best Home BusinessChoosing The Best Home Business - A Question In Two Parts

Deciding whether starting a home business would be the right thing for you is bound to be tricky if you have never run a business before. The decision is really in two parts: you have to decide whether running a home-based business is the right thing for you and also what type of business would be best.

Finding the solution to the second part of the question will usually automatically answer the first part. Answering one question will usually give the solution to both. I'll explain how that works in a moment, but first lets look at the two parts of the question separately.

Many people shy away from the idea of running a home business. They need to make an income and they want to work from home but the minute you refer to this as a home-based business, they will back off. The talk of being self-employed, sole trader, or business owner seems to bring out the inner mouse in some people. I have to admit that I showed definite mouse-tendencies when working at home was what I wanted: I wanted a job I could do working at home, I had no ambitions to have my own business and the idea seemed very complicated and scary.

Look around at the people you know who are working from home. Examples of the ones I can think of myself right away are: the man who does the Kleeneze round, the lady who sells cosmetics from a catalogue, the lady who minds a couple of kids while their parents are at work, the man who cares for my neighbours' garden, the lady who painted the outside of my house, the home tutor, the window-cleaner.

If I were to sit and think about this, I would come up with many more examples including most of the repair men I have ever called out because they all seem to work under franchises. It’s only when you start thinking about working at home for yourself that you realise how many other people are already doing that very thing successfully. Then the penny drops! Of course, these people who are working at home are each running a home-based business.

The sort of things that scare most people about starting a home business are not knowing where to start and worry about what is involved in dealing with things like paying taxes and getting permits and licences. My big worry was about dealing with paying tax as a self-employed person. As I had previously worked as a bookkeeper for a small business, I fully sympathise with anyone who gets an attack of this kind of self-doubt. The trick is to recognise this stumbling block for the irrational fear it is and then use it as a step up.

It is better to start with the second part of our double question and try to think what type of home business would be best for you. The way to do that is to think about what you would like to do day and day out for years to come. Do you have a passion in life and a desire to devote more time to it? Do you have a hobby that could be the basis for your own business? Do you currently have a job that you could do as a self-employed person? Once you know what sort of thing you would like to be doing, the decision as to whether a home business would be right for you will be pretty much answered.

After making that giant leap, the next step is to find your niche, and we'll look at that in the next instalment.

technorati tags:
Self Employed
Choosing The Best Home Business
Home Business

Working At Home

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-64859394404106216162007-11-07T08:18:00.000-08:002007-11-07T06:31:46.665-08:00Starting From Nowhere Part 1- Is a Home Business Right For You?Is a Home Business Right For You? See If You Have The Five Essentials

Is a home business right for you? To put it another way, are you right for a home business? This can be a tough question to answer because most of us have never had any sort of business before, so we can hardly be expected to know whether we could run one successfully or what would be the best home business to work at.

There is no single, foolproof test to tell you whether a home business would be right for you because the variety of home-based business opportunities is so vast. There are, however, five character traits that every business owner needs in order for the business to succeed. The vital traits are patience, persistence, self-belief, the ability to remain focused, and determination. Let's have a brief look at each of these traits one by one.

Patience is required because starting a home business will require you to keep working diligently even though months might go by before you manage to turn a profit. It is highly unlikely that your business will be an overnight success. It is far more likely that you will have to keep working with nothing to show for your efforts while you are building your business.

Persistence is vital because you will have to motivate yourself when things don't go to plan. You can't give up when something doesn't work out, you have to keep trying different ways to make it work. How many times can you bear hear the answer "no"? Suppose you give up after getting a "no" answer ten times and number eleven would have been a "yes". You can never give up: you must be able to keep persisting until you get "yes".

Self-belief is essential because you will be surrounded by people (often well meaning folk) who will tell you starting a home-based businesses is a big risk and that 95% of home businesses fail. You have to believe that you are one of the 5% who will succeed in running a business from home even if there is no sign of success during the early days.

The ability to remain focused will ensure that you work steadily towards your goals and don't procrastinate when you have difficult tasks to complete or get sidetracked by external distractions.

