Walking up 5th Avenue, straight ahead of me walking towards me was a diminutive, elegant asian woman with big sunglasses on. My heart leapt! Over & over again in my brain I was thinking: 'oh my god - it's Yoko!! it's Yoko!'
Yes, it was. We almost brushed against each other, I smiled...... and she smiled back at me :)

Which brings me to my political Christmas quote:

"War is OVER, if you want it"
- John & Yoko

JOY to the World; PEACE on earth

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35468828.post-1165986239523398962006-12-12T20:35:00.000-08:002007-03-10T10:21:55.191-08:00Services & FeesDoggy Daddy understands the needs of every dog. He had a truly amazing life that many Humans would be jealous of. We all shared so many wonderful times together....

We love you dear Rexy

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35468828.post-1161926324038115892006-10-26T22:14:00.000-07:002006-10-26T22:22:06.443-07:00Something for Autumn.....( German proverb)"To live long, eat like a Cat....DRINK like a Dog"

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35468828.post-1161791760975097892006-10-25T08:48:00.000-07:002006-10-25T08:56:00.983-07:00Dog Days of Indian SummerHere in the Bay Area we usually finally get our Summer after Labor Day. September, October (sometimes stretching into November; I can remember Thanksgivings where it was still 'shorts weather'). The temperatures in the 70s & 80s, the sunlight has a golden hue to it, all the doggies (not to mention the humans, too) are happy. The park is full of sunbathers, the streets crowded with people ambling around enjoying this last bit of warm weather. Balmy evenings that s-l-o-w-l-y cool down overnight.
My garden is still going strong; you'd think it's June, not almost Halloween!

I guess my point is to enjoy every possible moment because soon Daylight Savings will end; the rains will make their annual appearance. So remember these days when we're in the dark, wet days of January!

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35468828.post-1160356578065474712006-10-08T18:01:00.000-07:002006-10-09T08:32:23.753-07:00Dog Day SundayWell, it's been an interesting week since we 'launched' this version of DDW. Thursday was rainy; had the foresight to check the weather online before FRED& I went on our rounds - not a raindrop in sight. Naturally, halfway over to walk Bruce it started sprinkling lightly. I thought "oh well, this isn't too bad we'll be fine" It started sprinkling harder & harder. Had to towel Freddy off when we arrived; dried Bruce off too when we got back from his walk (not to mention my wet self). AND just as naturally 1/2 a block from home it stopped..........
Lesson: don't trust the Weatherman OR the so-called radar!!

Today was the complete opposite: Gorgeous sunny weather that we usually get this time of year ("Indian Summer"). Right as I had finished bathing Fred, our ol' buddy Rex showed up for an overnight stay. Rex is a mountain dog, from up near Yosemite; he's 90 pounds of love. A gentle giant. Fred's bestest & oldest buddy.

Tomorrow should be busy: Fred & Rex on a morning walk; Bruce mid-day & an extra evening walkie (his mom Deb is really busy with a rollout at her work); Fenix for a mid-day walk. Fenix is a sweet, sweet girl ( terrier mix, I think - I need to ask her Mom); she was abused & neglected and is a little shy. However she LOVES Fred & Doggy Daddy and really likes seeing us & coming over to hang out after her walk. In apartment or out on the deck. That's where Rex is right now.

Ahhhh, it's a dog's life.........!

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35468828.post-1159983613494010622006-10-04T10:38:00.000-07:002006-10-04T10:40:13.496-07:00Quote of the Day"Heaven goes by favor. We didn't have to walk any DOGS today except Fred. It was a little overcast.

Bruce is a Chihuahua/ Besinji mix (Besinji is an African hunting DOG); Fred is a Border Collie/ Spitz mix.

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35468828.post-1168969871333334532006-08-16T09:44:00.000-07:002007-01-31T19:57:37.343-08:00Testimonials from happy ClientsMr. Bruce Jones is a rescued Chihuahua/Basenji (scroll to the bottom to see a pic of Bruce & Fred) and he’s estimated to be about 3 years old now. The rescue found him in an animal pound in Central California on doggie death row. He was slated to be put to sleep that day, so they grabbed him as well. It appears that he was confined most of his life and has a lot of scarring under his fur, but we don’t know why. He is a wonderful, loving, and fun companion.
By John coming over to care for him, he has felt secure and safe from the first day in my home. He never gets blue when I go to work because he knows he’ll be visited, walked and played with.
He had issues with a slight lease aggression, car chasing, no commands, and no recall whatsoever. John assisted me in working with Bruce on these issues and today he is a different dog. He doesn’t chase cars and is now off leash in the parks, chasing the tennis ball like a happily crazed dog. He interacts with all types and sizes of dogs and doesn’t even bat an eye. All of this has occurred in one short year and John certainly has had a lot to do with the success of Mr. Bruce Jones.
When I am going out of town, have to work late, or just want to have a late night out-on-the town, I can call John and he saves the day. Bruce is happy and has fun and is interacting with John and Fred instead of being home alone. Sometimes John stay’s over or sometimes Bruce goes over on a sleepover. All parties are happy. I would highly recommend his services to anyone and so would Mr. Bruce Jones.
- Debra H.

Atomic Dawg ( a Shi-Tzu) and Sophie (a Terrier mix) love a trip to their Doggy Daddy. They adore him and he adores them. It is a rare occasion when I don't have my dogs with me so I need to know that they are having the best care possible when I leave them and I have no qualms at all leaving them with John. I would recommend Doggy Daddy to anyone who loves their dogs and is looking for quality care.
- Gina H.

John took care of Conway (a Shi-Tzu) when he was a puppy and I felt completely at ease. We moved away from the area and increased our dog family by one, we have since moved back and look forward to John taking care of our boys when we travel.
- Matt W.

John aka Doggy Daddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14394276638399791284noreply@blogger.com0
