"Cranford" is terrific. Julia's looking older, since her last television appearance in "Who Do You Think You Are?"! And, as well as Philip, both Jim Carter and Michael Gambon are putting in tremendous performances.

The railways are still a bloody nuisance, even now! I had to wait around fifteen to twenty minutes for four trains today, at the level crossing, making me late on an important visit to see my mum at the hospital. The ladies of "Cranford" were right methinks!!

Laura, have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying Cranford too. Good to see Philip Glenister back on TV (though I keep hoping he'll come out with some 1970's style politically incorrect abuse) and of course no period drama can ever be truly accurate without the appearance of Julia Sawalha... glad to hear that Channel Dave is ringing your bell!

Ooooh Miaow!! Actually I haven't watched any of the current series of "Celeb" although couldn't escape hearing about the Marc/Cerys thing. What a naughty boy! It's true that Senor Bannerman does seem a tad self-involved. Although I'm actually in disagreement with you about the public not liking this kind of thing though, Steve - whilst their behaviour is of course morally reprehensible, doesn't it at least make damn entertaining viewing?