You must be utterly determined to succeed. If you start your home business with a wishy-washy, have-a-try-and-see-how-it-goes attitude, take it from me, you won't be successful. One of the top reasons for wanting to work at home running your own business is that you won't have a boss watching your every move.

People thinking of no alarm clock, not commute, no boss, will think internet marketing is an easy life. On a scale including firefighting, mining and military service, it is true that internet marketing would be at the bottom of the scale of hard ways to earn an income. Even the most serious internet marketer won't claim to be risking life and limb by working online but an internet marketing business opportunity does not represent a soft option when considering things you can do to make money at home.

Agree? The fact that telecommuting jobs are becoming more plentiful is great news for the people who want to make an income at home but don't fancy the idea of starting their own home based business.

Working as a telecommuter often means you will be working as a contractor on a self-employed basis. Whilst this gives you most of the freedom and flexibility you would enjoy as your own boss running your own business from home, it is closer to the relationship you would have as an employee doing a job where your employer allows you to work at home.

Working at home as a call-center agent taking incoming calls for companies is one of the jobs now available due to home shoring (work outsourced to work at home contractors). If you are looking for home based employment or jobs you can do working from home, and want to find out if you have what it takes to be a telecommuting call center agent, read my new article about: Working At Home As A Call Center Agent

technorati tags:
Jobs where you can work at home
telecommuting
home based employment
Home Based Jobs
Jobs working at home
call center agent

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-655760749480346862007-11-02T11:25:00.000-07:002007-11-02T11:32:03.538-07:00My Credit Card Cash Review - A Get Paid To Give Away Credit Cards ProgramOverview
My Credit Card Cash is an online work at home opportunity. The program is extremely simple: you get paid commission when you give away credit cards. There is no matrix, no team building, no recruiting of any kind. You don't have to sell anything, you don't have to buy anything through the company. All you do is promote a website offering a variety of credit card deals.

The My Credit Card Cash website describes the program as being 3 steps:

"1. Sign up and get your Income Generating Website Instantly!

2. People go to your Website and Sign up for Credit Cards.

3. Earn Great Money For Each Sign Up!"

When you join the program, you are provided with a pre-built website which you advertise, and you earn commission for every credit card that is given away through your website. The system is fully automated, so you receive your website immediately you join the program. The website contains over 100 different credit card deals for potential customers to pick from.

Training
The website promises "Free coaching and advice to help you every step of the way" and "6 lessons to teach you how to make $1000s per month". My Credit Card Cash host and maintain your website free of charge so there are no additional hosting fees to be paid and you don't need to learn anything about programming or website maintenance.

Cost of Membership
The cost of membership is an initial one-off payment of $1 to have your website activated and it is then all yours to promote. In order to keep permanent free ownership of the website, new members must get 4 or more credit card sign ups. There are no fixed quotas, the only requirement the company stipulates is that you get 4 or more credit card sign ups. If you fail to get the 4 sign ups within 30 days, you do not lose the website or your membership, but you will be required to pay a small fee ($37.95) to continue. This fee will be charged every 30 days after you sign up until you have obtained a total of 4 credit card sign ups. As soon as you get your 4 sign ups, the website becomes yours free of charge forever.

I know the above might sound confusing, but what it means is: if you get 4 credit card sign ups within your first 30 days of membership, all you have to pay is the initial $1. As soon as you have 4 sign ups to your credit, the website becomes yours free of charge. So, if you don't get your 4 sign ups within your first 30 days, but say on day 45 you get your 4th sign up, the total you will be charged is $38.95 and the website becomes yours forever.

Payment
Commissions are paid monthly at the end of the month by PayPal or Check.

Cancellation
According to the FAQ, you can cancel your membership at any time.

Bonuses
The program comes with some bonuses when you first join, including a coupon for $25 for pay per click advertising and 250 professional personalised business cards to help with your offline advertising.

