After reading the above-linked article, I am almost speechless. Almost, but not completely. Notice that even though she's going to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings, her agent says, "And, by the way, she's not saying ... she'll stop drinking tomorrow." Uh, hello? She's 20! She's not old enough to legally drink now, yet no one seems to have a problem with this? What a great role model she is turning out to be. First she looks like she reeeaallly needs a sandwich (or four), then she allegedly OD's on illegal drugs (last month, according to The National Enquirer), and now she is going to AA meetings, but publicly doesn't commit to giving up alcohol (at least until she's 21). And yet, she is somehow"smarter than the next person." Who is this "next person"? Courtney Love?

Lindsay, a little advice:
1. Eat a sandwich.
2. Either quit drugging and drinking, or shut the Hell up about it. You can vote, but you're still a minor.
3. Fire your publicist. She's not doing you any favors.

NASA Moon Base Plans

NASA has plans to take the US back to the Moon in the next few years, and they intend to set up a Moon base where astronauts will stay, presumably on a rotating basis as those on the ISS do. This will be the first in a series of steps to take us to Mars, and then beyond.

I don't think a day has gone by since I started this Web site back in September, that WWE was not one of the Top Searches. Why is it that an activity that once labelled itself a "sport", but is now admittedly just a show, is so incredibly popular? Back in the '90s, I remember seeing quite a few T-shirts with "The Rock" or "Triple H" (back when WWE - World Wrestling Entertainment was still called the WWF - World Wrestling Federation). While I don't see so many pro wrestling shirts anymore, it is clear that its popularity has not waned. Real wrestling, as practiced at the high school and college level, is a real sport. Pro "wrestling"...in my opinion, it's not even entertainment. But what do I know? Perhaps watching Hulk Hogan "wrestle" while collecting Social Security is just too high-brow for me.

Also, as a devout Hindu, she is not in the class (nor would like to be mentioned in the same breath, I would imagine) as many American celebrities, such as those mentioned in the last few posts. Though she is certainly gorgeous, she is also very moral, and brilliant to boot. She was an architecture major before becoming a model, and she speaks five (yes, 5!) languages fluently at the age of 33. She should be seen as a role model to young women everywhere. I recommend seeing her latest movie (Hindi language, subtitled in English, Hebrew, or Arabic) Umrao Jaan.

Once again, a Top Searches topic that continually baffles me. Why is Paris Hilton so popular? The old saying about not being able to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear applies here. Take away the fact that she is an heiress to the Hilton fortune (to the tune of $300 million), and she would cease to be "newsworthy". While she is not what I would consider ugly, she is certainly not as "hot" as the sheeple make her out to be. She cannot sing well without the aid of quite a bit of digital processing, and to call her an actress is an insult to all who have ever held a SAG membership. Basically, it seems that people treat Paris Hilton much the way that the Mugatu character (played by Will Ferrell in the movie Zoolander) repeatedly talked about Owen Wilson's character: "That Hansel is so hot right now!"

Britney Spears is making headlines again with a new fashion statement: She decided to go out in public not wearing any underwear. Why this is news I'm not really sure; for some reason people apparently did not expect this kind of behavior from Britney. Given the kind of class she has shown and the type of men that she's been with, I am not really sure why anybody would be surprised that she decided to go commando while wearing a dress. Apparently anything will pass for news these days.
