What's in a Name?

Red Room was named after both a place and a literary tradition. The famous Red Roomof the White House is an extraordinary place where revolutionary behavior occurred in a small parlor. For example, when Franklin Roosevelt wouldn't allow female reporters at his press conferences, Eleanor Roosevelt held her own press conferences at the same time for the women. The conferences were so popular that the male reporters started attending, and the President had no choice but to integrate his press conferences in order to get any attention. A tradition of civilized revolution on behalf of disenfranchised writers is carried on in the modern-day Red Room.
"The Red Room" is also the name of four different literary works of different genres, by very different authors, spanning a century. One of these works, written by H.G. Wells, is about confronting fear itself, alone in a small room-a relevant allegory for writers. Red evokes passion, action, and drama, providing the perfect backdrop for literary creation.

Ellos pudieron ofrecer a sus hijos una carrera universitaria, con esfuerzo y con sacrificios, pero fue posible. Ya desde las primeras décadas del siglo XX se empezó a forjar una Nación que defendía y desarrollaba sus recursos estratégicos. Los nombres de Mosconi y el petróleo primero, o Savio y el acero más tarde son un ejemplo de aquellos momentos.

HUBO UNA ARGENTINA DE LA PRODUCCIÓN Y EL EMPLEO. EXISTÍA UNA FUERTE PRESENCIA DEL ESTADO JUGANDO UN ROL ACTIVO EN LA ECONOMÍA, EN LA PRODUCCIÓN. PARALELAMENTE SE DESARROLLÓ UNA POLÍTICA SOCIAL DE AVANZADA.

A mediados del siglo XX el Estado promovió el desarrollo de distintas industrias: IKA, F.M. SIAM, IME, Astilleros Río Santiago, SOMISA, ZAPLA, GIOL. Se nacionalizó y promovió el sistema de transporte ferroviario; se desarrollo la línea aérea de bandera (Aerolíneas Argentinas); se expandió la construcción de escuelas y hospitales públicos; se dio gran impulso al desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnología con la creación de institutos como: Balseiro, INTI, INTA, CONEA, Malbrán; se intensificó la explotación de recursos naturales, como el gas y el petróleo ( YPF), el carbón (YCF), el hierro (HIPASAM), la energía eléctrica (Agua y Energía). También se dio un gran desarrollo de las empresas de servicios como Encotel, Entel, Vialidad Nacional, Ferrocarriles Argentinos, Subterráneos, Obras Sanitarias, ELMA, etc.

¡EXISTIÓ UNA ARGENTINA QUE DISEÑABA Y CONSTRUÍA BARCOS, AVIONES, AUTOMÓVILES!

Este proyecto nacional, es cierto fue realizado en un contexto internacional distinto al de hoy. Y tuvo errores, claro. Tampoco resolvió todo lo que había por resolver. Pero fue un gran avance para nuestra Nación y nuestro Pueblo. Luego hubo otras etapas de desarrollo, que debemos analizar, basados en la inversión de capitales del exterior. Nuestra generación tuvo el triste privilegio de asistir durante los últimos 26 años al desmantelamiento y destrucción de aquella Argentina. En un proceso donde el mecanismo de endeudamiento externo jugó un papel fundamental. En los últimos diez años se impuso una política de libre circulación de capitales, libre importación e "integración" a un mundo globalizado, so pretexto de promover la modernización de los servicios y la estructura productiva. Hoy tenemos otro País. Nuestra tierra, nuestros recursos naturales están, en gran medida en manos extranjeras. La industria nacional, que fue un orgullo para todos, está casi extinguida. Nuestra integridad territorial está amenazada. ¡Millones sin trabajo, sin atención médica o sanitaria, el hambre reina en la Argentina!

DESDE NUESTRA POSICIÓN DE PROFESIONALES DE LA INGENIERÍA Y UNIVERSITARIOS EN GENERAL, TENEMOS EL DERECHO Y LA OBLIGACIÓN DE REPENSAR Y PROMOVER UN CAMBIO DE ESTA SITUACIÓN.

Our introduction is our source of inspiration. Our Grand father, VAID VIDYA SAGAR AGGARWAL, was a well-known herbalist and a perfect Ayurvedist. He devoted his life to research and formulating various blends of herbs to act in a natural way of healing the various diseases of mankind. He was a great and famous vaid. In the Ayurveda system of medicine, vaid means physician. His career as a herbalist started from Vaid Perma-nand, who was also a great herbalist and head physician of King of Kapurthala (India). At that time, the physician of the King was called RAJVAID.

He adopted only two pupils during his lifetime. One was his own son, Vaid Sant-ram and second was our grand father, Vaid Vidya Sagar Aggarwal. Both received the oretical and practical knowledge of Ayurveda (natural way of healing with natural sources) from him. Our grand father had a keen interest in herbs, but our forefathers who were very wealthy financiers/bankers and landlords were extremely against this interest. At that time this profession was considered to be of low - profile. People who worked in this field had to survive on donations.

Our Grand father, Vaid Vidya Sagar Aggarwal unnerved, gave up powers and luxuries but never gave up this field and continued learning under RAJVAID Perma-Nand. He successfully completed his study and practical knowledge and received the blessings of his teacher. He started his own small enterprise in the field of herbal medicine in 1932 under the name of SAGAR AYURVEDIC PHARMACY, which soon became well-known company in making most effective standardized herbal products. Vaid Vidya Sagar Aggarwal devoted his whole life to herbal medicines and created many herbal formulations for human welfare in the natural way of healing.

His maximum creative work was from 1960 onwards and was soon faced with patients with more chronic and complicated diseases. It was at a time when chemical medicine formulations were getting so much popularity in India and use of Ayurvedic medicines were declining. The quick and fast results of chemical formulations won over the herbal treatments, which had a sure but slow effect. People in India could not adjust their traditional system of herbal treatment with modern chemical science development.

Our grand father used to tell us that chemical medications became were getting more successful because they worked faster and gave quick relief but suppressed the symptoms. Because the disease was suppressed temporarily, the reoccurrence was more drastic and complicated. He was of the opinion that chemical treatment was necessary and many times life saving but man would have to turn back from chemicals to a natural cure or have to keep the balance between chemicals and natural herbs. He spent the rest of his life in the research and trials of various herbal combinations on his patients. He closed his Pharmacy, and started to practice as a herbalist. He was now getting old and intended to pass his knowledge and life-experience to his children.

Vaid Vidya Sagar Aggarwal, who, until his death 14 years ago, believed that the natural way of healing by herbal medicines would remain forever. He passed all his experience, knowledge, and expertise in the Ayurveda field of herbal healing to his children. He taught various aspects of Ayurvedic theory behind this healingpathy method adopted by ancient Ayurveda in conforming the properties of herbs.

Since Vaid Vidya Sagar Aggarwal's death, people still remember his name and fame. He lives in the heart of the people due to the work he rendered for mankind throughout his life and his grand sons are carrying on his formulas as a family tradition today. Now a days it is very difficult to find a true herbalist like Vaid Vidya Sagar Aggarwal since most of them, like he, have gone from this universe.