For more information about this credit card business opportunity, please read Can You Make Money Giving Away Credit Cards?

technorati tags:
My Credit Card Cash
Get Paid To Give Away Credit Cards
Work At Home Opportunity

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-21410142536902813342007-10-31T09:18:00.000-07:002007-11-01T12:41:34.846-07:00From Stay At Home Mom To Home Based Working MotherIf a mother wants to go out to work and is comfortable with the options for childcare available to her, it is her absolute right to choose that path, but no mother should be forced to go out to work and leave the care of her children in somebody else's hands.

It is a sad truth that too many women reluctantly hand their precious babies over to strangers and get back into the workforce because their family cannot survive without her income. Some moms manage to stay at home while their children are pre-schoolers; once the kids start school, mom has to get back to work as quickly as she can so that she can make up for the lost years of income.

Many stay at home moms decide to start their own home based business so that they can earn some extra income working at home during their children's early years. Sometimes this extra income is essential and sometimes it is a welcome bonus to the family budget. Whichever case applies, running a business from home can boost a stay at home mother's feelings of self-worth and give her an interest outside of caring for the kids.

Running a business from home can be tricky to manage and the degree of difficulty depends a lot on the age of the children involved, but the rewards make it worth persevering. With a little help and co-operation from the family, a stay at home mom can become a confident home based working mom.

To read my article for stay at home mothers who would like to be home based working mothers click here

technorati tags: work at home
stay at home mom
home based working mother
home based business

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-14175099604505878562007-10-30T12:05:00.000-07:002007-11-03T03:04:31.289-07:00Work At Home Telecommuting As A Call Center AgentLooking for telecommuting work at home?
Ignotius Associates offer top rates fortelecommuters working at home as a call center agents.

If you are looking online for jobs you can do at home, you will undoubtedly have come across many home business opportunities where you get to do work such as affiliate marketing or joining an MLM program. Opportunities and advice on starting your own home business are advertised all over the Internet, however, real jobs you can do at home are nigh on impossible to locate.

Why is this? Well, for a start, not all jobs are suitable for home based employment so the opportunities for working at home are reduced. Another reason is that employers have been slow to catch on to the idea of employing staff to work at home. Instead of considering the massive savings they could make in terms of office space, lighting, heating and so on, employers focus on the fact that they will be unable to directly supervise their staff members. If staff are paid by results, they have a better chance of finding jobs where they can work from home than if they were paid a set hourly rate.

All these things combine to limit the number of work at home jobs available. Demand for work at home jobs currently far exceeds the supply. There are, however, a couple of areas where real work at home jobs are becoming more plentiful; one area where the number of jobs at home on offer are increasing is in call-center work.

Anyone who has needed to contact a company's Customer Service Department and has been routed to a call-center will know that many of them are based overseas but there is a less well-known trend for hiring more local call-center staff. Between 2000 and 2007 the number of home-based call-center employees in the USA tripled. According to research conducted by Yankee Group there are more than 670,000 work at home phone agents employed in the USA and Canada alone.

Working at home as a call-center agent has many of the advantages of running your own home business including the obvious ones such as flexible working hours and no commuting. You are, however, an employee just as much as if you were working in your employer's building and your earning potential is dictated by how much work the employer provides. Home-based call-center workers are normally contractors who are paid for the actual number of minutes they spend on the phone to customers. Working hours, although flexible, have to be sanctioned by the employer, so you can't just decide to change your hours without giving any notice.

Hourly rates of pay for work at home call-center staff are not particularly high and depend upon the type of work undertaken. For example if your job is to simply take down customer orders over the phone, you will not earn as much as you would providing technical support or in a position requiring sales skills.

When considering the rates of pay for a home-based call-center agent job, you need to take into account that by working at home, you will be saving money. For example, you won't have to pay for fares or fuel, you won't have to maintain a working-clothes wardrobe and, if you are a parent (as most people who want to work at home are), you won't have to pay expensive child-care fees. Despite the comparatively low rates of pay, telecommuting as a call-center agent is worth considering if you want a job where you can work at home.

