Wally, neither of us are personally killers (that I know of). Every country has some blood on its hands in the past or present, but that doesn't make it OK. I remember when Bush said "they hate us for our freedoms" and I thought that was the most simplistic and stupid thing I've ever heard a head of state say. Back then, it was just the most radical elements of Islam who hated us, mostly because of our support of Israel and the fact that we have bases near their holy lands. Thanks to Bush and his war in Iraq, a whole lot more of them hate us. One thing I can say is that justifying the wholesale slaughter of fellow human beings is not OK. I never had a boss only man that lorded over me. was the boss at camp yea I killed him later with my wife but not before I lost my viginity to his wife. Jason: I have always been a lover of true dialogue and a respector of those with views that differ from mine. The Middle East is a complicated situation. There are Islamic people who are attempting to speak up without fear of reprisals to encourage what they view as the hijacking of their religion with the terrorists maligning religious interpretation.

Overall, wouldn't it be great if each country could accept that differences make for a very interesting society and that basic human dignity can be co-respected?

This boss you have mentioned lacks what the late Leo Buscaglia on PBS used to call "celebrating our personhood". People who abuse others in the workplace usually have an insecurity about them. They often take it out on subordinates. This just makes for a hostile workplace environment. I learned a lesson from singer Dionne Warwick who tried to remove mysogeny from Rap Music.
