I agree with what the previous poster stated. However, you can't blame the demise of the system on the transplants from Pennsylvania. Every instance of trouble you mentioned, I would bet my last dollar they are from the local communities.

Good comment above,now if the rest of you would stay in Pa. it would be a better place down here..if you trace half of these problems in the Volunteer side, it can be brought back to some out of town punks who got their first taste of freedom when they went away to the firehouse to live. I can understand coming down here for school...but there are firehouses that have people coming from all over

I see all of the things here are about the fire departments, but what about the young man who was burned? What is his situation now? Even though he is a teenager isn't what happened to him still child-abuse? He is after all under 18 and under the responsibility of a parent or guardian. If that guardian trusted his welfare to the Riverdale fire department then they should have prevented this abuse

If you want an impartial investigation, then the town police department would be the last ones I would have investigate this incident. For the citizen's whose tax dollars fund the VFD's, this is one reported incident...think of what go's on that isn't reported. It is sad because there are volunteer stations that try to do the right thing and abide by the rules and in the end they suffer because