You will get top rates working at home as a call center agent for Ignotius Associates.

technorati tags:
Jobs where you can work at home
telecommuting
home based employment
Home Based Jobs
Jobs working at home
call center agent

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-86484795404798708192007-10-29T09:48:00.000-07:002007-10-30T10:18:52.173-07:00A Work At Home Small Business Opportunity And The Retired PersonA work at home small business opportunity seeker will find an overwhelming number of different small business ideas to pick from. The growth of the Internet means that an opportunity seeker looking for a work at home small business opportunity online can get details of thousands of them just from typing a short phrase into a search engine query box and clicking their mouse. It can be very hard to know where to start when you need to select one work at home business opportunity from thousands of possibilities.

The first thing to ask yourself is what you want from a work at home small business opportunity. Do you want to work at home running a small business part time or are you looking for a full time small business opportunity? Would your ideal small business opportunity involve you working at home on the Internet most of the time or do you envisage running a work from home business which would involve you in keeping active by going out and about and having regular contact with your customers?

Another way of asking yourself the same question is to consider why you are thinking of starting a work at home small business. Are you looking for a work at home opportunity because you have some spare time to put to use and would like to make some extra cash? This is the situation for many retired persons. Some people find that retirement can be boring at times either because they don't have a passion for a particular hobby or because the things they enjoy cost money and are outside their retirement pension budget. Other retired persons are less fortunate and need extra income in order to be able to afford the basic necessities of life.

Which do you need most: a way of using your spare time to keep alert and active and to avoid boredom, or is the need for extra cash the main reason for looking for work at home? If your main object is to find a way to alleviate boredom and the need for earning extra income at home is not pressing, there are many online work at home opportunities which could suit you. For example, a work at home opportunity such as participating in online surveys and focus groups will not take up much time, you can pick your own hours, you will earn some cash, and the work is fun and easy to do.

If, however, your main concern is to earn extra income working from home, you would be better off looking at affiliate marketing opportunities because the income potential is far greater. Affiliate marketing has the advantage of being flexible in respect of being able to pick your own hours and it can be a part time or full time occupation. If you are active and enjoy the society of other people, you might not want to spend your time online. In this case you might find an offline small business opportunity more suitable. Some examples are being a self-employed representative for a cosmetics company or book company, or providing a dog walking service.

There is a work at home small business opportunity to suit everyone but, before making a commitment you need to decide what sort of business you would enjoy running day to day. It is also important to decide how much time you want to spend on your small business and how much extra income you need to generate by working at home.

technorati tags:
Work At Home Small Business Opportunity
Small Business Ideas
Working At Home On the Internet
Extra Income From Home

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-79248949604503778052007-10-27T10:28:00.000-07:002007-10-27T10:33:48.345-07:00Work at home business - internet solutions to the work at home puzzleIf you are having a problem finding a work at home business, Internet solutions come in all varieties. A simple search using Google or Yahoo (or any search engine you prefer) for "find a work at home business" will yield hundreds of pages of results. The Internet will provide you with a solution to most puzzles and finding a work at home business opportunity on the Internet is one such puzzle.

The number and variety of choices your search engine enquiries will reveal will probably be enough to leave you breathless, so it is worth having a brain-storming session before doing a search online for a work at home Internet business opportunity. If you start out with a couple of possible ideas for your work at home business, you can refine your searches by adding or excluding certain types of work. You will almost certainly end up with more search results than you will have time to read but they should be more focused than a broad search for "work at home business".

Don't worry if thinking of a work at home Internet business to suit you seems like a tall order. You have most likely never had a work at home business before and, therefore, won't know what might be right for you. The place to start is to think about what you like doing in terms of hobbies and interests, and jot down a list of no more than six ideas. Next think of some things that might be sound money-making ideas for an Internet based work at home business. These ideas can be as random as you like and, again, limit yourself to no more than half a dozen ideas. Then make a list of things you are good at. These attributes don't need to be work related (ie things like typing speeds), they can be things like excelling in sports or being very patient with other people.

Treat the items on these lists as pieces of a puzzle which will fit together to form your work at home business. Internet solutions will be revealed when you type items from the lists into search engines, but you can also scan your lists to see if an obvious answer leaps out at you. If you can see one thing on each list that is related to an item on each of the other lists, start with those.

