He said, "I said (to them), 'Wa 'Alaikum (and upon you).'

Usama approached Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) onbehalf of a woman (who had committed theft). The Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah shower on him) said,

"The people before you were destroyed because they used to inflict thelegal punishments on the poor and forgive the rich. By Him in Whose Hand my soul is! If Fatima (the daughter of the Prophet) did that (i.e. stole), I would cut off her hand."

Umar said, "By Allah! Since I heard that from the Prophet, I have not taken such an oath, neither intentionally, nor by reporting the oath of someone else."

Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam)said, "O 'Abdur-Rahman bin Samura! Do not seek to be a ruler, because if you are given authority for it, then you will be held responsible for it, but
if you are given it without asking for it, then you will be helped in it (by Allah), and whenever you take an oath to do something and later you find that something else is better than the first, then do the better one and make expiation for your oath."

'O Messenger of God, who?'

'The man whose excesses prevent his neighbour from living in peace',

EVERY MUSLIM MUST GIVE IN CHARITY

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Every Muslim has to give in charity." The people then asked: "(But what) if someone has nothing to give, what should he do?" The Prophet replied: "He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns)." The people further asked: "If he cannot find even that?" He replied: "He should help the needy who appeal for help." Then the people asked: "If he cannot do (even) that?" The Prophet said finally: "Then he should perform good deeds and keep away from evil deeds, and that will be regarded as charitable deeds."