By looking at those pieces of the puzzle, you might immediately see the outline of your work at home business without resorting to further searches. If this happens, your next step is to do some research to see how much demand there is for the service or product you have in mind. Then you need to check to see how much competition there is in that particular field of Internet business. After completing this research, you should be able to see a picture of your proposed work at home business opportunity pretty clearly.

Using the Google keyword tool will show you the number of searches performed each month relating to your work at home business and the level of competition. The keyword tool is simple to use: it is just a matter of typing in keywords and phrases relevant to your work at home business idea. This is a quick method of getting a feel for possible popularity and competition before you proceed to more in-depth research.

All you have to do is provide the pieces of the puzzle for your work at home business: Internet solutions will then reveal the full picture.

technorati tags:
Work At Home Business Internet Solutions
work at home Internet business opportunity
work at home business idea

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-44918517414102556402007-10-26T08:49:00.001-07:002007-10-26T10:08:05.767-07:00Free Easy Ways To Make Money Online - Two Types Of Get Paid To Programs"Get Paid To" programs (often abbreviated to "GPT") offer free easy ways to make money online. You can get paid to read emails, play games, take part in online surveys, test new products and sign up for free offers.

The things in favour of get paid to programs are that they are free to join, the work is very easy to do, you can work as many or as few hours as you like, you can do the work at any hour of the day (or night) that suits you, and absolutely no qualifications or special knowledge are required to make money from get paid to programs.

The downside is that the amount of extra income you can generate working at home on get paid to programs is unlikely to be enough to replace a full-time income and enable you to retire early. You can earn a reasonable amount from some types of get paid to program but, if getting rich is your aim, you should look for alternative ways to make money online (and there are plenty). For now, let's look at what's involved in two of the most popular types of get paid to programs.

1. Get paid to read emails. This is the easiest of all the free easy ways to make money online; all you have to do is open an email containing a link to a website and click on that link. You get started by signing up to become a member of a free get paid to read email program and the company will start sending you emails (normally within 24 hours). You get paid when you click on the link and view the website for a set number of seconds. The viewing time is normally between 10 and 30 seconds and there is a visible timer which counts down the seconds for you. You will only earn a few cents for each email, so don't expect to make a full-time income from get paid to read emails.

I make no secret of the fact that I am not a fan of get paid to read email programs. From my personal experience of these programs, they do not offer a realistic way to make money online for the average person. I do, however, like paid surveys (even though you are unlikely to earn more than a part-time income from them) which are the second type of get paid to program considered here.

2. Get paid to take part in online surveys. This is almost as easy as working at get paid to read emails; you get paid just forgiving your opinion. So, as with get paid to read email programs, you don't need any special knowledge or training to take part in online paid surveys. To become involved in online surveys, you can either do searches to find survey companies or pay a small fee to join a survey database company who will provide you with a list of reputable survey companies. The only extra work you have to do to get started with paid online surveys is that when you sign up to each survey company, you will have to fill in a form giving some information about yourself. This is so that you will only be invited to join surveys suitable to your demographic profile. You will start receiving invitations to survey panels (normally within 24 hours) and you can accept as many of those invitations as you like. The more surveys you take, the more money you will make. Surveys take anything from 5 minutes to 45 minutes to complete and payment is according to the length of the survey.

Free easy ways to make money online do exist and might be suitable for you if you just want to make a little extra income at home. If you are new to the home business scene, you will undoubtedly be hoping to find an easy home business start up idea. The first thing to remember is that anyone promoting a home business start up idea will make it sound easy, but it is up to you to investigate what is involved in starting up the business and then decide whether the procedure really would be something you would find easy to do.

If you have a clear idea about what type of home business you want to own, it will be easier for you to look at home business start up ideas and evaluate them. If you know what sort of business you want to have, you can concentrate on looking into the technicalities of starting up. If you have already decided on the nature of the business you want to run, you will probably have some knowledge of it.

There are many people who desperately want to get out of the rat race, fire the boss and find out how it feels to have all the money they earn padding out their bank account instead of lining someone else's pockets. Some people will envisage running a home business doing pretty much what they were doing as an employee and this can be a very good way to start up your own business. Other people have a particular talent or hobby that can easily be turned into a money-making enterprise and this can be what sparks their home business start up idea.

If you want to be your own boss but do not have a clear idea of what sort of business you could succeed with, you are in the group that is most vulnerable to over-hyped home business start up program promises. Much of the advertising you see will be telling you that it will be easy for you to start your own business using a particular system or promoting a particular product. The sales pitch will tell you the business is so easy to start up that you can have it up and running and ready to pull in cash instantly.

It is impossible to over-emphasise how important it is to choose exactly the right business to suit your personality as well as your abilities. Don't be swayed by claims that a certain opportunity is so easy to start up that even a complete beginner could do it without any problem. The business start up might be as simple as the promotional material tells you, but once you have started, you have to keep going. That is where the real work starts and it is often the stage where the business that you started up so effortlessly, stalls and can only be restarted with considerable effort.

If you find a home business start up idea that appeals to you, read everything you can find about it and consider whether the business is something you are likely to enjoy working at on a daily basis for years to come. It requires dedication and hard work to make money with a home business. Finding the right start up idea is vital to your success.

technorati tags:
Home Business Start Up Ideas
Be Your Own Boss
Home Business Start Up Program

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061268.post-87805456905719239352007-10-24T06:55:00.000-07:002007-10-24T12:37:03.096-07:00How Important Is Morality In An Online Business? The running of an online business is not the most obvious circumstance to cause a crisis of conscience. Most website owners would not hesitate to say that they consider they conduct business in an ethical manner. Employing ethical business standards is one of the ways to build up a good reputation with customers and fellow webmasters. To some extent being honest and ethical in your dealings is matter of self-preservation; if you become known as an untrustworthy person, your customers will not make a habit of returning to do business with you, and this means your business won't be successful. Your reputation (and this is so in any business) is one of your most valuable assets, but morality is about more than conducting yourself in a certain way when your behaviour is being observed and relaxing your code of conduct when there are no witnesses. Morality is about doing the right thing when nobody else will ever know, and the Internet offers the ideal place for underhand dealings to go undetected if you want to live a double-life.

My crisis of conscience happened recently when I was tempted to promote a program that, whilst not exactly a scam, is not 100% squeaky clean. I became interested in this program when it was launched because it looked like an excellent way to make money working online. Upon closer examination I found a couple of flaws in the program: one was that the sales page is incomplete if you are feeling charitable, and misleading if you are not. An even bigger flaw is that there is an inbuilt possibility that anyone using the program would lose money. I did not want to be responsible for anyone losing money, so I decided not to have anything to do with that program.

Then I started to see advertisements for the program and I thought about all the people who were promoting it and making a lot of money. Was I being silly to worry and, as a consequence, missing out on a good money-making opportunity? Would it be an immoral act for me to promote the program? After all, I'm not everyone's guardian, people are responsible for their own actions, and I would just be presenting something for their consideration. Today I was getting to the point where I might have managed to persuade myself that promoting that program anonymously was a good idea and not promoting it was wasting an opportunity to make some easy cash quickly. I am not rich, just an ordinary working person and making some easy cash is an attractive idea. What was holding me back? Conscience, pure and simple and I was working towards overruling with that. Today I heard something which made me realise that I had to listen to my conscience.

Today happens to be the Internet Watch Foundation's Awareness Day. The first words I heard spoken this morning were part of the news on the radio. It was a report about child abuse websites and the way the abuse is getting nastier and the childen are getting younger. According the IWF seven child abuse websites are reported every single day. If seven are reported, how many are going undetected? Who runs these evil websites? Evil people presumably, but I wonder if some of the webmasters started out as ordinary working people who just couldn't resist a chance to make some easy money.

technorati tags: Internet Business
Money Making
Conscience
Ethical Business Dealings
Morality

Elaine Curriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04471545134688692894noreply@blogger.com0
